Kevin Gregus
Belmar resident Kevin Wayne Gregus died Sunday, Aug. 29 in Beach Haven.
He was 18 years old.
Born in Red Bank, Mr. Gregus lived in Freehold Township before moving to Belmar last year.
He was a graduate of St. Rose of Lima School, Freehold, and Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft. He was to attend Providence College in September.
Mr. Gregus was a member of the lacrosse team during his junior year and a member of the school ski club. He was a lifeguard at Long Beach Island for three years and enjoyed the guitar, skiing, surfing, and swimming.
He was predeceased by his sister Tracey Anne Gregus.
Surviving are his parents Wayne William and Antoinette Feiss Gregus and a sister Christina Gregus, all at home; his paternal grandmother Mildred Gregus; his maternal grandmother Ida Feiss; his aunts and uncles Arlene and Tom Schleck, Joan and Ray Schaffer, Barbara and Billy Feiss and Danny and Carol Feiss; eleven cousins and his beloved dog, Kacey.

Madelyn Wilson
Sea Girt resident Madelyn Anne Rauso Wilson died Saturday, Sept. 4 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 51 years old.
Born in Pompano Beach, Fla., she had lived in Sea Girt for the past 35 years.
Mrs. Wilson graduated with high honors from Douglas College at Rutgers University.
She was a communicant of St. Mark’s Church, Sea Girt.
Her family, the Stecks and the Rausos, were the original owners of the former Yankee Clipper Restaurant, Sea Girt.
She was also the niece of the late Stan Truax of Spring Lake who passed away on Aug. 26.
She was a loving and kind wife to her husband Rand and a devoted sister and aunt. She will be deeply missed by all.
She was predeceased by her parents Patrick and Nancy Rauso.
Surviving are her husband Rand Egan Wilson and four sisters Cathi Bannigan, Margate, Donna Wilson, Rumson, Patti Wallis, Spring Lake Heights and Christine Marsella, Brielle. She was also the loving aunt to five nieces and two nephews.

Margaret Stethers
Colts Neck resident Margaret “Peggy” Stethers died Thursday, Sept. 2 in Harrogate Health Center, Lakewood.
She was 92 years old.
Born in Mount Carmel, Pa., she lived in Ocean City and Naples, Fla. before moving to Little Silver in the 1980’s.
She graduated from Robert Packard Hospital Nursing School, Sayre, Pa. and was a Registered Nurse.
She was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Colony Club and the Riverboat Club, all in Ocean City.
Mrs. Stethers was predeceased by her husband John T. Stethers, former publisher of the Ocean City Sentinel Ledger newspaper, who died in 1983.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Nancy Jane and Richard Hubbard, Lincolnton, N.C. and Sue and Patrick White, Colts Neck and two grandchildren Jonathan and Kelly White, Colts Neck.

Mary Suplee
Spring Lake and Elizabeth resident Mary T. Green Suplee died Monday, Sept. 6 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 89 years old.
She was a life long resident of Elizabeth.
Mrs. Suplee co-founded the Katherine Green Employment Agency, Elizabeth, with her mother, Katherine Green.
She was a member of the Polish University Club; American Legion Argonne Post 6 and Ladies Auxiliary, Elizabeth; a charter member of the American Veterans of World War II Post 25; the Polish National Alliance Helen Modpzejewski Group 2769, Elizabeth; the St. Theresa Club of St. Adalbert’s Church, Elizabeth; Suburban Gold Club, Union; Spring Lake Bath and Tennis Club; N.J. Realtors’ Association and the Catholic Women’s Club, Elizabeth.
She was also very active with the U.S.O. during the war and is still supporting their efforts.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank E. Suplee and her parents John and Katherine Green.
Surviving are her daughter Katherine Suplee, Springfield, and her brother Michael Green and his wife Stephanie, Elizabeth.

