WILLIAM C. LORENZEN SR., 83, of HOWELL, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, at home. Mr. Lorenzen was born in Bogota and had lived in Teaneck and Howell before retiring in Newfoundland, Pa. He returned to Howell in 2004. Mr. Lorenzen was a site foreman and heavy equipment operator at Brick Wall, Sand & Gravel, Lacey, until his retirement in 1986. Prior to that, along with his father, he owned and operated Lorenzen & Son Sand & Gravel, Teaneck. He was a member of the Zoning Board in Newfoundland, Pa.

He was predeceased by his wife, Claire, earlier this year; a brother, Raymond; and two sisters, Clara and Doris. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Jr. and Ellen Lorenzen of Newfoundland, Pa., and Kurt C. Lorenzen of New Egypt; two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Todd Urness of Howell, and Lisa and Joseph Zmuda of Falmouth, Mass.; and nine grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Lorenzen may be made to either the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 740 Broad St., Shrewsbury, NJ 07702, or to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834, and would be appreciated.

CAROL A. LUCAS, 60, of HOWELL, died Friday, April 20, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Mrs. Lucas was born in Neptune and was a lifelong resident of Howell. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Walter Lucas of Howell; a son, Craig Lucas of Howell; three daughters, Karen Lucas of Neptune, Christine Peslak of Jackson, Jennifer Regan of Howell; and seven grandchildren.

All arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.

ANDREW BERNARD LUNDY, 16, of FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, in Freehold Township. Andrew was born in Neptune and had lived in Howell before moving to Freehold Township. Andrew was an avid guitar player. He was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society. Andrew was a straight A student and received numerous academic achievement awards. Andrew was also a National Merit Scholar. He was a volunteer at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He loved to watch and participate in hockey, football and baseball. Andrew was a junior at Freehold Boro High School and was enrolled in their medical science program as a pre-med student. He also attended the Applegate and Eisenhower Schools, Freehold.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Bernard Harold Lundy. Surviving are his parents, Theodore and Barbara Lundy of Freehold Township; a sister, Brooke Lundy, at college in Hartford, Conn.; two brothers, Jason G. Lundy and David J. Lundy, both at home; his paternal grandmother, Jacqueline Brown of Aventura, Fla.; his maternal grandparents, George and Delores Csaki of Manalapan; his aunt, Janet Van Fossen of Howell; and his cousin, Charles Van Fossen of Howell.

Visiting hours will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 33 Throckmorton St., Freehold. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Andrew may be made to a college fund for his sister and brothers, c/o Robert Egan, 11 Princeton Oval, Freehold, NJ 07728, and would be appreciated.

VIOLA L. MacDOUGALL, 95, of JACKSON, died Thursday, Aug. 17, at home. Mrs. MacDougall was born in Newark and had lived there before moving to Howell and then settling in Jackson in 1980. She was a member of the Jackson United Methodist Church. Mrs. MacDougall was a homemaker.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie; two sons, William and David MacDougall; and a daughter, Nancy Trotta. Surviving are three sons, Robert MacDougall of Florida, Edward MacDougall of Florida, and Gerald MacDougall of Wall; two daughters, Mary Jane Welz of Jackson, and Shirley Reed of Jackson; 31 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8: 30 p.m. Monday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral service at 8: 30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at noon Tuesday in Cedar Lawn, Southard Cemetery, Jackson.

August 20, 2006

SHIRLEY E. MacKENZIE, 69, of HOWELL, died Thursday, Aug. 23 at home. Mrs. MacKenzie was born in Newark and had lived there before moving to Howell. She was a parishioner of St. Veronica Catholic Church, Howell. She was a member of the Toll Collectors Union. Mrs. MacKenzie was a toll collector with the Garden State Parkway Authority for 12 years retiring in 2002.

Surviving are her husband, Douglas MacKenzie of Howell; one son, Donald MacKenzie of Howell; three daughters, Deborah Deane of Lanoka Harbor, Kimberly Leyden of Howell, and Kelly Morrell of Sewell; two sisters, Betty Lou Fenney of Florida, and Joan Van Pamel of Wisconsin; and six grandchildren.

