Helen Dorothy Parker
ROCKAWAY – Helen Dorothy Parker died on Friday, June 6, 2008 at Morris View Healthcare Center in Morris Twp. She was 83.
Born in Charleston, SC, she lived in the Bronx before moving to Rockaway in 1990.
Miss Parker was a nurses’ aide at the NY Eye and Ear Infirmary for over 20 years before she retired in 1981.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rockaway.
She is survived by her sister Miriam Harrison of Rockaway; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Rockaway, 35 Church St., Rockaway. Interment to follow at Rockaway Presbyterian cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. only at Whitham - Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway.

Dorothea B. Rudd
DOVER – Dorothea B. Rudd died on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Morris View Health Care Center in Morris Twp. She was 85.
Born in New York City, NY, she resided in the White Meadow Lake section of Rockaway Twp. for 43 years before moving to Dover in 2000.
Mrs. Rudd was the secretary at the First Presbyterian Church of Rockaway for 24 years before her retirement in 1982.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph A. in 2005, and her daughter Judith Dickerson in 1989.
She is survived by three children, Donna Runcorn, and her husband Dan of NY, William Rudd, and his wife Diane of Ridgewood, and Deborah Whitesell, and her husband Ray of Dover; a brother John Kuplin; a sister Joan Kloepping; eight grandchildren, Freddie Dickerson, Cathy Carilli, Gary Joseph, Diana and Kelly Runcorn, K. Brian Russo, and Philip and Elizabeth Rudd; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4 at 11 a.m. at the Whitham - Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway. Interment to be held at a later date at Rockaway Presbyterian cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9p.m.
Helen (Sabok) Borecki
DENVILLE – Helen (Sabok) Borecki died on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Oradell Health Care Center. She was 94.
Born on Oct. 4, 1913 in Lugi, Poland, she was the oldest of four daughters to Michael and Marcjanna (Jurczyk) Sabok.
She married
Peter Borecki on Feb. 3, 1936. They immigrated to America in 1949 moving to New Jersey in 1951. After living in Wallington, NJ for over 27 years, she and Peter moved to the Indian Lake section of Denville in 1982. For the last several years she had lived at the Oradell Health Care Center.
She was predeceased by her husband Peter of 54 years.
Helen was an extremely hard worker who always kept busy. She enjoyed outdoor work, gardening, cooking and hosting large gatherings at her home for family & friends where she was known for her chicken soup, Kluskis, and Chrustciki. Most of all, she was very proud of her rich Polish heritage and her family.
Helen is survived by one sister, Mary, in Poland; 2 children, Dennis (and his wife Kathy), and Dorothy (and her husband John Rohack); 5 beloved grandchildren, John Rohack (and his wife Georgia), Cynthia (and her husband Robert Czaplicki), Kevin, Caren, and Scott; and 3 adored great-grandchildren, Brandon, John, and Donald.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31 at 9: 15 a.m. from the Whitham - Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway to a funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Mountain Lakes at 10 a.m. Interment at Denville cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Lynda G. Herling
ROCKAWAY – Lynda G. Herling died on Saturday May 24, 2008 at St. Clare’s Hospital/Dover after a long illness. She was 53.
Born in Denville, she resided in Rockaway for many years.
She was a graduate of Morris Hills High School in Rockaway and Kean College of NJ.
Lynda was predeceased by her father Stephen T. Sopchak.
She is survived by her mother Mabel Sopchak, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Thurssday, May 29 at 10 a.m. at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. only at Whitham – Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway.

