Margaret I. "Peg" Vivian
Margaret I. "Peg" Vivian, 67, of Phillipsburg, died Saturday, December 4, 1999 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Salisbury Twp., Pa.
She was a sewing machine operator for various area mills and last worked for Avante Bedspreads, in Easton.
Born December 15, 1931 in Easton, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret P. Nixon Taylor.
At one time she was active as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and was known to many as K-9 on the C.B. radio.
She attended the Easton Assembly of God Church in Palmer Twp.
Her husband, the late Leonard P. "Juice" Vivian died July 16, 1983.
She is survived by two sons, Dale P. at home and Richard A. of Carbondale, Pa., two daughters, Margaret E. Hopkins and Deborah A. Briglia, both of Phillipsburg and a brother, John W. Taylor of Easton and nine grandchildren. A granddaughter, Crystal G. Hopkins died October 20, 1991.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. The Rev. Patrick Weber, pastor of the Easton Assembly of God Church will officiate the services. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp., Pa. Calling hours will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Richard A. Vivian
Richard A. Vivian, 44, of Phillipsburg, died Monday, June 30, 2003 in his home.
He was an attendant at the Hess Gas Station in Lopatcong Township. He formerly worked at Wal-Mart in Pohatcong Twp., Friendly's in Palmer Twp., and Trichlo's in Carbondale, Pa.
Born June 7, 1959 in Easton, he was a son of the late Leonard P. and Margaret I. Taylor Vivian.
He attended the Church of the Blessed Hope of the Nazarene, Phillipsburg. He enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by a wife, the former Deborah J. Ogozaly; a son, Richard A. II; two daughters, Deziree and Patricia, all of Factoryville, Pa.; a brother, Dale P. "Juice" of Phillipsburg; two sisters, Margaret E. Stone of Phillipsburg and Deborah A. Briglia of Easton; five nephews, a niece and two great-nephews. A niece, Crystal Hopkins died earlier.
Cremation will be private. A service of remembrance will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Fire Central building, Firth and Marshall Streets, Phillipsburg. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Angelina A. Vogt
Angelina Alberta Vogt, 78, of Gracedale, formerly of Phillipsburg, died Sunday, July 8, 2001 in Easton Hospital, Wilson Borough.
Born May 1, 1923 in Easton, she was the daughter of the late August and Sarah Theophilus (Theos) Charles.
Her husband, the late George R. Vogt, Sr., died June 1, 1985.
She is survived by five sons, Michael Miskowski of Freemont, CA, Steven Miskowski of Nazareth, George, Jr. of Carlisle, PA, Thomas of Easton and James of Bath; two daughters, Sandra Van Syckle and JoAnne Gubich, both of Easton; two brothers, Victor of Lake Wylie, SC, and Robert of Auburn, CA; three sisters, Virginia Ellis of Everett, WA, Marjorie Kisling of Santa Rosa, CA and Dolly McVey of Reno, NV; thirty-one grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A grandson, Eric Miskowski died earlier.
Graveside services will be held 6:30 p.m. Friday in Fairmount Cemetery, Phillipsburg, NJ. There will be no calling hours. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ is handling the arrangements.

Raymond J. Volkert, Jr.
Raymond J. Volkert, Jr., 89, of Lopatcong Township, died Thursday, October 19, 2006 in the Brakeley Center, Lopatcong Twp.
He was a machinist for L.A. Fish Engineering in Greenwich Twp. for more than thirty years. He previously worked as a mechanic for the former Ridgway & Pfeffer Chevrolet, Firth and Marshall Sts., Phillipsburg.
Born December 3, 1916 in Easton, Pa., he was a son of the late Raymond J. Sr., and Sophia Brotzman Volkert.
He was a sergeant in the Army during World War Two and served with the 408th Replacement Company. He was a past president of the Model Airplane Club at Braden Airpark in Forks Township.
He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.
He is survived by his wife, the former Dolores A. Uch; two sons, Barry W., Sr. of Winter Garden, Fla. and Jack A. of Inverness, Fla.; a daughter, Yvonne M. Evans of Inverness, Fla.; two brothers, Jack and Glen, both of Easton; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are private and are under the direction of the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg.
Frederick Vought
Frederick "Pappy", "Pete" Vought, 71, of Harmony Twp., died Thursday, November 23, 2000 in the Lopatcong Center.
He was a truck driver for Ise Farm in Broadway, NJ for many years before his retirement.
Born June 13, 1929 in Windsor, NY, he was the son of the late Fred and Mildred Furman Vought.
He was an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, Occupation of Japan Medal, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation and a Meritorious Unit Commendation.
He is survived by a sister, Nancy E. Smith of Phillipsburg, a brother Curtis W. of Texas; three nieces, Cindy Smith with whom he resided and Hope Smith Betty Jones, both of Phillipsburg, and a great-grand nephew, David Smith of Phillipsburg.
Private cremation will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home. Rev. John Kleist, pastor of the Lutheran Church of Stewartsville will officiate the services.

