Kathleen H. Peterson
Kathleen H. Peterson, "Kate," 90, of Barnegat, died March 17, at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin.
Mrs. Peterson was born in Atlantic City and was formerly of Parkertown, moving to Barnegat in 1929.
Mrs. Peterson was employed as a crossing guard for the Elizabeth Edward's School, Route 9, Barnegat for 38 years retiring in 2002.
She was an exempt member of the Barnegat First Aid Squad and the Barnegat Special Police and a member of the Barnegat United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles H. in 1969, one daughter, Kathryn Martin, in 1994, and one son, Charles A., in 1956.
Surviving are her daughter, Karen Peterson, Barnegat and foster-daughter, Arlene Chris, Pottstown, Pa. Also surviving are five grandchildren, James, Loretta, Louisa, Steve, and Robie; and two great-grandsons Jonathan and James.
A funeral service took place March 21, at Bugbee-Riggs Funerals Home, Barnegat. Interment followed at Barnegat Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Barnegat First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 729, Barnegat NJ 08005, or the Barnegat United Methodist Church, East Bay Avenue and Birdsall Street, Barnegat NJ 08005 in Mrs. Peterson's memory.

Gladys Goings
Gladys Goings, 92, Little Egg Harbor, died Thursday, March 20 at Seacrest Village Nursing and Rehab.
Born in West Farms, N.Y., she resided in the in Bronx and Barnegat, before moving to Little Egg Harbor in 1986.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Goings; and one sister, Dorothy Lopez, Bronx, N.Y.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery, Tuckerton.
Arrangements are by Wood Funeral Home, 134 E. Main St., Tuckerton.

Tony Abate
Tony Abate, 79, Little Egg Harbor, died March 22, at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin.
He was born in Twin Rocks, Pa. and lived in Pine Beach before moving to Little Egg Harbor in 1987.
Mr. Abate was a factory worker for E.R. Squibb, New Brunswick.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran during World War II serving with the 91st Infantry Division.
He was also a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church, New Gretna and VFW Post 316, Tuckerton. He was an avid fisherman and gardner.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Angelo and Frank.
He is survived by his wife, Christine; three sons and two daughters-in-law, John Toohey, Olympia, Wash., Anthony and Lorraine Abate, Pine Beach, and James and Patricia Abate, Little Egg Harbor; four brothers, Sam, Sayreville, Joe, East Millstone, Nick, Edison and Felix, New Brunswick; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was a devoted father and grandfather.
Services took place Monday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, New Gretna. Contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
Wood Funeral Home, 134 E. Main St., Tuckerton was in charge of arrangements.

Josephine Krawiec
Josephine Dubas Krawiec, 77, of Lanoka Harbor, died Friday March 21.
Born in Jessup, Pa., she lived in Wallington before moving to Lanoka Harbor 18 years ago.
Mrs. Krawiec worked in the packaging department at Continental Coffee in Moonachie for 20 years before retiring in 1975. She was a parishioner of Most Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Wallington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley T.; four brothers, Joseph, Albert, John, Stanley Dubas; and two sisters, Edna Yanchek and Bertha Beoriso.
Surviving are two sons, Stanley Jr. of Wallington and Robert of East Rutherford; a daughter, Doreen Kelleman of Barnegat; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Katherine Polack of Olyphant, Pa..
Kamienski Funeral Home, 106 Locust Ave., Wallington, is in charge of arrangements.

Jim McNally
Lawrence "Jim" McNally, 82, Forked River, passed away June 16 at Seacrest Village Nursing Home, Little Egg Harbor. He was a former mayor of
Born in Clementon, he resided in North Camden before moving to Forked River in 1963.
He was the owner of Jim McNally Plumbing & Heating in Forked River.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the US Army 519th Engineers Division.
He served as Lacey's mayor from 1973-1976 and also served as a township committeeman for 10 years. He was a member of the Central Regional School Board.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, May (Callahan); four sons, Lawrence James Jr. of Black Hawk, Col., Dennis P. of Portland, Ore., Gary M. of Little Egg Harbor, and Shawn Brian of Forked River; one brother, George, of Bethel, Pa.; two sisters, Claire Watson of Lindenwold and Millie Cooper of Brandon, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Private memorial services were entrusted to Maxwell Funeral Home, Manahawkin.

