Paul O’Keeffe
Sea Girt resident Paul J. O’Keeffe died Monday, March 15 after a long illness with his family by his side.
He was 70 years old.
Born and raised in Plainfield, he lived in Sea Girt only recently.
His political accomplishments are well known throughout New Jersey.
He served eight years (1965 - 1973) as a Plainfield councilman acting as President four of those years. He was elected Mayor and held that office from 1973 through 1981. Later, he was elected to the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders where he served from 1984 to 1989. He was Board Chairman in 1986.
Mr. O’Keeffe graduated from Plainfield High School as class president in 1951 and Holy Cross College, Worcester, Mass., in 1955.
He was a Navy veteran.
He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Plainfield and a member of the church choir.
He worked with Mortgage Guarantee Insurance Corporation serving as regional vice-president and finished his business career with the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Agency.
Throughout his career and into retirement he received numerous awards for his civic activities including the 1982 Jaycees Award for Distinguished Service, the NAACP Award for Outstanding Leadership/Community and Civic Affairs, the Founders Award from the Plainfield Health Center, the Plainfield High School Alumni Association inducted him into its Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Distinguished Service Award from the Plainfield City Council in January, 2004.
From 1993 to 1996 he was a member of the Union County Board of Governors. More recently, he worked with the Sea Girt Fire and Police Squads and held membership in the Belmar Fishing Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 552 in Plainfield and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
He is predeceased by his father John P. O’Keeffe and mother Frances Regan O’Keeffe.
Mr. O’Keeffe is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lori Peterson O’Keeffe, Sea Girt, two sons, John Kevin, Plainfield, Patrick and his wife Linda, Castleton-on-Hudson, NY, one grandson, Christopher Patrick, two brothers John O’Keeffe, Tequesta, Fla, Gerald O’Keeffe, Spring Lake Heights.
Funeral arrangements are through Higgins Home for Funerals.
Services will be held by St. Mary’s Church, 516 W. Sixth Street, Plainfield at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 21.

Jeanette Lorimer
Wall resident Jeanette Y. Ciccone Lorimer died Wednesday, March 10 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 62 years old.
Born in Newark, she lived in West Orange before coming to Wall 10 years ago.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed decorating, gardening, cooking and most of all she loved spending time with her family and beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years Patrick Lorimer, her son Patrick Lorimer III, her daughters Janine Roth, Tricia Talyor, her grandchildren, Alex, Gabrielle, and Samantha Roth, Paige and Sophia Lorimer, and Tommy and Patrick Taylor, her sister Yvonne Pannucci and her brother Fred Ciccone.

Emma M. Cavaleri
Brielle resident Emma M. Cavaleri died Wednesday, March 10 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 87 years old.
Born and raised in Newark, she lived in Point Pleasant and Boynton Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Cavaleri was a homemaker. She was previously employed in retail with the Abromowitz Department Store in Point Pleasant.
She was a communicant of St. Denis Church in Manasquan.
Predeceased by her loving husband Ray in 1995; and by two brothers Gene and Joseph Matullo, four sisters May Silla, Mildred Giannetti, Edith La Capra and Flora La Capra.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Agatha and John Grady, Brielle; her grandchildren John Grady, Manasquan, and Kelly and her husband Kenneth Boden, Brielle; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Agatha and Michelangelo Bonanno, Neptune, Rose and Anthony Cavaleri, Brick Township, and Esther and Charles Cavaleri, Houston.

Barry Mac Phee
South Belmar resident Barry A. Mac Phee died Sunday, March 14 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 58 years old.
Born in Newark, he lived in South Belmar for the last six years and was a life long resident of the shore area.
He was a veteran of the U.S Navy and a former ROTC member during the Vietnam War.
He was the owner/operator of C.N.J Services, Brielle serving the restaurant industry for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife Betsy [nee:Cornelius] Mac Phee, his two brothers Dick Williams, Toms River, Donald Williams, Brick, his three daughters and son-in-laws Breen Meyerle and John Meyerle, Brick, Lauren Ludovico and Len Ludovico, Jackson, Lynda Murphy and Tim Murphy, Brick, his two sons and daughter-in-laws Brian MacPhee and Kristin MacPhee, Sebastian, Fla, Christopher Macphee, Belmar, his two step-sons Joe and wife Julie McLaughlin, Belmar, Christopher McLaughlin, Belmar, and eight grandchildren Morgan, Andrew, Kayla, Justine, Caitlan, Jillian, Casey, and Elsia.
A blessing will be held at Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan tomorrow, Friday, March 19 at 11:30 A.M. followed by entombment at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veteran’s cemetery, Arneytown.
Palma Fratantonio
Spring Lake resident Palma “Pam” T. Fratantonio died peacefully Tuesday, March 16 in her home.
He was 91 years old.
Born in Newark, she has lived in Spring Lake for the last 51 years.
She was the former owner of the Beachcomber Guest House Spring Lake, on first Avenue for 10 years.
She was a Communicant of St. Catharine and St. Margaret’s Parish, Spring Lake.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph J. in April of 1967.
She is survived by her son Chester “Chet”, Spring Lake whom she lived with, her daughter and son-in-law Rosemary and David Ansell, West End.
Services will be held by the O’Brien Funeral Home, Highway 35, New Bedford Rd., Wall at 10:30 A.M. tomorrow, Friday, March 19. This will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake.