Clyde C. "Bud" Wagner
Clyde Charles "Bud" Wagner, 73, of Wilson Borough, formerly of Phillipsburg, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at his daughter's home in Wilson Borough, surrounded by his loved ones, following a long battle with cancer.
Bud retired from the maintainence department of Phillipsburg Board of Education.
Born September 5, 1934 in Allentown, Pa, he was the son of Clyde C. and Catherine Sigafoose Wagner, Sr.
Bud was a member of various clubs in the Phillipsburg-Easton area, including the Y.M.I.A and the Bernardine-May American Legion Post, both in Phillipsburg, the Liberty Hose and Citizen's Fire Co. and Order of Fleas, all in Easton.
His first wife, the former Germaine Barrett, died in 1970. He is survived by his second wife, the former Audrey Parry of Washington, NJ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Darlene of Wilson Borough, Robin of Washington, NJ and Amy of New York State; two step-sons, Jeffrey Hockman of Winterhaven Florida and Scott Hockman of Buffalo, NY; three step-daughters, Lisa Henderson of Phillipsburg, Audra Hockman of Washington and Tracy Hockman of Phillipsburg; a friend and caregiver, Diane Felix and twenty-three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in Ss. Philip and James Cemetery, Greenwich Township. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

John T. Ward
John T. L. Ward, 79, of Phillipsburg, formerly of Milford, died Monday, August 18, 1997 in his home.
He began his forty-three year career with Riegel Paper in Milford, NJ in December 1941, working in the mills for twelve years. He later advanced to chemist in the laboratory for about six years, during which time he became chief chemist. He also served as director of quality control, overseeing five labs. He also worked out of the New York office as a troubleshooter, providing technical assistance to sales representatives. For the balance of his career, he served as special sales representative, and was responsible for several of the companies major accounts. He retired from the company, which was then James River in July of 1983. Prior to working for Riegel Paper, he had worked for Bethlehem Steel and the Lone Star Cement Company.
Born July 28, 1918 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the late John J. and Helen C. Hackett Ward.
He was a 1935 graduate of Phillipsburg High School. He attended Allentown Prep School where he was inspired by Professor Krause to pursue the chemistry field. He later attended Lafayette College where he majored in chemistry and minored in education. He was a life member and social secretary of the Theta Xi Fraternity and was an honorary member of the Kapa Phi Kapa Fraternity. He is a member of the graduating class of 1940 and the Marquis Society of Lafayette College.
He was active in sports during his years in school and participated in football, ice hockey, baseball and tennis.
He was a member of the American Chemical Society and the Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry.
He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.
An avid golfer, he was a member of the Oak Hill Golf Club and enjoyed playing bridge with the Holland Township Community Seniors Club, both in Milford. He was also a member of the Phillipsburg Elks Lodge 395 and the Quarter Century Club of Riegel Paper.
He and his wife, the former Mary Casey observed their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary last October 30th.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John J. Ward of Palmer Twp. and two granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Friday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Calling hours will be held Thursday, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the parish Cemetery, Greenwich Twp., NJ.

