FRANCIS M. FENTON, 55, of MIDDLETOWN
FRANCIS M. FENTON, 55, of MIDDLETOWN, died Thursday at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, New York City, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a year ago. He was director of intellectual property asset development at Bell Labs/Lucent, Holmdel, retiring recently after 33 years with the company. He held eight patents. He was a member of All Saints Memorial Church, Navesink; member and past president of Middletown Township Education Association; member of ALHFAM-Association of Living History Farms and Agricultural Museums; the Monmouth County Historical Association; and Friends of the Parks. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Middletown since 1973.
He was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Kathleen Conroy Fenton; and a brother, John Fenton. Surviving are his wife, Karen L. Rohlf Fenton; a son, Colin P. Fenton of New York City; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth C. and Christopher L. Grimm of Doylestown, Pa.; a brother, James Fenton of Brooklyn; and two grandsons, Harrison Grimm and Noah Grimm.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at All Saints Memorial Episcopal Church, Navesink. Interment will be in All Saints Episcopal Cemetery, Navesink. Memorial donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering, 1275 York Ave., New York, NY 10021.

GRACE W. STOTHART, a lifelong resident of WEST LONG BRANCH
GRACE W. STOTHART, a lifelong resident of WEST LONG BRANCH, died Tuesday at home. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Long Branch. She was co-founder of the Historical Room at the church; a member of the Sharp Circle, Women's Society of Christian Service Official Board, Stitch and Chatter Ladies Club, and Central NJ Unit W.B.C.C.I. Air Stream Trailers. She was first and foremost a loving wife and a devoted mother to her two children and a devoted sister to her brother and sister whom she raised. She loved sewing and traveling with Tom in their Air Stream trailer throughout the United States and Mexico.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Thomas D. Stothart, in 1995; her parents, Robert and Della Golden Wood; and two brothers, Preston and Robert Wood. Surviving are a son, Thomas D. Stothart of Oceanport; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Marc Woontner of Oceanport; a brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Margaret Wood of Lincroft, Middletown; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Claire Johnson of West Long Branch, and Lois and John Keevil of Oceanport; 16 nieces and nephews; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
There is no visitation. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. July 1 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 565 Broadway, Long Branch, NJ 07760. Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown, is in charge of arrangements.

HELEN L. GARVEY, 76, of MIDDLETOWN
HELEN L. GARVEY, 76, of MIDDLETOWN, died yesterday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, she lived there before moving to Middletown in 1971.
She was predeceased by her father, Patrick Hayes; her mother, Rose Strong; and four brothers, Raymond Hayes, William Hayes, Albert Hayes and Edward Hayes. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Edward Garvey; three sons, Edward Garvey of Marietta, Ga., Kenneth Garvey of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Robert Garvey of Port Monmouth, Middletown; a sister, Marion White of Middletown; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A funeral gathering will be held 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Funeral Liturgy at 9:15 a.m. at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. JAMES A. WHITES, 72, of NEPTUNE
JAMES A. WHITES, 72, of NEPTUNE, died Thursday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was co-owner of Off Broadway Lounge, Long Branch, for 25 years, retiring in 2000. He retired from the Marine Corps after 26 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 1000, Trenton. He was born in Greensboro, N.C.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jesse Whites Sr. and Annie Sellar Whites. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Geneva Davis Whites; a sister, Rosa Whites Blair of Morristown; three brothers, William H. Whites of Greensboro, N.C., Rufus Whites of Morristown, and Charles A. Whites of Neptune; two sisters-in-law, Joan Turner of Neptune, and Linda Shaw Whites of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Bennie F. Blair of Morristown; and many other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. today at Mount Pisgah Baptist Temple, 1301 Lake Ave., Asbury Park. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Entombment will be in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. Jackson Funeral Home, Neptune, is in charge of arrangements.

ANNE APPERMAN, AGE 94, SO. PLAINFIELD
Anne Apperman, 94, of South Plainfield died Thursday at Cedar Oaks Care Center in South Plainfield.
Born in Newark, Miss Apperman had lived in Irvington and then Edison before moving to South Plainfield in 1999. Prior to retirement, she had been a clerk at the Sterling Photo-copy Business in Harrison for 15 years. She had been a member of Hadassah in Essex County.
She was the devoted sister of the late Ida Apperman, the late Jack Apperman and the late Anita Moskowitz; loving aunt of Nina Fertig, Carol Deutsch and Berta Seraita. She is also survived by six grandnieces and grandnephews, and 12 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at B'nai Abraham Memorial Park, Route 22 East in Union. Arrangements are by Bernheim-Apter-Goldsticker Suburban Funeral Chapel, Maplewood.

