ANTOINETTE RUSSANO, 92, of JACKSON, died peacefully Monday, Sept. 18, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Mrs. Russano was born in Brooklyn and had lived there, moving to The Villages, Howell, in 1995 and to Jackson in 2005. She was a homemaker.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred, in 2005; four brothers and two sisters. Surviving are a son, Alfred; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.

J. ARTHUR RUSSELL, 80, of FARMINGDALE, died Sunday, March 4, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Russell was born in Farmingdale and was a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He was a former chief and member of the Farmingdale Hook & Ladder Company 1 for over 50 years. He was an honorary member of Engine Company 2, Freehold. Mr. Russell was an automotive machinist at Lakewood Auto Supply, Neptune, for two years. Prior to that, he worked at J.H. Kelly Co., Freehold, for over 20 years.
Surviving are several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Lung Association of New Jersey, 1600 Route 22 East, Union, NJ 07083, would be appreciated.

SIMON A. RUTHERFORD, 60, of JACKSON, died Saturday, Sept. 16 at Beth Israel Hospital, Newark. Mr. Rutherford was born in Birmingham, England and lived in the Annandale section of Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Jackson 19 years ago. Mr. Rutherford was a heavy equipment operator at the Fresh Kills Landfill, Staten Island, for 18 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Heavy Equipment Operators, Local 15, N.Y.C. Mr. Rutherford was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving as Seabee in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Rutherford was a heart transplant recipient two years ago.
He was predeceased by his mother, Theresa Rutherford. Surviving are his wife, Denise Rutherford of Jackson; two sons, Andrew Rutherford of Jackson and Craig Rutherford of Brick; father, Alexander Rutherford of Stradforge; one sister, Anita Rutherford of Stradforge; and one brother, William Rutherford of England.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8: 30 p.m. Wednesday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 8: 30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. LOUIS J. SANDUCCI, 81, of Roscoe, N.Y., whose daughter lives in POINT PLEASANT, died Saturday, Feb. 3, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Mr. Sanducci was born in Manhattan and had lived in Closter before moving to Roscoe in 1993. He wintered in Point Pleasant. Mr. Sanducci was a production manager for Farrand Optical, Valhalla, N.Y., until his retirement in 1987. He was a detail-orientated individual. Their home and property were the love of their life. "What could be better than to love those around you, wife of 61 years, children, grandchildren and friends. To enjoy nature and the environment — truly a man of grand stature."
Surviving are his wife, Theresa Sanducci; two sons, Robert Sanducci of Tivoli, N.Y., and Louis Sanducci Jr. of Oradell; a daughter, Lorraine Riker of Point Pleasant; a brother, Anthony Sanducci of Smoke Rise; and six grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. His Funeral Mass will be offered at 11: 30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 George Road, Freehold Township. Interment is private.

KRISTINE B. SARTE, 49, of FREEHOLD, died Saturday, Jan. 27, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Mrs. Sarte was born in Cory, Pa., raised in Marion, N.Y., and had lived in Dover, Clifton and Helmetta before settling in Freehold in 1994. She received her bachelor's degree in music education, majoring in piano and minoring in voice, from Roberts Wesleyan College, Rochester, N.Y. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and an active member in the choir. Mrs. Sarte volunteered as an accompanying pianist for many of the Freehold Schools Choirs. Besides being a full-time mom, Kristine worked as a pharmacy technician for the CVS Pharmacy in Manalapan and was a substitute teacher for the Freehold Township school system.
Surviving are her husband of 19 years, Jesus Sarte of Freehold; a son, Jason Sarte at home; a daughter, Julie Sarte at home; her parents, the Rev. Russell and Ruth Johnson of Russell, Pa.; a brother, Bruce Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa.; two sisters, Karen Marsh of Rochester, N.Y., and Linnea MacMillan of Vernon; her mother-in-law, Julieta Sarte of Old Bridge; four brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law; and many cousins.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. ROBERT F. SCHEAR SR., 75, of HOWELL, died Wednesday, June 14, at Rose Garden Nursing & Rehab. Center, Toms River. Mr. Schear was born in Elizabeth and lived in Howell for the past 55 years. He was a parishioner of the Church of St. Veronica, Howell. Mr. Schear was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Mr. Schear owned and operated Tel-Appli, Neptune, until his retirement in 1980. After selling the repair business, he was a 3M service technician in Freehold. During his retirement, he also delivered auto parts for Norwood Auto Parts Distribution, Lakewood.
He was predeceased by his wife, Nina Schear, in 1982; and two brothers, Joseph and Carl R. Schear. Surviving are his former wife and longtime friend, Regina Schear of Howell; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Jr. and Cathy Schear of Howell, and Paul and Kathy Schear of Bayville, Berkeley; a daughter and son-in-law, Kevin and Suzanne Wood of Toms River; two brothers, Gerard Schear of Lakewood, and Thomas Schear of Milford, Pa.; 10 grandchildren, Kevin Jr. of Albany, N.Y., Kelly and Kathryn of Toms River, Daniel of Middletown, N.Y., Robert III and Andrew of Howell, and Paul "P.J.", Michael, Mellissa and Melanie of Bayville; 10 nephews; and six nieces.

