Dorothy M. Welch died yesterday at home. She was 75.
She was born in the Hibernia section of Rockaway and lived in Newark before moving to Linden 11 years ago.
She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Robert L., died in 1991.
She is survived by two daughters, Dottie L. Markowski of Linden and Gloria J. Ferro of Hillside; a son, Francis A. Williams of North Brunswick; a stepdaughter, Josephine Rodgers of Millville; two stepsons, Lewis Welch of Florida and Raymond Foster of Elizabeth; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 8:30 a.m. Friday from Werson Funeral Home, 635 N. Wood Ave., Linden, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass at Christ The King R.C. Church, Hillside. Burial will be in Rosedale Memorial Park, Linden.
Memorial donations may be made to Rahway Hospital Hospice, 865 Stone St., Rahway, NJ 07065.

JOSEPH S. WESLEY, AGE 85, LINDEN
Joseph S. Wesley died Friday at home. He was 85.
He was born in Southbridge, Mass., and had lived in Linden for the past 43 years.
He retired in 1979 after many years as a shipping clerk for Welding Rental & Repair, Newark.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, the former Frances Cascio; two sons, John of Jackson and Joseph Jr. of Linden; and two granddaughters.
Services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East St. Georges Ave., Linden. Burial will be held at New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery in the Arnytown section of North Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the National Shrine of St. Dymphna in Massillon, Ohio, and will be accepted at the funeral home.

SYLVIA I. BAKKER, 77, of Whiting, MANCHESTER, died yesterday at Palm Garden Nursing Home, Sun City Center, Fla. She was a secretary to the plant manager of Ford Motor Company, Mahwah, for 25 years, retiring in 1980. Born in Midland Park, she lived in Wyckoff and Hawthorne before moving to Whiting 17 years ago. She also maintained residence in Sun City Center, Fla.
His sister, Wilsie, died in 1987. A brother, Arthur, died in 1997. Surviving are two sisters, Beatrice Schuit, Quarryville, Pa., and Amelia B. Schuit, Wyckoff; four brothers, Jacob Bakker, Midland Park, Wilbert Bakker, Sun City Center, Fla., Peter Bakker, Bremerton, Wash., and Daniel Bakker, Lodi, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
MARY CORTINA BALDANZA, 94, of LONG BRANCH
MARY CORTINA BALDANZA, 94, of LONG BRANCH, died yesterday at home, surrounded by her family. Her greatest job in life was raising her children and grandchildren. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was a past member of Holy Trinity Altar Rosary Society and of Long Branch Seniors, where she served as president 1973-1975. She also volunteered at the hospital auxiliary. Born in Cortina, Sicily, she had lived in Passaic before coming to Long Branch in 1923 to work with her husbandin Baldanza's Bakery.
Her husband, Joseph V. Baldanza, died in 1967. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Vincent and Elizabeth Baldanza, Bridgewater, and Salvatore Baldanza, Beachwood; two daughters and sons-in-law, Grace and John Murphy, Long Branch; Jolene and E. Albert Nilson, Long Branch;nine grandchildren, Patti Walker, Marie Murphy, Laurie Beth and Eric Nilson, and Joseph, Suzanne, Andrew, Karen and Sal Baldanza; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Relatives and friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. A funeral will be 8:30 a.m Thursday at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be 9:30 am at Holy Trinity Church. Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery, West Long Branch. BERNARD R. BARRETT, 86, of LONG BRANCH, died Sunday. He was a chemical engineer for the U.S. Signal Corps, Red Bank, for 22 years, retiring in 1963. He was a 1943 graduate of the Cooper Union. He was born in Staten Island.
He was predeceased by his wife, Evrigle Petrakis Barrett. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Evryhlia and John E. Abodeely, Hyannis, Mass.; and three grandchildren, Cassandra, Julie and John M. Abodeely.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Orthodox Mission, Main Street, Cotuit, Mass. Burial will follow in New Jersey. She was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church, Berkeley. Born in Brooklyn, she lived there before moving to Holiday City Carefree 12 years ago.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, William "Bill" Basso; a daughter and son-in-law, Ines and Stanley Glick, Dix Hills, N.Y.; a sister, Rose Griesi, Toms River; a grandchild, Maxwell; and nieces and nephews.

