SACCO, FRANK C. 88, of Hammonton, died Saturday at home. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident. He was a truck driver for the Atlantic County Road Department until his retirement in 1977. Mr. Saco was an Army veteran of World War II, during which time he was a Prisoner of War in Germany. Mr. Sacco was a member of VFW Post 1026 in Hammonton.
He is survived by his two daughters and their spouses, Patricia and Brian Wahl of Marlton, Marcia and Stephen Duffy of Absecon; three grandsons, Christopher, Sean and Tyler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 11:00am in St. Joseph's Church, N. Third St. Hammonton. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Thursday morning 9:30am until 10:30am at Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton. JEMMERINO, LENA, 91, of Northfield, passed away on February 1, 2003 in Galloway Twp. Born in Camden and formerly of Voorhees, she was a Northfield resident since 1994.
Predeceased by her husband John, she is survived by her son Frank and his wife Kathy of Northfield, daughter Dolores and her husband Bill of Pawleys Island S.C., three grandchildren, Karen, Michele, Jennifer and two great grandchildren, Samantha and Justin.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 10am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Linwood. Friends may call at the church from 9:15 till time of Mass. Burial, Calvary cemetery, Cherry Hill. Arrangements by the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, Linwood.
RUIZ, MARTIN, 68, of Atlantic City, died Saturday, February 1, 2003, in the Atlantic City Medical Center. Mr. Ruiz was born in Mayaquez, P.R.
He had been a member of St. Mary's in Vineland and briefly a member of Holy Spirit in Atlantic City.
Mr. Ruiz was a Master Butcher in New York for 35 years, and after coming to this area, he retired as a Butcher at Taj Mahal Hotel Casino.
Surviving are: his wife, Rita of Atlantic City; a son, Martin, Jr. and wife, Tara of Atlantic City; two daughters, Susan Palmer and Barbara Palmer of Northfield; and Rita Love and husband Charles of Egg Harbor Township; brothers, Jose Manuel Ruiz of LA, Jose Enrique Ruiz of FL; Jose Lewis Ruiz of Bronx, NY, and Jose Antonio Rivera of FL; and Raymond Hernandez and wife Carmen of Vineland; two sisters, Monserrite Ruiz (his twin sister), and Carmen Victoria Ruiz, both of P.R.; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren; five nieces, six nephews; and host of relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2003 in St. Peter's Church, 25 W. Verona Blvd., Pleasantville, where friends may call from 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Zion cemetery, Bargaintown. Arrangements entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Home.
ZAYAS, JOSE ANTONIO, 44, of Galloway, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at his home, after a brief illness. Born in Cuamo, P.R., he had been an area resident for ten years.
Tony joined Second Baptist Church in 1995 where he was a faithful and dedicated member. He later became the church sexton in addition to being a very talented and gifted carpenter.
Surviving are: his wife, Raynae of Galloway; a stepdaughter, Imani Reed, at home; his parents, Antonio Colon of Las Vegas and Ida Zayas of Newark; his sisters and brothers, mary Santana (Adolfo) of Raleigh, NC, Gene Colon of Newark, JulieAnn Colon of Newark, Edwin Colon (Beatriz) of New York, Melinda Colon of Newark, Anna Colon (Aby Serrano) of Vineland, Marisol Hernandez (Daniel Moquete) of Newark, and Adrian Colon (Wendy) of Carteret; two uncles, John Zayas (Maria), and Frankie Zayas (Barbara); two aunts, Cruz Fuller and Audia Zayas; mother- in-law, Darrlyn Clark of Jackson; sister-in-law Darryl Brown of TX; five nieces, 13 nephews, one grandnephew and grandniece; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Tony was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Colon, and his maternal grandmother, Rosa Colon.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2003, in the Second Baptist Church, 110 Rev. Dr. I.S. Cole Plaza, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 9 a.m. Burial will be in Egg Harbor City cemetery, Egg Harbor. Arrangements entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Home.