LEON E. SCHEIDT, 76, of Bethesda, Md., formerly of FARMINGDALE, died Friday, Nov. 24, at Suburban Hospital, Bethesda, Md. Mr. Scheidt was born in Farmingdale and lived in Hamilton Square before moving to Bethesda in 1969. Leon was a member of the North Bethesda United Methodist Church, Bethesda, Md., as well as the Isaac Walton League, Potomac, Md. He was also a member of the Bethesda Rotary International and was an U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War. Mr. Scheidt was a financial analyst for IBM in Gaithersberg, Md., until his retirement 15 years ago.
He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Robbins Scheidt, in 1998, and a son, Paul W. Scheidt, in 2002. Surviving are a son, Leon P. Scheidt of Butler, Pa.; a beloved companion, Jenny Bartholomot of Bethesda, Md.; a sister, Virginia Brandl of Farmingdale; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. VIVIAN SCHMELING, 91, of Swainton, formerly of HOWELL, died Saturday, April 28, at her son's home in Swainton. Mrs. Schmeling was born in Matawan and had lived in Holmdel before moving to The Villages, Howell, in 1986. She graduated from Matawan High School and was a lifelong administrative assistant with the last 40 years of her career as church secretary of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hazlet. She also participated in many volunteer positions at St. John's, including Sunday school teacher and director of Christian education. She loved the beach, golf, her bridge club and her souped up '55 Chevy. In later years, she was an active volunteer at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, and the First United Methodist Church of Farmingdale, and knitted hundreds of caps for newborn infants.
She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, August "Gus" Schmeling, in March 1995. Surviving are a son and his wife, the Rev. Raymond and Joanne Schmeling of Swainton; a sister, Katherine Pruden of Matawan; two grandchildren, Matthew and Melanie; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Noah.
Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. Thursday until her funeral service at 11 a.m. at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Richards officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.

SUSAN D. SEMRAD, 83, of HOWELL, died Friday, Aug. 31, at home. Mrs. Semrad was born in Maderia, Pa., and had lived in Long Island and Lakewood before moving to Howell two weeks ago. Mrs. Semrad was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She also sang with the Glen Miller Orchestra during the 1940s. Mrs. Semrad was employed with the New York Telephone Co., New York City, for 32 years retiring as a Customer Relations Manager in 1985.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1995. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Anthony Gerbasi with whom she lived; one sister, Mary Mayer of Farmingdale, N.Y.; and three grandchildren, Frank, Danielle and Nicole Gerbasi.

GINA MARIE TREROTOLA SGAMBATI, 51, of HOWELL, died Sunday, Feb. 11, in Howell. Mrs. Sgambati was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and had lived in North Bergen before moving to Howell in 1988. She was a teacher's aide in the Howell Township School System for the past five years. She also worked part-time in a sales position at the Dress Barn, Howell, for the past year.
She was predeceased by her brother, Frank Trerotola, in 1986. Surviving are a son, Andrew Sgambati and a daughter, Francesca Sgambati, both at home; a stepson, Michael Sgambati of Secaucus; a stepdaughter, Denise Dworkin of Howell; a brother, Tony Trerotola of Camerillo, Calif.; three grandchildren, Corey Neukum, Nicole Neukum, and Jessi Dworkin; and several nieces and nephews.

HELEN J. SHARKEY, 86, of FREEHOLD, died Saturday, Aug. 4, at home. Mrs. Sharkey was born in Carteret and lived there before moving to The Villages, Howell, in 1975. Mrs. Sharkey worked for the U.S. Naval Department at Westinghouse Electric, Metuchen, retiring in 1975.
She was predeceased by her husband, James, in 1983. Surviving are a son, Stephen J. Sharkey of Freehold; a sister, Mary Menjok of East Orange; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

GLORIA SHARP, 75, of MANCHESTER, died Monday, Feb. 26, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Mrs. Sharp was born in Rumson and had lived in Long Branch before moving to Manchester 18 years ago. She was a sales associate at Sears, Ocean Township, for 20 years, retiring in 1990.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Sharp, in 1996, and her long-time companion, Lou Mayer, in 2000. Surviving are a son, Ronald Sharp of Florida; four daughters, Debra Sharp of Avon-By-The-Sea, Brenda Ward of Florida, Patricia Sharp of Ocean Gate, and Linda Potter of New Egypt; a sister, Grace Peterson of Belmar; a brother, William McGirr of California; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
