Dorothy G. Quinlan
Dorothy G. Quinlan, 73, of Manahawkin passed away May 30 at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin.
Born in Staten Island N.Y. she resided there and was a summer resident of the Jersey Shore area since 1969. She moved here permanently in 1987 after her retirement as a naturalist for the City of New York where she was employed for 20 years.
Mrs. Quinlan was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Brant Beach, and was a member of the Bell Choir and the church board.
Predeceased by her husband, William J. in 1965 and her daughter Susan in 1991, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Irene of Ruby, N.Y.; her daughter and son-in law, Laura and Mark Teague of Coxsackie, N.Y., and daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and Daniel Lutz of Jackson; her sister and brother-in-law, Ora and Willard Smith of Bellevue, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.
Memorial services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 5800 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach. Burial will be private.
Services were entrusted to Maxwell Funeral Home, Manahawkin.

Mary E. Bramhall
Mary E. Bramhall, 71, of Little Egg Harbor passed away May 30 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills.
Born in New York City, she moved here 12 years ago from Lodi.
Mrs. Bramhall was employed by New York Telephone (NYNEX) for more than 20 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Helen McArdle Garrod and her sister, Joanna.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Thomas V.; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas V. and Linda of Little Egg Harbor; her daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Stephen Koreivo of Standhope; four sisters, June Conrad of New City, N.Y., Carol Mueller of Little Egg Harbor, Connie Cavalli of Orlando, Fla., and Margaret Scarpa of Wayne; and four grandchildren, Brian, Scott, Alexandra and Eric.
Services were held at Maxwell Funeral Home, Little Egg Harbor. Burial was private. Memorial donations may be made to Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin.

John Daniel Lennon
John Daniel Lennon, 85, of Little Egg Harbor passed away May 27 at his home.
Born in New York City, he resided there prior to moving here 38 years ago.
Mr. Lennon was in fellowship with the Living Waters Christian Center here and was employed for 28 years at the New York City Transit Authority, retiring in 1980.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian; his daughter, Barbara Sterner of Baltimore, Md; one grandchild, Stephen Bond of West Creek; and one great-grandchild, Kristen Bond of West Creek.
Private arrangements were entrusted to Maxwell Funeral Home, Little Egg Harbor.

Jennie Canonico
Jennie Canonico, 94, of Manahawkin, passed away May 31, at the Manahawkin Nursing and Rehab Center, Manahawkin.
Born in New York City, she resided in Fairview before moving to Manahawkin three years ago.
Mrs. Canonico was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1963 and two daughters, Antoniette Lizzi of Long Island, N.Y. and Fla., and Marie Lazzaro of Englewood Cliffs and Fla.
She is survived by her son, Dominick of Long Valley; Jeanette Anderson of Cedar Run; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at Maxwell Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly.

Lawrence John Zuccolo
Lawrence "Larry" John Zuccolo, 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31.
He was born in Hoboken, on June 24, 1918.
Lawrence was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a retired teacher and principal of 37 years with the New York City school system, and an active citizen who was cited for his many efforts on behalf of Long Beach Township.
More recently he was a member of the Ti-Amo Italian American Club of New Port Richey, Fla., assisting in the scholarship program.
He will be deeply missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Elizabeth; three sons, Geoffrey, and wife Tina, John, and former spouse Kathy, and Larry, and wife Myra; one brother, Guy, and wife Wally; eight grandchildren, Tracy, Keith, Michael, Katie, Chloe, Declan, Amber and Allison; and one great-granddaughter, Samantha.
Visitation will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday with services to follow at 2 p.m. at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, Brandon, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ti-Amo Scholarship Fund (727) 372-8232.

