Walter A. Kremer
Brielle resident Walter Anthony Kremer died Friday, June 6 in Meridian Hospice, Brick.
He was 84 years old.
Mr. Kremer was born in Newark and resided in Cranford before moving to Brielle in 1959.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII.
Mr. Kremer was a communicant of St. Denis Church, Manasquan.
He is predeceased by his wife, Gloria Kremer, who died in 1997.
Mr. Kremer is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Peter Andriacchi, Manasquan; 2 grandchildren, Amy and Lisa Andriacchi; 2 sisters-in-law and their spouses, Dominick and Carmella Vuolo and Alexander and Sara Sena.
Services were under the direction of the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan.

H.S. "Buddy" Russell
Wall Township resident H.S. "Buddy" Russell died on Wednesday, June 4 in the Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
He was 70 years old.
Mr. Russell was born in Neptune and lived in Farmingdale before moving to Wall Township in 1968.
He was the owner of Lakewood Auto Supply, Lakewood.
Mr. Russell was an avid football player in his youth, as a member of the Belmar American Legion Championship Team in 1947 and as All Shore First Team Quarterback at Freehold High School in 1950. He was regional Director of the Bank of New York, and sat on the board of directors of Allaire Community Bank, the Board of Governors of Jersey Shore Medical Center, the Wall Township Board of Adjustment, the Wall Foundation for Excellence and the Advisory Board of National Community Bank. He was a member of the Freehold Lodge F & A.M., the Shriners, the Steering Committee of the Wall Township Republicans Club, and was a member of the Manasquan River Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons, James Gary Russell and Gregory S. Russell, both of Allenwood; daughter-in-law, Shelly Russell; step sons, Samuel Real, Wall, Anthony Pezzolo, Atlantic City; step daughters, Theresa Keynton, Tinton Falls, and Lisa Ann Alexandrian, San Ramon, CA, and his sister Joan Grunden, Largo, Fla., Mr. Russell also leaves behind his grandchildren, Scott and Kimberly, and step grandchildren, Katrina, Claire and Kyle.
Services were under the direction of the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township.

Kathleen Doyle
Avon-by-the-Sea resident Kathleen Murray Doyle died on Wednesday, June 4 at a friends home in Avon.
She was 58 years old.
Ms. Doyle was born in Newark, and grew up in West Caldwell. She moved to the Shore in 1943, living in Wall Township before moving to Avon 3 years ago.
She was a school nurse at St. Rose High School in Belmar since 1991. Ms. Doyle also worked at Sisters Academy in Asbury Park and Summer Hill Nursery School in Wall for the last 2 years.
Ms. Doyle is a graduate of Mount St. Dominic School, Caldwell, she received her BSN from Boston College, and was an active alumni at both schools. She was also a member of the Women of Irish Heritage and a Communicant of St. Rose Church, Belmar.
She is predeceased by her parents, Walter Murray and Kathleen Motzenbecker Murray Douglas.
Ms. Doyle is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen Doyle McGraw and William McGraw, Madison, Wisconsin; one brother, Walter Charles Murray, Tampa, Fla.; one grandson, Liam D. McGraw, and many other family and friends who will miss her.
Services were under the direction of the Reilly Funeral Home, Belmar.

James Messick
Manasquan resident James Howell Messick died on Saturday, June 7 at the Sharrock Gardens Care Center, Brick Township.
He was 85 years old.
Mr. Messick was born in Manasquan and was a lifelong resident. He recently moved to Lakewood and was a winter resident of Coconut Creek, Fla.
Mr. Messick was employed by Jersey Central Power & Light, Lakewood for 28 years. After his retirement he worked for the Manasquan Beach Department before retiring in 1993.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He served with Admiral Barbey in Japan, Korea and Australia.
Mr. Messick is predeceased by his brother, Leon Messick, and first wife, Billie Messick.
Surviving is his wife Gloria F. Messick, Lakewood; son, David Messick, Manasquan; daughter-in-law, Mary; daughter, Kathy Osborn, Massey, MD; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Robert Wright, Manasquan. Mr. Merrick leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan.
Paul Richard Collins
Manasquan resident Paul Richard Collins, formerly of Summit died Thursday, June 5 at the Bayonne Medical Center.
He was 57 years old.
Mr. Collins was born and raised in Newark.
He graduated from Barringer High School and Essex County Community College.
At the time of his death Mr. Collins had retired from Lucent Technology after a 35 year career in control management and support services.
In 1997, Mr. Collins retired as a First Sergeant from the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserves with 27 years in military service. He was a lifelong member of both the Veteran's of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Mr. Collins volunteered for the Summit Municipal Alliance to Prevent Substance Abuse, the Summit YMCA, the Summit First Night, and the Algonquin Theatre that benefited from his generosity of spirit. He also served as an active member of the Human Rights Committee for the Handicapped at Willowglen Academy.
Mr. Collins is predeceased by his parents Dolores Singerle and John Collins. Surviving is his devoted wife, Coleen Mahoney; sister, Patricia McDermott; daughter, Christine; sons, Paul and Kassidy; granddaughters, Jessica and Kristina.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Sweeney Funeral Home.

