CONNELLY, Silvana, 73, of Whiting, with relatives in Monmouth and Ocean County, passed away Monday, July 21, 2008, at home.

Born on September 30, 1934 in Italy, she moved to the United States in 1964. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and one of the world’s best cooks.

Silvana was predeceased by her parents when she was a young girl in Italy. She was the youngest of 12 children. Surviving are her children and their families; Christine Connelly-Robinson and her husband Christopher, along with their children, Erin and Eric, and great grandson, Jeffrey, all of Florida ; Linda Michaud-Estelle and her husband David, along with their children, Glen Michaud, Jr., David and Tara Ann Estelle of Union Beach; Michael Connelly and his wife Christine, along with their children, Amanda and Kieren; Anthony Connelly and his son, Tyler of Brick. She is also survived by her ex-husband, George Connelly of Hazlet; and many other relatives in the United States and Italy. She also leaves behind a dear friend, Mary Perrone, who was always at her side with a helping hand. She will be greatly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited Friday, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. On Saturday, family and friends may gather 9AM at the funeral home, with a 10AM service. Interment to follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations to offset medical expenses.

O’STEEN, Tyler Edward, 8, of Keyport, passed away July 20, 2008, at Memorial Health University Medical Center, Savannah, GA.

Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident of Keyport. He was a student at Keyport Central School. He was a communicant of Jesus the Lord Church. He loved wrestling, Pop Warner football, and Bayshore Little League baseball. He was a part of the Potholders R Us, with his second grade class, donating to the Sunshine House in Point Pleasant.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Marcus Daniel and Tammy (Schaber) O’Steen; a sister, Alexandra “Lexi” and a brother, Daniel “Danny,” both at home; maternal grandparents, Edward and Joyce Schaber of Whiting; paternal grandparents, Marcus and Maryellen O’Steen of Cliffwood Beach; maternal great grandmother, Catherine Schaber of Hazlet; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family and friends are invited Thursday, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. On Friday, a 9AM funeral service will take place at the funeral home, with a 10AM Mass at Jesus the Lord Church, Keyport. Interment to follow at St. Joseph ’s Cemetery, Keyport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

HUSSEY, Robert R., 44, of Neptune City, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.

Born in Red Bank, he resided in Laurence Harbor before moving to Neptune City, 13 years ago. He was a self-employed general contractor.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Charles M. and Elizabeth ( Paterson ) Hussey; a sister, Elizabeth Zawartkay and a brother, Charles M. Hussey, Jr. Surviving is his wife, Carol D. (Rosen) Hussey; a sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Allen Whatton of Old Bridge ; and his nieces and nephews, Aaron and Arlee Whatton, Kelly Johns and goddaughter, Chelsea Johns.

Family and friends are invited Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, with an 8PM service at the funeral home. Cremation is private.

DOOLEY, Rita J., 79, of Cheesequake Village, Old Bridge, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.

Born in Manhattan, she resided in the Bronx before moving to Old Bridge 33 years ago. Rita was a homemaker, a communicant of Most Holy Redeemer Church ; a member of the St. Clement’s seniors; a member and chaplain of Club 60; and the treasury of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW #6761.

Rita was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Mary Frances McHenry. Surviving are her husband of 33 years, William Dooley; her stepchildren, John, Barbara, and Kevin Dooley; and one sister, Dominican Sisters of Sparkhill, NY, Sister Jean Thomas McHenry, O.P. of Yonkers, NY.

Family and friends are invited Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. On Thursday, a funeral service will take place 9AM at the funeral home, followed by a 10AM Mass at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Old Bridge. Cremation will be private.

ALFRED L. CURTH died Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was 75.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in Ozone Park before moving to Hazlet 41 years ago. Prior to his retirement in 1995, he was a finance manager for Fiduciary Trust at 2 World Trade Center, 97th floor for 18 years. Prior to that, he worked for Gilligan and Will in Manhattan, also as a finance manager for 18 years. He was a great basketball coach for HYAL, and loved thoroughbred horse racing, golf, Frank Sinatra and the Mets. He was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church, Middletown .

He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes Donahue Curth in November, 2007.
Surviving are two sons, Bob of Concord, NC and Bill of Woodbridge; two daughters, Marion Layton of Hazlet and Mary Fedorco of Hazlet; his best sister in the world, Barbara Costello of Seaford, NY; a special sister in law, Margie Koster of New Hyde Park, NY; and seven grandchildren, Ryan, Megan, Erin, Brian, Evan, Matthew and Daniel.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10: 00 AM in the Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, followed by an 11: 00 AM Funeral Service at King of Kings Lutheran Church, Middletown. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Keyport. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

QUINE, Suzanne, 51, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank.

She was born in Bloomfield. She was employed as a drug rehabilitation counselor with the Discovery Institute, Marlboro.

Suzanne is survived by her fiancé, Frank Dispensire.

Cremation is private. Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport handled the arrangements.

SICKLES, Robert H., Jr., 53, of Union Beach, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at home.

