Ralph J. (Buddy) Benedetto, 79, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at home surrounded by his family and friends after a lengthy illness.
Born to the late Ralph and Ellen Benedetto, he lived his entire life in Hammonton. He was a graduate of Hammonton High School Class of 1947 and a member of the American Legion Post #186 of Hammonton. Buddy served his country as a submariner in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, and enjoyed talking about his adventures on the USS VOLADOR. Upon discharge from the service, he was employed by J.C. Miller, then became a butcher and worked for Acme Markets and Casel’s Market in Margate.
Predeceased by: brother, Fred. Surviving him are: loving wife of 53 years, Marge (nee Casella); devoted children, Lynn Michel and her husband Scott of Horsham, Pa., Robert and his wife Karen of Hammonton; grandchildren, Matthew, Brian Michel, Shannon, Ashley Benedetto; great-grandchild, Hannah June Gray; brother, Robert Benedetto of Hammonton; sisters-in-law, Mary Benedetto, Mary Jane Casella, Dolores Lombardo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing today, July 29, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will be Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

Keith R. Ransom, 52, recently passed away at his residence.
Keith was a lifelong resident of Hammonton. He was a 1974 graduate of Hammonton High School. He worked at Ransom Raised Farms, owned and operated K-Ran Construction & Remodeling Co. He enjoyed farming, dirt bike riding, fishing, and painting.
Predeceased by: parents, Frank and Rita (nee Elfry) Ransom. Surviving him are: sons, Frank and his wife Diane of Hammonton, Bryan and his companion Nicole Blazer; grandson, Bryan Jr. all of Collings Lakes; sister, Ann and her companion Joe Carr of Hammonton; brother, Kevin of Elm; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial services on Thursday, July 30, at 7:30 p.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home where a visitation will be held from 7 p.m. until time of services. Burial will be private.

Juanita Ortiz, 65, of Hammonton, died Sunday, July 26, 2009, in AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Galloway Township.
Born in Isabela, Puerto Rico, she lived in Hammonton for many years.
Surviving her are: husband, Luis Ortiz; children, Lisette Roman and her husband Richard of Galloway, Luis Manuel Ortiz, Maritza Ortiz and her husband Catobey Collier of Hammonton; grandchildren, Luis Manuel Ortiz-Matos, Jovanni Ortiz, Samantha Roman, Richard Roman Jr., Clarissa Cruz, Tobi Collier, Catobey Collier Jr., Jordan Collier; brothers, Antonio Perez, Hector Perez of Puerto Rico, Armando Perez of Vineland; sisters, Maria Alvarado, Irene Cortez of Egg Harbor, Marguerita Cruz of Wisconsin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing today, July 29, from 7 – 9 p.m. at Carnesale Funeral Home and again on Thursday, July 30, at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

J. Richard Fields, 65, of Hammonton, died Thursday, August 20, 2009, at Virtua Hospital in Marlton.
Born in Allentown, N.J., he was a Hammonton resident for many years. Rich worked as a manager for Herr Foods Inc. in Egg Harbor and also served in the United States Coast Guard. He was an avid hunter and took great pride in his yard. His greatest joy was his family. He loved golfing, playing horseshoes and going in the woods with his sons. He loved playing with his grandchildren and was happiest when he was spending time doing anything with his partner, his wife. Rich was recently selected for induction into the Sports Hall of Fame of his high school alma mater in Allentown. Rich will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving him are: wife, Judy (nee Di Joseph) of Hammonton; sons, Brian and his wife Dominique, Mark and his wife Tanya, Scott and his wife Denise all of Hammonton; mother, Anne Fields; brother of Tom Fields and his wife Joyce of Whiting and Betty Hyatt and her husband George of Williamstown; proud grandfather of Andrew, Christopher, Caitlyn, Maureen.

Elizabeth Lea Ricca, 52, of Mt. Holly, died Monday, August 17, 2009, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
Born in Camden, she lived in Bellmawr and Nesco before moving to Mt. Holly. She was a graduate of Oakcrest High School.
Surviving her are: son, Kyle David Ricca; daughter, Shannon Lea Ricca of Easthampton; mother, Elizabeth Ricca of Sweetwater; sister of: John (Rochelle) Ricca, Sandy (Joseph) Ferrell, Brenda Ricca (Dewey), Joanne Julian (Jeff Brown), Michele (Timothy) LoSasso; many nieces and nephews; many cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends attended a memorial service on Tuesday, August 25, at the Marinella Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

Felicino Marano, 85, of Hammonton, died Thursday, August 20, 2009, at Atlantic City Medical Center Mainland Division.
Born in Montella, Italy, he worked in Switzerland for 12 years as a cabinetmaker then immigrated to America in 1973.
Surviving him are: wife, Salvatrice “Velia” Marano of Hammonton; sons, Marco Marano of Hammonton, Alfonso Marano of Tulsa, Okla.; brother of Salvatore Marano of Montella, Italy, Pia Prados of Alicante, Spain; grandchildren, Max and Molly Marano.

James F. LaSassa, 83, of Hammonton, died Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Virtua Hospital in Berlin.
Born in Philadelphia, James was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in Panama during World War II. He operated a plumbing business in Hammonton and Florida before moving to Las Vegas where he worked in plumbing and contracting until his retirement.
Surviving him are: sister, Marion Riley of Richmond, Mich.; brother, Dominic “Jungie” LaSassa of Atlantic City; son, Dennis LaSassa and his wife Carol of Hammonton; daughter Marian Nurkiewicz and her husband Stephen of Sicklerville; daughter, Martine LaSassa of Clifton; son, James of Florida; grandchildren, Dennis LaSassa II and his wife Donna and their children Dennis III, David, Jenna, Danielle, Paul LaSassa and Shanna and their son Paul Jr.; Jonathan, Gabriella and Adriana Nurkiewicz.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Frank J. Stueber Jr., 60, of Hammonton, died Monday, August 17, 2009, at home.
Surviving him are: beloved wife, Maureen; son, Michael and his wife Jenn.

Rogelio Roman Rojas, 78, of Mullica Township, died Monday, August 17, 2009, at home.
Born in Arecibo, P.R., he was a resident of the Hammonton area since 1954. Before retiring he held several jobs including Bertino Farms and Deer Park Baking Company in Hammonton and a metal shop in Pennsauken.
Surviving him are: wife, Leonides; brothers, Hector Roman, Luis Roman; sisters, Iris Roman, Carmela Roman, Adela Roman.
