He was instrumental in the restoration of the old Presbyterian Burial Grounds in Hackettstown, N.J. as well as being active on the "Billy Yank" Civil War Memorial Committee which erected a Civil War Statue at the "Five Corners" section of Hackettstown. Mr Winship was also an Author and Illustrator having written and published 2 books; the first was called "Embalming Notes" which is still used as a teaching aid and reference book within the mortuary colleges throughout the United States. His Second Book called "The Marble", is a reflection of a soldiers wartime experiences while in Burma and China during WWII.
