Sister Dorothy Fullam
WINDHAM - Sister Dorothy Fullam (formerly Sister M. Emmanuel), 88, died Friday Oct. 4, 2002, at the Sisters of Mercy Warde Health Center in Windham after a brief illness.
She was born in Portsmouth, the daughter of James T. and Catherina A. (Quinlan) Fullam.
She received her bachelor’s of science degree in business education from Mt. St. Mary College, Hooksett, her master’s degree in business administration from Plymouth State College and pursued further studies at Boston College, Boston University, the University of New Hampshire, the Catholic University of America and Fordham University.
Sister Dorothy taught elementary school in Berlin, Claremont, Concord, Manchester and Somersworth. She taught business subjects at St. Mary Academy, Dover, St. Joseph High School For Girls, Manchester, Bishop Brady High School, Concord, St. Mary High School, Claremont, Castle Secretarial School, Windham, and at St. Ann High School in Gloucester, Mass.
She was a business instructor at New Hampshire Vocational/Technical College, first in Berlin and then in Stratham.
After retiring from teaching, Sr. Dorothy did volunteer work at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish, Hampton.
She is survived by one sister, Margaret A. Fullam of Manassas, Va.; and several cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, 21 Searles Road, Windham. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sisters of Mercy, 21 Searles Road, Windham, NH 03087-1297.

Robin E. Higgins
SEABROOK - Robin E. Higgins, 40, of Rocks Road, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 18, 1962, in Lowell, Mass., the daughter of the late Franklin L. and Elaine T. (Hamilton) Higgins and had resided in Seabrook for nine months, coming from Hampton where she had resided for six years.
She was a 1980 graduate of Lowell High School.
She is survived by three sons, Derek Neville, Garrett Neville and Cole Gray; one daughter, Taryn Higgins; three brothers, Franklin L. Higgins Jr., of Eau Claire, Wis., Richard Higgins of California and David Higgins of Maine; two sisters, Joann Laven of Lowell and Kim Rondeau of Greenland.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton.

Gail I. Massey
PORTSMOUTH - Gail I. Massey, 61, of Bow Street, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, in Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston.
She was born Nov. 10, 1940, in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of Holman Chamberlain of Worcester and the late Phyllis (Floyd) Chamberlain. She was raised in Worcester and resided in Exeter for 20 years before moving to Portsmouth in 1993.
Mrs. Massey founded Exeter Travel Inc., in 1988, retiring in 2001.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 42 years, Roger G. Massey; two daughters, Christine Lawson of South Weymouth, Mass., and Karen Aguilo Seara of Rockledge, Fla.; two sons, Douglas Massey of Washington, D.C., and Dean Massey of Milford, Conn.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Ashmore of Bethel, Conn., and Tracy O’Donnell of Worcester; one brother, Bruce Chamberlain of Worcester; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

William J. Yurcheshen, MD
NORTH HAMPTON - William J. Yurcheshen, M.D., 54, of 215 Atlantic Ave., died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, in Exeter Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born Feb. 22, 1948, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Ludmila (Migala) Yurcheshen of North Hampton and the late Michael Yurcheshen and was raised in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was a graduate of Valley Forge High School and a 1970 graduate of Yale University, New Haven, Conn. He pursued his graduate work at the Medical School of Ohio at Toledo, completing his four-year degree in three years.
He served a one-year internship at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, Conn., and then two years of service with the National Health Service in Gallup, N.M., a government-sponsored program, helping and serving on an Indian reservation. He later served three years of internal medicine residency at the former Orange Memorial Medical Center in Orlando, Fla.
Dr. Yurcheshen began his private practice in the carriage house of his home on Atlantic Avenue in North Hampton in 1984, moving his practice to Lafayette Road in North Hampton in April of 1997, where it is today.
He held hospital privileges at Exeter Hospital and Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Before coming to North Hampton he had a practice in San Antonio, Texas, which he operated for three years.
He was a member of United Church of Christ, and had served on the church council and was a former Sunday school teacher.
Dr. Yurcheshen was a member and past president of the Hampton Rotary Club and was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship, the highest award Rotary bestows. He was serving on the Seacoast Visiting Nurse Association board of directors and had served on the board at RiverWoods in Exeter.
He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jan E. (Carden) Yurcheshen of North Hampton; one son, Scott W. Yurcheshen of North Hampton; two daughters, Anna C. Yurcheshen of North Hampton and Ashley B. Engle of Bennington, Vt.; two brothers, Michael J. Yurcheshen of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Richard P. Yurcheshen of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Beth A. Martin of Toronto, Canada; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Elsie E. Allen
BRENTWOOD - Elsie E. Allen, 87, of Middle Road died Sept. 23, 2002, at Rochester Manor following a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 3, 1915, in Lawrence, Mass., the daughter of the late Louis and Yvonne (Desharnais) Loubier.
Mrs. Allen owned and operated El-Ray German shepherd Dog Kennel in Brentwood for many years.
The widow of John R. Allen, she is survived by five daughters, Gloria J. Teague and Carole W. Sorrels, both of Tucson, Ariz., Marilyn F. Loftus of Litchfield, Joan V. Hartford of Madbury, and Linda C. Allen of Oregon; two sons, Robert J. Allen and Michael R. Allen, both of Tucson; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Barbara R. Bussey.
Graveside services will be held today at 1 p.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry.

