Glenn C. Kritch Jr.
Wall Township resident Glenn C. Kritch Jr., who also resided in Jupiter, Fla., died Monday, Oct. 25 in Sunnyside Manor, Wall Township, surrounded by his loving family.
He was 78 years old.
Born in Detroit, he wa raised in Engelwood and lived in Wall since 1971, since the 1980s he has also maintained a summer residence in Jupiter, Fla.
Mr. Kritch was the owner of the Kritch Sign Company, of Engelwood and Bradley Beach, and also the Atlantic Crane Company, of Wall, for many years.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II serving as a gunner on a B-29 airplane.
He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Kritch is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Kritch; his children and their spouses, Glenn C. III and Gail Kritch, Chuck and Nancy Kritch, both of Wall, Carole and Jeff Sussman and Kathryn Cunningham, both of Boca Raton, Fla., Nancy Levin-Dixon, Point Pleasant Beach, Mary and Doug Wolfe, Brick Township, and Amy Mathews, Spring Lake; grandchildren, Glenn IV, Heather and Courtney Kritch, Holly St. Clair, Darren and Bryan Sussman, Chuck Jr., Michael, Danny, and Carlee Kritch, Christopher and Kimberly Cunningham, Joshua Levin, B.J. and Alexis Dixon, Kelly Baxter, Lauren Lovett, Kristina and Eugene Mathews III; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan, M. Casey Sussman, Bryan and Noah Baxter, and Charles Indiana Kritch, and two sisters, Rita Vickerman, Seminole, Fla., and Jane Quilici, Demarest.
Funeral services are today at 9 a.m. at the O’ Brien Funeral Home, Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Denis Church, Manasquan. Committal will be private at the convenience of the family.

Salvatore Zocchi Jr.
Manasquan resident Salvatore Zocchi Jr. died Friday, Oct. 22 after a courageous battle with Lyme’s Disease.
He was 45 years old.
Born in Rahway, Mr. Zocchi, known as Skip, resided in Colts Neck before moving to Manasquan 31 years ago.
He attended Rahway Elementary School and graduated from Manasquan High School in 1977. He attended the University of South Carolina, where he was chosen to be a drummer in their renowned marching band. He then attended the American Academy of the Dramatic Arts, New York City, and the Long Island School of Finishing Arts. He was a talented artist and musician and loved animals. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten as a gentle person by his family and friends.
Mr. Zocchi was predeceased by his brother, Peter, in 1969.
He is survived by his father and mother, Salvatore Zocchi Sr. and Maureen McCann Zocchi; brother and sister-in-law, David and Judy Zocchi, Manasquan; sister, Janine Zocchi, Spring Lake; sister and brother-in-law, Tricia and Michael White, Avon, and several aunts and uncles.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday at St. Denis Church, Manasquan.

Alfred DelGuidice
Spring Lake Heights resident Alfred DelGuidice died Wednesday, Oct. 27 in his home.
He was 94 years old.
Born in Orange, Mr. DelGuidice lived in West Orange before coming to Spring Lake Heights 20 years ago.
He was a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in West Orange, before retiring. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II and was an avid golfer.
Mr. DelGuidice was predeceased by his wife, Gladys Rustin DelGuidice in 2003.
He is survived by his sister, Ester DelGuidice.

Andrew Schmidhausler
South Belmar resident Andrew Schmidhausler died Sunday, Oct. 24 in his home.
He was 81 years old.
Born in Paterson, Mr. Schmidhausler lived in East Orange before moving to South Belmar 47 years ago.
He was a graduate of St. Benedict’s Preparatory School, Newark, and a 1944 graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, N.Y.
Mr. Schmidhausler was a stationary engineer, working for U.S. Shipping lines from 1945 to 1968 as a second mate on various ships. He also worked as a boiler inspector for Royal Globe Insurance Co. He recently retired after 35 years as a part-time instructor of stationary engineering at Middlesex Vocational Technical School, New Brunswick. At the time of his death, he was president and owner of Power Plant Associates, South Plainfield.
Mr. Schmidhausler was predeceased by his brother, Richard.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth [Betsy], son, Kurt and daughter, Gretchen, all of South Belmar; sister-in-law, Carol Schmidhausler, Rochelle Park; nephew, Eric Schmidhausler, North Carolina, and a niece, Trudi Swift, Pennsylvania. He also leaves his beloved dog, Suzy.
Funeral arrangements were from the Reilly Funeral Home, Belmar.
A memorial service and reception will be held in mid-November, date to be announced.

