Evelyn Burford

HAMPTON - Evelyn (Jackson) Burford, 96, of 27 North Shore Road, a former resident of 3 Foster Lane, Rye, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, in Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born Dec. 9, 1905, in Leigh, Lancashire, England, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Jackson. She came to the United States at the age of 15 with her parents and had lived in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She had resided in Rye for many years and came to Hampton in 2001.

The widow of William B. Burford, her husband of 68 years who died in 1996, she is survived by one son, William B. Burford Jr. of Hampton, with whom she made her home; several nieces and nephews; and her son's close friend and partner, George Morrissey.

Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton, with the Rev. Bartholomew Leon, pastor of St. George Maronite Catholic Church, Dover, officiating. Burial was in Central Cemetery, Rye.

Joyce K. Frasier

STRATHAM - Joyce K. Frasier, 61, of 267 Portsmouth Ave., died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, in Exeter Hospital after a courageous and dignified fight against multiple myeloma.

She was born April 4, 1941, in Springfield, Vt., the daughter of John and Olga (Waida) Lernatowitz. She was raised in Keene and had resided in Stratham for 36 years.

She was a 1959 graduate of Keene High School and attended the University of New Hampshire.

Mrs. Frasier was a member of the Stratham School Board and a Brownie leader. She was an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society for many years.

She was a communicant of St. Michael Church, Exeter, where she taught religious instruction and a member of St. Mary Church, Newmarket.

She was devoted to her family and had many interests and hobbies which provided service to others.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Francis J. Frasier of Stratham; two sons, John Frasier and his wife Katharine of Concord and Christopher Frasier and his long time friend Kimberly Reis of Rye; three daughters and their husbands, Heather and Christopher Chabot of Campton, Hilary and Stephen Hayes of Stratham and Courtney and Joseph Grygiel of Barrington; four grandchildren; and many extended family members.

She was predeceased by an infant son, Francis J. Frasier Jr.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Front Street, Exeter. Burial will be in Maple Lane Cemetery, Stratham, followed by a reception in Stratham Community Church which is adjacent to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the International Multiple Myeloma Foundation, c/o Contribution Services, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445, or to the charity of one's choice.

John Fields

HAVERHILL, Mass. - John Fields, 68, died of cancer Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at his home.

He was born Dec. 5, 1933, in Boston, the son of the late Edwin S. Sr. and Mildred (Hickey) Fields. He had lived in Haverhill all of his adult life and was a lifelong summer resident of Rye Beach.

He was a graduate of Boston English High School and received his bachelor of arts degree from Bowdoin College in 1958, where he was a member of PSI Upsilon fraternity.

He served with the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Fields owned and was chief executive officer of Marble Motor Corp. in Haverhill.

He was a member of the Rotary Club of Haverhill; a former president of the Rye Beach Club and a former director of the Bank of Boston.

He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Haverhill Country Club and Abenaqui Country Club, Rye Beach. At the age of 17 he was ranked the No. 3 Schoolboy in New England on the Boston Golf Team.

The widower of Barbara J. (Marble) Fields, who died in 1998, he is survived by three sons, John Fields Jr. of Washington, D.C., Dana A. Fields, and his wife Linda, and Duncan E. Fields, all of Haverhill; one daughter, Melinda S. Fitzsimmons of Haverhill; one grandson; one brother, Dr. Edwin S. Fields III of Lexington, Mass.; one sister, Constance S. Fields-Toppan; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill.

Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01845.

Nanci C. Godfrey

CONCORD - Graveside services for Nanci C. (Haughton) Godfrey will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at 10 a.m. in High Street Cemetery, Hampton. The Rev. Richard Siener of Christ Church, Exeter, will officiate.

Mrs. Godfrey died May 23, 2002.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew's By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, Rye, NH 03870.

Arrangements are by the Chadwick Funeral Service, New London.

Ernest R. Gregorowicz

NORTH HAMPTON - Ernest R. "Mr. G" Gregorowicz, 71, of 16 Woodridge Lane, died Thursday, July 18, 2002, in Exeter Hospital.

He was born Jan. 12, 1931, in Lawrence, Mass., moving to Hampton in 1958 and had resided in North Hampton for 21 years.

He was a 1949 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1953 graduate of Columbia University, New York City, and was a high school and college football player. He received his master's degree in education from Northeastern University, Boston.

Mr. Gregorowicz taught social studies and was the head football coach at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton from October 1957 until June 1968. He taught psychology and was the assistant athletic director and line coach at Amesbury (Mass.) High School from the fall of 1968 until his retirement in January 1992. He sold real estate for Dunfey's Realty and Paul Keenan Realty and was a police officer at Hampton Beach during the summer.

He was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, Rye Beach, and a former member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

He loved animals and was a long time supporter of the New Hampshire SPCA. He enjoyed fly fishing in the North Country and spending time his family in Camden, Maine.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Geraldine (Lord) Gregorowicz of North Hampton; two daughters, Kathleen Ann Ildeniz of Greenland and Tara-Ann Gregorowicz of North Hampton; one sister, Delores Donnelly of Andover, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday in St. Theresa Church. Burial was in Center Cemetery, North Hampton.

Memorial donations may be made to the N.H. SPCA, P.O. Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885.

Esther T. Higgins

HAMPTON - Esther T. (Donahoe) Higgins, died Saturday, July 20, 2002.

