Margaret C. Ward, 78
Was Sales Clerk At Former Goerke's and Steinbach's
Margaret C. Ward, 78, of North Plainfield died on Sunday, August 15, 1999 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born and raised in Plainfield, she moved to North Plainfield 45 years ago.
Mrs. Ward had been employed for over 25 years as a sales clerk in the clothing department of Goerke's, then Steinbach's, department stores, formerly in Plainfield.
She was a communicant of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church in Plainfield.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Ward, in 1996.
Surviving are two aunts, Mary G. Williams and Virginia L. Graffo, both of Scotch Plains, and an uncle, Anthony Perretti of Florida.
A Mass was offered yesterday, Wednesday, August 18, at St. Bernard's Church, following the funeral from the Scarpa Funeral Home in North Plainfield.
Interment took place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Plainfield.

Raymond Comiskey, 85
Master Sergeant In Army; Was Bristol - Myers Supervisor
Raymond John Comiskey, 85, of Forked River died on Sunday, August 15, 1999 in the Medical Center of Ocean County in Brick.
Born in Brooklyn, he had lived in Westfield before moving to Forked River 15 years ago.
Mr. Comiskey had been a supervisor with Bristol- Myers in Hillside, where he worked for 45 years before retiring 19 years ago.
He was a Master Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Comiskey was a member of the Bristol- Myers Quarter Century Club and the Forked River Elks Lodge.
Surviving are two daughters, Maureen Phillips and Judy Tuton; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A Funeral Mass will be held today, Thursday, August 19, at 10 a.m. in the Epiphany Church in Brick.
Arrangements are being handled by the O'Brien Funeral Home in Brick.
Jules Wagner, 80
Formerly of Westfield; Agency Manager at State Mutual Life
Jules Wagner, 80, of San Francisco died on Thursday, August 5, 1999.
Born in Elizabeth, he had lived in Westfield before moving to San Francisco.
Mr. Wagner had been an agency manager at State Mutual Life in New York before retiring.
Prior to that, he had practiced law in New Jersey.
He was a graduate of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., and Rutgers Law School in Newark.
He was a First Lieutenant in the United States Army during World War II, commanding a signal company on Guadalcanal.
Mr. Wagner was President of the Westfield Sportsmen's Club.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Wagner; a son, Joseph Wagner; a daughter, Candace Feinman; a stepson, Peter Bradt; a stepdaughter, Marsha Armstrong; a brother, Dr. Richard Wagner, and a grandchild.
Services were private. Arrangements were handled by Pacific Interment in San Francisco.
Edward Daniels, 78
Edward Daniels, 78, of Boynton Beach, Fla. died on Sunday, August 15, 1999 in the Manor Care Nursing Home in Boynton Beach.
Born in Newark, he had lived in Westfield before moving to Florida in 1993.
Mr. Daniels had been a draftsman for many years with Parsons, Inc. in Trenton before retiring.
He was a United States Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
Surviving is a sister, Evelyn McMullen.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, August 19, in the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home in Clifton.
Elizabeth Geraldine Robinson, 84,
Elizabeth Geraldine Robinson, 84, a lifelong resident of Westfield died on Monday, April 19, at Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Mrs. Robinson was a volunteer at the Westfield Community Center, where she received a Volunteer of the Month Award in 1993.
She was a member of St. Luke’s African Methodist Episcopal Church in Westfield, where she was a stewardess.
Ms. Robinson also was involved with the Senior Citizens Housing Complex, where she lived since 1977, when she was one of its first residents.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Winifred Mayers and Bernice Robinson.
Surviving are two daughters, Orissa Terrell of Vauxhall and Ilona “Lonnie” Brown of Scotch Plains; a son, Lawrence “Clarkie” Robinson of Plainfield; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be tomorrow, Friday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Church in Westfield. Visitation will take place today, Thursday, April 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by the Plinton Curry Funeral Home in Westfield.
Alexander Lowe, 71
Supervisor With Accurate Bushing Company
Alexander Lowe, 71, of Plainfield died on Saturday, April 17, 1999 in Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Orange, he had lived in East Orange and in Scotch Plains before moving to Plainfield in 1970.
Mr. Lowe was a supervisor with Accurate Bushing Company in Garwood for 30 years.
He served in the United States Army during World War II, and was a member of the New Jersey Sportswriters Association.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Lowe; a son, Alexander Lowe, Jr. of North Plainfield, and a daughter, Jennifer Lowe, of Austin, Texas.
A memorial service will be held tonight, Thursday, April, 22 at 8 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue in Fanwood, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 815, Elizabeth, 07207.
Eleanor Koop
Eleanor “Ellie” B. Koop of Westfield died on Sunday, April 18, 1999 at home.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Mrs. Koop had lived in Springfield, Massachusetts before moving to Westfield 53 years ago.
A homemaker, Mrs. Koop was a volunteer with the Auxiliary at Overlook Hospital in Summit for more than 30 years, and served as Master Auxilian.
She was a graduate of Beaumont High School in St. Louis and also attended beauty school.
Surviving are her husband, Neil A. Koop, to whom she would have been married 60 years in June, and a daughter, Karen Koop of Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
Funeral services were private. Relatives and friends are invited to a reception on Saturday, May 8, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield.
Arrangements were handled by the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield.
