Harriet S. Wyjas
Services were held Jan. 17, 1990 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, Middletown Township, for Harriet S. Wyjas, 68, of Hazlet, who died Jan. 14, 1990 at the home of her daughter in Toms River.
She was an assembler at Western Electric Co., Kearny, for 10 years, retiring in 1960.
Born in Jersey City, she lived there before moving to Hazlet in 1960.
Her husband, Edward J., died in 1978.
Surviving are a son, Joseph E., Waretown; a daughter, Judith Jenkins, Toms River, and three grandchildren.
Interment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

Hazel VanWinkelen
Services were held Jan. 16, 1990 at St. Catharine's Church, Holmdel, for Hazel Van Winkelen, 90, of Holmdel, who died Jan. 13, 1990 at Bay shore Community Hospital, Holmdel.
Van Winkelen was a retired seamstress.
Born in Braintree, Mass., she lived in Cape Cod, Mass., and Old Bridge Township before moving to Holmdel in 1988.
Her husband, Vance, died in 1963.
Surviving is a sister, Mildred Smith, Harwitch Port, Mass.

John David Johnston
Services were held Jan. 18, 1990 at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, for John David Johnston, 72, of Port Monmouth, Middletown Township, who died Jan. 13, 1990 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank.
He began working for International Business Machines at age 16, and his projects included work of the starting stages of the Alaskan Highway, and he also spent several years on loan from IBM, working in Saudi Arabia, before retiring several years ago.
He was an Army staff sergeant during World War II, working on the atomic bomb in Los Alamos, N.M., and received commendation from physicist Robert Oppenheimer for his effort. While in New Mexico, he helped found an Amerian Legion post, and remained a member.
Johnston was born in Trenton and lived in Middletown most of his life.
Surviving are two brothers, Alexander, Colts Neck, and Arthur, South Amboy: three sisters, Jeanne Miller, Sunnyvale, Calif.; Virginia Jensen, Colts Neck, and Anne Malley. Bayville, Berkeley Township, and several nieces and nephews.
Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

Paul H. Schulden Sr.
Services were held Jan. 13, 1990 at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg, for Paul H. Schulden Sr., of North Middletown, Middletown Township, who died Jan. 10, 1990 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.
He was a tool and die maker fro Phelps-Dodge Corp., Elizabeth, for 33 years before retiring in 1972. He was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church; Knights of Clumbus, both Keansburg, and the Hazlet Township Seniors Bowling League.
Schulden was born in Germany and came to the United States in 1925. He lived in Elizabeth before moving to Middletown in 1964.
Surviving are his wife, the former Leonarda Coszensa; two sons, Paul H. Jr., Ohio, and Jerome, Keyport; a daughter, Angela Kirk, Mount Laurel Township; a brother, Herman, Florida, and six grandchildren.
Interment was at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.

Richard Goff Metcalf
Richard Goff Metcalf, 64, of Oxford, Md.. formerly of Middletown, died Jan. 9, 1990.
He was the owner and president of Shrewsbury Motors. Shrewsbury, from the mid-1950s until selling the business in 1984.
Prior to that, he worked in the textile industry in New York. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II; member and first president of Navesink Country Club. Middletown; past president of the Monmouth County Hunt Racing Association, and a member of the Rumson Country Club, Rumson.
Metcalf was born in New York and lived in Middletown before moving to Maryland in 1978.
A son, Richard G. Jr., died in 1981.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy R. Anson; a son, Robert A., New York; his mother, Isabella, New York and Rumson; a brother, Manton B. III, New York and Portsmouth, N.H., and a sister. Patricia M. Lampton, Lugoff, S.C.
Leonard J. Gordon
Leonard J. Gordon, 78, of Keyport, died Jan. 10, 1990 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.
He was a sheet metal worker for Ace Corp. for 20 years, and later was a painter for the New York Transit Authority for 10 years before retiring in 1974. Gordon was born in Nova Scotia and lived in Brooklyn before moving to Keyport in 1985.
Surviving are his wife, the former Sophie Radziewicz; a brother, Murdock, Sayrcville; a sister, Mary Robbins, Albuquerque, N.M., and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara Boyd Green
Services were held Jan. 13, 1990 at Fairmount Presbyterian Church, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, for Barbara Boyd Green. 38. of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Lincorft. Middletown Township, who died Jan. 7, 1990 at St. Mary's Hospital, Tucson.
She was a physical therapist for various hospitals and medical facilities, including the Kessler Institute. West Orange, and Monmouth County Occupational Services.
Red Bank, working primarily with longterm neurological patients with spinal cord injuries. She received a bachelor's degree in physical therapy from Russell Sage College.
Troy, N.Y., and was a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
She was born in Cleveland and lived in Cleveland Heights. Ohio: Pittsfield, Mass., and Lincroft before moving to Tucson 12 years ago.
Surviving are her parents, Howard Thacher and Helen Boyd Green, Hamilton, Ohio: a brother. Rex H.. Boston; two sisters, Constance West, Dalton. Mass., and Joanne Mackenzie. Norwalk. Conn., and a friend, Dean Skrinar, with whom she lived.

