Ernest Emerson DeNault
Wall Township resident Ernest Emerson DeNault died Monday, March 20 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 68 years old.
Born in Jersey City, Mr. DeNault lived in Kearny and North Arlington, before living in Linden for 40 years and then moving to Wall one year ago. He had been employed as a pressman with Scott Printing, Jersey City, and later in New Providence. He was a member of the Amalgamated Lithographers of America, Local #1, New York City, for 40 years.
Mr. DeNault is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Boitt DeNault; his sons, and their wives, Glen E. an Melissa, Brodheadsville, Pa., and Eric T. and Michele, Linden; his sister, Alice McAvoy, Forked River; and his four grandchildren, T.J., Victoria R., Mariel T., and Stephanie L.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the O’Brien Funeral Home, Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of Ascension, Bradley Beach. Visiting will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Interment will be at St. Anne’s cemetery, Wall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury, 07702.
Mildred Warner Munroe
Brielle resident Mildred Warner Munroe died Friday, March 17 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, N.Y.
She was 75 years old.
Mrs. Munroe was born on June 8, 1932 in Elizabeth, to Bessi Burton and Harry J. Warner, who retired in Brielle. She was a beloved mother and teacher and guide.
Mrs. Munroe is survived by her children, Paul Gilman, Philip and Carol Gilman, Emily and Dennis Beezley, and Mimi Munroe; her seven delightful grandchildren; her sister, Edith Galloway and Elinor Homan; and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and others.
A remembrance will be held on Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County Meetinghouse 1475 West Front Street, Lincroft.

Arthur Beer Jr.
Lakewood resident Arthur Wainwright Beer Jr., formerly of Manasquan, died Wednesday, April 19 in his home.
He was 67 years old.
Art was born and raised in Manasquan and resided in Bridgewater, returning to Manasquan, and had lived in Lakewood for the past six years.
Art was a member of the United Methodist Church of Manasquan; Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He served in the United States Army, ASA Special Services Unit, stationed in Anchorage, Ala., and went to the US Power Squadron for seamanship courses.
He served as a board of trustees member and president for Greenwood cemetery, Brielle, and was a member of Thompson’s Beach Duck Club for over 25 years.
Art graduated from Manasquan High School and attended Monmouth University. He was employed by Jim’s Rowboats, Manasquan, and was also a sports fishing mate on charter boats in Brielle, Stuart, Fla., and the Bahamas.
For 39 years, Art served as production manager, treasurer, president, board member, and eventually owner of Lithoid Printing Corp., East Brunswick, where he worked with his two sons.
He was predeceased by his father, Arthur W. Sr.; and his sister, Patricia Queen.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Joyce Harrell Beer; his mother, Gertrude Beer, Lakewood; his brother, Brian Beer, Manasquan; his sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Debbie Beer, Monroe, and Michael and Kerry Beer, Wall; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Kay and Tim Wagner, Bucks County, Pa.; as well as nine adoring grandchildren: Katelyn, Kristina, Kimberly, Timothy Jr., Jonathon, Joshua, Caroline, Emily and Michael Jr.

Gertrude McGraw
Manasquan resident Gertrude Ann Behring McGraw, formerly of Spring Lake, died Wednesday, April 19 surrounded by her loving family.
She was 80 years old.
Born in Jersey City, Gertrude was a graduate of Synder High School, Jersey City, and the Traphagen School of Fashion, New York City.
Prior to raising her family, she was a buyer in the millinary department at Oppenheim Collins, New York City.
She was an avid reader, a talented artist, loved completing The New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle, the Spring Lake beach, and most of all, to be in the midst of her adoring family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, William J.
She is survived by her daughters: Luann McGraw Russell and her husband, Jay, Manasquan, Jane McGraw-Teubner and her husband, Richard, East Northport, N.Y., Laurie McGraw, Lake Como, Jacqueline Roseman and her husband, Gregory; and by her son, William. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Christopher and his wife, Micheala, Colin, Brynn and Meredith Carhart, Keara, Connor, Shauna and Ian McGraw, Kaitlin Roseman; and a great-granddaughter, Lillian Grace Carhart.