SARAH EVERLINE FARROW, 80, of LONG BRANCH
SARAH EVERLINE FARROW, 80, of LONG BRANCH, died Wednesday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, after a brief illness. She was employed as a domestic worker for the Lapidus and Kaabe families for many years until she retired because of illness. She attended school in Long Branch and New York City. She was a member of Second Baptist Church for 55 years and a member of the Missionary Society. As a young woman, she met and married Theodore Farrow. Of this union, six children were born. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. She was born in Lynchburg, Va., and lived in Long Branch for more than 64 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore; a son, Walter; and her parents, William and Susie James. Surviving are three sons, Theodore Farrow Jr. of New Haven, Conn., Nathaniel Farrow of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Floyd Farrow of Long Branch; two daughters, Janice Stathum and Madeline Nelson of Long Branch; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Second Baptist Church, Liberty Street, Long Branch. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in White Ridge Cemetery, Eatontown. Cofer Memorial Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements.

LEONARD R. HUFF, 69, of KEANSBURG
LEONARD R. HUFF, 69, of KEANSBURG, died yesterday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was a longshoreman for the Ineternational Longshoremens Association, New York City, for more than 40 years before retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. Born in New York City, he lived in Keansburg for more than 35 years.
Surviving are his wife, Rita Hoban Huff; a stepson, John Martinez of Keansburg; his two stepdaughters, Christine Gallagher of Keansburg, and Linda Stein of Port Washington, N.Y.; two brothers, Jackie Huff of Long Island, N.Y., and Ray Huff of Springfield; a sister, Maureen Huff of New York City; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals, 233 Carr Ave., Keansburg. A funeral service will be offered 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.

MARY L. COLE APPLEGATE HAMPTON, 84, of WALL
MARY L. COLE APPLEGATE HAMPTON, 84, of WALL, died Friday at King James Care Center, Middletown. She was the former co-owner of Havens and Hampton Seafood Market and Restaurant in Belmar. She enjoyed needlework and operated a knit shop in Glendola, Wall, with her late sister, Louise Barton. She was a member of the Chit Chat Club of Glendola. She also enjoyed painting and traveling. Born in Asbury Park, she was a resident of the Shore area her entire life.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Applegate, in 1950, and her second husband, Wilbur Hampton, in 1967. Surviving are two sons, Ross Applegate of Belmar, and Dana Applegate of Howell; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. today at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Central NJ Chapter, 12 Roszel Road, Suite C201, Princeton, NJ 08540. Johnson-McGinley Funeral Home, Route 138, Wall, is in charge of arrangements.

PAULINE QUINZER SHIBLA, 86, of SPRING LAKE HEIGHTS, died Tuesday at home.
She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin, in 1988; a sister, Mildred Quinzer; and a brother, Charles Quinzer. Surviving are two nephews, Derwood of Howell, and Robert K. Shauger of Delaware; three nieces, Vivian White of Florida, Mabel Shauger and Helen Witherspoon, both of Brick; and 24 grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Meehan Funeral Home, 555 Warren Ave., Spring Lake Heights. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Wall United Methodist Cemetery, Spring Lake Heights.

ELIZABETH L. MC ENERNEY, 88, of LAKEWOOD, died yesterday at home. She was a secretary for Field Crest Mills, Manhattan, for 35 years before retiring in 1974. Born in New York, she lived in the Park Chester section of the Bronx before moving to Lakewood in 1974.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Catherine McEnerney of Lynbrook, Long Island, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Cremation will be private. D'Elia Funeral Home, Lakewood, is in charge of arrangements.

LUCY PAGANO ROSELLI, 93, of POINT PLEASANT BEACH
LUCY PAGANO ROSELLI, 93, of POINT PLEASANT BEACH, died yesterday at Claremont Care Center, Point Pleasant. She was a sewing machine operator with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Newark, for 38 years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Point Pleasant Senior Citizens Group. She was a communicant of St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Newark and Irvington before moving to Point Pleasant Beach 25 years ago.
She was predeceased by her husband, Patsy Roselli, in July 1983; five brothers, George, Orlando, Joseph, Anthony and Peter; and a sister, Antoinette Pravata. Surviving are two sons, Emil Roselli of Cranbury, and Patrick Roselli of Henrietta, New York State; two daughters, Theresa Calabrese of Succasunna, and Amelia Autenrieth of Point Pleasant Beach; two brothers, Victor Pagano of Toms River, and Raymond Pagano of Florida; a sister, Cecilia Mauro of Colts Neck; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route 88, Brick. A Funeral Mass will be offered 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martha's Church, Point Pleasant. Interment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant.