Richard Hitchcock
Tinton Falls resident Richard Bourne Hitchcock died Tuesday, March 16 in his home.
He was 88 years old.
Born in Fitchburg, Mass he lived in Atlanta, Ga., Wilmington, Del., and Las Vegas, Nev. before moving to Tinton Falls five years ago.
He graduated from M.I.T., class of 1935.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was a research welding engineer for E.I. DuPont Company, Wilmington, Del., retiring after 30 years in 1977.
He was a lifetime member of the American Welding Society and was a senior volunteer at Mahala F. Atchison Elementary School, Tinton Falls.
Mr. Hitchcock was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Robertson Hitchcock, who died in 2002.
He is survived by his three daughters Barbara Zarynoff, Minnetonka, Minn., Nancy Gass, Las Vegas, Nev., and Elizabeth Oswald, Concord, Mechanicsburg, Penn.; his sister Ruth Grant, Concord, N.H.; his seven grandchildren George Zarynoff, Mark Zarynoff, Donya Manovill, Debra Martin, Joseph Oswald, Jennifer Oswald and Jeanette Oswald; and his four great-grandchildren Libby, Zachary, Abigail and Claire.
Services are private. The Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan is in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth Digiacomo
Manasquan resident Kenneth G. Digiacomo died Tuesday, March 16 in Presybertian Hospital, Philadelphia.
He was 57 years old.
Born in Neptune, he has lived in Manasquan for the last 29 years.
He graduated Manasquan High School Class of 1964.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was employed with A.T.&T. Bell Labs, Holmdel, for 30 years and most recently Lucent Technologies for two years before retiring four years ago.
He was a Past President of the Manasquan-Brielle Girls Softball League
Mr. Digiacomo is survived by his wife Carole McBride Digiacomo; his two daughters Kelli and Christina Digiacomo, Manasquan.

Dr. Edwin Warren
Manasquan resident Dr. Edwin M. “Doc” Warren died Monday, March 15 in his Florida home.
He was 95 years old.
He lived half the year in Manasquan and the other half in Plantation Key, Fla.
He graduated from Colgate University, Hamilton, N.Y. in 1931 and then from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School in 1935.
During World War II he was a Captain in the Army Dental Corp from 1942 - 1946.
He practiced dentistry in Chatham for 42 years from 1936 - 1978.
He served as Past President in the Tri County Dental Society. He was elected to life memberships in The New Jersey Dental School, American Dental Association and Tri County Dental Society. He was also a member of the Manasquan Elks Lodge #2534.
He was active in New Jersey bowling circles. An avid boater and fisherman. He had many good friends who enjoyed life’s pursuits with him and supported in later years.
Dr. Warren was predeceased by his wife Ruth M.
He is survived by his three nieces Mary Goodbread, Chatham, Katherine Schriever, Loveladies, and Barbara Smith, Wall; and his nephew Richard Warren, Rotterdam, N.Y.

Dennis Moynihan
Wall resident Dennis Michael Moynihan died Thursday, March 18 in his home.
He was 43 years old.
Born in Elizabeth, he was a lifelong resident of Wall.
He was a 1983 Graduate of Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, where he received a degree in accounting.
He was employed as a Grocery Clerk for 26 years at Foodtown, Sea Girt.
He was a parishioner of St. Denis Church, Manasquan.
He was a former officer of the Monmouth County Bowling Association.
He was an avid New York Mets fan who loved Bowling, Golf and trips to Atlantic City.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Mr. Moynihan is survived by his parents Raymond and Claire E. (Manhardt) Moynihan, Wall; his brother Timothy J. and his wife of Tinton Falls; his three sisters Diane M. Moynihan, Neptune, Carol E. Moynihan, Point Pleasant and Susan M. Cox, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; his maternal grandmother Catherine Skillman, Manasquan and his four nephews and three nieces.
