JOSEPH SYDOR, AGE 81, SOUTH AMBOY
Joseph Sydor, 81, of South Amboy died yesterday at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy Division.
A native of Jersey City, he resided in South Amboy for the past 20 years.
He was a truck driver for International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 641 of Jersey City for 30 years. After that, he was employed by Sound Design in Jersey City for 10 years until his retirement in 1985.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Mary's R.C. Church in South Amboy. He was a member of the South Amboy Senior Citizens, and the New Jersey Teamsters Retirees Club in Hazlet.
He was predeceased by four brothers, George, John, Michael and Steve Sydor, and a sister, Anna Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Raczkowski Moroski Sydor; his stepdaughter, Marianne Moroski Krawiec of Englishtown; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann Krawiec and Michele Rose Krawiec; a brother, James Sydor of Lyndhurst; and four sisters, Mary Leleniewski, Brenda Sydor and Kitti Turi, all of Jersey City, and Helen Bergeron of Spotswood.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main St., South Amboy, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Mary's R.C. Church in South Amboy. Private cremation will follow. Visiting hours are 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

FRANK W. NEBUS SR., 61, of Rio Rancho, N.M., formerly of KEYPORT
FRANK W. NEBUS SR., 61, of Rio Rancho, N.M., formerly of SAYREVILLE and Keyport, died June 8 at The Heart Institute, Albuquerque. He worked for Jersey Central Power and Light before retiring and moved to New Mexico in 1999. He was recently employed by the Intel Corp.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Bambrick-Nebus; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank Jr. and Carolyn Kim of Rio Rancho; a daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Robert Fayard of North Glen, Colo.; three grandsons, Randy and Sean Nebus and Connor Fayard; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Carol Bambrick of Matawan; a nephew, Rev. John P. Bambrick of Manalapan; a niece, Susan Bambrick-Bly of Jackson; a great-nephew, Matthew Bly; a great-niece, Katie Bly; his best friends, Terry and Barbara Brain of Spotswood; and various other relatives in New Jersey.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held June 14 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Rio Rancho. Cremation was private. Memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Manalapan. French Mortuary, Albuquerque, N.M., was in charge of arrangements.

WILLIAM T. MARASCO SR., 75, of MIDDLETOWN
WILLIAM T. MARASCO SR., 75, of MIDDLETOWN, died yesterday at Holmdel Convalescent Center, Holmdel. He retired as a tool and die maker from Weston Electric, Newark for 46 years, retiring in 1989. He also worked for Harmony Lanes, Middletown for 15 years. He was a member of Middletown Seniors at Croydon Hall, Middletown, and the Keansburg Seniors. Born in Altoona, Pa., he lived in Newark before moving to Middletown 44 years ago.
His wife, Rose Ann Policastro Marasco, died in 1980. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, William T. Jr. and Maryann Marasco of Red Bank; a daughter, Mary Ann Bedell of Middletown; a brother, Joseph Marasco of California; and a granddaughter, Ashley Bedell of Middletown.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A funeral gathering will be held 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with a Funeral Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. ELIZABETH MATOCHE ROCK RAK, 97, of TOMS RIVER, died Tuesday at Holiday Care Center, Toms River. She was employed at General Ceramics, Kearny for many years, retiring in 1963. She was a charter member of Fords/Keasbey Senior Citizens. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Fords. She was an avid gardener who shared plants with friends. Born in Hungary, she lived in Keasbey and Fords most of her life before moving to Toms River 18 years ago.
Her husband, Frank Rak, died in 1964; and a son, Francis Rock, died in 2000. Surviving are a daughter, Marjorie Scidienski of Toms River; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Flynn & Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. Funeral services will be held 9:45 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords. FRANCIS "FRANK" HOGAN, 66, of POINT PLEASANT, died Monday at Brick Hospital. He was a stevedore in Hoboken and Port Newark/Elizabeth for 37 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of International Longshoremen's Association Local 2 and a past member of the Point Pleasant Moose Lodge. He was a communicant of St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant. Born in Hoboken, he lived in Jersey City and Weehawken before moving to Point Pleasant 27 years ago.
He was predeceased by a son, Chester Joseph Hogan. Surviving are his wife, Carol Ann Zimmerman Hogan; a daughter, Kathleen Raimondi of Manchester; two stepsons, David Nagurka of Hollywood, Fla., and Ronald Nagurka of Point Pleasant; three sisters, Mary "Betty" Green of Asbury Park, Joan McNamara of Amherst, Mass., and Margaret Long of Jersey City; and four grandchildren, Shannon, Sean and Kelly Raimondi, and Michael Nagurka.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road at Route 70, Brick. FRANK J. CAPPUCCINO, 82, of TOMS RIVER
FRANK J. CAPPUCCINO, 82, of TOMS RIVER, died Tuesday at home. He owned and operated Cappuccino Hardware -- a family business and Harrison landmark established in the early 1900s -- for 40 years, retiring in 1985. He was a World War II Army veteran and served with the 7th Armored Division in Europe. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4969 of Msgr. Doane Assembly, Harrison. He was a third degree member of Our Lady of Grace Council, Knights of Columbus; past president of the Holy Name Society of St. Anthony's East Newark; past president of the Rotary Club of Harrison; past president of the Harrison-East Newark Businessmen's Association; and past vice president of the Harrison Unico Club. Born in Harrison, he lived in Toms River for the past 11 years.
Surviving are his wife, Josephine Gripaldi Cappuccino; three daughters, Christine Cappuccino, Joyce Wood, and Cynthia Flacks; a brother, Nicholas Cappuccino; and four grandchildren, Justin, James, Lucie and Iain.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Parow Funeral Home, 185 Ridge Road, North Arlington. A funeral will be held at 8:45 a.m. Friday from the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church, East Newark. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

