LARKIN, JAMES J., 74, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2003 at Shore Memorial Hospital. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Charles Anthony and Marie (McCrossin) Larkin, and moved here in 1979.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. He was a police officer for the City of Philadelphia for 24 years, retiring in 1979. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and an
Army Veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed golfing. He was part of the Gas House Gang on Rising Sun Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.
Mr. Larkin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Suzanne; his children, Alison Meredith of Dennisville, James Larkin, Jr. of Cape May Court House, Kelly Larkin of South Dennis, Sean Larkin of Cape May Court House, Thomas Larkin of Port St. John, FL., and Megan Larkin of Woodbine; his brother, Charles Larkin of Philadelphia; and ten grandchildren.
Funeral Liturgy will be said on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, Parkway and East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery, Cape May Court House. Memorial donations may be made to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, Erie Avenue at Front St., Philadelphia, PA 19134.
REED, WILLIAM J., 84, of Mystic Shores, formerly of Sea Isle City, died Saturday, May 31, 2003 at Atlantic City Medical Center, Mainland Division, He had previously lived in Drexel Hill, PA.
Mr. Reed was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys, Class of 1936. He worked in his family trucking business and later for Clark Transfer Trucking Company until his retirement. He was a member of Saint Theresa's Church, Tuckerton, and the Knights of Columbus of Sea Isle City and a World War II Veteran.
Preceded in death be his three children, Mary Pat Anderson, James Reed and Joanne Moriarty, Mr. Reed is survived by his wife, Theresa (nee Volpe), step-son Richard King, Sr., daughters-in-law Carol King and Patricia Reed. His grandsons, William, James, Kevin Reed, Richard M. King, Jr. and granddaughters Mary Pat Schlifke, Debbie Henderson, Colleen Bayless and Joanne Ling along with 11 great grandchildren also survive him. He will be sadly missed by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 44th and Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City, where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. NUNEVILLER, CATHERINE M. (MURPHY), 75, of Millville, died Sunday at Lincoln Specialty Care of Vineland. She loved her family, who will miss her more than words can say. Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
BERENATO, EVELYN M. (nee Ford), 82, of Hammonton, died Sunday at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton. Born in Egg Harbor City, she was a resident of Hammonton for more than 70 years. Mrs. Berenato was predeceased by her daughter, Virginia Frassetto. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph E. Berenato; one son, Anthony J. Berenato of Hammonton; her grandchildren, Debra and Joseph Samuelson, Anna Berenato and her fiance Michael Warburton, Jamie Frassetto, all of Hammonton, Joseph and Stephanie Berenato of Lindenwold; her great grandchildren, Justin Berenato and Leah Cirillo, both of Hammonton. A viewing will be held Thursday 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's R.C. COHEN, SR., ERNEST EUGENE, 60, of Vineland, died May 31, 2003, at South Jersey Healthcare, Bridgeton Hospital. He was born in Broxton, Georgia and was a Vineland resident for over 30 years, moving from Newark.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Cohen, Vineland; sons, Ernest E. Cohen, Jr., Millville and Mark Cohen, Vineland; daughter, Jacqueline Cohen, Vineland; eight grand-children; several brothers and sisters.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville. Friends may call Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Rone Funeral Service. If so desired, contributions may be made to the family.
TIETSWORTH, RENEE M., 66, of Egg Harbor Township, passed away on June 1, 2003 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point. She was born in Helfenstein, PA. She was a Therapist. Renee was a member of the American Massage Association.
She is survived by her daughter Crystal Goldberg and husband David of Egg Harbor Township and a son, Lee Tietsworth and wife Elizabeth, of Greenback, TN; eleven grandchildren, Ruby Broughton of Woodbine, Jeremy Neill of Woodbine, Holly Neill of Johnstown, PA, Jeffery Neill of Egg Harbor Township, David Goldberg Jr. of Egg Harbor Township, Shane Tietsworth of Kingston VT, Candace Tietsworth of Burlington, VT, Blake Tietsworth of Kingston, NY, James Wood of Greenbank, TN, Janssen Wood of Greenbank, TN, and Daniel Stinnett of Greenbank, TN; a brother, Rev. Charles W. Hoy of Shreveport, Louisiana; nine great grandchildren and a host of other family and other relatives, preceded in death by her beloved husband and soul mate, Alvin M. Tietsworth in 1997.