Anna T. Centanni
Spring Lake resident Anna T. Centanni died Saturday, April 22 in Sunrise Assisted Living, Wall Township.
She was 100 years old.
Mrs. Centanni was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and lived in Newark for 25 years before coming to Spring Lake.
She was employed as a secretary for Mutual Benefit Insurance Co. in Newark before retiring.
She was a communicant of St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake, where she was active with the sewing guild for many years.
Mrs. Centanni was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Centanni; her sister, Annette Antastasia; and her brother, Harry Galella.
She is survived by a brother, Alfred Biondi, Spring Lake.

Marion P. O’Donnell
Sea Girt resident Marion P. Staunton O’Donnell died Thursday, April 20 in Care One, Wall Township.
She was 74 years old.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, she had lived in Yorktown Heights from 1970 until 1998 when she moved to Sea Girt.
She had been employed as a registered nurse, receiving her formal training at Kings County Hospital, School of Nursing, Brooklyn, N.Y. After this, Mrs. O’Donnell had worked for the American Red Cross, Brooklyn, N.Y., the Hudson Valley Blood Program, Westchester, and most recently at the Visiting Nurse Association of New Jersey, Eatontown.
As a resident of New York she was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Brooklyn, and St. Patrick’s Church, Yorktown Heights. Since moving to Sea Girt, Mrs. O’Donnell was a communicant of St. Mark’s Church, Sea Girt and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the social concerns committee of the church. She was also a member of the VNA of New Jersey Senior Wellness Program and the Women of Irish Heritage of the Jersey Shore.
Among her many interests, Mrs. O’Donnell enjoyed all gatherings with family and friends, her many trips with Ray, she was an avid reader and an accomplished gardener and landscaper, and had a special touch with roses. Marion most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially summers at the beach.
She was predeceased by her parents, John P. and Margaret Doonan Staunton, County Mayo, Ireland.
Marion is survived by her husband of 51 years, Raymond P.; four sons, John P., Tucson, Ariz., Raymond T. and his wife, Lisa, Falmouth, Maine, Brian J., White Plains, N.Y., and Michael S. and his wife, Mary O’Donnell, Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; two daughters, Kathleen and her husband, Noel Belli, Ridgewood and Margaret and her husband, William Taylor, Brookfield, Conn.; and nine grandchildren.

Thomas Ryan
Spring Lake resident Thomas Herbert Ryan died peacefully on Friday, April 21 in Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, New York City.
He was 78 years old.
Mr. Ryan was born in Richmond Hill, Queens, N.Y., on Sept. 4, 1927, and lived in New York City before moving to Spring Lake.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, in which he served as a special agent of the Army’s Counter Intelligence Corps.
After World War II, Mr. Ryan received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and his juris doctorate degree from New York University School of Law. He was admitted to the New York State Bar Association in 1950 and began his distinguished legal career as Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the State of New York.
Mr. Ryan then joined CBS as one of the first legal consultants for programming and talent, and it was there that he met his loving wife, Shirley, in 1952. Mr. Ryan left CBS in 1963 to join Leland Hayward, the Broadway and television producer, and he was essential in producing numerous shows, including the American version of “That Was the Week That Was.” In 1969, he began his private entertainment law practice, from which he never retired.
In addition to numerous other credits, Mr. Ryan became the counselor-negotiator for cherished friend and colleague, Claire Labine and Paul Avra Mayer, who were packaging the daytime drama, “Ryan’s Hope” for ABC-TV [the name of the series was a happy coincidence]. Mr. Ryan represented Labine-Mayer nationally and internationally for 32 years and in 1993 negotiated the first international format deal for an American soap opera with Endemol Productions. The Dutch version of “Ryan’s Hope,” “Onderwag naar Morgen” is still on the air. In 1980, Mr. Ryan co-produced with Mrs. Labine in Ireland the feature film, “Lovespell” with Richard Burton and Kate Mulgrew. At the time of his death, he was representing various Labine-Mayer projects in development.
Mr. Ryan is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; his adoring daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Michael Bellefeuille, Mary and Andrew Dawson, Sharon Ryan and Patricia Ryan and Andrew Farnsworth; and his five cherished grandchildren: Samantha, Thomas and Sara Bellefeuille, and Jack and Max Dawson.