Helene R. Singer
Helene R. Singer, 88, Manahawkin, died June 10 at her residence.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y. she lived in Ringwood, moving to Manahawkin in 1987.
She was an elementary school teacher in the Westwood School System for 25 years, retiring in 1987. She graduated from Syracuse University in 1937 with a degree in elementary education.
She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels; at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church; was a senior saint at All Saints School; a member of the Manahawkin Senior Club, and a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Barnegat.
She was predeceased in 1998 by her husband, George.
Surviving are four daughters, Georgia Osborne of Glendale, Ariz., Angela Ominski of Manahawkin, Lauri Harboy of Vernon, and Katie Sullivan of Madison; two sons, William Singer of Topeka, Kan., and Terence Singer of Hershey, Pa.; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass took place June 13, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Barnegat. Cremation was private. Donations may be made to St. Mary's Church Building Fund.

Terence W. DePietro
Terence W. DePietro, 81, of Jensen Beach, Fla., died Sunday June 15, at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin.
Mr. DePietro was born in Woodbury, and formerly of Moorestown. He resided each year between his homes in Haven Beach, Surf City, and Jensen Beach. Fla..
Mr. DePietro was the owner and operator of Terry's Shore Barn of Rancocas Woods, for 33 years he retired in 1986. He was a member of the Long Beach Township Italian American Club, Charter Member of the Marlin Tuna Club, Beach Haven, Ocean Acres Country Club, Martin County Golf Club, B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #2340, Manahawkin, Palm City Moose, Palm City, Fla.. He was a Merchant Marine serving in the World War II. Mr. DePietro was a shoe historian and had a shoe museum that he donated to Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto Canada and he had been a historical footwear consultant for Williamsburg, Va. and an avid car collector of classic cars . Mr. DePietro was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi, Brant Beach.
He was predeceased by his wife Helenjean, in 1985.
Surviving are his son, Terence A., Manhattan, N.Y., one daughter, Suzanne Ring and her husband Jerry, Montclair, his loving companion, with whom he lived, Mildred Benoit; two brothers, James, Marlton, and Vincent, Cape May; two sisters, Eileen Burke, Collingwood, and Dolores McCaffrey, Merchantville; and four grandchildren, Antonio, Eliza, Mackenzie, and Brian.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, Ship Bottom.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. DePietro's memory may be made to St. Francis of Assisi parish, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach.

Thomas D. Henderson
Thomas D. Henderson, 68, Barnegat, passed away June 10, at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin.
Born in Newton, he resided here most of his life.
He was employed by the Prudential Co., in Toms River for 25 years and retired in 1989.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Barnegat High School class of 1952.
He was an excempt member of former Chief of the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Department and served the Barnegat First Aid Squad.
He was a N.J. State Forest Fire Service District Warden and served on the Ocean County Mosquito Commission, a former school board member for the Barnegat Township elementary schools, and a member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife Jackie (Montgomery); his son, Stanley; and his companion, Tony Barber of Bridgeton; his daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Edward Hazelton of Manahawkin; his brothers, Arthur and Bob, both Barnegat, and Jim and sister-in-law, Nancy of Ship Bottom; sister, Lois and brother-in=law, Howard Baum of Harvey Cedars and sister Linda and brother-in-law, Mort Hubbs of Barnegat; two grandchildren, Jason and Sarah Hazelton; and many nieces and nephews.
Services took place at Maxwell funeral Home, Manahawkin.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company.

William V. Johnson Jr.
William V. Johnson Jr., 71, of Parkertown, passed away at his home here on June 14.
Born in Millville, he lived in Staffordville and Parkertown.
He was a retired self employed carpenter and most recently retired from Southern Ocean County Hospital's Environmental Services Department where he was employed for 14 years.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army, serving from 1952-1960.
Mr. Johnson enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Fancy Free Square Dance Club. He was a former member of the Tuckerton Pool League and the Improved Order of the Redman, Pohatcong Tribe 61.
He was a winter resident of Port Orange, Fla..
He was predeceased by his son, William Gary Johnson and his sister Loretta Hitchcock Byrnes.
He is survived by his companion, Jackie, with whom he lived for 29 years; his son, Christopher of Parkertown; his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Ernie Falkinburg of Parkertown; his brother, George of Staffordville; and his sister, Lillian Letts of Manahawkin; six grandchildren, Vicki, Christine, Nichole, William, Michelle, and Rachel; and six great-grandchildren, William, Christopher, Justine, Joshua, Nicholas, and Scott.
Funeral services were held at Maxwell Funeral Home, Little Egg Harbor. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Tuckerton.