WILSON, RUBY W., 100, of Northfield, died Sunday, June 1, 2003. Ruby was born in New Durham, NC. She worked as a head checker at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel for 29 years.
Ruby was the wife of the late George L. Wilson. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Gerstel and her grandchildren Richard, George and Mark LaGuardia and Patty, Gary, Bruce and Paul Gerstel. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and her sister, Mayme Harless.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ruby's Life Celebration Thursday evening, 7-9 p.m. and Friday 10:30-11:00 a.m. at Jeffries & Keates Funeral Home, Tilton Road and Infield Ave., Northfield. HANNON, JENNIE, 97, of Medford, died May 29, 2003 in Virtua West Jersey Hospital, Marlton. A longtime resident of Philadelphia and the Villas section of Lower Township, Mrs. Hannon moved to Medford Care Center two years ago.
Born Jennie Price in Philadelphia, she was raised in that city and married Joseph Patrick Hannon in 1924. Their son, Joseph Patrick Hannon died tragically before reaching his teenage years.
Mrs. Hannon worked for Philadelphia Gear Company during World War II in an effort to provide support at home and was sent to school to become a draftswoman. During her tenure at the Philadelphia Gear Company, she contributed to the development of a flame thrower and became an expert markswoman. She and her husband purchased property at 110 W. Drumbed Road in what was then the Wildwood Villas in 1952 to enjoy their summers at the seashore.
After her husband died in 1966, Mrs. Hannon continued to spend her summers in the Villas for 50 years. Her employment career included years of service with the Philadelphia Electric Company, where she eventually retired in 1969. She continued to maintain a home in Philadelphia, where she was a member of the Lutheran Church and several senior citizens organizations. An avid reader, she enjoyed acrostics, gardening and crafts.
She is survived by a niece, Patricia Hannon Dennison and her husband, Anthony J., of Medford; a nephew, John D. Hannon Jr. and his wife Sammaie, of New Bern, N.C.; great-nieces, Christiann Rodgers of Medford, Patricia Hannon of Maryland, and Jeannine D. Yecco of Wildwood Crest; and two great-nephews, John D. Hannon III of Colorado and Anthony J. Dennison III of Germany; and ten great-great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2002 at St. Petri Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6816 Jackson St., Philadelphia, where friends may call from 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Dominic's cemetery, Phila. WIEGAND, BEATRICE, 69, of San Diego, CA, formerly of Mays Landing, died Thursday, May 29, 2003. Bea was a blackjack dealer with Caesars. Casino for 20 years, retiring in 1999. Many people will also remember Bea as a substitute teacher in the EHT schools, mainly at EHTHS and the EHT Middle School.
She is survived by her son, Bob Wiegand and his wife, Franni and their son, Adam of San Diego, CA. Also surviving is her daughter Ruth and husband Steve Burke and heir daughter Sierra of Irvine, CA. She is also survived by sisters, Gail (Gil) Dembin of EHT, Karen Rhoades of Monmouth Junction, and brother Jonathan (Margaret) Johnsen of Buffalo, NY. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, especially Bill (Beth) Dembin of EHT and Marlene Dembin of AC. Those who with to may make a donation to their favorite environmental charity in Bea's memory.
CRITES, GRACE ANN (nee Glaven), 45, of Egg Harbor Township, passed away on June 1, 2003 in Egg Harbor Township. She was born in Atlantic City. She was Administrator of Health Benefits for Frank J. Siracusa Insurance Co. She was a devoted mother and wife. She was a Team Mother for her kids sports and school programs. She was a bingo player and was of the Catholic faith and was attending Our Lady's of Sorrow Catholic Church in Linwood.
She is survived by her husband, of 11 years, James Crites of Egg Harbor Township; two children, Keith Crites and Amanda Crites, also of Egg Harbor Township; and two sisters, Patricia Warren of Egg Harbor Township and Ann Wilson of NC. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be celebrated at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. The family will be receiving friends from 6 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Wednesday evening. NAPIER, FLORENCE C., 80, of Margate, died Monday, June 23, 2003, at the Meadowview Nursing Home, Williamstown.