Evangeiine Blake Partrick
Evangeline Blake Partrick, 90, of Port Monmouth, Middletown Township, died Jan. 9, 1990 at Eatontown Convalescent Center, Eatontown.
She and her first husband owned and operated Blake Trucking Co.. Kearny. until 1965. She attended Belford United Methodist Church, Middletown, and was a member of their Methodist Women's Association; a member of Monmouth Chapter 251, Order of the Eastern Star. Atlantic Highlands: the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2179, Middletown; Middletown Historical Society; Middletown Senior Citizens Leisure Time Group, and Monmouth County Federation of Republican Clubs.
Partrick was bron in New York and lived in Kearny before moving to Port Monmouth 25 years ago.
Her first husband, Thomas Blake, died in 1965: her second husband, Stacey, died in 1971; and a son. Thomas Blake Jr., died in 1981.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Blake, Deltona, Fla., and Albin Blake, Los Angeles; two daughters, Hilda Druback, Madisonband Port Monmouth; and Lynn Zetterberg, Mays Landing, Hamilton Township; a brother, Armitage Morgan, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchidlren.

Philomena V. Molinaro
Services were held Jan. 15, 1990 at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg, for Philomena Vietello Molinaro, 73, of Hazlet, who died Jan. 10, 1990 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.
She was a communicant of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Holy Family Senior Citizens. Union Beach.
Molinaro was born in West New York and lived there and Matawan before moving to Hazlet 15 years ago.
Her husband, Alexander, died in 1964.
Surviving are two sons. Vincent, West New York, and Albert, Little Ferry; three daughters, Rose Kuppler, Somerdale; Ida Orabona. with whom she lived, and Ann Schreiber, Spring Hill, Fla.; three brothers, Jerry Vietello. New Milford: John Vietello, West New York, and Nicholas Vietello, North Bergen; two sisters, Angelina Fedderson and Rose Tomaro. both West New York; 14 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Interment was at Flower Hill Cemetery, North Bergen.

ANNA A. HOFFMANN, 92, of SHIP BOTTOM
ANNA A. HOFFMANN, 92, of SHIP BOTTOM, died March 24, 1999 at Southern Ocean Genesis Eldercare Center in the Manahawkin section of Stafford Township. She was a photo processor for many years with DuPont, Parlin, Sayreville, retiring in 1971. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, both of Perth Amboy. Born in Perth Amboy, she lived there until 1978, when she moved to Ship Bottom. She was a summer and weekend resident here from 1966 to 1978.
Her husband, George, died in 1939. Surviving are a brother, George Sheppard, Perth Amboy; a sister, Helen Thorsen, Manahawkin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Perth Amboy. Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, Ship Bottom, is in charge of arrangements.
JOSEPH J. CIOL, AGE 75, SAYREVILLE
Joseph J. Ciol died Sunday at Memorial Medical Center at South Amboy. He was 75.
He was born in South Amboy and lived in the Parlin section of Sayreville for many years.
He retired in 1993 after working for six years as a toll collector on the Garden State Parkway.
He previously was president and chief executive officer of Moser Jewel Co., Perth Amboy, where he worked for 45 years before retiring in 1987.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the USS Savannah Association, the Sayreville Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 4699, Sayreville American Legion Post 211 and Disabled American Veterans Post 67 in South Amboy.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, South Amboy.
Two brothers, John and Eugene, and three sisters, Mary Certo, Sophie Lyons and Pauline Ziobro, died previously.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Susan Evanko, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sayreville VFW Post 4699, Jernee Mill Road, Sayreville, NJ 08872.