Jeremy Doctor
Brick Township resident Jeremy Keith Doctor, whose mother Monica Lee McGreevy is from Wall Township, died Saturday, Sept. 4 in Farmingdale.
He was 32 years old.
Mr. Doctor was formerly employed by Styles Manufacturing in Point Pleasant.
Born at Tachikawa Air Force Base in Japan, he lived in Park Ridge and Waldwick before moving to Brick six years ago.
He was a 1989 graduate of Waldwick High School and attended Dominican College in Sparkhill, N.Y. and then Brookdale Community College, Lincroft.
He was a former member of St. Luke’s Church in Ho-Ho-Kus and was a member of the N.J. Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
He also enjoyed playing volleyball with his league at Leggett’s Sandbar in Manasquan.
Mr. Doctor is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Cornelius and Harriet McGreevy and by his paternal grandparents Lynn and Dorothea Doctor.
He is survived by his mother Monica Lee McGreevy, Wall Township; father Gregory Doctor, Waldwick; brother and sister-in-law Jonathan and Dana Doctor, San Antonio, Texas; sisters Melissa and Deanna Doctor, both of Waldwick; aunts Mary Ann Sims, Keansburg, Lizzie Bodie, Wall, and Mary Doctor, Warwick, N.Y.; uncle Michael Doctor, Montvale; cousin J.Earl Sims, Brick and niece Grace Doctor, San Antonio, along with many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Joanne Juhasz
Sinking Spring, Pa. resident Joanne Decker Juhasz, whose daughter Paula James lives in Manasquan, died Sunday, Sept. 5 in Burnt Tavern Nursing and Rehab Center, Brick Township.
She was 74 years old.
Born in New Brunswick, Mrs. Juhasz lived in Jamesburg for over 20 years before moving to Sinking Spring one year ago.
She had been employed as a mortgage processor at the New Brunswick Savings Bank for 26 years before retiring in 1995.
Mrs. Juhasz was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Amelia Decker and her brother John Decker.
She is survived by her two daughters Paula and her husband Christopher James, Manasquan, and Patricia Theriault, Chesapeake, Va.; two sons James and his wife Jamie Juhasz, Monmouth Junction, and Thomas Juhasz, Highland Park; three brothers William Decker, Upper Saddle River, James Decker, Cookville, Tenn., and Norman Decker, South Brunswick; four grandchildren Kristopher, Kelly, Craig, and Jillian and a great-grandson Avery.

Jo Anne Hurley
Spring Lake Heights resident Jo Anne C. Hurley died Friday, Sept. 3 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 43 years old.
She lived her entire life in the home she was born in.
For the past 24 years she was employed by H.M.S. HOST at the Monmouth Service Area on the Garden State Parkway, most recently as the cash room clerk.
She was an attendee of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Spring Lake.
She is predeceased by her mother Alva Woolley Hurley.
Miss Hurley is survived by her father Charles E. Hurley and her brother Richard Hurley, both of Spring Lake Heights, and her dear friend William Hill, Manasquan.

Stanley Truax
Spring Lake Heights resident Stanley J. Truax died Thursday, Aug. 26 in his home.
He was 87 years old.
Mr. Truax served on the Spring Lake First Aid Squad for 70 years. He became interested in first aid in elementary school, and joined the squad as an associate member at the age of 16. He was 14 when he assisted in the rescue of survivors of the Morro Castle, a passenger ship that caught fire one and a half miles off the coast of Union Avenue in Spring Lake. He was also one of the first rescue squad members to arrive at the site of the Hindenburg explosion. At age 86, he continued to respond to about 700 of approximately 920 calls per year.
He was a member of the New Jersey State First Aid Council, Monmouth County Organization of First Aid Squads, and American Legion Post 432 Spring Lake.
Mr. Truax was a Red Cross First Aid Instructor in Monmouth County, and was an usher and communicant of St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake. He was employed as a mechanic at the Bendix Aviation Corporation. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II serving as an aircraft mechanic aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Block Island. He served in Guadalcanal, Bougainville and New Caledonia, earning the Presidential Unit Citation and attaining the rank of staff sergeant.
He was a graduate of Manasquan High School and Massanutten Military Academy in Virginia.
After the service he worked for many years as aircraft engine mechanic at the Naval Testing Center in Trenton where he was a member of a team developing parts for afterburner jet engines, and U.S. Army Support in Lakehurst where he received a Department of the Army Certificate of Appreciation for 35 years of government service and outstanding performance.
Born in Villa Park, now called Spring Lake Heights, he was a life long resident of Spring Lake and Spring Lake Heights.
He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, his sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Francis Emmons, and his brothers Joseph Truax and James Truax, who was killed during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Franklin.
Mr. Truax is survived by his son and daughter-in-law James and Gail Truax, his granddaughter Jamie, his brother and sister-in-law Charles and Rae Truax, several nieces and nephews, and many devoted friends.

Louise Schwier
Sea Girt resident Louise Mueller Schwier died Sunday, Aug. 29 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, after a brief illness.
She was 86 years old.
Born in Manasquan, she lived most of her life in Spring Lake before moving to Sea Girt in 1983.
Mrs. Schwier was devoted to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Manasquan and served on the music and worship committees. For many years she served with great joy as the prelude organist.
She was predeceased by her husband Henry Sterling Schwier Sr.; her parents George and Caroline Mueller; her sisters Caroline Willenger and Elizabeth Mueller and her brothers George, Albert, Henry and Charles Mueller.
She was a devoted and loving mother of three sons Henry Sterling and his wife Edwina, Thomas Richard and his wife Shirley, and Philip Charles Mueller Schwier and his wife Karen.
She was the adoring grandmother of seven and the great-grandmother of twelve.
Mrs. Schwier was a child of seventeen. Surviving are Magdaline and her husband Robert Runyon; Frederick and his wife Betty; Bertha Moore; Anna Wood; Clara and her husband Robert Queen; Martha Dropchinski; Gretchen and her husband Walter Andersen; Robert and his wife Irene; Richard and his wife Mary and Freida Davis.
