JESSE A. WHITES, 72, of NEPTUNE, died Thursday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was co-owner of Off Broadway Lounge, Long Branch, for 25 years, retiring in 2000. He retired from the Marine Corps after 26 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 1000, Trenton. He was born in Greensboro, N.C.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jesse Whites Sr. and Annie Sellar Whites. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Geneva Davis Whites; a sister, Rosa Whites Blair of Morristown; three brothers, William H. Whites of Greensboro, N.C., Rufus Whites of Morristown, and Charles A. Whites of Neptune; two sisters-in-law, Joan Turner of Neptune, and Linda Shaw Whites of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Bennie F. Blair of Morristown; and many other relatives and friends.
Viewing hours and funeral service were held at Mount Pisgah Baptist Temple, Asbury Park. Entombment was held in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. Jackson Funeral Home, Neptune, was in charge of arrangements.

JOHN "JACK" F. BURTON, 67, of Port Monmouth, MIDDLETOWN
JOHN "JACK" F. BURTON, 67, of Port Monmouth, MIDDLETOWN, died yesterday at home. He was a custodian for the Middletown Board of Education, Middletown, for 19 years, retiring May 1. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, Middletown. He was a member of Middletown Elks Lodge 2179, American Legion Post 338, Leonardo, Middletown, Bayshore Pigeon Club and the Teamsters Union. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Port Monmouth since 1971.
He was predeceased by his father, John F. Burton; his mother, Geniveve Durando; and his step-father, Thomas Crinigan, in 1976. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Grace M. Samuels Burton; three sons, John F. Burton Jr., Thomas P. Burton and James C. Burton, all of Middletown; two daughters, Susan M. Burton, and Kerriann Burton, both of Middletown; four brothers, Robert Burton of Staten Island, Thomas Crinigan of Atlantic Highlands, Kevin Crinigan of Manahawkin, Stafford, and Owen Crinigan of Keansburg; five sisters, Kathleen Nasso and Maryann Cambeis, both of Middletown, Audrey Crinigan of Hazlet, Lois McClelland of Sayreville, and Noreen Wyer of Middletown; four grandchildren, Cassie Ortiz, Caitlin Burton, Thomas Burton Jr., and Alex Ortiz.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Midddletown. A funeral gathering will be held 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary's Church, New Monmouth. Burial will be in the Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Eastern Div., 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury NJ 07702. JOHN J. MAZZACCO SR., 65, of LITTLE SILVER
JOHN J. MAZZACCO SR., 65, of LITTLE SILVER, died Sunday at home. He owned and operated Mazzacco's Pharmacy, Long Branch, and the Long Branch Broadcasting Co., which operated WRLB-FM (107). He was also a sales manager at Aldo Carpets, Carteret, and an industrial arts teacher with the Westfield school system. He served as director of welfare for the City of Long Branch and on the board of trustees of Jersey Shore Bank, Long Branch. He graduated from Long Branch High School in 1954 and Trenton State College, Ewing, in 1959. He was captain of both his high school and college football teams. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. He was also an active member of the Long Branch Rotary Club. Born in Long Branch, he lived in Red Bank before moving to Little Silver in 1963.
His father, Umberto, died in 1960; his mother, Mary Lucia Mazzacco, died in 2000; and a brother, Robert, died in 1983. Surviving are his wife, Susan Hall Mazzacco; three sons and a daughter-in-law, James and Mary of Long Branch, Michael of Red Bank, and John Jr. and his fiancee, Ginger of Sea Bright; a granddaughter, Carolyn Mazzacco; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Church, Long Branch. Entombment will be at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. JOSEPH EMERSON PANDOLFE SR., 58, of Matlacha, Fla., formerly of MANASQUAN, died suddenly on June 6 in Florida. He had a lifelong career in the construction industry, working on various projects around the country. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The Pandolfe and Heyniger families extend their sincere appreciation for all expressions of comfort during this time.
He was predeceased by his father, John T. Pandolfe Sr. Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Gail Heyniger Pandolfe; three sons, Joe Jr. of Hawaii, Steven of Arizona, and Michael of California; a daughter, Paige of Florida; his mother, Jeannette Pandolfe; two brothers, John Jr. and Jeff; two sisters, Jean and Judy; four grandchildren, Dillon, Haley, Maxx and Quinlan; and many other family members.

JOSEPHINE RUGGIERO MORELLA, of OCEAN GROVE, died yesterday at Manor By The Sea, Ocean Grove. Born in Italy, she lived in Nutley before moving to Long Branch in 1988. She lived in Ocean Grove for the past five years.
She was predeceased by her husbands, John Morella and Frank Pignatiello; and a daughter, Sara Ferrucci. Surviving are a daughter, Roslyn M. Auricchio; a son, Anthony Pignatiello; three sisters, Eleanor Shenuski, Virginia Davenport, and Lucy Grit; two brothers, Nick and Peter Ruggiero; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley. A funeral will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Church, Nutley. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair.

LOUIS E. COHEN, 94, of Millhurst, MANALAPAN
LOUIS E. COHEN, 94, of Millhurst, MANALAPAN, died Thursday at Palisades Gardens Assisted Living Facility, New York. He was a hardware manager at Millhurst Mills for 43 years, retiring in 1975. As a young man, he built and serviced radios in New York City. He was a member of Congregation Sons of Israel, Englishtown, for 65 years. He operated Millhurst Radio Service. He was an avid baseball lover and a grand opera aficionado. He was born in the Bronx.
He was predeceased by his wife, Eva, 11 years ago. Surviving are two sons, Jack of Wayside, Ocean Township, and F. David of Westwood; a brother, Irving Cohen of Brooklyn; a sister, Helen Zwickel of Brooklyn; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations should be made to Congregation Sons of Israel, Gordons Corner Road, PO Box 369, Manalapan, NJ 07726 to the cemetery fund.

