Anthony Wheeler
Anthony Ashley Wheeler, 42, of Roselle, a security expert and volunteer, died June 14 in St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston.
Born in New York City, Mr. Wheeler lived in Newark and East Orange before moving to Roselle 15 years ago. He was part-owner of the brokers Entertainment and Sports Club, Irvington, and owner and operator of Tone’s Security, which specialized in protecting entertainers and athletes throughout the United States and London. Mr. Wheeler also worked for the Essex County Vocational and Technical Schools as a security officer in West Orange.
Previously, he was director of security for the Berger Hotel Corp., which provided security at Club 88, East Orange, Club Zanzibar, Newark, and the Peppermint Lounge, Orange. Mr. Wheeler also worked as a loading dock officer for Brick Church Appliance.
Earlier, he worked for the New Community Corp., Newark, and was a lieutenant for Security Operation Systems, supervising all security officers at Pabst Blue Ribbon, Newark.
Mr. Wheeler was an advocate for kidney and diabetic patients throughout New Jersey. He established a non-profit organization, Kidney Awareness Program, in 2003. With the help of the Sharing Network, Mr. Wheeler and other volunteers educated others about the signs of kidney failure and diabetes awareness.
He also began the Men of “88,” where he and four other men implemented a non-profit organization that educates the community on health awareness issues through activities such as fashion shows, teen parties and children’s plays.
As the organization grew, it was renamed The men of “88” and Associates Inc. Mr. Wheeler was a mason at the Mount Herman Lodge 210. On May 13, he received an award from the Today’s Black Women publication.
Surviving are his wife, Billie; a daughter, Tina Blanding; four sons, James, Chris, Bruce and Terrance; a stepdaughter, Amanda Bailey; a stepson, Mark Bailey; his mother, Catherine Byrd, and three brothers, Frederick Smith and Victor and Roderick Wheeler.
Helen Rauh
Helen Rauh, 82, a lifelong resident of Rahway, died June 25 at home.
Mrs. Rauh was born in Manhattan. She was a quality control inspector for M&R Marketing Systems, Piscataway, for 15 years, retiring in 1998. Prior to that, Mrs. Rauh worked for ITT Corp., Clark, for five years and RCA, Woodbridge, for 24 years. During World War II, she assembled airplanes at a General Motors plant in Linden.
Surviving are a son, George A. Jr.; three daughters, Dorothy H. Rauh, Noralynn Roman and Patricia A. Pascale-Mangano; two brothers, Anthony and Matthew Sacripanti; a sister, Jean Sacripanti; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Larry Williams
Larry Williams, 56, of Roselle died June 23 in Trinitas Hospital, Elizabeth.
Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Williams lived in Roselle for 14 years. He was a purchasing agent with the Elizabeth Housing Authority for 30 years. Mr. Williams received a degree in purchasing from Rutgers University.
Surviving are his wife, Debi; six sons, Brad, Philip, Vinnie, John, Mathew and Larry Jr.; three daughters, Renee Sales, Stephanie Dixon and Taylor Williams; two brothers, Anthony and George; two sisters, Cynthia Williams and L. Michele Bolden, and five grandchildren.
Charles Rihimann Sr.
Charles S. Rihimann Sr., 54, of Linden died June 23 in Community Medical Center, Toms River.
Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Rihimann lived in Linden for many years.
He was an auto technician at Sullivan Chevrolet, Roselle Park, for many years before retiring.
Surviving are two sons, Charles and Eric; a twin brother, Gerald, and two sisters, Kerry and Jacquelyn McCabe.

Jazmin Robinson
Jazmin Jamal Robinson, 29, of Linden died June 24 in Seat Pleasant, Md.
Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Robinson lived in Laurel, Md., before moving to Linden three years ago.
He owned R&R Town Car Service, Livingston. Mr. Robinson served in the Army Reserve.
Surviving are a son, Khadir; his mother, Joyce Manresa; two brothers, Ilyas Mulhammad and Otis; two sisters, Edith Parker and Renee Shepard, and his grandmother, Jane Robinson.
Eugenia Guida
Eugenia “Gina” Guida, 70, of Linden, formerly of Springfield, died June 27 in Trinitas Hospital, Elizabeth.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Guida lived in Springfield before moving to Linden six years ago.
Surviving are her husband, Frank J.; two sons, Frank J. Jr. and Robert; a brother, Daniel Marianino, and a sister, Margaret Moore.
Marie Aznar
Marie “Mickey” Aznar, 79, of Rahway, formerly of Clark, died June 29 at home.
Born in Elizabeth, Mrs. Aznar lived in Clark before moving to Rahway 15 years ago.