Mary C. Ward
Mary C. Ward, 82, of Palmer Twp., formerly of Phillipsburg and Milford, died Sunday, January 20, 2002 in Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem, Pa.
She was a sales clerk for the former H.L. Green Co. 5 & 10, Milady Shop, Howard's Quality Clothing Store and Sadie Henry/Killian Sauers Jewelers, all in Easton.
Born February 3, 1919 in Scranton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward C., Sr. and Veronica P. McNulty Casey.
Mary was a 1936 graduate of St. Philip and St. James High School, Phillipsburg.
She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.
She was a member and former vice-regent of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Warren 389.
Mary was a former member of the Oak Hill Golf Club in Milford and also enjoyed playing bridge and bowling.
She was a former volunteer at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg where she had previously served as a Nurses' Aid during World War Two.
Mary's husband of fifty-five years, John T. Ward, died August 18, 1997.
She is survived by a son, John J. Ward and his wife Dorothy of Palmer Twp; two sisters. Margaret Salitz of New Brunswick, NJ and Veronica Wynkoop of Phillipsburg; two granddaughters, Tracey Gill of Emmaus, Pa. and Kimberly Ward of Feasterville, Pa. Six brothers, Edward C., Jr., Charles E., John E., Robert J., Sr., Leo P., and William J., Sr., all died earlier.
Funeral services will begin 9:00 a.m. Thursday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. The interment will follow the Mass in the parish cemetery in Greenwich Twp., NJ. Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Elizabeth A. Wean
Elizabeth A. Wean, of Phillipsburg, died Friday, March 14, 2003 in her home.
She was a former packer for the Colgate Co., Jersey City, N.J.
Born April 10, 1941 in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Catherine Gorman Foster.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Her husband, George R. Wean, died Friday, February 21, 2003.
She is survived by a son, Roy J. of Phillipsburg; a brother, Frank of Bayonne, N.J.; four sisters, Mary Wishnewski of Bayonne, Anne Marie Hayes, Helen McCauley and Bernadette Bernard, all of Jersey City, N.J.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home Friday. Burial will be in Bloomsbury Cemetery, Bloomsbury, N.J.

Elizabeth M. Wean
Elizabeth M. Wean, 68, of Mercer St., Phillipsburg, died Friday, January 21, 2000 in Warren Hospital.
Born July 8, 1931 in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late George Sr., and Elizabeth Heller Graner.
She and her husband, Robert L. Wean observed their twenty-second wedding anniversary last August.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons; Frank T. LaBar, Sr., of Easton, Terry L. LaBar of Oxford and Robert E. Wean of Phillipsburg; a daughter, Joyce Pesaresi of Phillipsburg; two sisters, Joyce Torcivia of Pohatcong Twp., and Diane Davis of Easton; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Four brothers, George, Jr., Frank, Emmett and Herbert Graner all died earlier.
There will be no services or calling hours. Private cremation will be held and burial of the cremated remains will take place in the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton, NJ. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg is in charge of arrangements.

George R. Wean
George R. Wean, 82, of Phillipsburg, died Friday, February 21, 2003 in Warren Hospital.
He was a truck driver for several trucking firms, including Helm's Trucking in Moonochie, N.J, before retiring in 1960.
Born May 21, 1920 in Bloomsbury, N.J., he was a son of the late Robert and Esther (Lore) Wean.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Post, 1290 of Easton and was a social member of the #1 Fire Company in Phillipsburg.
George served his country in both World War Two and the Korean Conflict and served in both the Army and Air Force. He was a private first class in the Army from 1942 until 1949. He was assigned to the Company B 96th Signal Battalion and then the 71st Signal Battalion. He was both a Staff Sergeant and an Airman Second Class in the Air Force from 1951 until 1960 and was assigned to both the 9th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron and the 307th Refueling Squadron serving as a radio operator. He received numerous medals during his years of service.
He and his wife, the former Elizabeth A. Foster observed their twenty-fourth wedding anniversary August 29, 2002.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Roy J. Wean of Phillipsburg; a niece and several nephews. Several brothers and a sister all died earlier.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, with the Rev. Jack Roan officiating. Burial will be in Bloomsbury Cemetery, Bloomsbury, N.J. Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
