AMANDA SPAHN, 18, of LAKEWOOD, died Sunday of injuries from a car accident. She was a paralegal student at Ocean County College, Toms River. She graduated this year from Lakewood High School. Born in Secaucus, she moved to Lakewood four years ago.
Surviving are her mother, Susan Spahn; two brothers, Michael Spahn and David Swierzynski; a sister, Christine Spahn; and her aunt, Jacqueline Canella.
Lakewood Funeral Home, Howell, is in charge of arrangements.

VLADIMIR RUBENCHIK, 66, of Crestwood Village, Whiting, MANCHESTER
VLADIMIR RUBENCHIK, 66, of Crestwood Village, Whiting, MANCHESTER, died yesterday at home. He was a mechanical engineer at Lakehurst Naval Air Engineering Station. He was a member of Community Reformed Church, Whiting. Born in Minsk, Belarus, he came to the United States in 1980, living in Seaside Heights before moving to Whiting in 1998.
Surviving are a son, Rodion Rubenchik of Whiting; and a sister, Mira Nikrtina of Moscow.
Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 66 Lacey Road, Whiting, is in charge of arrangements.

AUGUSTUS "GUS" BROWN, 86, of WEST LONG BRANCH
AUGUSTUS "GUS" BROWN, 86, of WEST LONG BRANCH, died Monday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was the owner of Gus Brown Decorating, West Long Branch, for 37 years, retiring 16 years ago. He also owned the Colonial Gift Shop, Long Branch. He was a member of Atlantic Engine and Truck Co. 2, Long Branch, for 59 years, serving as a cap-tain in 1947 and as secretary for many years. He was also given an award of outstanding public ser-vice in 1987 for 50 years as a volun-teer fireman. He and his band played in many nightclubs in the Shore area. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Long Branch. Born in Long Branch, he lived in West Long Branch for 65 years.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Myrtle Williamson Brown; and a son, William Robert Brown of Lyn-donville, Vt.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Flock Funeral Home, 243 Broadway, Long Branch. Funeral service will be Friday at the funeral home at a time to be an-nounced. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, West Long Branch.

HELEN ESPOSITO, 69, of LAKEWOOD
HELEN ESPOSITO, 69, of LAKEWOOD. died Monday at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Brooklyn, she moved to Lakewood 27 years ago.
Surviving are a son, Jimmy Esposito of Lakewood; a sister, Kathy Cicalo of Staten Island; and two grandchildren, Rhianna and Azaria Trinka of Lakewood.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Lakewood Funeral Home, 6250 Route 9, Howell. A graveside service will be held at noon Friday at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to On a High Mountain Ministry, P.O. Box 74, Bradley Beach, NJ 07720.

DR. FRANCIS L. BOYLE, 89, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, whose children live in MONMOUTH COUNTY
DR. FRANCIS L. BOYLE, 89, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, whose children live in MONMOUTH COUNTY, died yesterday at Bayonne Hospital. He was an orthopedic sur-geon in private practice in Bay-onne. He was a Hudson County medical examiner and Bayonne po-lice surgeon. He was recog-nized for his work in the fatal plunge of a commuter train off a railroad bridge in Bay-onne in 1958. He was a member and chairman of the board of directors of the Bayonne Visiting Nurse Associ-ation for 25 years. He served as lieu-tenant commander in the Navy from 1942 to 1946. He served at Pensacola and Norfolk Naval Air Stations. He was a 1925 graduate of St. Mary's School, Bayonne, a 1929 graduate of St. Peter's Prep, Jersey City, a 1933 graduate of Marquette University, Milwaukee, and a 1937 gradu-ate of Marquette Medical School. He did his internship at Bayonne Hos-pital, and his resident in orthopedic surgery at Jersey City Medical Cen-ter, the Navy Medical Corps, and Bayonne and St. Francis Hospitals.
Surviving are his wife, Harriett; three sons, Brian, Gregory and John Boyle; a daughter, Barbara Linn of Wall; a sister, Mary R. Boyle; nine grandchildren; and two great-grand-children.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Levis Funeral Home, Bayonne. A Mass will be offered 10:15 a.m. Friday at St. Henry's Ro-man Catholic Church, Bayonne. Do-nations may be made to the Bayonne Visiting Nurse Association, 325 Broadway, Bayonne, NJ 07002.

ROBERT E. CYRUS, 85, of Pittsburgh, whose son formerly lived in ASBURY PARK
ROBERT E. CYRUS, 85, of Pittsburgh, whose son formerly lived in ASBURY PARK, died Sept. 26. He was a retired employee of Harbison-Walker Refactoires. He was a longtime member of Clark Memorial Baptist Church, Pittsburgh.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Edna E. Cyrus; two sons, Charles A. Cyrus of Tallahassee, Fla., formerly of Asbury Park, and Robert O. Cyrus of Pittsburgh; three daughters, Celestine C. Sloan, Robee Dolores Walker, and Judith Adams, all of Pittsburgh; 34 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sept. 30 under the direction of Tunie Funeral Home, Homestead, Pa.

RICHARD G. ABRAMSON, 49, of Woodbine, formerly of MARLBORO
RICHARD G. ABRAMSON, 49, of Woodbine, formerly of MARLBORO, died Monday at Newcomb Medical Center, Vineland. Born in Atlantic City, he also lived in Marlboro and Cumberland County.
Surviving are a brother, Stanley Abramson of Maryland; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at noon today at the Woodbine Broth-erhood Cemetery, Woodbine. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Fund. Roth-Gold-stein Memorial Chapel, Atlantic City, is in charge of arrangements.