Surviving are two daughters, Jo Ann Fitzgerald and Jaquelyn Faryna; a son, Joseph; two brothers, Jacob and William Rowe; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Barbara Atherton
Barbara Atherton, 76, of Linden, formerly of Cranford, died June 28 in Robert Wood Johnson Unversity Hospital at Rahway.,
Born in Linden, Mrs. Atherton lived in Cranford before moving back to Linden in 1993.
She was a factory worker for Monsanto Co., Kenilworth, for 15 years before retiring in 1982.
Surviving are two sons, John and Thomas F.; three daughters, Barbara Daniele, Mary Jane Keenan and Margaret M.; a brother, William Sacks; a sister, Dorothy Klee, and two grandchildren.
Luther Thompson
Luther Thompson, 67, of Elizabeth died June 24 in Trinitas Hospital, Elizabeth.
Born in Chester, S.C., Mr. Thompson lived in Elizabeth for 40 years. He was a b back hoe operator for more than 30 years.
Surviving are two brothers, William and Lucius.
Roberto Rodriguez
Roberto E. Rodriguez, 60, of Elizabeth died June 25 in Trinitas Hospital, Elizabeth.
Born in San Marcos, Guatemala, Mr. Rodriguez came to Elizabeth in 1971. He was a laboratory technician for Riverdale Color Inc., Perth Amboy, for six years before retiring this past March.
Surviving are a son, Roberto II; a daughter, Laura; his father, Roberto Rodriguez; two brothers, Angel and Cesar; three sisters, Juliette Maidonado, Lydia and Marion Rodriguez, and four grandchildren.
Margaret Wallin
Margaret Wallin, 90, of Edison, formerly of Elizabeth, died June 25 in JFK Medical Center, Edison.
Born in Elizabeth, Mrs. Wallin lived in Roselle Park and Elizabeth again before moving to Edison last year. She was a secretary at Burry Biscuit Co., Elizabeth, for 20 years before retiring 21 years ago. Mrs. Wallin was a member of the Rosary Society and Leisure Group at St. Genevieve’s Church, Elizabeth. She also was a member of the Cranford Chapter of the American Association for Retired Persons.
Surviving are a son, Carl; three daughters, Barbara Randazza, JoAnn Ferrador and Lorraine Furilla; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Genevieve Zagurek
Genevieve “Jean” Zagurek, a lifelong resident of Elizabeth, and a prominent figure in the Polish-American community, died June 24 in Trinitas Hospital, Elizabeth.
Mrs.Zagurek was a teacher, vice principal, guidance counselor and glee club director at St. Adalbert’s School, Elizabeth, where she worked for 25 years.
She served in the parish council and received a 20-year award from Archbishop Thomas A. Boland. Mrs. Zagurek was a former officer with the Greater Elizabeth Democratic Association.
She participated in the Women’s Division of the Democratic State Committee of New Jersey in Trenton and was a former committeewoman for the 5th Ward.
Mrs. Zagurek was the first woman constable in Union County. She was a candidate for freeholder and a member of the Union County Democratic Women’s Club, the Elmora Third Ward Association Inc. in Elizabeth and the Union County Narcotics Committee.
She was recognized as the “First Lady of Polonia” at numerous ceremonial events of the Polish-American community, was a charter member and officer of the Elizabeth Federation of Polish Organizations and led the Elizabeth contingent in the Pulaski parade in 1967. She was a parade participant since the 1940s and was a charter member of the General Pulaski Memorial Committee of New York City.
In 1975, Mrs. Zagurek led 130,000 marchers along Fifth Avenue in New York City as grand marshal of the entire parade. In 1983, when her husband, the late Michael J. Zagurek Sr., was grand marshall, she was featured in newspaper photos hugging President Ronald Reagan at a pre-parade banquet.
Mrs. Zagurek was chairwoman of the Annual Polish Constitution Day Observance and the annual Polish Day programs in Elizabeth, and of both the 25th and 40th anniversaries of the Elizabeth Federation of Polish Organizations.
She was a delegate to the state chapter of the Polish-American Congress, among many other activities.
Surviving are a son, Michael J. Jr.; a brother, Edward Funk, and a sister, Charlotte Krowicki.
Florence Iasello
Florence Iasello, 77, of Brick, formerly of Elizabeth, died June 26 at the Claremont Care Center, Point Pleasant. Born in Newark, Mrs. Iasello lived in Elizabeth for many years before moving to Brick 11 years ago. She worked as church clerk for St. James Church, Newark, for many years before retiring.
Surviving are her husband, James D.; a son, James E.; four daughters, Diane Tufano, Lucille Salvatore, Valerie Matos and Bernadette Orlando; a brother, the Rev. Eugene Marcone; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
