William F. Little, Jr.
William F. Little, Jr., 86, of Mountainside, died on Sunday, September 7, 1997 in Manor Care in Mountainside.
Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Little had lived in Rahway and Cranford before moving to Mountainside 35 years ago.
He had been a partner in the law firm of Armstrong and Little for 35 years before retiring in 1994.
Mr. Little graduated from Yale University in 1933, and from Rutgers Law School in 1938.
He served as a Captain in the United States Army in Europe during World War II.
He was an Elder of the Cranford Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the New Jersey, Essex and Union Bar Associations. Mr. Little also served on the Board of Managers of the Rahway Savings Institution.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Little; a daughter, Alison Little, and a brother, R.W. Little.
Funeral services were held yesterday, Wednesday, September 10, in the Vanderhoven Chapel of Hazel Wood Cemetery in Rahway.
Arrangements were handled by the Pettit-Davis Funeral Home in Rahway.
Dr. Clifford Shunk, 80, Awarded Patents While Employed at Merck
Dr. Clifford Shunk, 80, of Scotch Plains, died Friday, September 26, 1997 in Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Piper City, Illinois, he had resided in Scotch Plains for 47 years.
Dr. Shunk had been a research chemist with Merck & Co. in Rahway for 41 years before retiring in 1987. He received numerous patents while being employed by Merck.
Dr. Shunk earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Illinois in Champagne, and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
Surviving are his wife, Dolores Shunk; two sons, David Shunk of Chatham and Gary Shunk of Howell; two daughters, Susan Khoury of Fairfax, Virginia, and Nancy McCool of Westfield; a brother, Floyd Shunk of Paxton, Illinois; a sister, Lois Ogle, also of Paxton, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue, West, in Fanwood. Services were private.
Madeline Cerreto, 74
Madeline Cerreto, 74, of Madison, formerly of Westfield, died on Friday, September 26, 1997 in Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born in Newark, she had lived in Westfield before moving to Madison in 1988.
She was a 1993 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. She was a member of the University Women of America and the Madison Senior Citizens.
Miss Cerreto had been a paralegal for many years before retiring.
A Funeral Mass was offered on Monday, September 29, at St. Vincent the Martyr Roman Catholic Church in Madison, after the funeral from the Madison Memorial Home in Madison.
Surviving are two sisters, Geraldine Cerreto and Livia O'Conner.
Gloria Caldora, 68
Gloria Caldora, 68, of Scotch Plains, died on Friday, September 26, 1997 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born in Rahway, she had lived in Westfield before moving to Scotch Plains 38 years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas R. Caldora and Perry A. Caldora; a daughter, Cynthia L. Caldora, and seven grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was offered on Monday, September 29, in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield.
Edna Kelber, 84
Edna Kelber, 84, of Roselle, a former resident of Mountainside, died on Saturday, September 27, 1997 in Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Elizabeth, she had lived in Mountainside and Clark before moving to Roselle eight years ago.
She was a member of the New Jersey Foundation for the Blind.
Surviving are two daughters, Joan Kelber and Jane A. Phister; two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Kelber was offered on Tuesday, September 30, at St. Helen's Roman Catholic Church in Westfield.

Jose B. Rodriguez, 70
War Veteran; Had Been Marine Claims Adjuster
Jose B. Rodriguez, 70, of Fanwood, died on Tuesday, September 23, 1997 at home.
Born in Bayonne, he had lived in Fanwood for 38 years.
Mr. Rodriguez had been a marine claims adjuster for Continental Insurance Company in New York City, retiring 15 years ago. Before that, he had worked at Cargo Claims Service in New York.
He was a graduate of Rutgers University and Clarkson College in New York.
He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in New Providence and the Marine Insurance Claims Association.
Mr. Rodriguez was a World War II veteran, serving as a United States seaman first class in the Pacific Theater.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Johanna B. Rodriguez; a daughter, Lisa Margaret Rodriguez of Seville, Spain, and a son, David D. Rodriguez of Jersey City.
Memorial services were held on Friday, September 26, at the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue, West, in Fanwood.

Mary F. Zuk, 85
Church Volunteer; Participated in Hot Meals Program
Mary F. Zuk, 85, of Scotch Plains, died on Tuesday, September 23, 1997 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Dunellen, she had lived in Scotch Plains for 47 years.
She had worked at Johns-Manville in Manville for 30 years, retiring in 1977.
She was a member of St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains, the Scotch Plains Golden Agers and the Fanwood Senior Citizens.
She was a volunteer for the Senior Citizens Hot Meal Program of St. John's Baptist Church in Scotch Plains.
Surviving are a son, John W. Zuk; a daughter, Shirley Zande; a brother, Walter Bezek; a sister, Ann Traney, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 27, at the Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church.