Catherine V. Heaney
Wall Township resident Catherine V. Vadas Heaney, formerly of Spring Lake, died Sunday, April 23 in her home in Waterford Glen.
She was 89 years old.
Mrs. Heaney was born in Bradenville, Pa, one of 13 children. She was a seamstress at Roxanne Swimsuits, Neptune for many years, retiring in 1989.
She was predeceased by her husband, James B. Heaney, in 1968.
She is survived by two brothers, Michael, West Palm Beach, Fla., George, Bradensville, Pa.; sister, Jane Kahl, Lake Worth, Fla. She is also survived by her five children, Maureen Terrafranca and her husband, John, Mahwah, Hugh Heaney, Brick Township, Kevin Heaney, Sarasota, Fla., Helen Krohel and her husband, Ken, Indian Rocks Beach, Fla., and Pat Heaney and her husband, Dan McCullough, Howell; three grandchildren, Loren Bartole, Little Rock, Ark., Beth Terrafranca, Palisades Park and Kelly Krohel, Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.; and two great grandchildren, Mattingly and Montana Bartole.
Funeral Mass will be held today at, 9:30 a.m. at St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic. Church, Spring Lake. Burial will follow at St. Catharine’s cemetery, Wall Township. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Collier Services, 160 Conover Road, Wickatunk, 07765

Elizabeth Belding
Brielle resident Elizabeth Marcella Belding died Monday, April 24 in her home.
Born in North Adams, Mass., Mrs. Belding resided in Ridgewood, before moving to Brielle 39 years ago. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Belding was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Manasquan and belonged to the Church’s Women’s Circle, co-chaired the Christmas bazaar, taught in the Sunday school and worked on the rummage sale.
She was a volunteer at the VNA Thrift Shop, Manasquan, for over 25 years. Mrs. Belding belonged to the North Shore Antique Auto Club and the Spring Lake Heights Trendsetters.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Belding; her sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Florence Belding, Kendall Park, Jay and Barbara Belding, Upper Makefield Township, Pa., Douglas and Cara Belding, San Diego, Calif. and Timothy Belding, Brielle; her daughters and son-in-law, Susan Belding, New York, N.Y. and Jennifer and Joe McGuire, Brielle; a sister, Jean Penwell, Washington Court House, Ohio; her grandchildren: Christopher, Danielle, Katherine, and Jonathan Belding and Jamie, Julia and Jack McGuire; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Manasquan. Interment will follow in Greenwood cemetery, Brielle. Visiting hours will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South St., Manasquan. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Memorial Fund of the First Presbyterian Church, 16 Virginia Ave., Manasquan.
Grace M. Barry
Sea Girt resident Grace M. Barry died Saturday, April 22 in Care One at Wall, Wall Township.
She was 87 years old.
Born and raised in Jersey City, she had been a longtime resident of Sea Girt.
Ms. Barry was employed as an underwriter with Aon Corporation in New York City before retiring.
She was predeceased by her brother, John H. Barry; and her sisters, Loretta Briody and Helen and Evelyn Barry.
A funeral will be held today, beginning at 9 a.m. the O’Brien Funeral Home, Route 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall Township. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mark’s Church, Sea Girt at 9:30 a.m., followed by committal at St. Catharine’s cemetery, Wall.
