Anthony Campo
Belmar resident and long time resident of New Monmouth, Middletown, Anthony Campo died Wednesday, July 28 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 87 years old.
He was a self employed contractor, A. Campo General Contractor, Farmingdale, all of his working life.
Born in Newark, he had lived in Belford before living in New Monmouth for 52 years prior to moving to Belmar five years ago.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, and then attended Church of St. Rose, Belmar, since moving to this area.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Battle of Bulge Veterans Organization, the VFW Post, the American Legion Post, and the Disabled Americans Veterans all in Port Monmouth. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
He was a long time member of the Elks Lodge in Red Bank and then transferred to the Manasquan Elks since moving to this area.
He was a member of the Beacon Hill Country Club and a former member of the Belmar Fishing Club.
He was an avid ballroom dancer along with his wife, Maria.
He was predeceased by his dearly missed son, Philip A., in 1999; his brother, Philip Jr. and two sisters, Carmela Rapolla and Katherine Maletto.
Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Maria Salvo Campo; his son, Anthony Jr. M.D., Jersey City and South Hampton, N.Y.; four daughters, Concetta Nolan, St. Charles, Ill., Lucia Campo, Spring Lake, Maria and her husband, Paul Kolarsick, Fair Haven, and Carolyn Campo Marcolus and her husband, Richard Marcolus, Atlantic Highlands; his sister, Rose DeChicchio, River Plaza; 11 grandchildren, Maria, Gina, Ursula, Allessandra, Victoria, Noah, Lauren, Paul, Lisa, Daniel, and Lauren Mattea, and three great-grandchildren, Ferris, Philip J. and Willa.

Consuela “Connie” L. Mancini
Spring Lake resident Consuela “Connie” L. Mancini died on Thursday, July 29 in her home.
She was 56 years old.
Born in Newark, she lived in Verona and West Orange before coming to Spring Lake ten years ago.
Ms. Mancini was the owner and the director of the Spring Lake Art Gallery for ten years and was the former owner of the Spring Lake Gourmet Pizza and Restaurant. Prior to this, she was employed as a receptionist at Salon 25 in Spring- field.
She was predeceased by he father, Nicholas Mancini.
Surviving are her mother, Jean Altamura Mancini, Spring Lake; her companion, Joseph Alu, Spring Lake and her brothers, Alex Mancini, Bayville, and Nicholas Mancini, West Orange. She also leaves her nieces, Connie, Jayme Ann; her nephew, Alex Jr. and her sister-in-law, Maria.

Neil Monello
San Francisco resident Neil Monello died Saturday, July 31.
He was born in Paterson. He moved to San Francisco 25 years ago, where he was the principal in the Cupertino, Calif. school district. He was also an assistant professor at San Francisco State University.
Mr. Monello earned a bachelor of arts degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison and his masters in education from Rutgers University, New Brunswick.
Mr. Monello began his career in education as a primary grade teacher in the East Windsor school district.
Surviving are his parents, Benjamin and Josephine Monello, Spring Lake; sisters, Maria D’Errico and her husband, James, Wayne, Joy Kay and her husband, Richard, Wall Township; nieces and nephews, Amy and Louis Pellegrini, Julie and Adam Palazzolo, Erica, Jacqueline, and Benjamin Kane, and Zachary Pellegrini. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Michael Friedman of Englewood, Fla.

Thomas Kerwin
Point Pleasant Beach resident Thomas Kerwin died Friday, July 30 in the Burnt Tavern Rehabilitation Center, Brick Township.
He was 92 years old.
He was a communicant of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant Beach. He was active in the parish Holy Name Society and the Glorious Years Group. He also served as an usher.
Mr. Kerwin was a graduate of St. Benedict High School, Newark and went on to Newark College of Engineering, currently known as the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Mr. Kerwin was a civil engineer for the state Department of Transportation. He retired in 1977 after thirty years of employment.
Born in Newark, Mr. Kerwin remained there until moving to Point Pleasant Beach in 1950.
He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Dorothy Clark Kerwin, in 1984; two brothers, William and James Kerwin; three sisters, Margaret Feder, Ann Kerwin, and Catherine Kerwin and a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Kerwin.
Surviving are his children and their spouses, Thomas and Ann Kerwin, Toms River, Robert and Jeanne Kerwin, Point Pleasant, Kenneth and Mary Ann Kerwin, also of Point Pleasant, and Dorothy and Thomas Dorney, Spring Lake Heights; three sisters, Agnus McManus, Haddonfield, Marian Koegel, Livingston, and Mary Knochel, Union; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

