Marjorie Franklin
Manasquan resident Marjorie P. Franklin died June 10 at MediCenter, Neptune.
She was 83 years old.
Born in Bayhead, she was a lifelong resident of Manasquan.
She was a member of the Manasquan United Methodist Church and the Audubon Society.
She was pre-deceased by her husband William Clifton and a sister Iris Celli.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Frye; her husband Tony; a sister Mildred Casey and several nieces.

William H. Reed
Former Manasquan resident William H. Reed died Monday, June 14 in Ocean County Medical Center, Brick Township.
He was 85 years old.
Born in Newark, Mr. Reed lived in Manasquan before retiring to New Bern, N.C. He moved to Point Pleasant Beach five years ago.
He was employed as a sheet metal worker with Capital Sheet Metal, Caldwell, before retiring.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Manasquan.
He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Veronica; one son, Richard A., Savannah, Ga.; three daughters, Barbara DiCorcia, Point Pleasant Beach, and Kimberly O’Hara, and Patti Reed, both of Point Pleasant; and five grandchildren, Desiree and Daniel DiCorcia, Brianna and Brendan O’Hara and Sarah Jane Reed.
Funeral arrangements are from the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant. Visiting hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Manasquan.
Sean R. Fleming
Point Pleasant resident Sean Richard Fleming, whose brother lives in Brielle, died Saturday, June 12 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was 50 years old.
A lifelong Point Pleasant resident, Mr. Fleming graduated from Point Pleasant Boro High School in 1972. He was a gifted athlete, competing on numerous championship track, cross country and wrestling teams, was the District 15 wrestling champion, the Region 7 champion in his weight class and awarded their Most Outstanding Wrestler, was a first team All-Shore Wrestler, and second team All-State Wrestler and took second place in the New Jersey State Championship in 1972.
He was employed by The Star Ledger in Newark as a machinist for 17 years and was a member and past shop steward in IA of M & AW for 24 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving at Atsugi Airbase, Japan. He was the assistant wrestling coach at Camp Zama High School and a member of the Noriaki Kiguchi Wrestling Club. He then served on the aircraft carrier USS Constellation during the North-South Yemen Conflict. He attained the rank of petty officer 2nd class and was awarded Good Conduct and Expeditionary Forces medals.
He was actively involved in the Boy Scouts in Point Pleasant and was a committee member of Troop 16, where he assisted in leading boys in numerous service and award projects over the years.
He was a recent inductee to the Point Pleasant High School Hall of Fame.
An avid waterman, he spent a lifetime fishing, surfing and boating. He recently passed the Coast Guard Captain’s course.
He touched countless people with his good humor and selfless acts.
He was predeceased by his parents Bert and Jeanettee [nee Hurley] Fleming.
Surviving are his wife Nancy Crane Fleming; son Sean; two brothers, Patrick and his companion Diane, and Michael and his wife Jeannie of Brielle; a sister Mary; mother-in-law Audrey; brother-in-law Ed Crane; and sister-in-law Susan, all of Point Pleasant. Also surviving are nieces and nephews Daniel, Megan, Brendan, Conor Katie, Ryan and Matthew; and aunts Betty Hurley, Brick, and Peg Sheran, South Weymouth, Mass.
Funeral arrangements were from the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant. Contributions in Mr. Fleming’s memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis or Deborah Heart and Lung Association.
Patricia Sepe
Spring Lake Heights resident Patricia Ann Bradley Sepe died Tuesday, June 29 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 60 years old.
Born in Union, she has resided in Spring Lake Heights since 1967.
She graduated from Manasquan High School and was a homemaker.
She belonged to St. Uriel the Archangel Episcopal Church, Sea Girt. She was a member of the BSF Bible Study and the Community Bible Study. She volunteered at Jersey Shore University Medical Center for many years. She also belonged to the Manasquan River Golf Club, Brielle.
Mrs. Sepe is survived by her husband of 41 years, William Sepe; a son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Kerry Sepe,Manasquan; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Vincent Rufa, Little Silver; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbera and Robert Winemiller, Spring Lake Heights; an uncle and his wife, Matthew and Doris Horneck, Mission Viejo, Calif.; six grandchildren, Garrison, Brennan, and Nolan Rufa, Noah, Luke, and Elias Sepe; and her beloved dog, Bear.
A funeral liturgy will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Urial the Archangel Episcopal Church, 3rd Avenue and Philadelphia Blvd., Sea Girt. Interment will be in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting will be tonight, Thursday, July 1, from 6 - 9 p.m. at The Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan.
Jeanette Van Pelt
Point Pleasant resident Jeanette D. Van Pelt died Monday, June 21 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
She was 68 years old.
Born in Somerville, she lived in Manasquan before moving to Point Pleasant.
She is a graduate of Manasquan High School.
She was predeceased by her husband Louis W. Van Pelt, Sr. in 1985.
Mrs. Van Pelt is survived by her mother, Susan Dempsey-Hancock, Manasquan; son and daughter-in-law Louis W. Jr. and Kathy Van Pelt, Pt. Pleasant; daughter and son in law Kathryn and Michael Oltrichter, Sr., Point Pleasant; daughter and son-in-law Sheri and Eric Bossick, Brick; brother, Harry B. Dempsey Jr., Brick; sister, Alyce Shinn, Steuben, Maine; and grandchildren Nicole, Michael, Tyler, Kyle, Kaylee and Ashlee.

