ELEANOR M. ROSENBERG, 73, of BRICK, died yesterday at home. She was a clerk at Motor Vehicle Office, Silverton, Toms River, for 12 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of Friday Good Times Bowling League, Lakewood. Born in Raritan, she lived in North Plainfield before moving to Brick 17 years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Wayne, Brick, and Joseph, New York; a daughter, Karen Haines, Brick; two sisters, Lena Yorlano and Rose Crescenzi, both of Brick; and two grandchildren, Steven and Kelly Haines.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Silverton Memorial Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are asked to arrive at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
RUTH S. POINSETT FIRTH, 82, of FREEHOLD
RUTH S. POINSETT FIRTH, 82, of FREEHOLD, died Friday at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was a retired elementary school teacher, reading specialist and learning disability teacher consultant. She had taught in the Columbus, Phillipsburg, Upper Freehold Township and Freehold Township school systems. She was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School and Trenton State Teachers College. She was an active member of the Allentown United Methodist Church and many of its committees and organizations for more than 40 years. She was past president of the UMW, a former member of the Allentown Public Library Association, a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma professional organization for women in education, a volunteer at CentraState Medical Center. She enjoyed to travel, read and play bridge. Born in Phillipsburg, she lived in the Freehold area for 29 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon G. Surviving are her husband of 27 years, Eli S. Firth; two sons and their wives, David N. and Georgia N. Poinsett, Allentown, and Richard G. and Linda I. Poinsett, Hampton, Va.; one stepson, Jeffrey E., New York; one stepdaughter, Leslie M., New York; one sister, Carolyn Jones, Phillipsburg; and five granddaughters, Jennifer L. Poinsett-Smith, Jessica A. Mladenoff, Stephanie L. Davis, Allison C. Poinsett and Melissa Ruth Poinsett.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Allentown United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Merton Steelman officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Education Scholarship Fund of Allentown United Methodist Church, 23 Church St., Allentown, NJ 08501. BEVERLEY JANE SMITH RYSTEPHANUK, 55, of Russell, Ontario, formerly of AVON
BEVERLEY JANE SMITH RYSTEPHANUK, 55, of Russell, Ontario, formerly of AVON, died Wednesday. She was a very active resident in the village of Russell, Ontario, always looking to lend a helping hand.
She was predeceased by her mother, Rose "Babe" Smith. Surviving are her husband, Edward "Rusty"; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Cindy, Brick; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Alex Giese, Minneapolis, Minn.; her father, John G. Smith; two brothers, Gary and Jay Smith; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A celebration of her life was held 11 a.m. Monday at Russell United Church, Russell, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, Ottawa, Canada, was in charge of arrangements.
EUGENE M. STEADY, 89, of TOMS RIVER
EUGENE M. STEADY, 89, of TOMS RIVER, died on Friday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was a boiler operator at Fort Drum, New York, for many years. He was a member St. Catharine Roman Catholic, Seaside Park. Born in Newark, he lived in Hazlet and then Waretown, N.Y., for 23 years before moving to Toms River six years ago.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Denny Steady, who died in 1985 and a daughter, Mary Steady, in 1982. Surviving are a son, Gene, Toms River; three sisters, Catherine Wujack, Whiting, Edith Costleigh, Florence, Ore., and Doretta Keller, Morris Plains; and a granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 809 Central Ave., Seaside Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catharine Roman Catholic Church, Seaside Park. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Waretown, N.Y.
HENRY W. EBELING JR., 72, of the Lake Ridge section of DOVER TOWNSHIP
HENRY W. EBELING JR., 72, of the Lake Ridge section of DOVER TOWNSHIP, died Friday at home. He was a supervisor at New Jersey Bell, Rochelle Park, for 38 years, retiring in 1985. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was president of the Rotary Club, Rochelle Park, and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He attended St. Mary's of the Lake, Lakewood. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Manahawkin before moving to Lake Ridge in 1996.
He was predeceased by two sons, Michael, in 1985, and Frederick, in 1990. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Geraldine Anderauer Ebeling; one son, Kurt W., Ambler, Pa.; one daughter, Mary E. Miller, North Granby, Conn.; one brother, Kenneth, Toms River; and three grandchildren, Gregory, David and Stephen.
Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Homes, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Lakehurst. A Mass will be offered at 10:45 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church, Lakewood. Cremation will be private.
LOUIS M. D'ANNA, 73, of HOLMDEL
LOUIS M. D'ANNA, 73, of HOLMDEL, died yesterday at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was co-owner and operator of Dom's Deli, Holmdel, for 19 years. He was the prior owner and operator of Speed Clean Laundry, Hazlet, for eight years. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, and a member of Vince Lombardi K of C 6552, Leonardo. Born in Jersey City, he lived in New Monmouth for 38 years, moving to Holmdel in 1994.
He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Mary "Sis" M. Wyman D'Anna, in 1991. Surviving are one son, James, Howell; his parents, Bartholomew D'Anna and Raffalla DeMatino; one brother, Guy, Ridgefield; two sisters, Camille Campana, Clark, and Mary DelGiudice, Texas; two grandsons, Collin and Brendan, Howell; a special friend, Eileen McCabe, Matawan; and two cousins, James Dunne, Holmdel, and Frank Spinello, Jersey City.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. WILLIAM T. WHITEHEAD, 90, of RED BANK
WILLIAM T. WHITEHEAD, 90, of RED BANK, died Tuesday at The Navesink House, Red Bank. He was an electronic data processing supervisor for Congoleum Industries, Inc., Kearny, for more than 39 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of Copestone-Ophir Lodge 159 Free and Accepted Masons and Liberty Chapter 88 Order of Eastern Star, both in Kearny; member of Past Matrons and Past Patrons Association of the Order of the Eastern Star; and member of the 195 Club of Congoleum Industries. He was a former district deputy to the OES Home and former president of Ocean Grove Homeowners Association. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Born in Harrison, he lived in Kearny for 40 years, North Arlington for 24 years, and Ocean Grove for more than 24 years before moving to Red Bank three years ago.
His wife, Florence, died in 1995. Surviving are a nephew and a niece.
A private graveside ceremony will be held Nov. 29 at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny. There will be no calling hours. Ocean Grove Memorial Home, 118 Main Ave., Ocean Grove, is in charge of arrangements. MARY JOSEPHINE ANNECAUTERUCCI, 74, of TOMS RIVER, died Friday at home. She was a graduate of Our Lady Queen of Peace High School and of Trinity College, Washington. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Toms River. Born in North Arlington, she lived in Westfield for 37 years before moving to Toms River three years ago.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Vincent; seven sons, James, Wharton, Frank, Bedford, N.H., Peter, Tampa, Fla., Richard, Little Silver, Vincent, Palm Harbor, Fla., John, Tampa, Fla., and Michael, Edison; four daughters, Annamarie McCarthy, Toms River, Judith Prior, Auburn, Ala., Delores Talvy, Tampa, Fla., and Mary Godfrey, Cape Elizabeth, Maine; one brother, Aldo Del Turco, East Hanover; one sister, Irene Morrison, Saluda, N.C.; and 14 grandchildren.

