PUMAREJO, Heriberto M. Sr., 81, of Union Beach, passed away at home on Sunday, September 14, 2008.

Born in Puerto Rico, he resided in Union Beach for over 42 years. He was a Bozeman mate with the Merchant Marines for the Prudential Lines for 30 years, before retiring in 1987.

Heriberto was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Maria ( Martinez ) Pumarejo; two sons, Jack Carrasco and Charles Pumarejo; and two sisters. Surviving are his wife, Carmen (Diaz) Pumarejo; a son and daughter-in-law, Herbert and Kathryn Pumarejo, Jr. of Union Beach ; and three grandchildren, Jessica Carrasco, Maria Pumarejo and Herbert Pumarejo, III.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, with an 8: 30PM service at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA of Central Jersey, 141 Bodman Place, Red Bank, NJ 07701.

ELEANOR L. PASINO CAHILL, a lifelong resident of Keyport died Saturday, September 13, 2008 at home. She was 85.

She raised six children, and in her later years, she was a secretary at St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel. She also worked as a real estate agent for several years until her retirement. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Keyport.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Garrymore.
Surviving are her husband, James; her six children, John of California, Eleanor Welch of California, Elizabeth Cahill of Washington, DC, Marie Nealis of Chatham, and Jane Cummons of Maine ; a sister, Gloria McCarthy of Maryland ; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9: 45 AM in the Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, followed by a 10: 30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 9: 45 AM.

MC NEIL, Charles F., 68, of Cliffwood, Aberdeen Twp., passed away at home, Friday, September 12, 2008.

Born in Jersey City, he resided in Hazlet for 30 years, before moving to Cliffwood, 13 years ago. He was a postal worker with the Shrewsbury Post Office for 34 years, before retiring in 1992. Charles was a crossing guard with the Aberdeen Twp. Schools at the corner of Church and Atlantic ; and he was a delivery person for the Star Ledger. He was a communicant of St. Joseph ’s RC Church, Keyport. A Navy veteran who served during peacetime aboard the USS Mullinitz in 1959, he was severely burned in a boiler explosion onboard the ship while in Athens, Greece.

Charles was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Catherine (Kelly) McNeil; and a brother, Donald McNeil in 2005. He is survived by his wife, Julie (Mayer) McNeil; two sons, Thomas McNeil of Somerset and Timothy McNeil of Toms River; four sisters, Carol Flynn of Matthews, NC; Judith Shackleton of Clark; Linda Morrow of Toms River; and Deborah McNeil of Rahway; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited Monday, 7-9PM and Tuesday, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport; and Wednesday from 8: 30AM, with a 9: 15AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, Keyport. Interment with military honors will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.

OLSEN, Robert “Porky” K., 60, of Cliffwood, passed away Friday, September 12, 2008, at home.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, he resided most of his life in the Matawan/Aberdeen area, before moving to Cliffwood. He was a chemical operator with IFF, Union Beach, for 20 years, and Chevron, Perth Amboy for six years, before retiring in 2007.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, George and Estelle (Harris) Olsen. Surviving are his wife, Kim (Glassford) Olsen; his children, Robert Olsen and wife, Terry, of Sarasota, FL; Shannon Hall and husband, Derek, of Greensboro, NC; Megan Olsen and Kelsey Olsen, both of Cliffwood; siblings, Diane Czyzewski of Bayville; Lynn Tuttle of Walpole, NH; James Olsen of West Chester, PA; and Richard Olsen of Lincroft; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Jeanie Glassford, Union Beach; and five grandchildren, Joshua, Madeline, McKenzie, Connor and Christopher.

Family and friends are invited Sunday, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, and Monday, 10AM with a 11AM service at Matawan United Methodist Church, Aberdeen. Cremation will be private.

FUDEN, Marie (O’Brien), 89, of Keyport, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 10, 2008.

Marie was born in Manhattan and raised in Ridgewood, Queens, NY .

Marie was predeceased by her husband, Frank Fuden; her parents; two brothers and a sister. She was a loving and cherished mother of Julanne Schmitt, grandmother of Scott and Christopher; and great-grandmother to Alexandra.

She retired from the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor. Marie enjoyed donating her time and energy to many local organizations. She loved to cook and collect cookbooks. She was a long time Sunday NY Times crossword puzzle solver. She fought a long courageous battle with several cancers.

At the family’s request, services and cremation are private. Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, handled the funeral arrangements.

HRABOSKY, Richard M., 65, of Toms River, with family and relatives in Ocean and Monmouth Counties, passed away, Monday, August 25, 2008, at Community Medical Center, Toms River, after a long illness.

He was a retired Chemical Analyst with International Flavor and Fragrances, Union Beach He was a communicant with St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, Toms River ; and Holy Family RC Church, Union Beach. He was a former baseball coach for the Hazlet Youth Athletic League; a former member of the Union Beach First-Aid Squad; a former drummer of the Union Beach “Firesiders” Drum and Bugle Corp. and the “Jungle-Airs” M&M Color Guard; an active member of the Holy Name Society of Holy Family Church; and a member of the Hawthorne Cabbalero’s. He was a die hard fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. He served his country in the United States Air Force.