Anne Hart
Sea Girt resident Anne [nee Jordan] Hart died Monday, June 21 in her home.
Born and raised in Jersey City, she was a resident of Sea Girt in 1963.
She was a graduate of St. Paul’s Academy and received and received an Executive Secretarial Degree from the Katherine Gibbs School, New York, N.Y.
She was an Executive Secretary with Otis Elevator Company, New York.
She was a communicant of St. Mark’s Church. She was a member of the Sea Girt Woman’s Club, the Women’s Auxiliary of the Sea Girt Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the Altar Rosary Society of St. Mark’s.
She was predeceased by her husband Dominic J. Hart, 1991.
Mrs. Hart is survived by her nieces and nephews.

Sally Gentile
Former Wall resident Sally Schicitano Gentile died Tuesday, June 22 at Colts Neck Village.
She was 91 years old.
Born in Schenectady, N.Y. she lived in Wall for 46 years before moving to Colts Neck.
In the early 1950’s she was the woner of Memory Lane Bar and Grill. She worked as a Hostess at Howard Johnsons, she worked in several factories. She was also a Psychiatric Technician at Skillman Hospital for many years and she had a vacuum stand at Collingswood Auction.
She was a communicant of the Church of St. Rose, Belmar. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of the church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxillary of Council 5611, Spring Lake. She was a member of the Pride of Wall Seniors.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Anthony Gentile, 1989.
Mrs. Gentile is survived by her son Frank T. Schicitano and his wife Barbara, Bradentown, Fla.; her daughter and her husband, Marie B. and David A. Dahrouge, Oakhurst; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Frances Ann Farley
Wall resident Frances Ann [nee Dougherty] Farley died Thursday, June 24 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
She was 68 years old.
Born in East Orange, she lived in South Orange for 13 years, and then Maplewood for 19 years. She maintained a summer residence in Avon for 29 years, moving there full time for 5 years, before coming to Wall in 1998.
She was a graduate of Our Lady of the Valley High School and the Berkley School of Business, East Orange and attended Caldwell College.
She was employed as an executive assistant with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Newark before retiring.
She was a communicant of St. Denis Church, Manasquan and a former parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, South Orange and St. Elizabeth’s Church, Avon. She was a member of the Benedictine Parents Association, Ridgely, Md.
Mrs. Farley is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles J. Farley, Jr. ; her sons, Patrick J., Philadelphia, Pa. and Charles J. III, Denton, Md.; her daughter Mary Fran Farley Guido, Chatham; her grand-daughter Katherine Frances Guido; and her sister, Margaret Dougherty, Toms River.

Elizabeth Hoffman
Belmar resident Elizabeth A. Hall Hoffman died Saturday, June 12 at Meridian Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center, Brick.
She was 67 years old.
Born in Neptune, she was raised in Wall.
She attended Central School and then Manasquan High School.
She was employed as a component assembler with Electronic Association, Inc., West Long Branch, in restaurant service at the Repetti’s Restaurants, Belmar and Asbury Park.
She was a member of the Ocean Beach Association of Belmar and a volunteer at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
She was predeceased by her parents, Francis M. Hall and Roselle H. [nee Stephenfield] Shirk; a brother, Robert M. Hall and sister, Mrs. Marguerite S. Ferris, Whiting.
Mrs. Hoffman is survived by her husband of 48 years, Christian T. Hoffman , Jr., Belmar; two sons, Dr. Christian T. Hoffman III and his wife, Maria, Freehold, Michael W. Hoffman, Esq. and his wife Denise, Jackson; two brothers, Francis Roy Hall and Joseph A. Hall, Wall; and two grand daughters, Megan and Krista, Freehold.

James A. Howard
Lakewood resident James A. Howard died Sunday, June 27 at Meridian Nursing Home, Bricktown.
He was 63 years old.
Born in New York City, he lived in Staten Island before moving to Belmar. In recent years he lived in Lakewood.
He received an associates degree from Brookdale Community College.
He spent 20 years in the US Navy, four years in the Vietnam War. He retired as the police dispatcher for Belmar PD in 1993, where he worked for 12 years. He also worked as a Real estate Broker for a short time.
He was currently the commander of the Belmar and Wall VFW. He is the former Scoutmaster of Cubscout Pack 40, Belmar, and the former assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 40, Belmar. He is the former coach of Belmar Little League baseball Championship Team, and was part of Belmar’s emergency management team.
He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Cheryl Becker.
Mr. Howard is survived by his wife Dorothy; two sons, James V. Howard and his wife Lorraine, Lakewood and Charles G. Howard, Belmar; three daughters, Tina Martin and her husband James, Wall, Annette Henry and her husband Kevin, Point Pleasant, and Dawn Maghan and her husband Timothy, Wall; ten grandchildren, James, Andrew, and Spencer Howard, Michelle, Sandy and Jim Martin, Luke and Jack Henry, Noah, Matthew Maghan.