JOHN BUONOCORE, 90, of Whiting, MANCHESTER
JOHN BUONOCORE, 90, of Whiting, MANCHESTER, died Thursday at Green Acres Nursing Home, Toms River. He was a postal worker with the U.S. Postal Service, New York, for years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Old Guard of Pine Ridge and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8745, Whiting. Born in New York, he lived in Brooklyn before moving to Whiting.
He was predeceased by his wife, Johanna. Surviving are his sister, Silvia Cacecci, New York, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting. A blessing will be offered at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Whiting Memorial Park, Whiting.
KARL J. BJORLAND, 76, of BRICK
KARL J. BJORLAND, 76, of BRICK, died Friday at Laurelton Village, Brick. He was a fisherman and worked doing dredging in the Staten Island area. Before that, he was a self-employed farmer, owning Bjorland Farm in Norway prior to coming to the United States. Born in Narbo, Norway, he moved to Brooklyn in 1961 and also lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Brick 16 years ago.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Anna M. Tonnesen Bjorland; one son, John, Bergen, Norway; two daughters, Linda Solli, Hauge i Dalane, Norway, and Solvi Bjorland, Sandes, Norway; three stepsons, Ernest Reigstad, Sparta, John Johansen, Pemberton, and Frederick Johansen, Brick; two stepdaughters, Linda King, Toms River, and Ruth Deutschlander, Point Pleasant; one brother, Hans, Norway; 17 grandchildren;and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private. DeGraff Lakehurst Funeral Home, Lakehurst, is in charge of arrangements.

