SARAH E. KROEN, 71, of JACKSON, died Sunday, July 1, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold.
She is survived by five sons; one daughter; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother; and one sister.
Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold, is in charge of the arrangements.

FRANK KRUSHINSKI JR., 76, of HOWELL, died Sunday, Oct. 29, at home. Mr. Krushinski was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. and had lived in the Avenel section of Woodbridge, Red Bank, and Lincroft before settling in Howell in 1990. Mr. Krushinski was a self-employed financial planner. He was a member of the 1st Assembly of God Church, Freehold.
He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Theresa, in April 2006. Surviving are two sons, Frank Krushinski III of Merchantville, and Carl F. Krushinski of Cream Ridge, Upper Freehold Township; a daughter, Elaine Johnson of Brandon, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Megan Becker, Jordan Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Gabriel Johnson, Hannah Krushinski, Wesley Krushinski, and Thomas Krushinski; a brother, Lenard Krushinski of South River; and three sisters, Rosemarie Malkarer of Clinton, Josephine Moretti of Harvey's Lake, Pa., and Helen Walters of Plymouth, Pa.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. JOE L. LaCOSTE, 70, of BRIELLE, died Saturday, July 14, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Joe was born and raised in Los Angeles, Calif., and lived in Wall before moving to Brielle in 2003. He retired from the Manalapan/Englishtown Board of Education in 2006, working for 13 years. Prior to that he worked for over 20 years at the Brockway Glass Company, Freehold, and served as a Union President. Joe's love of horses, at first had him working as a driver and trainer of harness racing horse. Joe was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a parishioner of Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Neptune. He was also a former coach and board member of the Wall Township Soccer Association and a former coach for the St. Rose High School Boys and Girls soccer teams. He enjoyed Monmouth Park and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and beloved papa.
He was predeceased by a brother, Leo LaCoste; and three sisters, Katherine, Lucille, and Leona LaCoste. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Patty LaCoste of Brielle, two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Tim Clayton of Wall and Sarah and Brian Wilton of Lake Como; three grandchildren and one on the way, Caitlin, Timmy, and Hannah; one sister, Mary LaCoste of Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Maryann Cullen of Freehold and Stephanie Floberg of Norway; his mother-in-law, Mary Kruse of Farmingdale; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home at 11: 30 a.m. Tuesday for the Rite of Committal followed by a 12: 30 p.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, 3455 West Bangs Ave., Neptune. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale. EDWARD F. LANG, 89, of FARMINGDALE, died Saturday, May 27, at Deborah Heart & Lung Center, Browns Mills, after undergoing open-heart surgery. Born in Newark, Eddie lived there until moving to Farmingdale in 1932. Mr. Lang was a communicant and usher at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Farmingdale, a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Holy Name Society for over 35 years. He was a charter and life member of Squankum Fire Company Howell District 1 for over 56 years, during which he held every office in the company. He was fire chief in 1970 and 1971 and chief engineer for 50 years. He served on the Board of Fire Commissioners for over 30 years. As a child, Eddie was involved with the 4-H club and received many awards at the 1935 Trenton State Fair. He loved farming and had a vegetable stand at his home. During World War II, he received two deferments because of his defense plant employment, but he chose to downplay his responsibility to experience military action. He got his wish and joined the 9th Infantry Division ground forces in Germany and Austria serving under Gen. George S. Patton's Third Army. He encountered many close calls with German snipers and mortar attacks. He was proud to have served exactly three years, six months and 19 days. He was a member of the Farmingdale VFW 9691 and American Legion Post 178. He retired in 1979 as an assistant supervisor from the Freehold Motor Vehicle inspection station, after 32 years of service. During this time he was involved with the training of new MV employees and taught motor vehicle regulations at the Sea Girt Police Academy.
He was predeceased by his wife, Christina, in 1986. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Judy Lang of Howell; one daughter, Mary Ann Lang of Howell; two brothers, Walter Lang of Livingston, and Joseph Lang of Farmingdale; two sisters, Elizabeth Zappulla of Howell, and Eileen Tilley of Brick; four grandchildren, Stephen Briggs; Ann, Marie and Rose Lang; and one great-grandson, Tyler James Briggs.
Visiting will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold. Family and friends may gather at 8: 30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by a 9: 30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale. Charles A. LaSpata Western Electric retiree, WWII vet, 87 Charles A. LaSpata, 87, of Freehold Township died on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, in the Manor, Freehold. Visiting will be at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at 10 a.m. Entombment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Born in Johnstown, Pa., Mr. LaSpata lived in Colonia before moving to Freehold 12 years ago. He was an electrical inspector at the Western Electric plant in Kearny before retiring in 1982. He was a former parishioner of St. Cecelia Church and a member of the Evergreen Senior Center in Colonia. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. LaSpata was predeceased by his wife, Mary, in 1989, and is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Nunzio and Debbie of Old Bridge, and Louis and Lucretia of Freehold; a daughter and son-in-law, Lucille and Louis Balazs of Miami, Fla.; three brothers, Joe, Nunzio and Frank; four grandchildren, Sabrina, Allison, Gwendolyn and Christopher, and four great-grandchildren.

