THELMA M. ROTH, 78, of Forked River, LACEY
THELMA M. ROTH, 78, of Forked River, LACEY, died Thursday at Southern Ocean Center, Stafford. She was a manager banker teller at First Fidelity, Tuckerton. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Tuckerton Chapter. Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, she lived in Manahawkin, Stafford, before moving to Forked River in 1925.
Her husband, John Roth, died in 1984. Surviving are two sisters, Helen Luker of Levittown, Pa., and Violet Simpson of Forked River; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Drive, Manahawkin. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenwood Cedar Run Cemetery, Cedar Run.

WALLACE WILSON, AGE 79, RAHWAY
Wallace LeClaire Wilson, 79, of Rahway died yesterday at Rahway Geriatrics Center.
Born in Elizabeth, he came to Rahway many years ago. He was employed by Purolator Products Inc. in the company's Experimental Paper Laboratory for 39 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1985. An Army veteran of World War II, he served with the 60th Infantry Battalion of the 9th Armored Division in Central Europe and was a recipient of the European-African-Middle Eastern Medal, The Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Wallace was the world's greatest dad and husband. Relatives and friends will miss his kindness and old war stories.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Anne Howard Wilson; three daughters, Janice Hummel and her husband, David, of Colonia, Kathleen Mendez and her husband, Fernando of Perth Amboy, Eileen Lynch and her husband, Terrence, of Orlando, Fla.; a son, William Wilson and his wife, Anna Majewicz of Cranford. He was also loved by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Pettit-Davis Funeral Home, 371 West Milton Ave., Rahway, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Mary's R.C. Church in Rahway. Burial will take place at St. Gertrude's Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Alfred Mingione, founder of S. Plainfield company
SCOTCH PLAINS -- Alfred Mingione, 84, died Thursday (June 21, 2001) at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark. Born in Bayonne, he lived in Plainfield before moving to Scotch Plains in 1959.
Mr. Mingione, a 1935 graduate of Plainfield High School, founded the A & A Co. in South Plainfield in 1944. He was a member and past president of the Plainfield Kiwanis Club, an original founding member of the South Plainfield Chamber of Commerce, a member of the American Welding Society, the American Society of Metals, the Plainfield Maple Leafs and the Rolls Royce Owner's Club of America.
Surviving are his wife, Louise DeFrancesco Mingione; a daughter, Barbara Brunhouse and her husband R. Stewart Brunhouse Jr. of Far Hills; his brother, Armand Mingione of Escondido, Calif.; two grandchildren, Melissa Tracey and Richard Brunhouse; and a great-grandson, Sean Patrick Tracey.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave., Fanwood. Cremation will be private. Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muhlenberg Foundation Diabetes Center, Park and Randolph, Plainfield, NJ 07061; or Heart Hospital of NJ, c/o Beth Care Foundation, 210 Lyons Ave., Newark, NJ 07112.

Harry J. Gaynor III, services Monday
SOUTH PLAINFIELD -- Harry J. Gaynor III, 49, a resident of South Plainfield since 1956, died June 8, 2001 after a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his father, Prof. Harry J. Gaynor Sr., a former mayor of South Plainfield.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Church Chapel in South Plainfield. Interment will be private.

DONALD SMITH, AGE 86, AVENEL
Donald Vance Smith, 86, died Thursday at Rahway Hospital.
Born in Kellettville, Pa., he resided in Oil City, Pa., before moving to Avenel 45 years ago.
He was a foreman with Utilities Line Construction Company in Oil City, Pa. for 30 years until 1975 and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He retired in 1980 from Revlon Inc. in Edison as a security guard.
He served in the Navy for 11 years from 1934-1945, serving aboard the USS Idaho in the Pacific and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 464 of Oil City, Pa.
He is survived by his companion of 12 years, Katharina Tonn; a sister Erma Edwards of Oil City; four brothers, Charles of River Edge, Ted of North Royalton, Ohio, James and Jack, both of Oil City; a sister-in-law, Clare Smith of Oil City, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel St. in Avenel. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

FRANK GORBE, AGE 71, EDISON
Frank B. Gorbe, 71, a longtime resident of Edison, died June 14 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick.
He was a sheet-metal worker at Johns-Manville Corp. in North Brunswick for 33 years. After that, he was a custodian for the Edison Board of Education for eight years before retiring in 1995. He served in the Army during peacetime.
He was a son of the late Frank and Magdeline Gorbe. He was also predeceased by a son, Donald Brian Gorbe, who died in 1981. He is survived by his wife, Grace E. (Dey) Gorbe; a son, Frank W. Gorbe and his wife, Phyllis, of Edison; a daughter, Diane Grace LeClair and her husband, Ronald, of Bridgewater; a brother, Stephen Gorbe of Jamesburg, and four grandchildren, Frank and Donald Gorbe, and Michelle and Nicole LeClair.
The funeral was held under the direction of Boylan Funeral Home, Edison. Burial took place at Dayton Cemetery in Dayton.

GEORGE MYERS SR., AGE 87, EAST BRUNSWICK
George C. Myers Sr., 87, died Wednesday at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge Division.
Born in Jersey City, he resided in East Brunswick for the past 50 years. He was a rewind operator for Kimberly Clark Corp. in Spotswood, retiring in 1976 after 25 years of service.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Post 133 in East Brunswick. He was also a member of the American Legion in New Jersey.
He was an avid New York Yankees fan.
His beloved wife, the former Veronica Mullins, died in 1994. He is survived by two loving sons, George C. Myers Jr. of East Brunswick and Howard A. Myers of Spotswood; a devoted daughter, Carol Goley of Beachwood; a dear sister, Ruth Tyndale of Clearwater, Fla., and two cherished grandsons, Christopher Myers and Christopher Goley.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Eckman Funeral Home, 475 Main St., Spotswood. Burial will be at Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville. Friends and family may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

IRENE SZITAS, AGE 81, MILLTOWN
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick for Irene Jezerniczky Szitas, 81, of Milltown, who died yesterday. Arrangements are under the direction of Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home, 152 N. Main St., Milltown.

JAMES RANDALL, AGE 73, SOUTH AMBOY
James H. Randall, 73, of South Amboy died yesterday at his home.
Born in La Crosse, Wis., he resided in South Amboy for the past 53 years.
He was employed by the state of New Jersey in the Department of Transportation as an assistant crew supervisor before retiring in 1999. Previously, he was employed by Anaconda Corp. in Perth Amboy, and by the Raritan River Railroad in South Amboy.
He served in the Army during peacetime. He was a communicant of St. Mary's R.C. Church in South Amboy.
He was predeceased by his brother, Robert.
Surviving are his wife, Helen M. Stockton Randall; three daughters, Beverly Straffi of Woodbridge, Kathleen Nemeth of South Amboy and Christine Cottrell of Morgan; his sister, Beverly A. Waters of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Jacquelyn and Kimberly Cottrell.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at The Gundrum Service "Home For Funerals," 237 Bordentown Ave., South Amboy, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Mary's R.C. Church in South Amboy. Interment will take place at Christ Church Cemetery in South Amboy. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, 141 Bodman Place, Red Bank, NJ 07701, or the South Amboy First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 328, South Amboy, NJ 08879.