Richard was predeceased by his father, John Hrabosky, Sr. in 1986; and a grandson, Brandon. Surviving is his wife, Charlene (Fazio) Hrabosky; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Susanne of Keansburg; three daughters and son-in-laws, Debra and Louis Milevoi; Stephanie and David Lopes, all of Tinton Falls; Dennise and her fiancé, Jim Lasher of North Middletown; grandchildren, Dara Doughtery, Faith and Joshua Hrabosky, David and Zachary Lopes, and Michael Milevoi; his mother, Mary E. Hrabosky; a brother, John J. Hrabosky, Jr., both of Union Beach; two sisters and brother-in-laws, Catherine and Mitch Shade of Union Beach, and Mary and Roger Peterson of Brick. Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, on Thursday, 2-4 & 7-9PM for visitation and Friday, 9AM, with a 10AM Mass at Holy Family RC Church, Union Beach. Entombment to follow at St. Joseph ’s Mausoleum, Keyport.

BECK, Patricia A., 84, of Holmdel, passed away, Monday, September 08, 2008, at Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel.

Born in Los Angeles, CA, she resided in Rutherford and Sayreville, before moving to Holmdel. She was a bank teller with Howard Savings Bank, Newark, for 15 years, before retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, South Amboy, and a member of the Eastern Star, Matawan.

Patricia was predeceased by her husband, John W. Beck, Sr. in 1988; her parents, George S. and Belle (Levy) Tyner; her sister, Arlene Lordi in 2006; a granddaughter, Jessica Braun in 2006 and a grandson, Thomas Selenski in 2004. Surviving are her children, Richard Braun and wife, Elaine, of MD; Thomas Braun and wife, Linda, of Susanville, CA ; Kathy Turi and husband, Raymond of Aventura, FL ; John W. Beck, Jr. and wife, Astrid of FL; and Ella Selenski and husband, Thomas of FL; grandchildren, Melissa Turi, Andrew and Rebecca Braun; Jocelyne Young and Jennifer DiBella; and great grandchildren, Migdalia and Marlaney Young, and Michael DiBella.

Family and friends are invited Friday, 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport; and Saturday, 10: 30AM, with an 11AM service at the funeral home. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

SZYSZLO, Stella C. (Sierpina), 79, of Keyport, passed away, Monday, September 8, 2008, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank.

Born in Poland, she resided in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, for 20 years, before moving to Keyport in 1953. She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Joseph ’s RC Church, Keyport.

Stella was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Szyszlo in 1986; her parents, Stanley and Mary (Skop) Sierpina; and a sister, Sophie LaVerne. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John J. and Tammy Szyszlo of Pelham, NH; a daughter, Mary Christine O’Dwyer of Keyport; two sisters, Genia Linde and Joan Comba, both of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; six grandchildren, Tiffany and Steven O’Dwyer, Stephanie Goodrow, Jordan Madej, Matthew and Daniel Szyszlo; one great grandson, Jeremy Arresta; and several nieces and nephews, all of Ottawa.

Family and friends are invited Thursday, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport; and Friday, from 8: 30AM, with a 9: 15AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Keyport. Interment to follow at St. Joseph ’s Cemetery, Keyport.

JOSEPH THOMAS McQUILLAN OF ABERDEEN – died Monday, September 08, 2008 at home. He was 87.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in Aberdeen for the past five years. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he was a truck driver for 38 years, and had retired from Werner Continental in Secaucus. He was a member of the Teamsters local #707, and the McFadden Brothers American Legion Post in Brooklyn. He was a Navy veteran of WW II.

He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Garcia McQuillan in 1986. Surviving are two daughters, Joan Brown and Kathleen McQuillan, both of Aberdeen ; and a brother, James McQuillan of Whitestone, NY .

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 8: 30 AM in the Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, followed by a 9: 15 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, Keyport. Interment with military honors will follow at Oceanview Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9PM.

COLEMAN, Sadie A., 85, of Hazlet, died Thursday, September 4, 2008, at Care One in Jackson, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born and raised in Greewich Village, NY, before moving to Hazlet in 1957. She worked for AT&T as a phone operator and was also a cook at the Red Roof Tavern, Holmdel. She was a member of the Hazlet Senior Citizens club and loved her trips to Atlantic City. She bowled for many years at Airport Plaza Lanes. She was a communicant of St. Benedict’s Church, Holmdel.

Sadie was predeceased by her husband, James, in 1991; her parents, Tony and Lena (Lavaggi) Trombino; her brothers, Sam and Joseph Trombino; and her daughter-in-law, Joyce Coleman. Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Hart and husband, George of Howell; her sons, Dennis Coleman of Winter Springs, FL; and Jimmy Coleman and wife, Beverly, of Orlando, FL; her sister, Marie and husband Paul Barrese of Hazlet; her brother, Bobby Trombino and wife, Pat, of Queens, NY; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Crystal, Megan, Dustin, Michael and Nicole; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited Monday, 2-4 & 7-9PM for visitation at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, and Tuesday, 9AM, with a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Benedict’s Church, Holmdel. Interment to follow at St. Joseph ’s Cemetery, Keyport.