Maureen Ann Benter
Macon, Ga., resident Maureen Ann Benter, formerly of Spring Lake, died Tuesday, May 13 at home.
She was 70 years old.
Mrs. Benter was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and she lived in Spring Lake, Shreveport, La., Savannah, Ga., Memphis, Tenn., and Livonia, Mich., before moving to Macon, Ga. in 1981.
She was a graduate of Rosarian Academy, West Palm Beach, Fla., and the University of Miami where she was a member of Alpha Delta Phi Sorority.
Mrs. Benter was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and Holy Spirit Church, both in Macon, Ga.
Services were under the direction of Timothy E. Ryan Home For Funerals, Toms River.
Stephanie S. Pasek
Holiday, Fla., resident Stephanie S. Pasek, who has a nephew in Manasquan, died Friday, June 6 at Integrated Health Services, Tarpon Springs, Fla.
She was 88 years old.
Mrs. Pasek was born in Newark, and lived in Bayville before moving to Florida in the early 80's.
She worked on the production line at Marcal Paper Products in Newark.
Mrs. Pasek was a member of the Ladies Guild and Communicant of St. Vincent DePaul Church, Holiday, Fla., the NJ Social Club of Elfers, Fla., and the Polish American Club of Holiday, Fla.
She is predeceased by her husband, Frank.
Mrs. Pasek is survived by 3 nephews, Ed Wywra, Manasquan, Robert Wywra, Tinton Falls, Eugene Wywra, Germansville, Pa.
Visitation will be today from 7-9 p.m. at the Reilly Funeral Home, Belmar. A mass of christian burial will be held Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Rose Church, Belmar.
June A. Whitehead
Spring Hill, Fla. resident, June A. Whitehead, formerly of Manasquan, died Saturday, May 31.
She was 81 years old.
Mrs. Whitehead was born and raised in Wall Township before moving to Manasquan in 1948. Then, in 1991 she moved to Leesburg, Fla.
She was a homemaker and also worked in the cafeterias of Manasquan schools. Prior to moving to Florida she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of the Manasquan Elks, Manasquan Fire Company No. 2, and the local chapter of Deborah Hospital. After moving to Florida she was active in many organizations in her community including the Hawthorne Kitchen Band. She was a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Whitehead was predeceased by her husband Edward L. Sr. in 1989 and a son, Richard W. in 2001.
She is survived by 2 sons, Edward L. Jr., Clermont, Fla., and Robert D., Wellington, Fla.; one daughter, Nancy L. Solomon; one brother, Oscar D. Morton, Wall; 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were from the Brewer and Son Funeral Home, Spring Hill, Fla.

Florence Thompson
Stewart, Fla., resident Florence H. Thompson, formerly of Manasquan died Monday, June 9 at the Waters Edge, Palm City, Fla.
She was 93 years old.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Red Bank, and resided in Manasquan since 1924. She lived in Seaside during the 1930's and 1940's.
She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church, Manasquan.
Mrs. Thompson is predeceased by her husband, Ross C. Thompson, who died in 1978.
She is survived by her 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey R. and Ann Thompson, Stewart, Fla., and David V. and Renae Thompson, Severna Park, MD.; 2 grandsons, Scott Thompson and his wife, Christine, and Craig Thompson; 3 great grandchildren, Bailey Paige, Kelsey DeeAnn and Sydney Marie, and one niece, Judy Zusack.
A funeral service will be held at the graveside in Greenwood cemetery, Brielle on Saturday, June 14 at noon. Friends are invited to call on Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan.