MIDURE, CONCETTA, NEE BOMBARA 87, of Waterford, wife of the late Austin Sr., died Sunday, February 2, 2003 at W.B. Kessler Hospital, Hammonton. Born in Philadelphia, she was an area resident all her life. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society of St. Anthony Church, Waterford.
Surviving are four sons, Joseph (Mary Ann) and Cosimo (Lydia) both of Winslow, Austin Jr. (Marge) of Waterford and Leo Sr. (Cory) of Braddock; four daughters, Minnie (Joe) Gallo of Vineland, Nickie Craig wife of the late Charles (Bucky) of Waterford, Delores (Richard) Tomassetti of Elm, and Theresa Ensign wife of the late Donald of Tennessee; two brothers, John Bombara of Winslow and Sam Bombara of Waterford; one sister, Josephine Hollingshead of Waterford; one brother-in-law, Frank Speziali, husband of the late sister Cindy of Water; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

HOPEWELL, ALPHONSUS A., AL, 81, of Atlantic City, departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2003 at his residence. Born in St. Mary's Co. Maryland, he attended the local public schools and lived briefly in Port Norris, NJ and Asbury park, NJ prior to settling in Atlantic City many years ago. He worked on the boats in Port Norris as a skilled Oyster and clam shucker and later developed his own freelance style as a professional Cook. A member of St. Monica Roman Catholic Church, he was lastly employed as a Cook at Resort's International Hotel-Casino until he officially retired. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hopewell and he leaves to cherish his fond memories: a beloved companion and fianc‚ for over 20 years, Evelyn Ewart of Atlantic City; three daughters, Alvina Hopewell of New Born, NC, Denise R. Hopewell of Vineland and Allison D. Hopewell of Atlantic City; three sons, Jack Chase of Jacob, MD., Arthur Church of Millville, and Michael Hopewell of Orange Co., CA; one brother, John Hopewell of Pleasantville, (three sisters, Edith, Joan and Libby, and two brothers, James and Thomas, all preceded him in death); 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and many friends. PRIMAS, GARY JAY, 65, of Alloway, on January 27, 2003. He served two tours of duty in the US Air Force. He was the former manager of A-Z Maintenance Co. in Glassboro. He retired from the US Postal service, and he was a bus driver for Salem Transit Co. and NJ Transit Co. In addition, he was the vice-president of Surcre Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, Ella; sister, Juanita Saunders (Camden); sisters-in-law, Margo Francis (Clementon) and Yuvonne Smith (Pleasantville_; brother-in-law, Portress Hardy, Jr. (Baltimore); mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ella and Portress Hardy, Sr. (Atlantic City); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and his dog, Blondie Francis. Interment was private.
WILLIAMS, THYRA STOKKING, 75, of Absecon, on Sunday at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Atlantic City, she has been an area resident all of her life. She was the Supervising Clerk for the Atlantic County Clerk's office in Mays Landing and had also worked at the Margate School Library. Mrs. Williams had also been a Pit Clerk at Trump Castle and the Golden Nugget.
She was a volunteer at Meadowview Nursing Home in the recreation department. she was formerly a member of the Sweet Adeline3's and had also been in the cast of several performances of the Showmakers Guild. Mrs. Williams attended the Moore School of Art in Philadelphia where she majored in fashion design.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dr. Carole-Rae Reed of Absecon and Janine A. Williams of Las Vegas; one grandson, Keith W. Fagan of Brigantine; one brother, William Stokking and his wife Nancy of Medford and several nieces and nephews.
Burial Office and Eucharist will be held at noon on Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church in Somers Point. Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Road, Linwood and again from 11:30 Thursday morning until the time of services at the church. burial will be at Laurel Memorial Park, Pomona. memorial contributions may be made to the Joan Karnell Cancer Center, 230 W. LIGHT, MARJORIE, 97, of Wildwood Crest, passed away Friday, January 31, 2003 at the Oceana Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Cape May Court House.
