CHARLES BARE, AGE 79, EAST BRUNSWICK
Charles Sherman Bare, 79, of East Brunswick died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at home after a brief illness.
Charles was an extraordinary husband, father and friend. In addition to his family, he also loved music, dogs and his home state of West Virginia.
Born in Itmann, W.Va., he enlisted in the Army Air Corps at the age of 17, serving in the European Theater during World War II. After the war, he joined the Air Force, serving his country with distinction for 22 years. After his retirement from the military, he was employed by both the Lockheed and Burroughs corporations in the field of electronics.
He was predeceased by his beautiful and loving wife of 54 years, Betty, in 2003. He is survived by his loving children, Patricia Bare of Cary, N.C., Karen Bare-Herzig and her husband, Harold, of Monmouth Junction, Tracy Bare of Raritan and Cathy Bare-Forman and her husband, Philip Forman, of Somerville; his two beloved grandchildren, Casandra Elizabeth and Jacob Charles Herzig; his devoted brother, Robert Bare of Shady Springs, W.Va.; his beloved sister, Florence Tolliver of Beckley, W.Va., and his especially devoted cousins, Alice Carr of Mullens, W.Va., Teresa Thompson of Roanoke, Va., as well as many extended family members and friends. The family extends a special thank you to all the caring people at Saint Peter's University Hospital, especially Marva Sutherland and John Dutkowski.
Graveside services will be held 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cranbury Road, South Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

EDMUND CISZEWSKI, AGE 83, SOUTH AMBOY
Edmund Ciszewski, 83, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Mr. Ciszewski was born in South Amboy. He retired in 1982 from DuPont Photo Products, where he was a chemical engineer. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in South River and a member of its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 3001 in South River and was a Fourth Degree knight.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Chester Ciszewski and Leonard Ciszewski and a sister, Jennie Merski.
He leaves his wife, Bernice "Babs" (Genus) Ciszewski; three sisters, Connie Pelczar of Maryland, Beatrice Harvey and Louise DerZawiec, both of South Amboy, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8 a.m. Thursday at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church in South River. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Mausoleum, South Brunswick. Calling hours will be 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. FLOYD WARD, AGE 85, SOUTH RIVER
Floyd W. Ward, 85, died yesterday, April 18, 2004, at home.
Born in Lacquin, Pa., he lived in South River most of his life. Prior to retiring in 1981, he was a truck driver for Spector Motor Freight, Cleveland, Ohio.
He was predeceased by his wife, Eugenia Ward, in 1992. Surviving are three daughters, Brenda Adams and her husband, Louis, of South River, Pamela Motichka and her husband, Michael, of Naples, Fla., and Judith Znaiden and her husband, Stephen, of Milltown; three grandchildren, Dawn Adams, David Adams and his wife, Karin, and Danielle Adams; a nephew, Robert Cater; his caregiver, Maria, and his beloved dog, Roxie.
Funeral services will be held at10 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, at The Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cemetery, South River. Friends may call from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 20.

HELEN SINCLAIR, AGE 80, METUCHEN
An Order of the Eastern Star ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. today at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 27), Metuchen, in memory of Helen M. Sinclair, 80, of Metuchen, who died Saturday, April 17, 2004.

JOSEPH MAZOLA, AGE 91, CARTERET
Joseph F. Mazola, 91, of Carteret died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy Division.
Mr. Mazola was born in Carteret and lived there all his life. He was a 1928 graduate of Carteret High School. He played football for Carteret High School and was the oldest living player. Prior to his retirement in 1975, he was an inspector for Foster Wheeler Corp. of Carteret/Livingston for 40 years. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart R.C. Church of Carteret. He was a member of the Carteret Senior Citizens Evening Group and was active with the seniors' Atlantic City trips.
Mr. Mazola was predeceased by his son, Joseph, in 2002; his sister, Anna Mazola, in 1999, and two brothers, John and George. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Linda Mazola of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Gary, Kevin and Cara, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rumpf Funeral Home, 21 Locust St., Carteret, followed by a 9 a.m. funeral Mass at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Carteret. Interment will be at St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge. Friends may call from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