AMOS FLORIO, 60, of Forked River, LACEY
AMOS FLORIO, 60, of Forked River, LACEY, died yesterday at his sister's home. He was employed by E.F. Hutton, New York City, and most recently by the Dover Township Parking Authority, Toms River. He was a communicant of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Forked River. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, from 1959 through 1979. Born in Hackensack, he lived in Teaneck before moving to Forked River in 1979.
His father, Joseph Florio, died in 1941; and his stepfather, Detective 1st Grade Samuel T. Dunn, died in 1979. Surviving are his mother, Emma Edson Florio Dunn of Forked River, Lacey; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Rose Florio of San Antonio, and Samuel and Carole Dunn of Forked River; a sister, Margaret Totten of Forked River; several nieces and nephews, Joseph, Steven, Patricia, Valerie, Peter, Tina, Jeffrey, Michele and Colleen; his goddaughter, Michele; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 Route 9 N., Forked River. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.

HELEN VACONY, AGE 68, RAHWAY
Helen Kump Vacony, 68, of Rahway died Tuesday at Rahway Hospital.
She was born in Rahway and lived there all her life.
She was a graduate of St. Peter's High School, New Brunswick. She was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of St. John the Apostle R.C. Church in Clark.
She was predeceased by her four brothers, Louis, John, William and Harry Kump, and two sisters, Lillian Hutter and Mary Ann Wescott.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, George A. Vacony; three daughters, Barbara Marshall of Rahway, Gayle Vacony and Vicki Martignetti, both of Point Pleasant, and two grandsons, Bryan Marshall and Timothy Wheeler.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home, 275 West Milton Ave., Rahway, followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. John the Apostle R.C. Church in Clark. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Friends may call 7 p.m.-9 p.m. today and 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.

The place of burial has been changed for Anna F. Vigor, 65, of Somerset, formerly of North Brunswick, who died Tuesday. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, instead of Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, following the 9 a.m. Mass at St. John's R.C. Church, Dunellen. HERMAN SCHROEDL, AGE 67, PORT READING
Herman Schroedl, 67, of Port Reading died Friday at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy.
Born in Germany, he lived in Port Reading since 1961. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Port Reading. He was employed as a technical field-service representative for John Dusenbery Co. Inc. in Randolph, for 41 years. He retired in 1998. He was a member of the Port Reading-Sewaren Seniors.
He was predeceased by a late brother, Hubert Schroedl.
Surviving are his wife, Margarette (Russhardt); a son, Richard, and his wife, Claudi Schroedl of Staatsburg, N.Y.; two daughters, Karen, and her husband, Kevin Garrett of Linden, and Lisa Schroedl of Carteret; two grandchildren, and a brother, Xavier Schroedl of Germany.
The Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Ave., Carteret, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday.