Michael P. Feula
ROCKAWAY TWP.– Michael P. Feula died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, NY. He was 69.
Born in Newark, he moved to Rockaway Twp. in 1973.
He previously served in the National Guard during the Vietnam Era.
Mr. Feula was an English teacher at West Orange High School (formerly Mountain H.S.) for 34 years before his retirement in 1997.
Mr. Feula served as the vice-president of the Board of Directors for the Baroque Orchestra of NJ, and was a volunteer at Par-Troy Nursing Home for the past 12 years. He was a representative for the West Orange Educational Assn. and a member of the Rockaway Twp. Board of Education. He was a member of the NJ Peace Action in Bloomfield, and a former coach for the Rockaway Twp. Soccer Program. For all of his dedicated work, he received the “Morris County Volunteer of the Year” award.
He is survived by his wife Dianne of 42 years; his son Matthew Francis and his wife Heidi of Mead, CO; his daughter M. Lyn Feula of Erie, CO; his sister Lucille Skledar of Springfield; two grandchildren Niccolo and Antonio Feula; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 11 a.m. at the Whitham - Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway. Interment at Locust Hill cemetery, Dover. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 27 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Angela "Lee" Addesso
PALM COAST, FL - Angela "Lee" Addesso passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Halifax Regional Hospital in Roanoke Rapids, NC. She was 77.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she resided in Rockaway Township before moving to Palm Coast, FL in 1989.
Lee lovingly raised her children and later worked at Einstein Moonjy in Pine Brook for 15 years before retiring.
Lee was a dedicated parishioner of St. Cecilia Church in Rockaway. After moving to Florida she was an active member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge, the Italian American Club, and a longtime volunteer for the Special Olympics.
She is survived by her loving husband Dominic; her three children, Dominic and his wife Debbie, Diane Mack and her husband Dennis, and Joseph and his wife Susan; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 9: 15 a.m. from the Whitham - Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway to a funeral Mass at St. Cecilia Church, in Rockaway at 10:00 a.m. Interment at St. Cecilia cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 23 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Robert A. Mohns
ROCKAWAY – Robert A. Mohns died on Friday, May 16, 2008 at St. Clare’s Hospital/Denville. He was 75.
Born in Newark, he resided in Rockaway since 1969.
He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2183 of Rockaway.
He is survived by his wife Anabel; a son Wayne; two step-children Marsha Fosse and Mark DeMouth; a sister, Evelyn Smith; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 20 at 12 p.m. at the Whitham – Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway. Interment at Restland Memorial Park. Visiting hours will held prior to the service on Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
John "Peanut" Chwat
ROCKAWAY – John "Peanut" Chwat died on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at St. Clare’s Hospital/Denville after a short illness. He was 92.
Born in Boonton, he was a lifelong resident of Rockaway.
Mr. Chwat was a maintenance mechanic with American Cyanamid in Boundbrook for 32 years before his retirement in 1976.
He was a member of the Rockaway Borough Senior Citizens club.
He is survived by his sister Catherine Chwat; and four nieces and nephews, Raymond, Paul and Sandra Mahtook, and Tama Stalker.

Anna Stefanic
ROCKAWAY – Anna Stefanic died on Friday, May 9, 2008 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare’s Hospital/Dover. She was 97.
Born in Passaic, she lived in Clifton before moving to Rockaway over 60 years ago.
Mrs. Stefanic was a homemaker.
She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway.
She was predeceased by her husband, George; sister, Marie; brother, Joe; step-daughter, Betty Dodge; and step-son, Malcolm Stephanic.
She is survived by her daughter Georgiana Farnsworth and her husband John of Landing; step-son George and his wife Ann of Marcella; step-daughter Patricia Helton and her husband John of Poplar Bluff, MO; grandchildren Nicholas Farnsworth, his wife Kelly and their newborn daughter Cassidy Ann of Landing; Linda Simonis and her husband Mike of Denville; Steven Stefanic and his wife Sandy of Berwyn, PA; several nieces, step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; her wonderful caregivers at the Beverwyck Home in Parsippany and her friends at the Rockaway Twp. Senior Citizens South Sunshine Group.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 12 at 9: 15 a.m. from the Whitham – Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway to a funeral Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway at 10 a.m. Interment at St. Cecilia cemetery. Visiting hours will held on Saturday, May 10 from 2-6 p.m. only.

Ario A. Natale
ROCKAWAY TWP. – Ario A. Natale died on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Merry Heart Nursing Home of Boonton. He was 93.
Born in Molina, Italy, he lived in West New York, North Bergen and New Milford before moving to Rockaway Twp. in 2002.
Mr. Natale served in the Army during WWII.
He was a science teacher at Lodi High School for over 30 years, retiring in 1976.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Libera Church in West New York. Mr. Natale was also a member of the New Milford Seniors, the V.F.W., and was an avid bowler and gardener.
He was predeceased by his wife Carmela in 2002.
He is survived by his daughter Mary Meila of Rockaway Twp.; a sister Elmyra Mason; a brother Arthur; three grandchildren Terri Shetler and her husband Darren; and Michael and Alecia Meila; and his great-grandson Dylan Shetler.