CATHERINE L. BELLO, of Holiday City West, BERKELEY, died Sunday at home. She was a head disability claims examiner at Hartford Insurance Co., New York City, for 25 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of Holiday City West Women's Club, Bocci Club, Shuffle Board Club, Stettlers Club Bowling League, and Tuesday Line Dancing Club. She was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church, Berkeley. Born in Jersey City, she lived there before moving to Holiday City West 17 years ago.
Her husband, Andrew Bello, died in 1995, and her son, Stephen Bello, in 1955. Surviving are a son, Drew Bello, Blairstown; two sisters, Marie Kossman, Berkeley, and Lorraine Chiusolo, Jersey City; and a brother, Harold Ciser, Berkeley.

JAMES W. CALLAN, 53, of Seymour, Tenn., formerly of LACEY, died Friday at home. He was a self-employed surveyor in Tennessee. Born in Staten Island, he lived in Lacey for many years before moving to Seymour several years ago.
Surviving are a son, James W. Jr. of Tennessee; a daughter, Valerie Callan-Schmidt of Pine Beach; three stepchildren, Tammy Shipley and Kathleen Dawkins of Tennessee, and Malcolm Dawkins of Plumsted; a brother, Patrick Callan of Texas; a sister, Kathleen Conte of Germany; and a grandson.
Private services were held in Tennessee. Riggs Funeral Home, Lacey, is in charge of local arrangements.

RICHARD B. CARMEAN, 66, formerly of Ocean Township, now of POINT PLEASANT, died Saturday at home. He spent many years working with electrical wiring/computer boards for Electronic Associates Inc., West Long Branch. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1956 to 1958. Born in Chester, Pa., he lived in Oakhurst, Ocean Township, most of his life before moving to Point Pleasant a week ago.
Surviving are two daughters, Teresa Carmean, Bronx, N.Y., and Catherine Burke, Point Pleasant; a brother, Charles Griffitts, Oakhurst, Ocean Township; a sister, Louise Palmiere,f Long Branch; and four grandchildren.
A chapel service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Brig Gen. William C Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. DeGraff Lakehurst Funeral Home, Lakehurst, is in charge of arrangements.

ROBERT CICCONE, 81, of LONG BRANCH, died yesterday at Avante Nursing Home, Red Bank. He retired in 1979 after many years as the superintendent of Riverview Towers, Red Bank. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in Okinawa. Born in Dumont, he lived in Red Bank before moving to Long Branch in 1979.
His daughter, Joan Kearney, died in 1966. Surviving are a son, Robert Ciccone, Long Branch, and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell St., Long Branch. A funeral service and interment service will be held privately for the family.

Her husband, Amos P. Covert Sr., died in 1970. She was predeceased by two daughters, Marie Zelyk and Betty Armstrong; a sister, Marie Pierce; and a brother, Russell Fary. Surviving are two sons, Amos P. Covert Jr. of Holiday, Fla., and William Covert of Sayreville; two daughters, Anabelle Souder of Mays Landing, and Anna M. Schardt of Holmdel; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She was a retired clerical worker for the Educational Testing Services, Princeton. Born in Monmouth Junction, she lived in Kingston most of her life before moving to Monroe Village six years ago.
Her husband, Harold G. Davall, died in 1990. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, C. William and Barbara Davall, Kingston, and Barry B. and Sandra Davall, Fair Haven; four grandchildren, Charles Davall Jr., Hamilton, Donna Thall, Kingston, Karin Warner, Franklin, Mass., and Jeffrey Davall, Alexandria, Va.; and four great-grandchildren.
