ELIZABETH SULLEN, AGE 86, SOMERSET
Elizabeth "Bessie" Sullen, 86, died Saturday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
She was born in Hardaway, Ala., and lived in New Brunswick from 1964-1996. She moved to Somerset five years ago. She was a nurse's aide for private agencies based in Somerset. She was a member of Mount Carmal First Pentecostal Church in New Brunswick, where she held the title of "church mother" and was president of the church's Missionary Department.
She is survived by eight daughters, Doris Simmons of North Brunswick, Annette Thompson of Somerset, Myrtle Williams of Shorter, Ala., Pearl Frank of Deer Park, N.Y., Mary Pruitt of Detroit, Ethel Taylor of North Brunswick, Odessa Clayton of Franklin Park and Wilma Griffin of Piscataway; two sons, Odell and Wilbert Sullen, both of North Brunswick; 32 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at First Pentecostal Church of America, East 18th Street, Linden. Burial will be at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. Viewing will be from 7-9 tonight only at Anderson Funeral Service, 201 Sandford St., New Brunswick.

Rajauhn F. Anderson, aspiring muscian
PLAINFIELD -- Rajauhn F. "Flip" Anderson, 25, died Sunday (June 17, 2001) at home. Born in Plainfield, he was a lifelong resident. Mr. Anderson was an aspiring muscian. Surviving are his daughter, Addis-Asia Anderson of Plainfield; his parents, Eugenia Cassett of Riverdale, Ga., and Anthony Anderson of Patterson; a sister, Amira Cassett of Riverdale, Ga.; two step-sisters, Sherrill Cassett of Plainfield and Cynthia Cassett of King of Prussia, Pa.; his maternal grandmother, Bertha Lane of Plainfield, paternal grandparents, Clifford and Dorothy Anderson of Plainfield; paternal great-grandmother, Goldie Dantzler of Galveston, Texas; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Rose of Sharon Community Church, 825 W. Seventh St., Plainfield, preceded by visitation at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Rosemount Memorial Park in Elizabeth. Arrangements are by Brown's Funeral Home, Plainfield.

BERNARDINO RIVITUSO, AGE 87, LINDEN
Bernardino Rivituso, 87, died Monday at Union Hospital in Union.
Born in Palermo, Italy, he came to the United States in 1947, settling in Newark. He was a resident of Linden for the past 30 years. Before retiring in 1983, he was employed by Anheuser-Busch in Newark as a stock handler for 40 years and was a member of the Anheuser-Busch Bowling League. He was a member and former captain of the Linden Auxiliary Police, and a member of the Linden Police Athletic League, the Fraternal Order of Police in Florida, the Linden Retired Men's Club, and Knights of Columbus Council 2859 in Linden.
He is survived by his wife, Anna (DeVenuta) Rivituso; two sons, Sam J. Rivituso of Wisconsin and Charles B. Rivituso of Colonia; a brother, Joseph Rivituso of Rochester, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Bernardino C. Rivituso, Raphael Rivituso, John S. Rivituso and Gene V. Rivituso, and six great-grandchildren, Charles B., Danielle, Zane Glen, Paula, Penny and Curtis.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow at Werson Funeral Home, 635 N. Wood Ave., Linden, followed by a 10 a.m. Divine Liturgy at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church in Elizabeth. Interment will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park in Linden. Visiting hours are 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Panahida will be held at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home.

GENEVA MENCHAN, AGE 80, RAHWAY
Geneva Menchan, 80, died Tuesday at Rahway Hospital.
She was born in Proffit, Va., and lived in Avenel before moving to Rahway.
She was employed as a dietitian assistant at Woodbridge Diagnostic Center in Avenel for 10 years before retiring in 1984.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Rahway and served in the Missionary Society and the Inspirational Choir, both at the church. She was also a member of the Rahway Senior Citizens.
She is survived by five sons, Daniel Menchan of Paterson, Fred Menchan of Avenel, Rudy Menchan of Atlanta, Warren Menchan of Fords and Wayne Menchan of Los Angeles; her daughter, Helen Long of Piscataway, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. today at Second Baptist Church, 378 E. Milton Ave., Rahway. Burial will be at Clover Leaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge. Visitation will be from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home, 247 Elm Ave., Rahway.

