Muriel “Bobbie” Clark
Wall Township resident Muriel “Bobbie” Clark died Monday, Sept. 12 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
She was 90 years old.
Born in Jersey City, Mrs. Clark lived there and North Bergen before moving to Wall more than 25 years ago. She was employed as a secretary for Reconstruction Finance Corp., New York City, and the Jersey City Board of Education before assisting her husband in his business, Clark Associates, Wall. Mrs. Clark was a graduate of St. Aloysius Academy, Jersey City, and attended College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station.
She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, James P. Clark in 1989. Also deceased is her brother, Thomas O.P. Lally; her sister, Winifred Verbout and her nephew, Thomas Verbout.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her nephew, Thomas Lally; nieces Betty Ann Connolly, Mary Patricia Lally and Anne Osman.
Friends may call this Saturday, Sept. 17, at 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. prior to teh 9:30 Funeral Mass at St. Denis Catholic Church, Manasquan. Interment will follow in Greenwood cemetery, Brielle. Neary-Quinn Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
Stella Reilly McCabe
Centerville, Mass. resident Stella Reilly McCabe, whose daughter Judith McCabe resides in Manasquan, died Monday, Sept. 5, at Eagle Pond Rehabilitation and Living Center in South Dennis, Mass., after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
She was 94 years old.
Born in County Louth, Ireland, Mrs. McCabe lived in Newark and East Orange, before moving to Centerville, Mass. in 1980. She was a longtime summer resident of West Harwich, Mass. Mrs. McCabe retired as comptroller from Ward Baking Company. Mrs. McCabe was a communicant at Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville and was a member of the Women’s Sewing Circle at the church. She was an avid gardener and was known for her culturing of Jersey tomatoes that were the envy of the neighborhood. Mrs. McCabe loved the sea and found great comfort from it. She will be missed by all.
Mrs. McCabe was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Thomas J. in 2004, and her son, Thomas T. in 1999.
In addition to her daughter Judith, she is survived by a brother, Thomas of Dundalk, Ireland; a daughter-in-law, Carol McCabe of Mulkitio, Wash.; grandsons Thomas S. Kirkland, Wash., and Michael D. and his wife Magda of Sammanish, Wash.; two great-grandchildren, Michael G. and Marianna M., and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was arranged by John-Lawrence Funeral Home, Marstons Mills, Mass.
Christina M. Trotter Porter
Brielle and New York City resident Christina M. Trotter Porter died Monday, Sept. 19 at Care One, Wall Township.
She was 89 years old.
Born, raised and educated in New Bedford, Mass., after her marriage, Mrs. Porter moved to New York City, where she worked at Metropolitan Re-insurance Company and later International Paper from which Mrs. Porter retired in 1985. She and her husband owned and operated Fort Washington Liquor Store for many years and after his death, she remained the sole proprietor for 10 years. Mrs. Porter was a member of the Belmar Woman’s Club, where she served on the Social Service-Home Life, International Affairs, Hospitality and Conservation & Garden committees for many years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Bridget Trotter; her husband of 31 years, Stanley Porter Sr.; a stepson, Stanley Porter Jr.; two brothers, Michael and James Trotter and two sisters, Mary and Beatrice “Peg” Trotter.
Mrs. Porter is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Maureen E. and Gerald R. Dahms of Shark River Hills, as well as four grandchildren: Mary Ann Herbert, Rebecca Gorham, Rachael and Mark Gilmartin.

Rhoda E. Heney
Former Manasquan resident Rhoda E. Heney died Sunday, Sept. 4 in her home.
She was 82 years old.
Mrs. Heney lived in Manasquan all her life until she retired to central Florida in 1980. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and Court St. Jude No. 2202 of Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Mrs. Heney enjoyed gardening and was an excellent seamstress.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard, in 1997 and her son, Tom, in 1991.
Mrs. Heney is survived by her daughter, Susan, and grandson, Robert Hagaman.
Morris Funeral Home handled the funeral arrangements. Donations in Mrs. Heney’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Audrey Thermann
Spring Lake resident Audrey Thermann died Monday, Sept. 12 in her home.
She was 78 years old.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Thermann lived in Belmar before moving to Spring Lake in 1958. She was a receptionist for Dr. Kulaga of Spring Lake before her retirement many years ago. Mrs. Thermann was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Historical Society, all of Spring Lake, and a member of Ocean Chapter No. 214 Order of the Eastern Star of Wall Township. She attended Belmar Elementary School and graduated from Manasquan High School.
Mrs. Thermann was predeceased by her husband, Walter, in 2002.
She is survived by one son, Edward Thermann of Spring Lake; one daughter, Lynn Budach of Spring Lake; a granddaughter, Tammi Earley of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Nicholas.