MARIAN L. DUNYAK BILLICH, 73, of Temple, Texas, formerly of MIDDLETOWN, died Friday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was self-employed secretary for several years before her retirement in 1994. She was a communicant of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Temple. Born in Perth Amboy, she lived in Middletown for 40 years before moving to Temple 13 years ago.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Luis Veles, Belford, Middletown; one brother, Michael Dunyak, Hemperson, Nev.; two sisters, Rose Switalski, Edison, and Dorothy Bennett, Fairbanks, Alaska; and one grandson, Michael Velez.

JAMES V. MULREED, 65, of South Orange, whose sister lives in OCEAN TOWNSHIP, died Thursday at home. He was a stationary engineer for Mutual Benefit Life Insurance, Newark, for more than 15 years. He was an active member of Operating Engineers Local 68, West Caldwell, for the past 22 years. He was active in Knights of Columbus Council 1831, South Orange, and served as past grand knight. He was a member of Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1154, South Orange, a member and past president of the Giblin Association, Newark, a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church choir, South Orange. He served on the committee at the Garden Art Center Irish Festival and the Newark St. Patrick's Day Parade for many years. He served in the Navy from 1953 to 1955. He was a 1951 graduate of St. Benedict's Prep, Newark, and a 1953 graduate of Seton Hall University, South Orange. Born in Newark, he lived in South Orange for many years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Fleming Mulree. Surviving are three sons, Thomas P. of Branchburg, James P. of Livingston and Kenneth S. of Lake Hiawatha, Parsippany-Troy Hills; four daughters, Donna J. Ryan of Greenwich, N.Y., Theresa M. Dagney of Stan Hope, Carolyn M. of Summit, and Kerri P. of South Orange; two sisters, Maureen Brown of Kearny and Kathleen Meyers of Ocean Township; and seven grandchildren.

WALTER T. NAWROCKI, 79, of Crestwood Village VI, Whiting, MANCHESTER, died yesterday at Vencor Hospital, Philadelphia. He was an office manager for Florida Texas Freight, Secaucus, for seven years, retiring in 1985. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Safety Patrol and the Residents Club of Village VI, and the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of the Pines Council, Whiting. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, Whiting, and a member of its Holy Name Society and pastoral care, and also served as usher. He attended the Traffic Academy of New York for two years. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Lyndhurst before moving to Whiting in 1985.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Estelle Burchala Nawrocki; three sisters, Dorothy Junny of Paramus, Genevieve Blaskewicz of Clifton, and Helen Nawrocki of Jersey City; several nieces and nephews; three grandnieces; and a grandnephew.

FRANCES ANNA MULLEN SANKO, 87, of Ocklawaha, Fla., formerly of BRICK, died Thursday at home. She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Born in Piermont, N.Y., she lived in Brick before moving to Ocklawaha in 1992.
She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, John E. Mullen Sr.; and her husband of 15 years, George Sanko. She was also prede-ceased by a son, John E. Mullen Jr.; and a grandson, Gary Mabie. Surviving are a daughter, Theresa Spinning of Ocklawaha; two sisters, Ann Maillerie of Middletown, N.Y., and Bernice Eagen of Fairfield; 12 grand-children; 28 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