Marcella C. Boutilier
RYE - Marcella Catherine Boutilier, 90, of Gray Court, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at the Eventide Home, Exeter, after a period of failing health.
She was born Jan. 1, 1912, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of the late Patrick and Rosalie (O’Reilly) Reilly. She was raised in Brooklyn and had resided in Rye for 60 years.
She was a graduate of Emanuel Catholic High School, Brooklyn.
Mrs. Boutilier was a Realtor and owned and operated The Boutilier Agency in Rye for 40 years.
She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, Rye, and was a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
The widow of Vincent Boutilier, she is survived by three daughters, Donna Cappucio of Miami, Fla., DeAnna Boutilier of North Hampton and Wendy Morton of Newington; one son, Brian Boutilier of Mullica Hill, N.J.; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Patricia Murray and Margaret Riley, both of California; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Rye.

Clyde O. Brown
SEABROOK - Clyde O. Brown, 76, of 40 Railroad Ave., died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, in Exeter Hospital.
He was born Nov. 2, 1925, in Seabrook the son of the late Herbert R. and Emily E. (Oliver) Brown.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Brown worked for the former Louis Shoe in Amesbury, Mass., Ruth Shoe in Newburyport, Mass., and Welpro Shoe Co. in Seabrook, starting as a laborer and working his way up to foreman and superintendent.
He was a selectman in Seabrook for 12 years; was park commissioner and a member of the Cemetery Committee. He was the union agent for the AFL-CIO in Newburyport.
He was a member of Trinity United Church; the Raymond E. Walton American Legion Post No. 70; and the Seabrook Fireman’s Association.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice May (Greenman) Brown of Seabrook; one son, Clyde O. Brown Jr. of Seabrook; one stepson, Robert A. Beal of Seabrook. one stepdaughter, Dorothy E. Chase of Seabrook; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, James F. Brown of Hampton; one sister, Edith S. Randall of Seabrook; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Herbert Brown Jr. and Francis Brown, and one sister, Daisy Pietrowski.
Calling hours will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook.

Avis E. Bushway
HAMPTON - Avis (Edwards) Bushway, 85, of Park Ave., died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, after a lengthy period of declining health.
She was born July 27, 1917, in Bellows Falls, Vt., the daughter of the late Herbert and Harriet (Tolin) Edwards. She came to Hampton in 1969 from North Walpole.
She was a 1936 graduate of Bellows Falls High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a physical therapist at naval hospitals in Bethesda, Md., and Chelsea, Mass.
Mrs. Bushway and her late husband owned and operated Ferncroft Recreation Center at Hampton Beach from 1969 until retiring in 1980. She had previously been a bookkeeper at Jones & Lamson in Springfield, Vt., and for the Bushway Plumbing and Heating Co. in Bellows Falls, a company that she and her husband owned from 1955 until 1969.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church and a former member of St. Peter Church in North Walpole.
The widow of Harold E. Bushway, who died August 8, she is survived by two daughters, Christine M. Bushway of Hampton and Patricia J. Bushway of Alexandria, Va.; one son, Richard S. Bushway of Hampton; one granddaughter; one sister, Jean Young of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one brother, Henry Edwards.
