John T. Bohner

Brick Township resident Robert A. Bohner, whose son lives in Point Pleasant, died Sunday, Sept. 21, in Laurelton Village Nursing Home.

He was 98 years old.

Born in North Bergen, he lived there before moving to Brick 19 years ago.

He had been employed as a truck driver with Sears, Secaucus.

He was predeceased in 1992 by his wife, Edna.

Surviving are one son, John Bohner, Point Pleasant; one daughter, Elizabeth Zinno, Bayville, Berkeley; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were from the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant.

Marguerite M. Young

Brielle resident Marguerite M. Motzenbecker Young, whose son lives in Point Pleasant, died Monday, Sept. 22 in Ocean Medical Center ‹ Brick Hospital.

She wa 79 years old.

Born and raised in Livingston, Mrs. Young moved to Brielle 20 years ago.

She was a homemaker.

She was a communicant of St. Denis Church, Manasquan.

She enjoyed sailing with her late husband.

She was predeceased in 1993 by her husband, James 'Jim' Young.

Surviving are one son, Christopher Young, Point Pleasant; one daughter and son-in-law, Peg and Bob Wright, Whitehouse Station; one brother, Richard Motzenbecker, Asbury Park; one sister, Mary Long, Moorestown; seven grandchildren, James, Jonathan, and David Wright, and Christopher, Kyle, Jillian and Casey Young; and a niece and her husband, Kathleen and Bill McGraw.

Funeral arrangements are from the OıBrien Funeral Home, Wall Township. A funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. today in St. Denis Church, Manasquan.

Contributions in Mrs. Youngıs memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury, 07702.

Melinda M. Pornovetz

Point Pleasant resident Melinda M. Pornovetz died Monday, Sept. 22 in Haven Hospice in JFK Medical Center, Edison.

She was 40 years old.

Born in Plainfield, Ms. Pornovetz lived in South Plainfield before moving to Point Pleasant 10 years ago.

She was a 1981 graduate of Middlesex County Vo-Tech High School, Piscataway. She then attended the Vo-Tech nursing program and earned her LPN license.

She was employed for 20 years as a licensed practical nurse with JFK Medical Center, Edison, before retiring.

She was a beloved daughter, loving and dear sister and adored aunt.

Surviving are her parents, George and Georgia M. Pornovetz, South Plainfield; one brother and sister-in-law, George C. and Cristine Pornovetz, Daytona Beach, Fla.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra and Alfred Schroeder, South Plainfield, Diane C. Pornovetz and Eugene J. Cooper, and Donna J. and Bill Wilson, all of Point Pleasant; and Georgia G. and Christopher Fenimore, Hillsborough; eight nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Max.

Funeral arrangements are from the McCriskin Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield. Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 9:15 a.m. tomorrow in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, South Plainfield.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ms. Pornovetzıs memory may be made to the Haven Hospice c/o JFK Foundation, 65 James St. Edison, 08817, or to the American Cancer Society, 846 Main St., Fords, 08818.

Doris W. McMullen

Point Pleasant Beach resident Doris W. Pornovetz died Thursday, Sept. 18 in her home.

She was 81 years old.

Born and raised in the Weequahic section of Newark, Mrs. McMullen lived in East Brunswick for many years before moving to Point Pleasant Beach in 1989.

She was formerly employed for 18 years with Macyıs Department Stores, East Brunswick, and then with Mark, Fore and Strike, Bay Head, and Jenkinsonıs Aquarium, Point Pleasant Beach.

She was a member of the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church.

She was a member of the Point Pleasant Womanıs Club, and worked at the election polls in East Brunswick and Point Pleasant Beach.

Her positive attitude and dry sense of humor lifted the spirits of all who knew her.

She was predeceased in 1986 by her husband, Walton.

Surviving are her daughter, Robin McMullen, Point Pleasant Beach; a niece, Carol Miller; and her beloved 'puppies,' Buddy and Peanut.

Funeral arrangements are from the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant Beach. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Point Pleasant Beach.

Ralph W. Krone

Sarasota, Fla., resident Ralph W. Krone, formerly of Point Pleasant, died Tuesday, Sept. 23.

He was 61 years old.

Mr. Krone lived in Point Pleasant, Maine, and Key West, Fla., before moving to Sarasota, Fla.

He was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy and Taft College, California.

He was employed for five years in New York City before becoming partners with his father and brother as the owners/operators of Kroneıs Lavallette Inn, The Ark, Point Pleasant Beach, and Peteıs Bar, Point Pleasant. When he retired to Maine he managed Downeast Whitewater Rafting.