James G. Rogers
Neptune resident James G. Rogers died Saturday, July 31 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 73 years old.
Born in the Bronx, Mr. Rogers lived in Belmar for 25 years, before moving to Neptune four years ago.
He worked for 10 years as a self-employed real estate appraiser for J.G. Rogers Appraisal, Inc., Sea Girt. Prior to that he worked for 25 years as a real estate broker for Oliver Brothers Realty, Neptune.
He was a Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he served at the rank of first lieutenant.
Mr. Rogers received a bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University.
He was a member of Past Financial Secretary of Ancient Order of Hibernians, American Legion, Asbury Park, Secretary of the Board of Health, Neptune, Vice President Neptune Republican Club, adjunct teacher of real estate for Ocean County College, Monmouth County Board of Realtors, Planning Board of Belmar.
He was also an avid fisherman.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 50 years, Patricia Rogers; six loving children and their spouses, Kenneth and Gail Rogers, Deirdre and William Lundin, William Rogers, Christopher and Anne Marie Rogers, John and Patricia Rogers, and Elizabeth and Craig Montanaro; one beloved brother and his wife, Bernard and June Rogers; eight adored grandchildren, Caitlin, Brendan, Kevin, Sarah, Liam, and Catherine Rogers, Hailey Montanaro, and Justin Rogers-Williams.

Dorothy Elder
Wall Township resident Dorothy Elder Johnson died Tuesday, August 3 in Allaire Crossings Home, Wall.
She was 87 years old.
Ms. Johnson was a retired certified medical office assistant who had been employed by physicians in Asbury Park and Neptune.
She was born in the Bronx and moved to West Belmar in 1938. She also resided in Sea Girt for some years.
She was a communicant of St. Rose Church, Belmar, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and later joined St. Mark’s Parish, Sea Girt.
She was a member of the AARP, the Belmar Women’s Club, Pride of Wall Seniors Club, and Brookdale Community College Alumni Club.
She had been active in youth organizations such as, the Belmar-Wall Little League Auxiliary, St. Catherine’s, Spring Lake Girl Scouts, Leader, and the St. Mark’s Youth Committee.
She was predeceased by her husband, Victor L. Johnson in 1972.
Surviving are one daughter, Jo Ann V. Stakem, Millersville, Md.; three sons, Lawrence P. Johnson, Esq., Huron, Ohio, Dr. Lee R. Johnson, Cape Cod, Mass., and Bruce P. Johnson, Sea Girt; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Evelyn M. Zeimetz
Naples, Fla., resident Evelyn M. Zeimetz, formerly of Manasquan, died suddenly on Wednesday, July 21 of heart complications.
She was 60 years old.
She is survived by her children, Dawn Volpe, Shawn Zeimetz and Lisa Thibault and their families; a brother, Philip Majorek; grandchildren, Tyler and Michael Volpe, Annaleis and Jo-Jo Thibault. Shawn and his wife are expecting Evelyn’s fifth grandchild in October. Also surviving is her nephew, Rick Houston and niece, Deputy Chief Leslie Houston of the Long Beach Township Police Department.
Nancy Grace Ford
Brick Township resident Nancy Grace Ford died Friday, July 23 at the Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
She was 86 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. ford lived in Manasquan for many years before moving to Brick in 1983.
She had worked as a teacher’s aide at Manasquan Elementary School.
Mrs. Ford was predeceased by her husband, Milton W. Ford, Jr., who died in 1983 and her son, Roy Ford, in 1973.
Surviving are her two sons, Roger E. Ford, New Vernon, and Randy Ford, Brick; two daughters, Diana Sullivan of Potomac, Md. and Dorothea Ford of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one sister, Rose Sclafoni of Ozone Park; grandchildren, Karen, Jill, and Matthew Ford, and Brett, Devin, and Amanda Sullivan, and one great-grandson, Maxwell Davidoff.

Laurence “Larry” R. Lane
Wall Township resident Laurence “Larry” R. Lane died Sunday, July 25 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 61 years old.
He was born in Neptune Township on June 19, 1943 and lived all of his life in the area.
He was a rail road engineer at Earl Naval Weapons Station for 25 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., and a member of American Legion Post 1838 Point Pleasant.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth “Libby” L. Lane; a son, Scott of Hillsboro; a daughter, Susan C. Lowell of Elizabethtown, Pa.; a sister, Barbara J. Lane of Wall and a granddaughter, Allison Lowell of Elizabethtown.
Funeral arrangements were from the Ely Funeral Home, Neptune.

Christopher T. Ludwick
Belmar resident Christopher T. Ludwick died on Saturday, July 24.
He was 37 years old.
He was born in Neptune and resided in Belmar.
Mr. Ludwick was a graduate of Belmar Elementary School and Asbury Park High School.
He loved surfing and sports and was a great fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
He was a self-employed house painter.
He was a devoted care giver to his mother, Marie.
He was predeceased by his father, Clarence A. Ludwick, in March of 1993, and brother, Edward, in February of 2004.
He is survived by his mother, Marie C. McLone Ludwick; a son, Stephen, of Tennessee; brothers, Robert of Hawaii, Carl of West Virginia, Michael of Belmar, and James and his wife, Delia of Lakewood; sisters, Karen Cron of Bradley Beach, Dorothy Macaluso and her husband, Ralph, of Whiting, and Jeanette Ludwick of Washington; several nephews and nieces and grand nephews and nieces. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
