Hunt Valley, Md., resident Mary 'Maureen' Niland Timmins, formerly of Avon-by-the-Sea, died Wednesday, Feb. 7 in the Hospice of Baltimore, Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care.
Born in Jersey City, Mrs. Timmins lived in Avon before moving to Hunt Valley.
Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Jack; one son and daughter-in-law, John Jr. and Jeannine, Maryland; one daughter, Megan Timmins, Maryland; one brother, Jack Niland, Bayonne; and one sister, Peggy Mentrasti, Avon.
Funeral arrangements were from the OıBrien Funeral Home, Wall Township. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 31 in St. Elizabeth Church, Avon.

Spring Lake resident Evelyn Guyer Doty died Saturday, March 24 in Ocean Convalescent Center, Lakewood.
She was 95 years old.
Born in Ocean Grove, Mrs. Doty lived in Spring Lake.
Surviving are one son, Robert H., Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; and a nephew, Raymond G. Bauer, Haddonfield.
Funeral arrangements were from the Meehan Funeral Home, Spring Lake Heights.
Iolene C. Cole

Brielle resident Iolene C. Cole died Friday, March 23 in Sunnyside Manor Nursing Home, Wall Township.
She was 100 years old.
Born in Eureka, Kan., Mrs. Cole lived in Rahway for 44 years before moving to Brielle in 1974.
She was a 1921 graduate of the University of Kansas.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Rahway, and The Church in Brielle.
She was a volunteer with Rahway Hospital, and the Second Presbyterian Church, Rahway.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence E. Cole.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Christian Fischer, Brielle; two sisters, Elizabeth Janszen, Yonkers, N.Y., and Merle Morrison, Houston; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were from the OıBrien Funeral Home, Wall Township. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

William J. Barrett Sr.

Avon-by-the-Sea resident William Joseph Barrett Sr. died Saturday, March 24 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 73 years old.
Born in Trenton, Mr. Barrett lived in Pennington and Mount Holly, and summered in Avon before moving there permanently in 1960.
He was a graduate of Bordentown Military Institute.
He was CEO and president of Barrett Bituminous Company, Inc., Mount Holly, retiring in 1971. He was treasurer of the Barrett Paving Company, Trenton, and vice president of the New Jersey Asphalt Association.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Church, Avon, and a former member of Sacred Heart Church, Mount Holly.
He was a member of the Mount Holly Elks, Trenton Country Club, and Burlington County Country Club, Mount Holly.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was predeceased in 1989 by his wife, Bernice Fay Barrett, and in 1990 by his brother, Raymond A.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, William J. Jr. and Mary Lou, Avon; one brother, Robert L., Wall Township; and many nieces and nephews.

Spring Lake resident Irene F. Grasso died Thursday, March 22 in her home.
She earned a bachelorıs degree from Farleigh Dickinson University, and a masterıs degree from Adelphia University, Staten Island, N.Y.
She was employed for more than 20 years as the director of social services for the city of Asbury Park.
She was a member of St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake.
She was predeceased in 1982 by her husband, Arthur.
Surviving are her mother, Marion Finind; one sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Myles Doland, Spring Lake Heights; and many nieces and nephews.

Wall Township resident Dorothy Peters Riffert died Thursday, March 22 in the Medical Center of Ocean Township Brick Hospital.
She was 84 years old.
Born in Lebanon, Pa., Mrs. Riffert lived in Chatham before moving to Wall in 1960.
She was a homemaker.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas W. Riffert Jr.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Donald W.; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas W. and Cathy, Pennsylvania; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Ralph DiRobbio, Howell, and Donna and John Rycyk, Brick Township; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Wall Township resident J. Joseph Brown died Monday, March 26 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 91 years old.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Mr. Brown lived in Irvington for 24 years before moving to Wall 21 years ago.
He was employed for more than 25 years as a dairy worker with Clinton Milk Co., Newark, and had worked at various dairies in Hillside and Union.
He was a communicant of St. Rose Church, Belmar.
He was involved with the baseball programs at Wall High School and St. Rose High School, Belmar.
He was predeceased in 1986 by a son, Roger.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Martha Okolichany Brown; one daughter, Gail OıBrien, Canandaigua, N.Y.; one brother, Leonard, Kearny; one sister, Dorothy Glofka, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.,; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are from the OıBrien Funeral Home, Wall. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. today in the funeral home. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. tomorrow in the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.

Spring Lake Heights resident Helen Mottley Mast died Thursday, March 22 in her daughterıs home in North Salem, N.Y.
She was 76 years old.
Born in Elizabeth, Mrs. Mast lived in Brielle before moving to Spring Lake Heights in 1975.
She was a communicant of St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake.
She was predeceased in 1993 by her husband, Dr. Joseph E. Mast, and in 1998 by her brother, John R. Mottley.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Joelle Mast Loughran and Paul Loughran, North Salem, N.Y.; one sister, Barbara Groshans, Illinois; and two grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Thomas More Church.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Thomas A.; three son, Thomas Jr., New Jersey, Russell, Tennessee, and Francis, Missouri; five daughters, Theresa Walker, and Christina McIntyre, both of Virginia, Susan Voorhees, Tennessee, Joy Baum, Florida, and Mary Baum, New Jersey; one sister, Marie Gadd; and 12 grandchildren.
