Herenia Acevedo Santiago, “Iris,” 74, formerly of Hammonton, died Friday, October 1, 2010, in Florida.
Born in Isabela, Puerto Rico, Iris worked for several different factories in Hammonton before opening a restaurant with her beloved husband, Tomas, in Isabela. She enjoyed singing, walking, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Iris was very loved by all. She always had something nice to say about anyone and loved God.
Predeceased by: husband, Tomas Perez Santiago; stepson, William Roman Santiago; siblings, Carmelo Acevedo, Nicolas Acevedo, Epigmenia “Mina” Acevedo, Tomas “Tomasito” Acevedo, Josefa “Josie” Acevedo, Jaime Acevedo, Andres Acevedo, Erasmo Acevedo, Celestina “Celia” Acevedo. Surviving her are: daughter, Myrna Santiago and her husband Paul Ciarlante of Hammonton, Gladys Medina of Tampa, Fla., Nancy and Paul Gautier of Florida, daughter-in-law, Juana “Cuca” Santiago of Puerto Rico; son-in-law, Juan Moreno Sr. of Hammonton; siblings, Benigno Acevedo, Juan A. “Guango” Acevedo, Saturnina “Lucy” Perez, Juanita Romero, Carmelo “Carlo” Acevedo; grandchildren, Giovani, Alaniz, Sashalyn Medina, Juan Moreno Jr., Joanna and Joel Gautier, Thomas and Jamie Santiago, Ernesto Morales; 11 great-grandchildren; many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Memorial Mass on Saturday, November 13, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish at St. Joseph Church followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

Joseph Buscemi Sr., 81, of West Berlin, died Monday, November 8, 2010, at Virtua Hospital in Marlton.
Born in Atco, he was a lifelong resident. Joe owned and operated State Cleaners with his brothers in Tansboro. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Predeceased by: parents, Salvatore and Concetti Buscemi. Surviving him are: wife, Josephine (nee DePalma); son, Joseph Buscemi Jr. and his wife Cheryl of West Berlin; daughter, Diane Buscemi-Reynolds and Philip Burnham II, Esq. of Voorhees; brothers, Thomas and his wife Mary of Elmtowne, Salvatore and his wife Lucille of Buena, Richard and his wife Dorothy of Westley Chapel, Fla.; loving grandchildren, Joey Buscemi III, Lauren Buscemi, Frankie Reynolds Jr., Marley Reynolds.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 12, at St. Simon Stock Parish Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Berlin followed by burial at Gate of Heaven cemetery in Berlin.

Ruth A. Daminger, 85, of Hammonton, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at Princeton Care Center in Princeton Township, N.J.
Born in Upper Deerfield Township, she was a lifelong southern New Jersey resident. Mrs. Daminger was a retired office manager and proofreader for the Vineland Times Journal and the Hammonton News. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Hammonton, the Dewey Chapter #155 Order of the Eastern Star, Hammonton AARP Chapter 4808, the Hammonton Presbyterian Church, and the Hammonton Historical Society.
Predeceased by: husband, George Daminger. Surviving her are: sister, Charlotte Hann and her husband William of Jamesburg, N.J.; nieces, Dania Lachapelle, Susan Brennan, Donna Hiles; nephews, Ben Fogletto Jr., William Hann; many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial services on Saturday, December 11, at 11 a.m. at the Hammonton Presbyterian Church.

John A. McGinnis, 63, of Folsom, died Monday, November 29, 2010.
Born in Philadelphia, he worked for EDS in Voorhees.
Surviving him are: wife, Janis (nee Weisbecker); sisters, Fran McGinnis, Joan McGinnis.

Robert G. Stiles, 78, of Buena, died Sunday, November 28, 2010, at the SJH HospiceCare Inpatient Care Center in Bridgeton.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was a longtime southern New Jersey resident prior to moving to Buena in 1975. Bob was employed as a machinist all of his life before retiring in 1998 from the Garvey Corporation in Winslow. He was an avid bowler and also had a love of music of which he enjoyed singing and playing his accordion. He was also a member of a Mummer’s Band for several years. In his later years, Bob served as a volunteer with the National Greyhound Adoption Program.
Predeceased by: parents, John L. and Louise B. (nee Peer) Stiles; brother, Jack Stiles who died in World War II. Surviving him are: wife of 30 years, Maxine (nee Wilson); daughter, Bobbi Jo Hewitt and her husband William of Hopewell Township; stepdaughters, Donna McLean and her husband Hugh of Connecticut, Denise Crandall and her husband Jeff of Arizona; grandchildren, Melissa, Sarah, Christopher and his wife Stefani Hewitt, Robyn, Ben McLean, John, Paul and his wife Bess Crandall; great-grandchildren, Owen, Sean, Nora Crandall; his beloved K-9 companion, Candy.

