Wall Township resident Joseph Nelson Miller died Tuesday, Jan. 23 Geraldine Thompson Care Center, Wall.
He was 90 years old.
Born in Bayonne, Mr. Miller moved to Wall in 1990.
He was employed as a porter with Pollack Hospital, Jersey City, retiring in 1985.
He was predeceased by a brother, Harold; and a sister, Evelyn Schmidt.
Surviving is one niece, Amy Schmidt, Rutherford.
Gunhild A. Olsen
Homemaker
Wall Township resident Gunhild Amundsen Olsen died Thursday, Jan. 25 in Laurelton Village Nursing Home, Brick Township.
She was 94 years old.
Born and raised in Lofuten, Norway, Mrs. Olsen lived in Chicago and Brooklyn before moving to the Shore area, living in Belmar, Point Pleasant and Wall.
She was predeceased in 1986 by her husband of 54 years, Bernard Olsen.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Bernard 'Ben' and Betty, Wall; one daughter and son-in-law, Alfie and Larry Algonas, Point Pleasant; and two grandsons.

Scarborough, N.Y., resident Louise Wilk Raines, formerly of Brielle, died Thursday, Jan. 25 in Montefiore Hospital, New York.
Born in Bayonne, Mrs. Raines lived in North Caldwell and Brielle before moving to New York.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thaddeus.
Surviving are one son, Ronald, Madison, Wis.; one daughter, Christine Rosner, Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Spring Lake resident Virginia Winters Tausek died Thursday, Jan. 25 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 85 years old.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Tausek lived in Bradley Beach before moving to Spring Lake 51 years ago.
She was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake.
She was a member of the AARP Spring Lake Heights Chapter, and had been the president of the Spring Lake-Sea Girt Little League.
She was predeceased in 1989 by her husband, Carl Daniel.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Nancy, Sea Girt; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Ronald Wilson, Spring Lake Heights, and Virginia and Dennis Van Pelt, with whom she lived; one sister, Charlotte Scott, Neptune City; and seven grandchildren, Ronald, Patricia, Timothy, Jodie, Dana, Peter, and Luke; and two great-grandsons, Jacob and Benjamin.

Dorothy T. Yard

Sea Girt resident Dorothy Thomas Yard died Saturday, Jan. 27 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 86 years old.
Born in New Hampshire, Mrs. Yard lived in Sea Girt for many years.
She was the CEO and chairperson of American Timber Co., Sea Girt, retiring in June.
She attended Shore Christian Center, Wall Township.
She was involved in the Womenıs Relief Corps and the Monday Club.
She was predeceased in 1986 by her husband of 53 years, Carl A. Sr.; in 1973 by her son, Henry H., and in 1992 by her daughter, Catharine A. Yard.
Surviving are four sons, Richard, Jackson, Steven, Oroville, Calif., Carl Jr., Wall, and William, Modesto, Calif.; two daughters, Victoria Steiner, Seattle, and Elizabeth Rasmussen, Chico, Calif.; two brothers, Robert Thomas, Kentucky, and Charles Thomas, Maine; five sisters, Mildred Thiele, Maine, Blanche Thiele and Katherine Knudson, both of Virginia, and Phyllis Kaparn and Barbara Matthews, New Jersey; 24 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are from the Meehan Funeral Home, Spring Lake Heights. Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. tomorrow in Shore Christian Center, Wall.

Vincenzo Perricone

North Bellmore, N.Y., resident Vincenzo 'Vincent' Perricone, whose son lives in Wall Township, died Sunday, Jan. 28 in St. Johnıs Episcopal Hospital, Queens, N.Y.
He was 87 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Perricone lived in Bellmore for over 30 years.
He was employed with the Equitable Life Assurance Society before retiring.
He was a member of the College of Life Underwriters and Kiwanis International.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was predeceased in 1971 by his son, Capt. Charles V., USAF.
Surviving is his wife, Beatrice Pellicane Perricone; two sons and daughters-in-law, Philip and Marilyn, Wall, and Tom and Lori, Redmond, Wash.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Thomas A. Smyth Jr.
Spring Lake Heights resident Thomas Alexander Smyth Jr. died Tuesday, Jan. 14 in his home.
He was 59 years old.
Born in Chicago, Mr. Smyth lived in West Chicago, Ill., before moving to Spring Lake Heights 23 years ago.
He was an Air Force veteran, serving in Vietnam as a sergeant.
Surviving are his three brothers, Richard, Robert and Michael, all of West Chicago, Ill.; and one sister, Martha J. Smith, West Chicago, Ill.

Marie E. Scharg
Spring Lake resident Marie E. Scharg died Sunday, Feb. 2 in her home.
She was 90 years old.
Born in New York City, Mrs. Scharg lived in Rutherford, and summered in Spring Lake since 1934 until moving there permanently in 1971.
She was a member of the Spring Lake and Rutherford Women's Clubs, and of Work Weavers, a creative writing in Spring Lake.
She was a published member of the International Society of Poets in Maryland and was a recipient of the editor's choice award.
She was predeceased in 1987 by her husband, Adam F. Scharg, and in 1983 by her son, Raymond.
Surviving are her daughter Marilyn [Kim] Scharg, Spring Lake, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Elise Scharg, Washington Township; a nephew, John Wrieden, Florida; and two nieces, Claire S. Readey, California, and Linda S. Demung, Vermont.

Ronald J. Price
Spring Lake Heights resident Ronald J. Price died Friday, Jan. 31 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.
He was 60 years old.
Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Price lived in Westfield before moving to the Shore Area over 20 years ago, residing in Sea Girt and Spring Lake Heights.
He attended Peekskill Military Academy.
He was employed for 10 years as an emergency room technician with Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Previously, he was employed for 20 years as the manager of the Brunner Bus Company, Berkeley Heights.
He was an exempt member of the Westfield Fire Department, a past member of the Spring Lake Heights First Aid, and an active member of the Spring Lake Heights Little League.
Mr. Price was an avid fisherman.
Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Elena Rawlins Price; his mother, Eleanor Price, Spring Lake Heights; two sons, James and Aaron, both at home; one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Joe Padula, Greensboro, N.C.; two stepsons, Wally Bilotta and Neil Bilotta, both of Spring Lake Heights; one stepdaughter, Amy Bilotta, Spring Lake Heights; his mother-in-law, Helen Rawlins, Spring Lake Heights; and two grandsons, Joseph and Nicholas Padula.
