DOROTHY FAY, AGE 69, ROSELLE
Dorothy Shubeck Fay died yesterday at Rahway Hospital. She was 69.
She was born in Elizabeth and had lived in Roselle for the past 30 years.
She retired in 1970 after 15 years at Converters Inc. in Linden and 25 years as executive secretary for International Printing Inks in Elizabeth. She also worked part time as a secretary for Union County College in Cranford.
She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church and Blessed Sacrament Church, both of Elizabeth.
Surviving are her husband, Robert J.; a brother, Paul Shubeck, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Bannworth Funeral Home, 1055 E. Jersey St., Elizabeth, followed by a 10 a.m. divine liturgy at Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Church. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Clark.
Parastas service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

PAUL DECOLATOR, AGE 36, NO. BRUNSWICK
Paul J. Decolator, 36, of Montclair died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002.
Born in New Brunswick, he lived in North Brunswick and Philadelphia before moving to Montclair seven years ago. He was a gifted freelance writer and published several articles in Icon Magazine and The Aquarian, among others. He was a 1991 graduate of Rutgers University, New Brunswick, where he majored in history and religion. An active member of the New Brunswick music community, he was a founding member of the bands "Pleased Youth" and "Loose." He wrote his first article about the music community when he was 13 years old. Paul also was a patron member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).
He is survived by his parents, Frank and Gloria (Schwebius) Decolator of North Brunswick; his fiancee of 121/2 years, Diana Vilato of Montclair, and his brother, Frank Decolator of New York City.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at The Crabiel Home For Funerals, 170 North Main St. at Riva Avenue, Milltown. Friends and relatives may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Milltown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to WFMU Radio Station 91.1, P.O. Box 2011, Jersey City, NJ 07303.

CAPT. FREDERICK F. JEWETT II, 80, of TOMS RIVER
CAPT. FREDERICK F. JEWETT II, 80, of TOMS RIVER, died Friday, Jan. 24 at home. He retired from the U.S. Navy, and was a combat veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He graduated from Elmira Free Academy in Elmira, N.Y., and joined the Navy's V-5 Program as a naval aviation cadet in August 1942. He attended Navy-sponsored Ground School and Civilian Pilot Training at St. Lawrence University and the Navy's Preflight School at Athens, Ga., until his discharge to enter the United States Naval Academy in June 1943 as a member of the 19th Company. He graduated on June 5, 1946, with the World War II accelerated wartime class of 1947, 16th Company. Tours in the destroyer-minesweeper Rodman, the cruiser Huntington and the destroyer Compton followed.
During the Korean War, he served as a navigator, operations officer and communications officer of the rocker ship USS LSMR-403; and served as an instructor in ordnance and gunnery at the Naval Academy. He also was communications officer and staff navigator for Commander, Cruiser Division SIX while embarked on Battleship New Jersey; and served as executive officer and navigator of destroyer escort Howard D. Crow. That was followed by a two-year assignment at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Calif., where he earned a master of science degree in electrical engineering. In September 1960, he assumed his first command at sea, on the ocean mineseeper Fearless. In December 1962, he was ordered as officer in charge of the Naval Mine Engineering Facility, Yorktown, Va., followed by command of the destroyer Beatty from November 1965 to February 1968.
From March 1968, to June 1969, during the Vietnam War, he first served as a plans officer on the staff of Commander, United States Military Assistant Command, Saigon, Vietnam, then reported for duty as Commander Task Force Clearwater, the operational commander of all Naval forces on the Perfume and Cua Viet Rivers in the two northernmost provinces in south Vietnam with headquarters in Cua Viet. In 1969, he assumed command of the Naval Weapons Station, Seal Beach, Calif., for two years, and then served as staff of Commmander, Operational Test and Evaluation Force, Norfolk. For his final two-year tour in the Navy, he was given command of the Navsurflant Readiness Support Group, Norfolk.
In addition to the Legions of Merit and Combat Action Ribbon, he earned the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, the Korean Service Medal with three engagement stars, the Vietnam Service Medal with five campaign Stars, two Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Medals, two republic of Vietnam unit citations, the Korean War Service Medal and various World War II and other campaign and service Medals.
After retiring, he began a second career at Admiral Farragut Academy, Pine Beach, where first he served as commandant of cadets, then as chairman of the mathematics and science departments and teacher of various mathematic courses. He continued to teach at the academy until its closing in June 1994. He was selected as Teacher of the Year at the academy in 1986 and 1989. He was an eagle scout and one-time scoutmaster and was a life member of the Naval Academy Alumni Association, the Retired Officers Association, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Born in Schenectady, N.Y., he moved to Toms River in 1977.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Barbara Fitzgerald Jewett; three children, Jeffrey of Bowie, Md., Kimberly J. Fiser of Cincinnati, and Brian of Champaign, Ill.; two half brothers, Philip Minos of North Carolina, and Royal Jewett Jr. of Ohio; a half sister, Jenifer Dart of Connecticut; and four grandsons, Dennis and Alan Fiser, and Eric and Gregory Jewett.
A graveside service and full military honors will take place at 3 p.m. Feb. 6 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Van Dyke Hospice. Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River, is in charge of arrangements.