MARY FARROAT WINTERMUTE, 85, of N. Richland Hills, Tex., formerly of MANCHESTER
MARY FARROAT WINTERMUTE, 85, of N. Richland Hills, Tex., formerly of MANCHESTER, died Oct. 31 at Baylor Medical Center, Grapevine, Texas. Born in Perth Amboy, she lived in Hunterdon County and Whiting in Manchester before moving to Texas in 1998.
Her husband, William Wintermute, died Aug. 15. Surviving are two sons, William, New Hope, Pa., and John, Willsboro, N.Y.; three daughters, Ginger Castranova, Keller, Texas, Eileen Oswin, Succasunna, and Bette Jane Price, N. Richland Hills, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 66 Lacey Road, Whiting. A funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. Memorial contributions to Deborah Hospital would be appreciated.

WILLIAM WINTERMUTE, 85, of N. Richland Hills, Texas, formerly of MANCHESTER
WILLIAM WINTERMUTE, 85, of N. Richland Hills, Texas, formerly of MANCHESTER, DIED Aug. 15 in Bedford, Texas. He worked in an auto dealership in Flemington and was later employed by Flagstaff, a liquor dealership in Perth Amboy, from which he retired in 1969. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Born in Sandyston, he lived in Hunterdon County before moving to Whiting in Manchester and then to Texas in 1998.
His wife, Mary Farroat Wintermute, who survived him, died Oct 31. Surviving are two sons, William, New Hope, Pa., and John, Willsboro, N.Y.; three daughters, Ginger Castranova, Keller, Texas, Eileen Oswin, Succasunna, and Bette Jane Price, N. Richland Hills, Texas; a brother, Walter, Annandale; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

VERA WEIDMAN, 90, of BEACHWOOD
VERA WEIDMAN, 90, of BEACHWOOD, died yesterday at home. She was a legal secretary for the Dorothy Reeve Law Firm, Toms River, for 15 years, retiring in 1980. She was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Beachwood. Born in New York City, she lived in Richmond Hills, Queens, N.Y., before moving to Beachwood in 1952.
Surviving are three nephews, Frederick Harjes, Oakland, N.Y., William Harjes, Toms River, and Robert Harjes, Island Heights; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River.

HELEN J. SASS WAUTERS, 76, of ABERDEEN, died Sunday at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel She was an executive secretary at Chase Manhattan Bank, California and New Jersey, for 12 years, retiring in 1990. Born in New York City, she lived in Pasadena, Calif., before moving to Aberdeen four years ago.
Surviving are a daughter, Karin E. Wauters, and a brother, Stephen Wauters, both Aberdeen.
A Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, with entombment following at Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel. Day Funeral Home, Keyport, is in charge of arrangements.

BETTY L. VON STETTEN, 76, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of MIDDLETOWN
BETTY L. VON STETTEN, 76, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of MIDDLETOWN, died yesterday at Hospice by the Sea Care Center. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Boca Raton. She lived in Middletown before moving to Boca Raton 31 years ago.
Her husband, John, died in 1990. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John and Mary Jane von Stetten; a daughter, Lillian Cook; four brothers, Joseph, Richard and William King, all of New Jersey, and Edward King, California; three sisters, Dolores Fitsimmond and Sister Marie King, New Jersey, and Beatta Knolze, Florida; five grandchildren, Kristina Binford, James and Michael Cook, and Joseph and Julie von Stetten; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Robert J. Babione Funeral Home, (East Chapel), Boca Raton, where a service will be held 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joan of Arc Church, Boca Raton. Entombment will follow in Boca Raton Mausoleum.

EVVELYN L. TINDALL, 89, of POINT PLEASANT BEACH
EVVELYN L. TINDALL, 89, of POINT PLEASANT BEACH, died Saturday at Claremont Care Center. She was a claims examiner for the New Jersey Department of Labor and Unemployment, retiring in 1979. She was a charter member and past president of the Point Pleasant Business and Professional Club, 1948. Born in Allenwood, she was a lifelong resident of Ocean County.
Her husband, Edward A., died in 1968. Surviving are two sisters, Margaret Devoe, New Hampshire, and Susan Herman, Point Pleasant Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, is in charge of arrangements.

GEORGE SUNDBERG, 73, of Leisure Knoll, MANCHESTER
GEORGE SUNDBERG, 73, of Leisure Knoll, MANCHESTER, died Saturday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was a salesman. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Lakehurst. He was selected to chair St. John's Church 150th anniversary. He was active in all phases of community projects in Leisure Knoll. He was president of the Fisherman's Club.. He was the only member of the Knights of Columbus to serve all four chairs and became grand knight of Council 10022. As grand knight, he instituted the seminarian fund to help support a selected seminarian on his journey to become a priest. He was a member of the John D. McMahon Fourth Degree Assembly of Toms River. He was selected to assist the state chairman for the pro-life program. He chaired Leisure Knoll's 20th anniversary celebration. He introduced the Light Up for Christ ceremony at the New Hyde Park Council, which he also started here in Council 10022. He was an extraordinary fund-raiser for any organization, chairing bus trips for the Knights of Columbus, Fisherman's Club, Deborah and to mountain resorts. Born in Springfield, Mass., he lived in Fresh Meadows, N.Y., before moving to Leisure Knoll in 1989.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Mae Fahy Sundberg; a son, Stephen Wolff of Maryland; three daughters, Ellen Wolff of Marlboro, Mass., Janet Maggio of Matawan, and Karen Wolff of Atlantic City; a brother, Norman Sundberg of Sun City, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
A Mass will be offered 10 a.m. today at St. John's Church, Lakehurst. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. Donations may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills, Pemberton Township. Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, Lakehurst, is in charge of arrangements.