Born in Scranton, PA she had been resident of this area since 1948. She had been a school nurse for the Atlantic City Public Schools until retiring in 1999 at the age of 76. She also had worked at the MDTA, the Atlantic City Hospital, served as a private duty nurse and had various other nursing positions in Southern, New Jersey. She belonged to the Grannies Club, the Caregivers and the Rosary Society.
She was the wife of the late William J. Napier and is survived by four sons, William J. (Patricia) of Egg Harbor Township, Richard (JoAnne) of Williamstown, Kevin J. (Felicia) of Bridgeton and Michael of Ventnor; two daughters, Anne Marie (John) Myhre, of Pitman, and Kathleen Napier of Margate; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 7300 Ventnor, Ventnor Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. An additional viewing will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church, Margate, Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Holy Cross cemetery, Mays Landing. MOONEY, TERESA MARIE "DOLLY", 75, of Margate, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2003 at Shore Memorial Hospital, Somers Point surrounded by her family to join her husband, Jimmy. Dolly enjoyed her family and friends. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament RC Church of Margate.
She is predeceased by her husband, James. She is survived by her sons, James C., Jr. and his wife Carol of Annandale, VA, John J., and Stephen M., both of Newport Beach, CA; her daughters, Nancy Mooney-D'Agusto and Suzanne Cohen and and her husband Alan, both of Somers Point; her three sisters, Peggy Krouse of Ventnor, Ellen Thoennes of Pauley's Island, SC, and Mary Kranz of Cape Cod; her two brothers, Jack Powers of Titusville, FL and Michael Powers of Cinnaminson; and her nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Katie, Lindsay, Nicole, Sean, Lacey, James, Julianne, and Lisa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 11 N. Kenyon Avenue, Margate. Burial will be at the Holy Cross Mausoleum, Mays Landing. Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.

HAINES, JOAN ELIZABETH, 66, of Palermo, on Saturday, June 28, 2003 at her home.
Born in Philadelphia, PA she had lived in the Ocean City area most of her life.
She was a graduate of Ocean City High School Class of 1955, attended Atlantic Community College and Galludet College in Washington, DC.
Mrs. Haines was a Teachers Aid for special needs children in the Upper Township Elementary School programs and had worked as a Construction Control person for the Township of Upper.
She had taught Sign Language for Upper Township, Somers Point and Ocean City Night School programs and gave sign language as a program in the Shore Memorial Hospital Wellness Program. Classes were also given in Ft. Pierce, FL at Spanish Lakes Fairways.
After retiring, summers were spent at B.L. England Golf Course, The Pines of Clermont and Heritage Links Golf Course.
She was a member of the Country Shore Women's Club, had served as a Brownie Leader in Ocean City and Marmora, was on the Board of the Cape May County Chapter of the Heart Association, was the First Upper Township Indians Cheerleading Coach, had served three years as president of the P.T.A., was a life member and had served as president for two years of the Marmora Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She had worked for the Republican Party at the polls for 20 years, was a member of the Omega Lamda PSI Sorority, ETA Chapter. She belonged to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Ocean City and St. Augustine of Canterby in Vero Beach, FL.
She is survived by her husband and caregiver Louis William "Bill" Haines of 45 years, a daughter: Patti-Jo Schoyer and her husband Robert of Beesley's Point, and the two most wonderful grandchildren: Katie Haines Schoyer and Meredith Joan Schoyer, Gods gift to her a son: Lewis William "Bill" Haines of Seaville and four grandpets: Bogie, Brisco, Mario and Maxine. Also surviving are her loving sissy: Carolyn Schenk Lea of Marmora, a step-sister: Mary Schenk-Wothers of Ocean City, five nieces, two nephews and their spouses, 11 grandnieces and nephews, one cousin: Mal Hiltner and her dear friends Dolores Evangelesi and Colleen Fansler.
She was predeceased by her parents Pat and Adam Schenk and Walter J. Waldis and her in-laws: Gilbert and Bertha Haines.
Friends may call Wednesday evening from seven until nine o'clock at the Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo.
Burial Office and Requiem Eucharist will be offered Thursday morning at ten o'clock from Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 30th Street at Bay Avenue, Ocean City. Burial will follow in Head of the River cemetery, Estell Manor.