Surviving are her nephew, Bernard Goldinger, 3 nieces, Lenore Smythe, Kate Coleman, and Susan Anson.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2003, 3:30 pm at the Woodbine Brotherhood cemetery in Woodbine. (Ingersoll-Greenwood)
SUDOL, WALTER 83, of Somers Point, On Thursday, April 10, 2003 in North Cape Nursing Home, North Cape May.
Born In Passaic, NJ he had lived in Ocean City and Woodbine, before moving to Somers Point in 1958. Mr. Sudol was the Carpenter with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 623.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from July 11, 1942 until his Honorable Discharge on December 24, 1944. During his military service he was awarded the Purple Heart. He Was Member Of V.F.W. Post 2189 in Somers Point.
Surviving are two sons: Walter Sudol Of North Cape May, and Gerry Sudol Of Hamilton Township, and a daughter Marion Travis Rose of Hartford, CT. Also surviving are a nephew: Stanley Sudol of Palermo, and five grandchildren; Valdo Sudol, Claire Loges, John Jakubaitis, Kelley Sudol, And Ben Sudol.
His funeral service will be offered Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo where friends may call from ten o'clock until time of service.
Burial will follow in Atlantic County Veterans cemetery, Estelle Manor.
BISHOP, HELEN M. 86, of Ocean City, NJ on Saturday, April 12, 2003, in Ocean Point Health Care Center, Somers Point, NJ. Born in Jenkintown, Pa. she had lived in Mt. Airy, Pa before moving to Ocean City in 1973.
Ms. Bishop was a waitress at the Port-O-Call and The Flanders. Both in Ocean City, New Jersey and also at Daniels in Somers Point, New Jersey. She was also a member of the Ocean City Baptist Church.
Surviving are one sister, Irene B. Lukens of Ocean City, NJ and one nephew, Michael Lukens of Ocean City, New Jersey.
Services will be private and at the convenience of her family.
GRINER, ALICE D. 84, of Bridgeton, died Saturday at home after a brief illness. Born in Stowe Creek, NJ, she had lived in Millville for over 62 years prior to moving to Bridgeton.
Mrs. Griner was a homemaker and the wife of the late Lorin Griner. She was a former member of the Central Baptist Church in Millville. Mrs. Griner enjoyed collecting and refinishing antiques, gardening, sewing and traveling. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Andrews of Millville, three sisters, Mildred Howell of Quinton, NJ, Rita Ravior of Upper Deerfield, NJ, and Mary Green of Bridgeton, NJ. Mrs. Griner also is survived by 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

BRIGHT, LUCILLE N. 84, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Friday, April 11, 2003, at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. She was born in Bogue, KS and lived in this area for over fifty years. She retired as Assistant Secretary of Cape Savings Bank after 27 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking, quilting and traveling with her late husband, Lewis C. who died April 20, 1991.
She is survived by three daughters: Lynn M. of Cape May Court House; Berniece L. of Del Haven, NJ and Kay E. of Goshen; two sisters: Cova Fink of Hill City, KS and Melva Jean Coats of Bogue, KS; a brother: Marvin Middleton, of Hill City, KS and a sister-in-law, Clara Fath of Titusville, FL, formerly of Wildwood, NJ.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ. where friends may call at Noon until 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery. SURACE, ANGELINA M. 94, of Vineland, died on Saturday in the Bishop McCarthy residence in Vineland. Angelina was born in Brooklyn and had resided in New York City for 75 years before moving to Vineland in 1985. She was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Raffaella Genoese Surace.
Angelina went to work at the age of 15 for the Schraders Metal Manufacturing Co. where she retired as an inspector in 1964 with 43 years of service. She attended the St. Isidores RC Church. She enjoyed shopping and visiting Atlantic City. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday in the St. Isidores RC Church, 1655 Magnolia Rd., Vineland followed by entombment in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 AM at the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Rd., Vineland, NJ.
