Jeanne Marie Sattely
ROCKAWAY TWP. - Jeanne Marie Sattely died on Monday, January 25, 2010 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown. She was 85.
Born in Teaneck she lived in New Milford before moving to the White Meadow Lake section of Rockaway Twp. in 1958.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Joseph in 2001 and her brother Robert Armstrong.
She is survived by two daughters: Kathleen Kohler and Cynthia Knutson, and three sons: Richard, Jr., Dennis, and Michael; a sister: Gloria Grohs; a brother: George Armstrong; 6 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 29 at 9: 15am from Whitham - Kanapaux Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway to a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 65 E. Main St., Rockaway. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm only.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Josephine Kaminsky
WHARTON - Josephine Kaminsky, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Care One at Morris in Parsippany. She was 87
Born in Scranton, PA, she lived in Garfield for 68 years before moving to Wharton 20 years ago.
Mrs. Kaminsky was employed as a factory worker by Eisen Metal Bros. in Lodi before her retirement.
She was predeceased by her husband, Emil in 1988.
She is survived by her daughter: Ann Phillips, and her husband Garey of Dover; her son: Stephen Kaminsky and his wife Barbara of Florida; her sister: Marie Choida and her husband Tony; and two brothers: Sam Ciervo and his wife Agnes, and John Falcone and his companion Vici. She also has three grandchildren: Jennifer Seifert and her husband Gregory, Heather Santiago and her husband Paul, Melissa Phillips and her husband Brian Homeyer; and four great grandchildren: Jacob, Isaiah, Nehemiah, and Lilyanna Seifert.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 9:30 a.m. from Whitham - Kanapaux Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Keller Avenue, Rockaway, to a Liturgy of Christian burial held at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Rockaway. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. only.

Joanne Emph
ROCKAWAY – Joanne Emph died on Monday, December 29, 2009 at St. Clare’s Hospital/Denville. She was 64.
Born in Paterson, she moved to Rockaway 37 years ago.
Mrs. Emph was the owner of Joanne’s Hoagie Shop in Rockaway for 16 years before her retirement in 2006.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2003.
She is survived by four children, Dolores Karinja, Bobby Emph, Katie McKeon and Joanne Emph all of Rockaway; and nine grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 6:00 p.m. at the Whitham – Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Thomas E. Sweeney
STAFFORD, VA - Thomas E. Sweeney died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Marian Manor, Stafford, VA. He was 89.
Born in Bayonne, Thomas lived in Rockaway since 1955. A World War II, veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp, he was a life member of the F.A. McKenzie Post 165, Bayonne. His entire career was in government service with the Navy and Army, retiring from Picatinny Arsenal.
Thomas was a parishioner, usher and lector at St. Cecelia Roman Catholic Church, Rockaway.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Antoinette L. (Shortell) Sweeney. Tom and Ann are the parents of Richard and his wife Joy of Randolph, Sharyn and her husband Peter Kepler of Bumpas, VA, Thomas and his wife Nancy of Sparta, Marybeth and her husband Joseph Moss of Midlothian, VA, Kevin and his wife Sharon of Pocono Summit, PA, Kathleen and her husband Daniel Scatchard of Fredericksburg, VA, Kim and her husband Herbert Lindsley of Sparta, and Tammy and her husband Thomas Kehoe of Sparta; the grandparents of 24 and great grandparents of 10.
Funeral services will be held at the Whitham-Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Avenue Rockaway, on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 at 9: 15 a.m. to a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Cecelia Church, 70 Church St., Rockaway, at 10:00 a.m. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Susan Marotta
ROCKAWAY – Susan Marotta died on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Merry Heart Health Care Center in Succasunna. She was 85.
Born in Madison, she lived in Rockaway for 30 years.
Mrs. Marotta worked at Mason and Keller in Roseland for 20 years before her retirement.
She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway, and a member of the Rockaway Boro Super Seniors and the D.A.V. Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Marotta enjoyed making crafts and crocheting for the staff and residents of Merry Heart Health Care Center where she resided for the last three years.
She was predeceased by her husband Jerry in 2008.
She is survived by her daughter Lucille Raab and her husband Denny of Belvidere, her son Vincent Marotta, Sr. and his wife Dorothy of Andover; a brother Charles Arteglier, two sisters Florence Maybee, and Anna Farndell; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 9: 15 a.m. from the Whitham – Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway to a funeral Mass celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway at 10 a.m. Interment at St. Vincent cemetery, Madison. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. only.