Mary Elizabeth O’Connor
Avon-by-the-Sea resident Mary Elizabeth O’Connor died Thursday, Oct. 21 in Lansing, Mich. after a long battle with cancer.
She was 82 years old.
Ms. O’Connor was born on April, 22, 1922 in Bayonne to Peter and Agnes O’Connor.
She grew up in Belmar and graduated from Asbury Park High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics from Marywood University and earned a master’s degree from Columbia University. She retired to her home in Avon after 38 years of teaching home economics at Wood-Ridge High School.
She treasured everyday at the Jersey shore and enjoyed family and traveling. An ardent supporter of the AIDS Project of Asbury Park, she touched many lives and was cherished by her beloved family, friends and students. Ms. O’Connor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ms. O’Connor was predeceased by her twin brother, Peter J. O’Connor and sisters, Beatrice Kelleher and Janet Mitchell.
She is survived by her nieces and their spouses, Agnes Mitchell and Lawrence Drzal, Okemos, Mich., and Mary Ellen Kelleher-Hanriat and Dominique Hanriat, Loueve, France; nephews and their spouses, John and Kathy Kelleher, of Henderson, Nevada, Peter and Michelle Kelleher, of West Townshend, Vermont, Richard and Lori Kelleher, of Gloucester, Mass., and Edward and Doreen Kelleher, of Newton, Conn., and fifteen loving grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Harold J. Osborne
Spring Lake resident Harold J. Osborne died Saturday, Oct. 30 in his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was 79 years old.
Born in Newark, he had lived in Kearny and then in Berkley Heights for ten years before moving to Spring Lake in 1972.
Mr. Osborne was employed as a tool and die maker with General Motors, of Harrison-Clark, for 43 years before retiring in 1977.
He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the 393rd Infantry regiment. He was also a communicant of the St. Catharine’s and St. Margaret’s Church and a member of the Holy Name Society of the church.
Mr. Osborne is survived by his wife, Florence Osborne; son, Harold, of Bushnell, Fla.; two daughters, Mary Baker, of King, N.C., and Anne Stanford, Howell; brother, Archibald Osborne, Florida, and ten grandchildren.

Michael J. Trapani
Lakewood resident Michael J. Trapani, formerly of Wall Township, died Saturday, Oct. 30 at Harrogate, Lakewood.
He was 95 years old.
Born in Palermo, Italy, Mr. Trapani had lived in Short Hills until 1968 when he moved to Wall, where he lived until moving into Harrogate, Lakewood in 1992.
Mr. Trapani had retired as the district sales manager with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, Linden in August in 1970 after 40 years of distinguished service. During his illustrious career had been a member of the Northern New Jersey Life Underwriters, L.U.T.C. and G.A.M.A. He was also a member and chairman of the Sales Executive Club of Newark and the council director of the Navy League of the United States. After his career with Metropolitan Life, he went on to serve as the senior consultant for Keystone Associates, Ocean Township. He was also instrumental in the development of the Wall Chamber of Commerce where he served as the executive director.
Mr. Trapani was a third degree member of the Monsignor Thomas U. Reilly Knights of Columbus Council, Spring Lake, a communicant of St. Catharine’s and St. Margaret’s Parish, Spring Lake, the Manasquan Elks Lodge, AARP, and a lifelong supporter of the Republican National Congressional Committee where he was honored by both Presidents Reagan and Bush for his efforts.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sadie F. Trapani in 1994 and his son, Peter, formerly of Montclair, in 1999.
Surviving are his daughter, Pauline Urban, of Whiting, and four brothers, John, of Toms River, Anthony, of Union, Leo and Albert, both of North Carolina; a sister, Frances Crisafulli, of Piscataway, and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

John C. Sturtevant
Manasquan resident John C. Sturtevant died Friday, Oct. 29.
He was 77 years old.
Born in Kearny, he lived in Bloomfield before moving to Manasquan. He resided in Sunrise Assisted Living, Wall Township, for the past four years.
Mr. Sturtevant was the owner and operator of Auto Glo Service Garage, Newark for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Samson Veterans of New Jersey and a communicant of St. Michael’s Church, Wall.
He was predeceased by is wife, Mary P. Sturtevant in 2000.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Shumas, Fort Wayne, Ind.; two sons and daughter-in-laws, John Jr. and Lucia Sturtevant, Marlboro, and Peter and Carolyn Sturtevant, Brick Township, and his grandchildren, Matthew, Stephen, Suzanne, Lisa, Christine, Sarah, Shane and Logan.

Joseph K. Kusy
West Hartford resident Joseph Kasimierz Kusy, whose sons live in Wall Township, died Thursday, Oct. 28 in Hartford.
He was 81 years old.
Mr. Kusy was born in Sarzyna, Poland, the son of Peter and Julia Kusy. He served as a member of the Polish Free Forces from 1943 to 1948. He lived and worked in the greater Hartford area, retiring from the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company in 1987 after 32 years of service.
He was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and a member of the Teamsters Retiree Chapter. His interest were varied including antique auctions, outdoor gardening and collectibles,
Mr. Kusy leaves two sons, Christopher Kusy and his wife, Lorraine and Jeffrey Kusy and Linda Krebs; five grandchildren, David, Justin, Michael Joseph and Steven and five sisters, Janina Dubiel, of Hartford, Maria Ludzinski Amelia Paszek, Katharine Siedlecki and Cecilia Lewandowski, all in Poland.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Sebastian and Frank.
Linda Beth Day
Wall Township resident Linda Beth Day died Monday, Nov. 1 in her home.
She was 52 years old.
Ms. Day grew up in Penns Grove and moved to Wall 24 years ago.
Ms. Day was the owner and operator with her husband, Frank, of Pet Days, Pet Sitting Service, of Wall, for three and one-half years. She previously worked for Home But Not Alone Pet Sitting for seven years and the Allenwood Animal Hospital for 12 years. From 1973 to 1980 she was a civilian employee for the U.S. Army as a secretary working in Germany for three years and Fort Monmouth.
She was predeceased by her mother, Barbara Gowdy; brother, James Gowdy; niece, Alyson Gowdy, and father-in-law, Richard G. Day.
Ms. Day is survived by her father, James Gowdy, of Pennsville; her husband, Frank J. Day; two sons, Thomas and Brian, both of Wall; three nieces and nephews, Stina Gowdy, Mary Jo Day and Robert Day, and her mother-in-law, Josephine Day, of Parlin.