KARL LEITGEB, 68, of HOWELL, died Tuesday, March 13, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Mr. Leitgeb was born in Adendorf, Hungary, and had lived in Long Branch until moving to Howell six years ago. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Mr. Leitgeb was a mason and also a finisher for Louis & John Dry Wall, Long Branch, retiring in 1998. Most recently, he was a carpenter for Strevens Building Corp., Freehold.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jean, in 1995; and a daughter, Patti, in 1987. He was the loving father of Heather and John Strevens of Howell, Carolyn and Michael Brennan of Zionsville, Ind., Heidi and Tim Fries of Flemington, and Terri Leitgeb and her fiance, Jon Raynack of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and adoring grandfather of John and Harrison Strevens, Caitlin, Alexandria, and Michael Brennan, and Lydia, Evan, and Jeremy Fries. He was also survived by a sister, Susanne Lauber of Germany; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Baistow of Howell.
Visiting hours will be from noon Saturday until his funeral service at 2 p.m. at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. CHARLOTTE F. LEON, 89, of HOWELL, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Geraldine L. Thompson Medical Home, Wall. Mrs. Leon was born in Manhattan and was a resident of Richmondtown, Staten Island, before moving to Howell in 1978. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a volunteer for the Howell Meals on Wheels program and was a lunch aide at Griebling School, Howell. She was a telephone operator for New York Bell, Staten Island, for over 30 years, retiring in 1979.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Vincent Tantillo of Howell; three grandchildren and two grandsons-in-law, Cheryl and Bill England, Michele Tantillo, and Jesse and Dawn Tantillo; five great-grandchildren, Ty and Troy England, Mary Rose and Giana Rose DiGangi and Jesse Tantillo Jr.; and a niece, Marguerite Meldrum of Richmondtown.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday until the funeral service at 8: 30 p.m. at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will be private.

JOAN MARIE LESHICK, 68, of COLTS NECK, died Monday, July 24, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Leshick was born in South Amboy and had lived in Cliffwood before moving to Colts Neck 46 years ago. She was a parishioner and a member of the Christian Women's Club at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colts Neck. She was a member of the Colts Neck Democratic Club and the Colts Neck Historical Society. Mrs. Leshick was a former member of the Colts Neck Ladies Fire Auxiliary. She worked at Delicious Orchards, Colts Neck, for 10 years prior to her retirement.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years, William Leshick of Colts Neck; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and April Leshick of Howell; two daughters, Kimberly Ann Leshick of Howell, and Leah Marie Leshick of Montgomery, Texas; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Patricia and William Johnson of Keyport, and Frances Boyle of Freehold; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. ELLEN LIPPINCOTT, 84, of Sebastian, Fla., formerly of FARMINGDALE, died Friday, March 2, at home. Mrs. Lippincott was born in Germantown, Pa., and had lived in Farmingdale before settling in Sebastian, Fla., in 1997. Mrs. Lippincott retired from McCormick Industries in 1997. She was a veteran of the Women's Army Corps, serving in World War II. Mrs. Lippincott was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Farmingdale.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kermit R. Lippincott. Surviving are two daughters, Geraldine Kubes of Sebastian, Fla., and Linda McKenney of Farmingdale; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service at 3: 30 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale, with a celebration of life gathering to follow at the First United Methodist Church, 8 Main St., Farmingdale. GENEVIEVE "JENNIE" LOPRETE, 74, of FREEHOLD, died Friday, July 21, at home. Mrs. Loprete was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and had lived in Red Bank before settling in Freehold Township in 1966. She was a personnel director for M/A Com Laser Diode Inc., New Brunswick, for 18 years, retiring in 1993.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Martin Loprete; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Michael and Rosemary Loprete of Eaton, Ohio, Christopher Loprete of Sea Bright, Jack and Jean Loprete of Freehold, and Mark and Amy Loprete of Shrewsbury; five grandchildren, Michael Jr., Adam, Alexandra, Jaclyn and Molly; and two sisters, Elizabeth Kopera of Toms River, and Mildred Lyman of Toms River.
A memorial gathering will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8: 30 p.m. Tuesday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. A funeral service will follow at 8: 30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be 11: 30 a.m. Wednesday at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. ALICE J. LORENZ, 85, of HOWELL, formerly of West Brighton, Staten Island, N.Y., died Friday, July 13, at Care One at Jackson. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she was raised and lived in the West Brighton section of Staten Island until she moved to Howell in 1996. Mrs. Lorenz was a parishioner of the Church of St. Veronica, Howell, and a former parishioner of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Brighton, N.Y. She was also a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in WWII. She was a nurse at the Sea View Nursing Home, Staten Island.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond in 1996; and a brother and a sister. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Teresa Lorenz Jr. of Howell; a daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Joseph O'Brien of Howell; three grandchildren, Raymond C. Lorenz III, Christopher P. and Erin O'Brien; and two brothers, George Froehlick of Brick and Jack Froehlick of Arizona.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold.