RITA SINTON, 82, of Bridgewater, formerly of TOMS RIVER
RITA SINTON, 82, of Bridgewater, formerly of TOMS RIVER, died Wednesday at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville. She was a housewife. Born in Bayonne, she lived there for many years and in Toms River for 25 years before moving to Bridgewater last year.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edmund. Surviving are one daughter, Joan Sinton Ausmann, and two grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Star of Sea Church, Bayonne. G. Keenen O'Brien Funeral Home, Bayonne, is in charge of arrangements.

SALVATORE A. PELLITTERI, 84, of MIDDLETOWN
SALVATORE A. PELLITTERI, 84, of MIDDLETOWN, died Monday at Holmdel Convalescent Center. He was a quality control inspector at Western Electric, Kearny, for 37 years, retiring in 1978. He also worked at Louis Yanni Barber Shop in Bayonne. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, Middletown. He was a former member of St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Bayonne, where he was a member and treasurer of its Holy Name Society, and served as usher. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Barbers Association. He was former vice president of the Tomaso Plaza Tenants Association in Middletown, where he lived. He and his wife were voted "King and Queen of Tomaso Plaza" several years ago. Born in Bayonne, he lived there before moving to Middletown 21 years ago.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Rose Gallucci Pellitteri; a son, Frank Pellitteri of Bayonne; a daughter, Mary Ann Gurliaccio of Cliffwood Beach, Aberdeen; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Friends and relatives will leave the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. Thursday and proceed to a 9:45 a.m. funeral Liturgy at St. Mary's Church, Middletown. Entombment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

JOHN J. DONELLAN JR., 58, of BRICK
JOHN J. DONELLAN JR., 58, of BRICK, died Monday at home. He was a field engineer for Banctec, based in Dallas, for 30 years. He was a Navy veteran of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a parishioner of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, Brick. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Dumont and in Staten Island before moving to Brick 15 years ago.
He was predeceased by a brother, Michael. Surviving are his wife, Birina Diaz Donellan; two children, Jason and Vanessa, at home; his mother, Ann Latin Donellan of Dumont; and a brother, Thomas of Paramus.
A funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. today at St. Dominic Church, Brick. Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River. Entombment will be in Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Donellan children's college fund.

JOHN JOSEPH CUTAIA, 79, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of AT
JOHN JOSEPH CUTAIA, 79, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, died Friday in Spring Hill, Fla. He was a retired bus driver for the federal government. He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, New Port Richey. Born in Bristol, Conn., he lived in Atlantic Highlands before moving to New Port Richey in 1978.
Surviving are his wife, Eudina J. Ferraro Cutaia; two sons, John Cutaia of Hudson, Fla., and Robert Cutaia of Valrico, Fla.; two brothers, Salvatore Cutaia of Forked River, Lacey, and Dominick Cutaia of Howell; seven sisters, Angie Cutano, Lucy Vacchiano and Mary Shroyer, all of Neptune City, Rose Keers and Sarah Patterson, both of West Long Branch, Clara Thomason of Neptune, and Lillian McCabe of Eatontown; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Francioni, Taylor and Lopez Funeral Home, 1200 10th Ave. at Atkins Avenue, Neptune. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Neptune.