The widow of Robert M. Higgins, she is survived by one son and his wife, Robert M. Jr. and Lianne Higgins of Methuen, Mass.; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Kathy T. and Richard Stella and Maureen E. and Kenneth Comeiro, all of Woburn, Mass., and Rosemary P. and Thomas McNamara and Regina M. Higgins, all of Hampton; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Dr. Thomas Donahoe of West Springfield, Mass; one sister, Claire Mawn of New York; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four sisters, Alice Mahoney, Grace Wall, Mary VanGelder and Helen Delorey.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., Woburn.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

John J. Laliberty Jr.

HAMPTON - John J. Laliberty Jr., 44, died Friday, July 19, 2002, in Exeter Hospital after a sudden illness.

He was born Jan. 8, 1958, in Methuen, Mass., the son of John J. Sr. and Mary B. (Wefers) Laliberty of Methuen, and was raised in Lawrence, Mass.

He was a 1977 graduate of Central Catholic High School, Lawrence.

He was a U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army veteran serving for 12 years and was in the reserves for eight years.

Mr. Laliberty was employed by McKesson Drug Co., Methuen, for 14 years.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Ruthe A. (Kelley) Laliberty; three sons, Steven M. Laliberty, Francis J. and John M. Duran, all of Hampton; one brother, James M. Laliberty of Pelham; two sisters, Ellen M. Melanson of Londonderry and Mary F. Laliberty of Lawrence; his in-laws, Joseph and Virginia Kelley of Bradenton, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday in St. Lucy Church, Methuen. Burial was in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.

Memorial donations may be made to the John J. Laliberty Jr. Scholarship Fund, c/o Citizens Bank, 35 Winnacunnet Road, Hampton, NH 03842.

Arrangements were by the Cataudella Funeral Home, Methuen.

Thommy Nonthaxay

LEOMINSTER, Mass. - Thommy Nonthaxay, 82, of 18 Cedar St., died Friday, July 19, 2002, in Health Alliance Hospital, Leominster.

She was born May 4, 1920, in Laos and came to the United States 11 years ago and had resided with her family in Nottingham, California and Leominster.

She is survived by three daughters, Noupone Nonthaxay and Vilayvanh Chanthakoumane, both of Nottingham, and Prasong Kittiphanh of Leominster; three sons of Laos; one brother and three sisters, also of Laos.

She was predeceased by one son, Thong Nonthaxay, who died in 1994.

Buddhist services were held Monday in the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, Newmarket, followed by cremation.

Kenneth F. Wyman

NORTH HAMPTON - Kenneth F. Wyman, 67, of 203 Lafayette Road, died Friday, July 19, 2002, in Exeter Hospital.

He was born Jan. 20, 1935, in Bennington, Vt., the son of the late Leslie M. and Lena B. (Maxim) Wyman. He lived in Eden Mills, Vt., for 20 years moving to North Hampton last May.

Mr. Wyman was a fleet mechanic for Pattern Plumbing Co.

He enjoyed working in his machine shop, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his companion, Marie E. Moschner of North Hampton; one daughter, April M. Moore of Medway, Mass.; one stepson, Dana B. Moschner of Tennessee; two stepdaughters, Darlene S. Moschner of Winchendon, Mass., and Dawn M. Leger of Phillipston, Mass.; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one brother, Claude P. Wyman of Hyde Park, Vt.; and one sister, Shirley Graves of Wallingford, Vt.

He was predeceased by one brother, Marvin Wyman, and one sister, Norma Wyman.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Errol S. Nedeau Sr.

SEABROOK - Errol S. "Tonto" Nedeau Sr., 63, of 58 Collins St., died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, in Anna Jaques Hospital, Newburyport, Mass.

He was born Oct. 20, 1938, in Seabrook, the son of the late James and Mary (Eaton) Nedeau.

Mr. Nedeau was a plating technician and photo etcher at E. G. & G. Inc., in Salem, Mass., for 20 years, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of Rand Memorial Church and the Seabrook Militia.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Katherine R. (Perkins) Nedeau; three sons, Errol S. "Bub" Nedeau Jr., James Nedeau and Peter Nedeau, all of Seabrook; two daughters, Luanne Goss and Kathleen Knowles, both of Seabrook; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Arland Nedeau of Portsmouth; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one sister, Marilyn Brown; and two brothers, James Nedeau Jr. and Harold Nedeau.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Rand Memorial Church, Seabrook.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

Mildred M. Nichol

PORTSMOUTH - Mildred M. Nichol, 93, formerly of Hillcrest Estates, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at the Edgewood Centre.

She was born Jan. 12, 1909, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the daughter of the late Joseph and Jane (Moody) Murray. She had resided in Boston before moving to Portsmouth 30 years ago.

Mrs. Nichol attended Bethany Congregational Church, Greenland.

The widow of Ralph C. Nichol, who died in 1969, she is survived by one daughter-in-law, Phyllis D. Nichol of Portsmouth; three grandchildren, Joseph N. Nichol of Portsmouth, Sharon Schniedewind of Portland, Ore., and Elizabeth Brooker of Eliot, Maine; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sons, Ralph M. Nichol, who died in 1994, and Samuel S. Nichol, who died in 1958.

Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Bethany Congregational Church, 500 Breakfast Hill Road, Greenland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethany Congregational Church.

Assistance with the arrangements was by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.