Andrew J. Toth Jr., Pearl Harbor survivor
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP -- Andrew J. Toth Jr., 86, of Franklin Township, Hunterdon County, died Saturday (May 5, 2001) in the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township.
Born in Perth Amboy, Jan. 12, 1915, son of the late Andrew and Margaret Meglici Toth, he had lived in Franklin Township for more than 75 years.
An accomplished auto mechanic for more than 50 years, he was employed by Ditschman Lincoln-Mercury-Ford, Raritan Township until retiring at the age of 80 in 1995. His advice was widely sought on repairs and restoration of vintage Ford automobiles.
A Pearl Harbor survivor of World War II, he was a sergeant with Battery A, 98th Coast Artillery, U.S. Army serving at Pearl Harbor and other locations in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was awarded the N.J. Distinguished Service Award; the Congressional Pearl Harbor Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with two stars.
An avid hunter, "Sarge" was well-known for his community involvement. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 7866 of Flemington; American Legion Post No. 113 of Frenchtown; N.J. Chapter 2 of Pearl Harbor Survivors; the Quakertown Fire Company and was a founding member of the Quakertown Recreation Club.
Three brothers, John, Louis and George Toth, and a sister, Mary Toth, predeceased him.
Surviving are his wife, Victoria Delikat Toth; a daughter, Patricia Skowronski of Hamilton Square; a son, Paul Toth of Cypress, Calif.; five sisters, Helen Heckman of Riegelsville, Margaret Laubach of Milford, Betty Lippincott of Upper Black Eddy, Pa., Catherine Wilson of Stewartswille, and Theresa Fillebrown of Albany, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
A funeral liturgy will be 10 a.m. Tuesday a St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine St., Flemington. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington. Memorial contributions may be made to Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, Chapter 2, c/o Marion Emmons, 144 Seventh St., Cresskill, NY 07626.

FLORENCE REED, AGE 65, UNION BEACH
Florence Zilberman Morris Reed, 65, of Union Beach died yesterday at her residence.
Born in Roselle Park, she lived in Laurence Harbor before moving to Union Beach 24 years ago.
She was a bakery clerk for A&P in Holmdel for two years. Previously, she worked for 10 years at K-Mart as a sales associate.
She was predeceased by a son, Richard Zilberman, in 1977; and a brother, Robert Gathman, in 1970.
Surviving are her husband, Lewis Reed; three daughters, Dorothy Smith of Dunnellon, Fla., Lillian Lee of Canastota, N.Y., and Debra Ciez of Union Beach; two sons, George and Jay Zilberman of Union Beach; a brother, George Gathman of Old Bridge, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at a time to be announced at the Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. Entombment will be at Forest Green Park Cemetery, Marlboro.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

FLORENCE ZILBERMAN MORRIS REED, 65, of UNION BEACH, died Saturday at home. She was a bakery clerk at A&P Supermarket, Holmdel, for two years. Before that, she was a sales associate at Kmart for 10 years. Born in Roselle Park, she lived in Laurence Harbor before moving to Union Beach 24 years ago.
A son, Richard, died in 1977 and a brother, Robert Gatham, died in 1970. Surviving are her husband, Lewis; two sons, George and Jay, both of Union Beach; three daughters, Dorothy Smith of Dunnellon, Fla., Lillian Lee of Canastota, N.Y. and Debra Ciez of Union Beach; a brother, George Gatham of Old Bridge; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at the funeral home at a time to be announced. Entombment will be at Green Park Cemetery, Marlboro.

CAROLINE B. SMITH, AGE 81, FORMERLY OF MORGAN
Caroline B. Grodeski Smith, 81, died yesterday at the King James Care Center in Chatham.
Born in Scranton, Pa., she formerly resided in Morgan before moving to Chatham three years ago.
She was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in South Amboy, and the Sayreville Senior Citizens Thursday Club.
Her husband, Edward R. Smith, died in 1980.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Frank Hawrusik of Summit, and two grandchildren, Rebecca and Thomas Hawrusik.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Gundrum Service "Home for Funerals," 237 Bordentown Ave., South Amboy, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Burial will be at Christ Church Cemetery in South Amboy.
Visiting will be tomorrow from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
