Beatrice Giardina
Wall resident Beatrice Patricia Aglito Giardina died Tuesday, June 1 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 72 years old.
Born in Hackensack, she lived in Elmwood Park before moving to Wall 42 years ago.
She was a homemaker and greatly enjoyed opera and classical music. As a young woman, she had been employed as an executive secretary in the office of the president of Curtis Wright Aviation, Woodbridge.
Mrs. Giardina is survived by her husband, Joseph V. Giardina; her daughters and son-in-laws, Dr. Jennifer Giardina-Mc Partland and her husband Charles, Lanoka Harbor, Elizabeth Giardina-Preston and her husband Scott, Wall and Katherine Giardina-Wojciechowski and her husband Jaroslaw, Wall; her grandson, Tyler Joseph Preston; her sisters, Blanche Wilgan, Egg Harbor, Margaret Prince, Point Pleasant, and Dr. Barbara Ceilia and her husband Edward, Mr. Laurel and her brother-in-laws Angelo and Michael Giardina.
Funeral Services were from the O’Brien Funeral Home.

Karl Newman
Belmar resident Karl Edgar Newman died Monday, June 7 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 62 years old.
Born in Belmar, he lived there all of his life.
He was a lobster fisherman, owning and operating the Venture.
His love of the water never died; his family is sure he is up in heaven, fishing.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Eva Marie Newman, 1994 and his sister, Anndeen Prandamart.
Mr. Newman is survived by his daughter, Deborah Newman; his brother, Leon Newman; his niece Kimberly Toye; his nephew Leon Newman; and two grandchildren, Dominic Joseph Beerman and Zachary Douglas Wright.
Funeral services were from the Reilly Funeral Home.

Rose Sion
Wall resident Rose Marie Sion died Monday, June 7 at Meridian Hospice, Ocean.
She was 89 years old.
Born in Dunmore, Pa., she lived in Kearny for 26 years before moving to Wall.
She was a beautician at the Elm Beauty Lounge, Kearny before retiring to the shore.
She was a communicant of St. Rose Church, Belmar, a member of the St. Rose Altar and Rosary Society, a member of the Spring Lake Heights Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and a member of the Pride of Wall Senior Citizens Club.
Mrs. Sion is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dominick F. Sion, two sons, Frank, Manasquan and William G., Sciota, Pa., her daughter, Roberta marie Voskian, Brielle; her sisters Carm Mastriani and Isabelle Lytell, both of wall; and five grandchildren, Carleigh, Skyler Sion, Matthew and Melissa Voskian.

Edward Ballantyne
Sea Girt resident Edward Brown Ballantyne, a well-known architect, died suddenly in his home on June 5.
He was 69 years old.
Born in Scotland in the small village of Auchtermuchty, Fife, in November 1934, Edward was the youngest of a family of four, having two sisters and a brother. He was educated in Scotland, graduating from Bell Baxter High School, and thereafter studying Architecture at the Dundee Institute of Art and Technology from where he achieved his Degree in Architecture in 1958. In 1961, he was elected Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects having completed his practical training in Local Government Offices in Perthshire, Scotland, and Carlisle, England. Certified by N.C.A.R.B. in 1971 and licensed to practice architecture in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. Edward also served as a Consulting Architect with Degnan Design Group in Wall.
Throughout his youth, Edward enjoyed competing in sports, walking in the beautiful hills and glens of Scotland, and playing horn with the Auchtermuchty Brass Band. He also attended his local Parish Church of Scotland regularly where he taught at Sunday school.
In 1969 and soon thereafter, Edward opened his own architectural practice in White Plains, NY. He was the corporate architect for Simmonds Precision, a subsidy of Hercules Incorporated in New York. The practice included the design of a broad range of commercial, industrial and residential projects including office factories, restaurants and substantial retail, medical, educational and interior work with completed projects in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, North Carolina, Florida and Maine.
Edward is survived by his loving spouse, Erina, and daughters Dr. Jocelyn Ballantyne, now residing in Holland, and Claire and her husband Derek Maffucci with their baby daughter, Ava, who reside in Tarrytown, NY. He also leaves many relatives and friends in Scotland including his brother, Ian and wife Sheila, his sister Ann and her husband Bill Cunningham, his brother-in-law Ken Wilson, and all their families.
A Special Celebration of Edward's life will be held on this Thursday, June 10, at his favorite restaurant, Jimmy's Restaurant 1405 Asbury Avenue, Asbury Park, New Jersey, at 7 p.m.
O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township, is in charge of arrangements.
Beatrice Denman
Former Sea Girt resident Beatroce Beellingrath Denman died Monday, June 7.
She was 87 years old.
Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Sea Girt before moving to Cornelius, N.C. in 1997.
She belonged to Davidson United Methodist Church, Davidson, N.C. She was a member Emmaus Chapter #183 Order of the Easter Star, Linden and survived on the advisory board of the Elizabeth Assembly Order of Rainbow for Girls for ten years. She was also a member of the Grand Cross of Color of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Police and Firemen’s Local #8 of Ocean County, N.J.
She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Herbert G. Denman in 1984.
Mrs. Denman is survived by her children, Robert Denman, Punta Gorda, Fla., Lynn Stahl, Bethlehem, Pa. and Claire Schmidt, Cornelius, N.C.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Doris Nicoll
Manasquan resident Doris E. Nicoll died Monday, June 7 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
She was 82 years old.
Born and raised in Newark she lived in Roselle Park before moving to Manasquan 21 years ago.
She was employed with Allstate Insurance Co., Murry Hill, retiring 20 years ago.
She is a member of The Church in Brielle. She is a former PTA president in Roselle Park, past officer for the Ladies Auxiliary of Retired Police and Fire Association of Ocean County, Local #8. She was also a volunteer at Point Pleasant Hospital.
She was predeceased by her husband John F. Nicoll, 1998.
Mrs. Nicoll is survived by her sons, Guy R. Mather, Kannapolis, N.C., John A. Nicoll, Phillipsburg and James D. Nicoll, Roselle Park; her sister Anna Daggett, Englewood, Fla.; her grandchildren, James V. Nicoll, Matthew A. Nicoll, Brett A. Nicoll, Drew Maher, Melanie Maher and Ashley Marlow.
Services will be held by the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South St., Manasquan at 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday 10 a.m. at The Church in Brielle.