Born in South Amboy, he resided in Hazlet for 28 years, prior to moving to Union Beach. He was a union carpenter with Local #2250, Red Bank for the past 28 years. He was an avid model train hobbyist; a gifted craftsman, and had a great love for animals.

Robert is survived by his wife, Terry J. (Gilgannon) Sickles; his parents, Robert H. and Eileen Sickles, Sr. of Hazlet; his two children, Jason Sickles of Matawan and Diane Sickles of NH; a brother, James Sickles of Union Beach; many nieces and nephews; and one great niece and one great nephew.

Family and friends are invited Sunday, 3-5 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. A funeral service will be Monday, (TBA) at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall St., Eatontown, NJ 07724.

ZALEWSKI-HOWARTH, Bonnie, 60, of Middletown, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at home.

Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident of Keansburg. She was a waitress and bartender at a local restaurant and tavern, and the activities coordinator at McGrath Towers, Keansburg, for two years. Bonnie was a member of the Bayshore Wheeler Motorcycle Club. Not only was she our mother, but our best friend. She was loved by everyone she met.

Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Mary (Debesky) Weber; a brother, Anthony Weber and a sister, Margaret Albe. Surviving are her three children, Sharon Barger of Aberdeen ; Carlo Zalewski, Jr. of Barnegat; and Toni Cribbin of Middletown ; a sister, Sharon Weber of Manahawkin; and a brother, Gary Weber of Brick; and nine grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited Friday, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, for visitation. A funeral service will be 8: 30AM Saturday at the funeral home, with a 9: 15AM Mass at St. Joseph ’s Church, Keyport. Interment to follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.

Richard C. “Dick” McQuestion of ABERDEEN – went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, July 11, 2008 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was 84.

Born in New York, NY, he resided in Bronxville before moving to Aberdeen in 1964. Prior to his retirement in 1993, he was a sales manager for Berlin and Jones in East Rutherford for 45 years, and was received awards for top salesmanship several times. He was an Army Veteran of WW II, having participated in the Invasion of Normandy. Wounded twice and returned to the front lines, he received a bronze star and the combat infantry badge. He also served as a drummer for the Army band, and was a great admirer of General George Patton. Dick was witty, fun, and had a great sense of humor. He loved his family, his friends and his home. He enjoyed traveling, and visited Ireland twice. One of his great loves was dancing to Irish music, and he was considered a groupie to the Willie Lynch Band and the Round the House Band. He was a member of the Irish Federation of Monmouth County and was a former member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was also a member of VFW #2179 in Middletown.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles McQuestion and Emily Schneidt McQuestion Splain, his step father, Joseph Splain, a brother, Herbert McQuestion and his sister Florence Ebecke.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Helen “Mickey” Reffler McQuestion; a son, Richard and his wife Lori of Pompano Beach, FL; a daughter Tracie Ramirez and her husband Robert of Parlin; a brother, Roy McQuestion of Riverdale, NY ; two granddaughters, Bianca and Rebecca; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with military honors will be held on Sunday at 8: 30 PM in the Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. Cremation will be private. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the WW II Monument Foundation, P.O. Box 96475 Washington, DC 20090-6475

CHANDLER, Paul, 55, of the Monmouth County area, passed on to be with the Lord on July 8, 2008.

He was born in Camp Kilmer, NJ, and made the Jersey Shore his home. He was an Optician by trade, but he was passionate for sports, especially the NY Yankees and Washington Redskins.

Paul was predeceased by his father, William, an American Indian, and a WWII and Korean War Veteran; and his best friend, Henry Zalewski. He is survived by his adoring wife, Cindy; two beautiful daughters from his first marriage, Amanda Amaral of RI; and Alyssa Iddings of PA; and the joy of his life, his precious granddaughter, Reily Jean Amaral; his mother, Helen Chandler; loving siblings, William, Helen, Michael, Robert, Linda and Donna; a fantastic family of in-laws; and 12 very special nieces and nephews.

He, and his love for life, will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever live in our hearts.

Cremation was private. A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at the family home on Saturday, from 2-6PM. Memorial contributions, in Paul’s name, may be made to “The Seeing Eye”, P.O. Box 375, Morristown, NJ 07963. Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport handled the arrangements.

BELLIVEAU, Rose Mary T. (McCauley), 61, of Cliffwood Beach, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at Riverview Medical Center.

Born in Jersey City, she resided in Newark and Middletown, before moving to Cliffwood Beach. She worked for Unlimited Auto, Keyport, as a bus aide for special needs children; and Funtime, Cliffwood, as she loved being around all children.

Rose was predeceased by her parents, Elwood and Theresa McCauley; and a brother, Anthony Mosiello. Surviving is her husband, Robert; a daughter, Catherine McCauley; a son, Kevin; a sister, Marlene Holsten; a brother, Robert Taylor; a sister-in-law, Mary Mosiello and a grandchild, Francesca D’Andrea.

Visitation is Friday, 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. Cremation is private.