Charlotte M. Dorusak
BOONTON TWP. – Charlotte M. Dorusak died on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Victoria Mews Assisted Living in Boonton Twp. She was 87.
Born in Newark, she lived in Rockaway Twp. for 45 years before moving to Boonton Twp. 3 years ago.
Mrs. Dorusak was a graduate of Wharton High School and the Merchants and Bankers’ Business School in NY. She worked as a secretary at Copland Middle School in Rockaway Twp. for 23 years before her retirement in 1992; prior to that she worked at Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway Twp. and Reaction Motors in Rockaway.
She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway, and a member of the Rockaway Twp. Senior Citizens club and N.A.R.F.E.
She was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 1981; and her dear companion Charles Yurecsko in 2006.
She is survived by her two daughters Elizabeth Dorusak and her husband John Davenport of Nutley, and Catherine Dorusak and her husband Lawrence Dick of Denville; three sisters Dorothy Bauberger, Gladys Perez and Virginia Deering; two step-grandchildren Lawrence and Christopher Dick; two step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 14 at 9: 15 a.m. from the Whitham – Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway to a funeral Mass celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway at 10 a.m. Interment at Gate of Heaven cemetery, East Hanover. Margaret L. Bidgood
BYRAM TWP. – Margaret L. Bidgood died on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. She was 50.
Born in Passaic, she lived in Clifton before moving to Byram Twp. 19 years ago.
Mrs. Bidgood was a homemaker.
She was a former member of The Mothers’ Center of Northwest NJ, DAISY and the Mothers’ Co-op.
She is survived by her husband Stuart; and three daughters, Candace Jacobs at home, Ashley Jacobs of Mt. Olive, and Anne Marie Jacobs of Lyndhurst.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 9:30 a.m. at the Whitham – Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway. Interment to follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. only.
Anabel Mohns
ROCKAWAY – Anabel Mohns died on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at home. She was 85.
Born in Rockaway Borough, she was a lifelong resident.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Rockaways.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2008.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Whitham – Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway. A funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home.

Lucille (nee Burns) Bianchi
BRANCHVILLE - Lucille (nee Burns) Bianchi died on Nov. 14, 2009, at her daughter Deborah and son-in-law Michael's home, where she was loved and cared for.
She was born in 1933 in Newtown, Pa., and resided on Culver Lake in Branchville.
A blue eyed, red haired beauty whose faith, generosity, compassion and accessibility endeared her to her family and countless others pleased to be called her friend. She was easy to love.
She was the strength and love to her husband, George, for 57 years of marriage and gave life to her five children, Deborah, George, Mark (deceased), Victor, and Matthew; and was blessed with nine grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, from 9: 15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Whitham-Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway, N.J. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Rockaway.

Rita R. Tironi
ROCKAWAY TWP. – Rita R. Tironi died on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at home. She was 71.
Born in Boonton Manor, a section of Boonton, she lived in Rockaway for many years.
She was a graduate of Mt. St. Dominic Academy in Caldwell, Class of 1956, and later received her Bachelor of Science degree from Nyack College in Nyack, NY.
Mrs. Tironi was a registered nurse employed as a nursing supervisor by St. Clare’s Hospitals in Denville and Sussex for 40 years. After her retirement, she worked as a school nurse for Sacred Heart School in Dover and Sacred Heart School in Rockaway.
She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway and a member of the Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Alumni Assn. of Mt. St. Dominic Academy.
Her world was her children and her grandchildren, and spending two weeks in August at the Jersey Shore in Stone Harbor.
She was predeceased by her brother Bernard Grawehr.
She is survived by her loving husband Rocco of 47 years; a son, Rocco Jr. and his wife Claire of Franklin, their children Rocco III, Nikki, Kelsee, Kendra and Troy; a daughter Linda Tironi of Hampton Twp. and her sons Christopher and Nicholas Leonardi; a son Joseph and his wife Noelle of Denville and their sons Trevor and Dante; a daughter Maria O’Dowd and her husband Brian of Mendham and their sons Evan and Aidan; and a daughter Donna Backes and her husband William of Denville and their children Conner, Emily and Sarah. Also, surviving are two brothers Dr. Theodore Grawehr and his wife Helen of Montville, Peter Grawehr and his wife Kay of Norwood; a Sister - in-law Ellen Grawehr of East Hanover; her loving Mother - in-law Margaret Tironi of Rockaway; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 9: 15 a.m. from the Whitham – Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway to a funeral Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Cecilia’s cemetery.