Harriet Aruta Cox
Wall Township resident Harriet Aruta Cox died Monday, Sept. 12 at the Medicenter in Neptune City.
She was 83 years old.
Born in North Bergen, Mrs. Cox lived in Howell before coming to Wall four years ago. She was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother and a loving great-grandmother.
Mrs. Cox was predeceased by her husband, Albert, in 1995, and by 11 siblings.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Caprioni and Sharon Monaghan; her grandchildren, Michael Caprioni, Janine Palmisano and Michael and Shannon Da Cruz, and her great-grandchildren, Christian Caprioni and Madison and Joseph Palmisano. She also leaves behind a sister, Sarah McKeon.

Carol F. Lynch
Sea Girt resident Carol F. Lynch, formerly of Park Ridge, died Thursday, Sept. 15 at the Medical Center of Ocean County, Brick.
She was 62 years old.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., Mrs. Lynch lived in West Belmar and Park Ridge for 27 years before moving to Sea Girt four years ago. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Cox was also a communicant of St. Catharine’s/St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church in Spring Lake.
She was predeceased by her father, Andrew McNally, in 1983.
Mrs. Lynch is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Patrick J. Lynch; her children, Patrick J. of Hoboken, Timothy A. of Manasquan and Kerryn E. of Belmar; her mother, Helen McNally of West Belmar and her brother, Andrew McNally of Brick.
The funeral arrangements were handled by O’Brien Funeral Home.

Antonio Bongiovanni
Spring Lake Heights resident Antonio Bongiovanni died Thursday, Sept. 15 at the Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 74 years old.
Born in San Pier Niceto, Sicily, Mr. Bongiovanni lived in Edison for 30 years before moving to Spring Lake Heights. He was employed at Bond Clothing in New Brunswick for many years. Mr. Bongiovanni loved gardening and cherished his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, Pietro and Maria Bongiovanni.
Mr. Bongiovanni is survived by his wife of 47 years, Irene DiIorio; his son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Eve of Spring Lake Heights; his daughter and son-in-law, Lina and Steve Negrey of Wall Township and three sisters, Francesca Bongiovanni and Maria Formica of North Brunswick and Sara Milano of Franklin Park.
He is the grandfather of Joseph, Francesca, Cristina, Antonio, Peter, Leandro, Johnny D. and Eve Irene.

Mary Ann T. Lubeck
Manasquan resident Mary Ann T. Lubeck died Saturday, Sept. 17 in her home after a long illness.
She was 88 years old.
Born in New Brunswick, Mrs. Lubeck lived in North Plainfield for 30 years before moving to her summer home in Manasquan five years ago. She was a homemaker and a retired registered nurse. Mrs. Lubeck was a 1938 graduate of St. Barnabas Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as a nurse with General Motors, Eastern Aircraft Division in Linden during World War II before retiring to raise her family. She was a communicant of St. Denis Catholic Church, Manasquan, and a member of the Catholic Women’s Club of Plainfield.
Mrs. Lubeck was predeceased by her daughter, Jo Ann Moran, in 1995; as well as her three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Joseph C. Lubeck; a son, Joseph J. of Manasquan; a daughter, Virginia Philips of Deerfield Beach, Fla. and her brother, Thomas Fosbre of Hyanisport, Mass. She is a grandmother to Mark and Shane.

Dorothy M. Fairbanks
Manasquan resident Dorothy M. Fairbanks died Friday, Sept. 16 at the Claremont Care Center, Point Pleasant.
She was 86 years old.
Born in Irvington, Mrs. Fairbanks resided in Spring Lake Heights and Manasquan. A homemaker, she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Girl Scouts and the P.T.A., all at St. Catharine’s Parish in Spring Lake.
Mrs. Fairbanks was predeceased by her husband Russell G. Fairbanks, who died in January 2005.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Robert Palmer of Spring Lake Heights and her grandsons, Joseph R. Palmer and Robert [Rusty] Palmer and his fiancee Kate Lanton.

Janet M. Hackman
Former Sea Girt resident Janet M. Hackman died Wednesday, Sept. 14 in her daughter’s home in Idaho.
She was 89 years old.
Born in Red Bank, Mrs. Hackman lived most of her adult life in Sea Girt. At the time of her passing, she was living in Preston, Idaho with her daughter, Muriel. Mrs. Hackman was a “Sweet Adeline” choir member for over 40 years.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Hokins of Middletown, Del.; her sister, Helen Harris of Neptune City; her children, Muriel M. Garvis of Preston, Idaho, Marjorie Hurley of Hollywood, Fla., James F. Hackman of Sea Girt and Jeana M. Grady of Boston, Mass. and 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Helen B. Laws
Manasquan resident Helen B. Laws recently died.
She was 97 years old.
Mrs. Laws served and worshiped faithfully for over 70 years at the Shiloh Baptist Church, Manasquan.
Her life will be celebrated at 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 25 at the Shiloh Church, 44 Union Ave., Manasquan. All are welcome to share with the family. A repast will follow the celebration.