Known as 'Ralphie,' Mr. Krone had many friends and will be sorely missed. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was pre-deceased by his mother, Isabel, and his brother, Roger.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Pamela; his father, Rudy; two sons, Victor and Eric; and two grandsons, Forrest and Talon.

Funeral arrangements were from Toale Brothers, 40 Orange Ave., Sarasota, Fla. A local gathering of friends will be held at a later date.

Contributions in Mr. Kroneıs memory may be made to the Lavallette Volunteer Fire Company, or to the Lavallette First Aid Squad.

Stephen P. Nencheck

Point Pleasant resident Stephen P. Nencheck died Friday, Sept. 26 in Meridian Nursing and Rehab, Brick Township.

He was 84 years old.

Born in Far Hills, Mr. Nencheck lived in Bernardsville and Rahway before moving to Point Pleasant 40 years ago.

He was employed for 38 years as a roller operator with Engelhard Industries, Newark, before retiring 20 years ago.

He was a life member of the Point Pleasant Elks Lodge No. 1698.

He was predeceased by one brother and four sisters.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Betty; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven L. and Claire, Weston, Fla.; two daughters, Nancy A. Fritzel, Palm Springs, Calif., and Linda S. Roberts, Manchester; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were from the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant.

John Lewis

Point Pleasant resident John 'Jack' Lewis died Friday, Sept. 26 in Deborah Heart & Lung Center, Browns Mills.

He was 64 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Lewis moved to Point Pleasant in 1975.

He was the co-owner of Brite-N-Kleen Laundromat, Normandy Beach. He was a retired pipefitter foreman of Major Industrial, Long Island, N.Y., and was employed for 15 years as a HVAC installer/repairer with Aggressive Heating and Cooling, Wall Township, retiring in 1990.

He was a loving father and the best pop-pop.

He was predeceased in 1989 by the love of his life, his wife JoAnn.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, John M. and Victoria; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia A. and Ben Morris, Theresa and Patrick Pasqualetto, and Jennifer Dominick DeFillippes; four brothers, Bob, Bill, Tom and George; two sisters, Kay Cirrinone and Ann Marie Feitt; and seven grandchildren, John, Dominick, Amanda, Austin, Ben, Emily and Sarah.

Funeral arrangements were from Colonial Funeral Home, Brick Township.

Contributions in Mr. Lewisı memory may be made to the Deborah Heart & Lung Center, Browns Mills.

Georgiana L. Grable

Ocoee, Tenn., resident Georgiana L. Beggs Gable, formerly of Point Pleasant, died Saturday, Sept. 27 in the Medical Center of Ocean County - Brick Hospital.

She was 56 years old.

Born in Bound Brook, Ms. Grable lived in Point Pleasant and Windsor, Va., before moving to Ocoee, Tenn., three years ago.

She was a graduate of Point Pleasant Beach High School.

She was employed as a cafeteria worker with the Ocoee School Board of Education, Tennessee.

She was a member of St. Maryıs By the Sea Episcopal Church, Point Pleasant Beach.

She was predeceased by her parents Charles William Sr. and Selma E. Bushman Beggs, and her son, Michael Valerio.

Surviving are her husband, David Grable; one son, Marcus Valerio, San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Michele McMullen, Midlothian,Va., and Danielle Hope,Chesapeake, Va.; four brothers, Charles Beggs, Brick Township, Joseph Beggs and Robert Beggs, both of Charlotte Courthouse, Va., and Richard Beggs, Toms River; five grandchildren, Vinnie, Tristan, and Paxton Hope, and Mac and Elizabeth McMullen; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were from the Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, Point Pleasant Beach.

Elsie V. Polyniak

Point Pleasant Beach resident Elsie V. Polyniak died Saturday, Sept. 27 in Community Medical Center, Toms River.

She was 83 years old.

Born in Passaic, Mrs. Polyniak lived in Clifton before moving to Point Pleasant Beach 25 years ago.

She was a homemaker.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Polyniak; four brothers, Willis, Lester, Frank and Joseph Mayer; three sisters, Viola Lennox, Catherine Ryan and Gertrude Pezzoli; and her granddaughter, Jennifer Pammer.

Surviving are three daughters, Virginia Lepree, Point Pleasant, Diane Houthuysen, Clifton, and Lois Lamore, Bayville, Berkeley; one sister, Edith Mayoski, Clifton; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were from the Allwood Funeral Home, Clifton.