THEODORE NUSSBAUM, 63, of FREEHOLD
THEODORE NUSSBAUM, 63, of FREEHOLD, died yesterday at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was a ceramic engineer with Burroghs Corp. for 10 years. He was an avid photographer. He was a 1954 graduate of Irvington High School. He received his bachelor's degree in engineering in 1958 and his master's degree in 1960, both from Rutgers University. Born in Newark, he lived in New Brunswick, moving to Freehold this year.
Surviving are a son, Edward M. Nussbaum of West Long Branch; a daughter, Beth Wayland of Durham, N.C.; a brother, Stuart Nussbaum of Whiting, Manchester; a sister, Rhoda Nussbaum of Edison; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Beth El Cemetery, Westwood. Flynn and Son Funeral Home, Fords, Woodbridge, is in charge of arrangements.

THOMAS R. MOFFETT, 65, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of RED BANK
THOMAS R. MOFFETT, 65, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of RED BANK, died Oct. 12 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa. He was a supervisor for General Motors, Linden. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Red Bank before moving to Tampa.
He was predeceased by two sons, Thomas R. Jr. and Kevin M. Surviving are his wife, Louise; three sons, Christopher T. of Corning, N.Y., Timothy K. of Wanamassa, Ocean Township, and Sean P. of Burbank, Calif.; two daughters, Valerie L. of West Long Branch, and Melissa M. of Monticello, Ind.; two brothers, Charles of Long Island, N.Y., and John of Southampton, Pa.; two sisters, Anna Mae Gratz of Philadelphia, and Rosemary Crumlish of Woodbury; a granddaughter, Angela M. Moffett of Providence, R.I.; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Nov. 15, in Philadelphia. National Cremation Society, Tampa, is in charge of arrangements.

STANLEY BERINSTEIN, 70, of OCEAN TOWNSHIP
STANLEY BERINSTEIN, 70, of OCEAN TOWNSHIP, died Monday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was an electrical engineer at Fort Monmouth. Born in Albany, N.Y., he lived in Woodbridge and in Perth Amboy before moving to the Shore area in 1979.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Hilda. Surviving are his second wife, Suzanne Meisler Berinstein; two stepsons, Michael and David Levy; and a step-grandchild, Jacob.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in Beth Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the Berinstein residence in Ocean Township. Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Township, is in charge of arrangements.

ANTHONY BATTO, 73, of Cranford, whose daughter lives in ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, died Oct. 17 at Cranford Hall Nursing Home. He was a self-employed furniture refinisher in Elizabeth for 40 years, retiring in 1978. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Born in Newark, he lived in Elizabeth most of his life before moving to Cranford last year.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn Gill of Somerdale, Alliene Matonti of Atlantic Highlands, and Nina Batto of Lottsburg, Va.; two brothers, John and Salvadore Batto, both of Elizabeth; a sister, Rose Batto; and eight grandchildren.
A chapel service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Funeral Service of New Jersey, Hillside, is in charge of arrangements.

HERMAN O. MISKA, 87, of the Original Leisure Village, LAKEWOOD
HERMAN O. MISKA, 87, of the Original Leisure Village, LAKEWOOD, died Monday at Fountain View Care Center, Lakewood. He was a merchandising agent at Abbott Dairies, Newark, for 27 years, retiring 22 years ago. He was a life member of Deborah Hospital Volunteers, Browns Mills, Pemberton. Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Mountainside and in Irvington before moving to Lakewood.
His wife, Celestine Messinger Miska, died in 1985. Surviving are two grandchildren, Rhett Campion and Renee Schneider; and three great-grandchildren.
There will be no services. Cremation will be private. Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, Brick, is in charge of arrangements.