Visiting 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Friends and relatives may gather at 8: 30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal followed by her 9: 30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Veronica Catholic Church, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

ALISON H. PARINELLO MAGGIO, 33, of JACKSON, died Tuesday, April 24, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Alison was born in Edison and had lived in Sayreville and Howell before moving to Jackson in 1996. She was a 1992 graduate of Freehold Township High School and attended Brookdale College. Alison was a past president of the Moms Club, Jackson. She was a former dance instructor throughout the area. Alison worked in the collections department for Cavanaugh's Pest Control, Freehold, for 10 years. Most recently, she worked for Accumed Laboratories, South Amboy.

Surviving are a son, Joseph David Maggio, at home; her mother, Sharon Parinello of Freehold; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Andrea Parinello of Jackson, and Daniel and Renee Parinello of Toms River; her maternal grandmother, Helen Albrizio of Freehold; her paternal grandfather, Anthony Parinello of San Diego; a nephew; and four nieces.

Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph David Maggio Trust, 1 Broad St., Suite 6, Freehold, NJ 07728.

SOPHIE S. MAHTOOK, 82, of FREEHOLD, died Tuesday, July 18, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Mahtook was born in Throop, Pa., and had lived in Dover for 52 years before moving to Freehold nine years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale. Mrs. Mahtook was a graduate of Throop High School, Throop, Pa., Class of 1941.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Hedy Akstulewicz, in September 2000; and a granddaughter, Alyssa Mercadante, in February 1987. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, James Joseph "Joe" Mahtook; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and David Mercadante of Freehold Township; a son-in-law, Walter Akstulewicz of Freehold Township; a brother, Michael Swenton of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Stacy and Shawn Harrison, Dennis Akstulewicz, Nicole and Matthew Mariano, and Leanne Mercadante; and a great-grandson, Connor Joseph Young.

Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Family and friends may gather at 8: 30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal followed by a 9: 30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Chapel, Main Street, Farmingdale, with the Rev. Michael Vona officiating. Interment will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, Wall.

DOROTHY S. MALECKI, 78, of HOWELL, died Saturday, Oct. 28, at her residence. Miss Malecki was born in Brooklyn and was a resident of Howell area for the past 45 years. Dorothy retired in 1985 as a meat packer at the Farmingdale Foodtown store being employed at Foodtown for over 25 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Sophie Malecki. Surviving are her adopted family, Joan and David Ross of Howell, and Jennifer, Heather and Courtney Ross of Howell.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8: 30 p.m. Wednesday at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral service at 8: 30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

TERESA MARINO, 79, of HOWELL, died Friday, Feb. 9, at home. Mrs. Marino was born in Brooklyn and lived there until moving to Howell in 1988. She was a secretary for Citibank, New York City, for 26 years, retiring in 1985. Mrs. Marino was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township. "Her family was her life."

She was predeceased by her husband, Patsy Marino, in 2005; a grandson, Paul Gubitosi, in 2001; two brothers; and four sisters.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Lori Marino of Manalapan, Anthony and Caroline Marino of Weaverville, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Agnes and Guy Gubitosi of Hillsborough; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda, Jacqueline, Kimberly, and Joseph Marino, and Thomas and Christine Gubitosi; and a sister, Hester Masiello of Reading, Pa.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Friends and relatives may gather at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by her 9 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will be in the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Teresa may be made to the Paul Gubitosi Charitable Fund, 5 Joshua Drive, Hillsborough, NJ 08844.

ANTOINETTE "NETTIE" MAROK, 86, of HOWELL, died Thursday, Nov. 2, at home. Mrs. Marok was born in Newark and had lived there most of her life before moving to Toms River and then to Howell two years ago. Mrs. Marok was a parishioner at The Church of St. Veronica, Howell.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1960; and her son, Frank, in 1970. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Walter Przybylski of Howell, and Janice and Donald Watkins of Camden, Del.; a brother, Alfred "Barney" Zarro of Lakewood; three granddaughters, Lisa Truszkowski, Lori Bishop, and Jessica Przybylski; and six great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather at 8: 30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal followed by her Funeral Mass at 9: 30 a.m. at The Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell. Interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