MICHELE MARIE KELLY, 29, of HAZLET
MICHELE MARIE KELLY, 29, of HAZLET, died Saturday at Hackensack Medical Center. She was a hair stylist at Visage, Red Bank, for seven years. She graduated from Rowan College, Glassboro, with a degree in criminal justice and later studied cosmetology at Monmouth County Vocational School. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, music and art. She had a great love for animals, especially her two dogs, Fred and Harrison, also known as Little Man. She was a spiritual person, a friend to many and a person others could depend on. Born in Red Bank, she lived in Hazlet.
Her father, Michael R. Kelly, died in 1974. Surviving are her mother, Marie Kelly of Hazlet; her mother's fiance, Ed Leszczak of Hazlet; her maternal grandparents, Avis and Raymond Myer Sr. of Port Monmouth, Middletown; an uncle, Raymond G. Meyer of Buffalo; three sisters, Michele Nance of Summit, Deborah Englese of Chatham and Brielle Englese of Toms River; and her stepfather, Patrick Englese of Toms River. She was a special aunt to Sawyer Patton; and was also survived by a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at the funeral home; call (888) 747-0332 for the service time. A memorial service will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sea Bright Municipal Beach. ALBERT E. CLIFTON, 77, a lifelong resident of POINT PLEASANT
ALBERT E. CLIFTON, 77, a lifelong resident of POINT PLEASANT, died Sunday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was employed by the Point Pleasant Borough Department of Public Works for 40 years. He started in 1948 as a laborer, later becoming a mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He helped to build many of the roads and installed many miles of water mains in Point Pleasant. He became superintendent of Public Works in 1960. He retired in 1988, at which time the street on which the Public Works Department is located was renamed Albert E. Clifton Avenue in his honor. He graduated from Ocean Road Elementary School and attended Point Pleasant Beach High School. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Joseph J. Clifton Legion Post 196, Point Pleasant Beach, for 54 years. He was an exempt member of Point Pleasant Borough Fire Company 1, a member and former trustee of Harvey Memorial United Methodist Church, Point Pleasant, and a trustee of White Lawn Cemetery, Point Pleasant. He spent most of his retired years helping others. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. His death is a great loss to family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Claire Roe Clifton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Thomas Wardell of Point Pleasant, Patti and Nicholas Gilman of Bay Head, and Gail and David Barone of Manahawkin, Stafford; and seven grandchildren, Shawn Dowling, and Thomas and Brian Wardell, all of Point Pleasant, Ashley, Arielle and David Barone, all of Manahawkin, and Peter Gilman of Bay Head.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m, Wednesday at Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, 901 Beaver Dam Road, Point Pleasant. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harvey Memorial United Methodist Church, 1120 Arnold Ave., Point Pleasant, or the American Cancer Society, Ocean Unit, 1035 Hooper Ave., Suite 2, Toms River, NJ 08753.

AMELIA E. HERRMANN SMITH, of LAKEWOOD, died Saturday at Arbor Glen Nursing Center, Cedar Grove. She was a member of the Women's Christian Group and the Choristers Group, both at Leisure Village East in Lakewood. Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Woodhaven, N.Y., and Manchester, Conn., before moving to Lakewood 23 years ago.
She was predeceased by her husband, George H. Smith; two sisters, Kate and Pauline; and a brother, George Vogel. Surviving are a daughter, Lillian E. Rockwood; and two grandchildren, Lucas and Jessica Rockwood.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. today in Evergreen Cemetery, Brooklyn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Audobon Society, 700 Broadway, New York, NY 10001. Shook Funeral Home, Cedar Grove, is in charge of arrangements.

CHARLES RAYMOND DEABOLD, 77, of Holiday City South, BERKELEY, died Sunday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was a butcher (meat manager) at A&P Supermarket for 29 years. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving with the rank of private first class. He served 24 months in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations. He received the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4927, Center Reach, Long Island, and Silver Holiday VFW Post 10185, and life member of Holiday City Berkeley First Aid Squad. He was also a member of the Anchor Club. He was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church and a member of its Holy Name Society. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Selden, Long Island, before moving to Holiday City South 17 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen Willis Deabold; a brother-in-law, Michael Willis; a godson, Steven Ganobcik; and several cousins.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Maximilian Church, Toms River. Burial will follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. DAVID MATTHEW ROSKOSKI, 33, a lifelong resident of LAKEWOOD, died Saturday in Seaside Heights. He was the owner of D. Roskoski Construction Co., Lakewood, since 1986. He was a member of American Legion Post 166, Lakewood; Moose Lodge 399, Seaside Heights; and Navy Lakehurst Rod and Gun Club, Lakehurst; and a life member of the Polish Falcons of America.
Surviving are his parents, Matthew and Margaret Roskoski of Lakewood; his fiancee, Kathleen Miller of Jackson; his best friend and brother, Bryce Chidester of Lakewood; an uncle, Walter Roskoski of Nevada; two aunts, Helen Datzuf of Pennsylvania, and Adeline Tabono of Florida; and several cousins.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6250 Route 9, Howell. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