John F. Boyle Sr.
John F. Boyle Sr., 81, of Norwood died Monday May 2, at Connor Williams Nursing Home.
He was born in Philadelphia on Dec. 9, 1921.
A graduate of West Catholic High School. Class of 1941, he earned a bachelor of science degree from Pennsylvania Military College, and his masters' degree from Villanovia University.
Mr. Boyle was a United States Air Force veteran of World War II, a member of the Knights of Columbus Marian Council, the American Society Testing and Materials, and the American Society of Naval Engineers.
Mr. Boyle was an accomplished Artist and a sports enthusiast.
He is predeceased by his father, Francis P. Boyle and his mother, Rose Mary Brennan.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara E. nee Badgley; one son, John F. Boyle Jr., Ardsley, Pa.; one brother, Frank A. Bolye, Norwood; and three grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Gabriels Church, Norwood, Pa. Calling hours are Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at Cavanagh Family Funeral Homes, Norwood, Pa.. Burial will be in St. Peters Paul Cemetery. Donations to St. Gabriels Church, 233 Mohawk Ave., Norwood, PA 19074.

Margaret T. Potosnak
Margaret T. Potosnak, (Dower), "Honey", 73, of the Dunes section of Long Beach Township, died Tuesday, Sept. 9 at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin.
Mrs. Potosnak was born in Irvington and was formerly of West Caldwell. She was a summer and weekend resident of Beach Haven Gardens from 1968-1992. She moved to the Dunes in 1993.
Mrs. Potosnak was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Brant Beach, and a member and past president of the Long Beach Island Historical Association. She was a member of the Spray Beach Yacht Club and had served as its historian and a past president of the auxiliary. She was currently employed at Long Beach Island Real Estate, Brant Beach, as a salesperson since 1993. She had been previously employed at Keil Real Estate of Beach Haven as a salesperson from 1970-1993.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Charles S.; one son, Steven, of New Gretna; four daughters, Kathleen Potosnak, Seattle, Wash., Leslie Brower, New Gretna, Amy Cain, Yardley, Pa., and Laura Maschal, Beach Haven; and one sister, Jane Bollhorst, Seaside Park. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Sept. 15, at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Brant Beach. Interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery, Manahawkin.

Jeanette McCullough
Jeanette A. McCullough, 91, Tuckerton, died Sept. 8 at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin, after a brief illness.
Born in Absecon, she resided in Atlantic City, moving to Tuckerton in 1952.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tuckerton for more than 50 years. During World War II she was Red Cross volunteer.
She is survived by two sons, Wesley A., of Bayonne and Robert A., Tuckerton; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Burial will be private. Services will be announced at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Tuckerton. Arrangements are by Wood Funeral Home, Tuckerton.

Patricia Garthaus
Patricia Garthaus, 78, of Tuckerton, died Sept. 12 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Langhorne, Pa.
Born in Philadelphia, she was married twice, survived one husband, raised nine children, and has 27 grand-children.
She was a U.S. Navy veteran who went on to be a housewife and mother.
In her later years she worked as a seamstress at Petrillo's in Egg Harbor City, a cafeteria worker at Bass River Elementary School, and for several year she lived and worked at Chip's Folly campground. Her last job was as a babysitting grandmother.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Aldea (Binkey) in 2002.
She is survived by her brother, James of Bensalem, Pa.; five sons, James of New Gretna, Louis of Homosassa, Fla., Paul of New Gretna, John of Egg Harbor Township, Adam of Apple Valley, Calif.; and three daughters, Patricia of New Gretna, Marie of Austin, Texas, and Cathrine of Louisville, Ky. Also surviving are 27 grand-children.
Maxwell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Final arrangements will be private. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1035 Hooper Ave. Suite 2, Toms River, NJ 08753.

Sidney O. Strachan
Sidney O. Strachan, 101, of Manahawkin passed away Sept. 10, at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin.
Born in Tampa, Fla., he resided on Long Beach Island for 36 years, moving to the Fawn Lakes section of Manahawkin three years ago.
Mr. Strachan was an officer with Continental Insurance Company in New York City. He served Long Beach Township as a committeeman for 10 years. His memberships include the Exchange Club of Beach Haven, the Long Beach Island Garden Club and the Senior Citizens Club of Long Beach Island. He was a communicant of St. Francis Assisi Parish in Brant Beach.
Surviving are his wife, Bernadette (Haas); two sons, Dr. Jamie Strachan of Cuba and John R. Strachan of Virginia; one daughter, Consuelo Gomez of New York; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum in Manahawkin.
Services have been entrusted to Maxwell Funeral Home, Manahawkin.