KATHRYN MASIELLO, AGE 83, SOUTH RIVER
Kathryn (Manfreda) Masiello, 83, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Mrs. Masiello was born in Galloway, W.Va. She was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church in South River, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, the Legion of Mary, and the Corpus Christi Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the Joyce Kilmer Chapter of Deborah, and a member of the Knights of the Immaculata of Sayreville and the Sacred Heart Apostolate of Suffering, Massachusetts.
She was active in the Caring Listeners Program. She was an outstanding neighbor and a friend to everyone. She was an outstanding gardener and took great pride in what she grew. She will be missed by many. She was retired as a waitress from Denny's, and was a former Committeewoman of South River.
Her husband was the late Alexander Masiello, who died in 1992. She leaves her daughter, Kathy Jo and her husband, Charlie Engelhardt, of Sayreville; two sons, Alexander and his wife, Louise Masiello, and Samuel and his wife, Harriet Masiello, both of Clyde, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Ida Covino of South River; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick. The Rosary Society will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Rezem Funeral Home for services of its member. Maximino Castaneda, 79, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Plainfield.
Mr. Castaneda was born in the Philippines. He came to the United States in 1988. He lived in South River for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Leonor (Galsim) Castaneda; a son, Venusto and his wife, Carmen Castaneda of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Lorna Castaneda of North Brunswick; a sister, Carolina Delacruz of Toronto, Canada, and three grandchildrren, Stephen, Patricia and Maximilian.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church, South River. ROSE MOSS, AGE 75, OLD BRIDGE
Rose Denehan Moss, 75, of Old Bridge died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Summer Hill Care Center, Old Bridge.
Born in Manhattan, she lived there before moving to Houston, Texas, where she lived for 20 years before moving to Old Bridge two years ago.
Mrs. Moss was predeceased by her husband, Orville A. Moss. Surviving are her daughters, Elisa Smith, and her husband, Jimmie, of Palm Coast, Fla., and Joan Wusaty and her husband, John, of Old Bridge; her brothers, Timothy Denehan and Leonard Hall Montsberger; her sisters, Margaret Mary Schroeder and Agnes Theresa Marsicona; nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main St., Sayreville, with burial to follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Calling hours will be 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Harry W. Rash, 78, served on Wall Committee 30 years, 6 as mayor
WALL -- Harry W. Rash, 78, a former long-time member of the Township Committee who served as mayor for six years and police commissioner for 25 years, has died.
Rash died Saturday, April 17, at home surrounded by his family.
He served on the Township Committee for 30 years, from 1966 to 1996, and was appointed to six one-year terms as mayor during that time. While serving on the committee he also was a member of the Board of Adjustment and Planning Board.
He was a stereotype foreman at the Asbury Park Press for 38 years, retiring in 1981.
After that, he was the highway supervisor and supervisor of county roads for Monmouth County until retiring in 1988.
Rash was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a boatswains mate second class on the Underwater Demolition Team and received two Bronze Stars.
He was the former chief and a longtime member of the Wall Fire Company 1 and a member of the New Jersey Fire Chiefs Association and Wall First Aid Squad.
Rash was a longtime member of the Wall Republican Club, the Wall Kiwanis Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1398, Wall. He attended the West Belmar United Methodist Church.
He was also an avid golfer and especially enjoyed playing with his grandsons.
As a young man, he played for the Blackhawk Baseball Club, Wall, and the Babe Ruth League.
Born in the West Belmar section of Wall, he lived there his entire life.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Kaufman Rash; a son, Steve H. and his wife, Linda Woodward-Rash, of Jackson; two daughters, Jeanne Rash of Brick, and Sharon Love-Winstanley and her husband, Michael Winstanley, of Wall; nine grandchildren, Kelly, Patrick, Christopher Love, Emily Runyon, Amy Howard, Adam Richards, Michael and Aimee Woodward and Kimberly Hartney; and three great-grandchildren, Colin, Hunter and Aislin.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at O'Brien Funeral Home, Route 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot in Wall Church Cemetery, Spring Lake Heights. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made to Embracing Care Hospice, 2164 Highway 35, Wall NJ 07719; or N.J. State Organization for Cystic Fibrosis, 555 Preakness Ave., Totowa, NJ 07512.

AGNES T. GRESHKO NEWMAN, 81, of SPRING LAKE HEIGHTS, died on April 18. She was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of St. Catharine's Roman Catholic Church in Spring Lake and the Beehive Senior Citizen Club. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Born in Freeland, Pa., she was a resident of Spring Lake Heights for 50 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1978. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Thomas Kwietniak of Milltown; a sister, Helen Zamborsky of Allentown, Pa; one granddaughter, Jennifer Kwietniak of Milltown and her companion, Dick Maurer, of Tinton Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home, 152 N. Main St., Milltown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church of Milltown at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Sea Girt. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monmouth Medical Center Foundation in support of the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center, 300 Second Ave. Long Branch, NJ 07740.

ANNE WRIGHT NIEDDU, 83, of LONG BRANCH
ANNE WRIGHT NIEDDU, 83, of LONG BRANCH, died Saturday, April 17, at Jackson Health Care Center, Jackson. She was a communicant of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary Lodge 742 of Elks Long Branch. Born in Scotland, she had lived in Keansburg and Newark before coming to Long Branch in 1957.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Frank J. Nieddu; two daughters, Diane Borden-Yaworski and her husband, William Yaworski, of Bordentown, and Linda Nieddu of Howell; a sister, Jean Murphy of Atlantic Highlands; three grandchildren, Scott Borden, Kevin Borden and Debra Rabatie; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Luke and Shane.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., at Third Avenue, Long Branch. The funeral will be held Tuesday, and the time of Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church will be announced. Entombment will be at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.