Thomas O’Connor
Wall resident Thomas A O’Connor died Wednesday, May 26 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 84 years old.
Born in N.Y.C., he has lived in Union City for many years before moving to Wall Twp.15 years ago.
He was employed in the Teamster’s Local #680, Newark for his entire working career and at the time of his retirement 21 years ago he was serving as the Vice President.
He was an Army veteran of World War II serving three years and one day, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He had served in Egypt, Ben Gaza, Tunisia, Sardinia, Tripoli, Italy and France.
He was a member of the VFW, the Manasquan Elks Lodge # 2534, the Holy Innocents Society, and the Pride of Wall Committee.
He was an avid sportsman and during his son’s childhood he was the Coach of the Jr. Pony Little League Team, Union City, which went to the Little League Word Series in Illinois.
He attended St. Catharine and St. Margaret Parish, Spring Lake.
Mr. O’Connor was predeceased by his three brothers James, John, and Patrick.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Geraldine [nee Barrett] O’Connor; his two sons, Richard, Sparta, Thomas and his wife Barbara, Fairfax, Va. and Manasquan; his five grandchildren Jennifer, Heather, Amy, Todd, Timothy; and his seven great grandchildren Tyler, Claire, Tommy, Claudia, Chloe, Tanner, and Jack.

Russsell Edmonds
Spring Lake Heights resident Russell S. Edmonds died Wednesday, May 26 in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia after a long illness.
He was 89 years old.
Born in Neshanic, he had lived in Princeton and Spring Lake Heights for many years before living in Cairo, W.Va. from 1992 until 2003, when he returned to Spring Lake Heights.
He graduated from the Somerville High School and from the School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania in 1937.
During his career he worked for the State of New Jersey in the Bureau of Animal Industry of the Department of Agriculture for five years and then started his own animal practice. He built his first animal hospital, Lawrence Hospital for Animals, on Province Line Road in Lawrence Twp. In 1952 he expanded his operation to large buildings on the Princeton Pike to become the largest small animal hospital in the state at that time.
In later years, he went into bio-medical research, naming that branch of his profession in honor of his late son Arthur Edmonds.
He was also employed as a sales associate at his son’s business Edmonds Realty Co., Spring Lake from 1985-1992.
He was a member of the New Jersey Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. He was an active member of the North Parkersburg, the Princeton, and the Wall Kiwanis Club and had voluntarily transcribed their newsletters for many years.
He was a member of the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church for 30 years and a past Trustee. He was very active in the Hughes River Presbyterian Church, Cairo, W.Va. while living in Cairo. He was elected to three terms on the Lawrence Twp. Board of Education and was President in 1952, playing a key part in the building of the junior high school.
Mr. Edmonds was predeceased by his son Arthur Edmonds in 1958.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Doris [nee Vogel] Edmonds; his former wife Ruth Smith, Newton, Pa.; his sons, Russell S. Jr. and his wife Karen Edmonds, Allenwood, Bruce C. and his wife Virginia Edmonds, Freehold, Vernon and Tanis Edmonds, Del., his daughters, Virginia Edmonds, Freehold, Nancy L. and her husband James Schroeder, Robbinsville and Spring Lake Heights, Grace Edmonds, Del.; his stepchildren Frank Vogel, Pa., and Judith Vogel, Fla.; his sister Grace MacCombia, Pa.; and his 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren and two nephews.

Erma Trott
Wall resident Erma G. Trott died Friday, May 28 in Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 98 years old.
She was born in Nassau, Bahamas and moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. where she lived for 50 years before moving to Wall two years ago.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Edwin in 1958 and her daughter Eleanor McBridge.
She is survived by one daughter, Grace Roper, Belmar; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
She was a member of St. Phillips Episcopal Church, N.Y.C.

Joseph Racioppi
The Woodlands, Texas resident Joseph A. Racioppi died Monday, May 24 in Houston, Texas after a long battle with cancer.
He was 51 years old.
He graduated from Fordham University, Bronx, N.Y. in 1975.
He began his career with Mobil Oil in 1977. From 1977-1981 he was with the marketing department. From 1981-1987 he worked as a landman in Denver, Colo. His career with Mobil Natural Gas, Inc. started with his move to Houston in 1987. In late 1993 to mid 1998, he was employed as the commercial manager for Mobil Oil Indonesia, Inc., Jakartata, Indonesia. During mid 1998 to 2000, he became the joint venture manager for Mobil Oil Indonesia Inc., Jakarta, Indonesia. From 2000-2004, he was employed as the U.S. Transportation and Regulatory Manager, Exxon Mobil Gas and Power Marketing, Houston, Texas.
Mr. Racioppi is survived by his wife of 22 years, Maryanne Racioppi; children Shauna, Jennifer, Michael, Mark; parents Joseph and Janice Racioppi, Wall; sisters Janice McMullen, Point Pleasant, Judy Belka, Spring Lake Heights, Jeana Blakeslee, Wall; brothers John Racioppi, Point Pleasant, Jeffry Racioppi, Delaware Township, Jim Racioppi, Brick, their spouses and 11 nieces and nephews.
