Natalie Hemmett
Lakewood resident Natalie Robbe Hemmett, whose son lives in Wall Township, died Saturday, May 30 in Meridian Nursing Rehab, Brick Township.
She was 93 years old.
Mrs. Hemmett was born in West Shokan, N.Y. and later moved to Southbury, Conn.
Mrs. Hemmett is a graduate of La Salle Jr. College, Mass.
She was a Clerical Statistician for Warner-Lambert Co., Morris Plains for 15 years and retired in 1974.
She was a lifelong member of the Daughters of The American Revolution and of the Petersborough Historical Society, Petersborough, N.H.
Mrs. Hemmett enjoyed gardening and baking. The genealogical study into her family's background was her favorite and lifelong pastime. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a special grandmother and was lovingly known as "cookiegram" by her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Roland B. Hemmett.
Mrs. Hemmett is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roland B. and Lynn, Wall Township; grandchildren, Matthew and Paige; nephew and wife, Fred and Sally Robbe, Atlanta; niece, Pamela Farleigh, Weston, Conn.; nephew, William Robbe, Greenwich, Conn., and a great granddaughter, Chloe.
Visitation will be at 2 p.m. this Saturday, June 7, followed by a 4 p.m. Funeral Service at D'Elia Funeral Home, Lakewood.
William John Caruso
Wall Township resident William John Caruso died Monday, June 2 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Born and raised in Jersey City he had lived in Wall Township for the past 30 years and was a member of the "Pride of Wall Committee".
Mr. Caruso had been employed as a Machinist at Westinghouse Corp., Jersey City for 22 years before his retirement. He was a longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Jersey City.
He was an Army veteran serving as a Captain with the Transportation Corps, 356 Harbor Craft Company, Company A First Staging Area Battalion for 4 years.
Mr. Caruso was a communicant of St. Catharine's Church, Spring Lake.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mr. Caruso is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gloria, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitations will be today from 2-4 p.m. and tonight from 7-9 p.m. at O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall.
Gail Ann Green
Brielle resident Gail AnnGreen died on Monday, June 3 at the Medical Center of Ocean County.
She was 69 years old.
A homemaker, she was a resident of Brielle for the past 28 years.
Mrs. Green was a graduate of Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pa, class of 1956.
Mrs. Green was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and devoted her life to her family.
She is survived by her husband Barry K. Green.
She is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Barry K. and Laura Green, Sea Girt; one daughter and son-in-law, Ellen Ann and Todd Pretz, Brielle; and six granddaughters, Kimberly, Jessica, Ashley, Jennifer, Amy and Kelly.
Visitation is today, June 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Neary Quinn Funeral Home. 39 South Street, Manasquan. A funeral service and entombment will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 6 at Atlantic View cemetery, Manasquan.
Maureen A. Flynn
Wall Township resident Maureen A. Flynn died Wednesday, June 4 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
She was born in Jersey City, and lived in Sea Girt before coming to Wall in 1997.
Ms. Flynn was a teacher, and later as an administrator and Director of English Curriculum for the Freehold Regional High School District.
She was a graduate of Fordham University and earned her masters degree from Seton Hall University.
Ms. Flynn was a communicant of St. Mark's Church, Sea Girt and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, and the Rosary Makers. She also sang with the Four Seasons Chorale.
Ms. Flynn is predeceased by her parents, William J. Flynn and Mary Humphries Flynn, and her brother, Robert Flynn.
She is survived by her brother, William Flynn, Denver, and her sister Margaret Flynn, Wall. Ms. Flynn also leaves her nieces and nephews, William Flynn, Ashburn,Va, Ellen Flynn, Aurora, Colo., Brian Flynn, Washington D.C., Kathleen and Tim Zitzman, Knoxville, TN, and her great niece and nephew Madeline and Timothy Zirzman.
Visitations will be Friday, June 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O'Brien Funeral Home, Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday, June 7 at 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. Mark's Church, Sea Girt.
Edmond G. Robbins
Sea Girt resident Edmond G "Gar" Robbins died on Tuesday, June 3 at the Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank.
He was 66 years old.
Mr. Robbins was a resident of Manasquan prior to moving to Sea Girt in 1949.
He graduated from Manasquan High School and University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1959.
Mr. Robbins was Vice President and Accountant of E.G. Robbins Construction Co., Sea Girt. He was also Lieutenant, in the U.S. Navy ROTC from 1959 to 1961.
He was a former member of the Spring Lake Golf and County Club and was an avid golfer, who enjoyed time with his family.
Mr. Robbins is predeceased by his parents, Mike and Elizabeth Robbins. He is survived by his sister, Nancy J. Cooley, Colts Neck; brother-in-law, Justus Cooley, and nephews, Jay and Mike Cooley.
Visitation is Monday, June 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Neary Quinn Funeral Home. 39 South Street, Manasquan. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. the same day at Fairview cemetery, Middletown

John F. Schappert
Belmar resident John F. Schappert died on Saturday, June 7 at home.
He was 76 years old.
Mr. Schappert was born in Jersey City, where he lived until moving to Belmar in 1972.
He is a retired stereotyper for the New York Times after 30 years.
Mr. Schappert is a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the WWII and a Syracuse University Alumni.
He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Nora; one brother, Mortimer, and a nephew, Charles J. Hoffmann III.
Mr. Schappert is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda; a daughter and her husband, Nora and David Murray, Hamilton; 3 sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Karyn, Williamsburg, VA, Matthew, Union City, and Michael, Belmar, and a sister, Josephine Hoffman, Grand Saline, TX.
Services were under the direction of Reilly Funeral Home, Belmar.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Schappert's name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Rosemary A. Judge
Sea Girt resident Rosemary A. Judge died Friday, June 6 in the Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
She was 82 years old.
Ms. Judge was born and raised in Jersey City and lived in Hackensack before moving to Sea Girt and Hutchinson Island, Fla., 6 years ago.
She is a graduate of St. Aloysius High School, and Seton Hall University, South Orange.
Ms. Judge had a career with Mobil Corporation that spanned 39 years, and played a prominent role in Mobil's philanthropic activities for many years. She was the first woman to hold several key executive positions with Mobil: assistant to the chairman; secretary of the executive committee; secretary of the board of directors and the corporation, and president of the Mobil Foundation.
She served as a Regent of Seton Hall University for many years. Ms. Judge was a longtime member of the Women's Economic Roundtable in New York City and a member of its advisory council, and was a member of the Sea Girt Women's Club. She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church, Sea Girt, and was a member of it's Altar Rosary Society.
Ms. Judge is survived by sister, Jean Judge, Sea Girt; nieces, Marguerite and Kathleen Judge, Chicago; nephews, Frank Judge, Ridgefield, Ct., and Gerard Judge, Chicago, and grandniece and grandnephew, Julia and Spencer Judge, Ridgefield, Ct.
Services were under the direction of O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township.
Memorial contributions in Ms. Judge's name can be made to the Social Concerns Committee of St. Mark's Church, Sea Girt, or the Scholarship Fund of Seton Hall University, South Orange.