Reno Farinelli, 84, of Hammonton, died Friday, July 1, 2011.
A graduate of Hammonton High School class of 1945, Reno served in the United States Army 3118th Signal Group in Germany. Reno and Caroline owned and operated Hammonton Bottling Company from 1960 to 1990. Reno was vice president of Professional Photographic Products and Packard Shutter Company from 1975 to 2005. With a lifelong interest in model airplanes, u-line and radio control, Reno was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics beginning in his high school years and sporting the early membership number of 354. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 186.
Predeceased by: daughter, Veronica. Surviving him are: beloved wife of 59 years, Caroline (nee Kosowski); daughter, Adele (Darryl) Harper of Mullica Hill; son, Reno Gerard (Leah) of Fiddletown, Calif.; grandson, Derek Harper.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on July 11, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, St. Joseph Church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Stephen M. Rooney, 54, of Hammonton, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in Philadelphia, he moved to Hammonton in 1974 and was a 1975 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Steve worked for the South Jersey Gas Company Waterford Division as a Street Line Mechanic for more than 22 years. Prior to South Jersey Gas Company, he worked as a Senior Water Repairer at the Hammonton Water Department for 14 years. In 1995, Steve and Joe Pantalone established “We’ve Got You Covered Canopies.” Steve was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. He served on the St. Joseph High School Strategic Committee and was a member of the Wildcatters club. Steve was best known as a wonderful family man, a hard worker, and a man with the wittiest sense of humor. He became an endearing friend to everyone he met.
Surviving him are: wife, Nancy (nee Allen); daughters, Stephanie and her fiancé Chris Pistone, Sara and her boyfriend Rich Verrillo; mother, Lucille Ricciutti of Hammonton; sisters, Marilyn Garvey and her husband Tom of Winslow, Cindy Neduchin of Philadelphia, Gina Mertis and her husband Manny of Hammonton; many brothers, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren, and all his extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing tonight, July 13, from 6 – 9 p.m. and again on Thursday, July 14, from 8:30– 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

Marie P. Ferranto (nee DiLullo), 90, of Hammonton, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Innova Care in Hammonton.
Born in Philadelphia, she graduated from Vare Jr. High School and Philadelphia Vocational School for Design and Dress Making. She later went on to work for W.B. Kessler Clothing Company as a hand sewer. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, St. Rita Society and the Altar Rosary Society. Marie loved to crochet, knit, and sew.
Predeceased by: husband, James; parents, Nicola and Guilia DiLullo; brother, Luciana DiLullo. Surviving her are: children, Lillian Massaro and her husband Michael, Julia Nicastro, James N. Ferranto and his wife RoseEtta; grandchildren, Michael and Dianne Massaro, James and Dawn Massaro, Mark and Lynette Massaro, John and Cyndi Dubowski, James and Keri Ferranto, Jaime and Joseph Porretta, Jonathan and Nancy Ferranto, Thomas W. Antoinette Sacco (nee Esposito), 95, of Hammonton, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Virtua Hospital in Berlin.
Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong resident. Antoinette worked as a seamstress for Harbor Fashion. She attended St. Joseph Church and loved to bake, watch soap operas, and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Predeceased by: husband, Albert A. Sacco; parents, Dominic and Carmella Esposito; brothers, Tony, Michael, Rocco Esposito; sisters, Mary Jones, Angie McNamee, Mildred Lardi, Helen Campbell. Surviving her are: daughter, Loretta Argentieri and her husband Frank of Hammonton; brothers, Frank, Dominic, Lawrence, Louis Esposito; sisters, Rose Grasso, Lucy Manno, Florence DePalma; granddaughter, Jennifer.

Tina Amanda Rossi Cartica, 93, died Monday, July 4, 2011, peacefully in Lambertville.
She was born in Calascio Aquila in the province of Abruzzi, Italy on September 11, 1917. At the age of two, Tina emigrated to the United States with her mother Clotilide and sister Irma. They settled in the Bronx, New York City where her mother was a successful seamstress. Tina married Gino, also from New York City on June 12, 1943. For over 60 years, Tina was a devoted homemaker, capably raising both children and grandchildren. When Gino retired from the masonry profession in 1980, the two moved to Hammonton to be near family. They lived in Hammonton for 20 years along with their daughter and grandchildren. After Gina passed away, Tina moved to Lawrenceville where she developed many friendships. Tina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Predeceased by: husband, Gino; sister, Irma. Surviving her are: son, Robert Cartica of New Brunswick; daughter, Carol Tenenbaum of Hammonton; grandchildren, Jeremy Tenenbaum, Alissa Schumann; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Maya Schumann.
