Paul Keriazes
HAMPTON - Paul Keriazes, 70, of 12th Street, died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Seacoast Health Center.
He was born Jan. 31, 1932, in Manchester, the son of the late Andrew and Vasilike (Zekos) Keriazes and had resided in Hampton for 14 years coming from Wappingers Falls, N.Y.
He was a 1951 graduate of Manchester Central High School, a 1954 graduate of the college prep program at Brewster Academy, Wolfeboro, a 1957 graduate of Wentworth Institute, Boston, and a 1969 graduate of Marist College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Keriazes was an electrical engineer for IBM's research and development facility in Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Portsmouth Lodge of Elks No. 97.
He enjoyed riding his bicycle, working in his garden, playing bridge and living at the shore.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Catherine (Kanteres) Keriazes of Hampton; one daughter, Paula Keriazes of New York City; one son, Andrew Keriazes of Rensselaer, N.Y.; one granddaughter; one brother, Steve Keriazes of Hooksett; five sisters, Eva Covatis and Alice Lylis of Hampton, Maria Sanders and Joanne Keriazes of Manchester, and Elizabeth Hatzos of Barnstead; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Louis, Apostolos and Harry Keriazes.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Grayel G. Johnson
BROOKLINE, Mass. - Grayel G. Johnson, 31, died March 4, 2002, after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 7, 1970, in Melrose, Mass., the son of Franklin C. Johnson of Nashua and Gayle E. Johnson of Epping.
He was a 1988 honor graduate of Epping High School. He showed an early interest and talent in art and was chosen class artist and received an art scholarship upon graduation. He attended the University of New Hampshire and was a 1998 graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art.
Mr. Johnson was a freelance artist and a projectionist at the Brattle Street and Coolidge Street theaters. He had previously been a guard at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, for many years.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Bryn Johnson of Portsmouth; his stepmother, Dorothy Johnson of Nashua; his maternal grandparents, Herman and Virginia Eames of Exeter; his paternal grandparents, Col. Franklin C. Johnson and Nancy E. Johnson of Northfield; one uncle; and several cousins.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m. in Epping Community Church, Epping.

Leslie Ann Batista
SEABROOK - Leslie Ann Batista 21, of 47 Weare Road, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, in Anna Jaques Hospital, Newburyport, Mass., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born April 20, 1980, in Boston and had resided in Seabrook for six years coming from Hampton.
She attended local schools and was a 1997 graduate of Winnacunnet High School.
Miss Batista was a photo technician at the Wal-Mart store in Seabrook.
She was engaged to be married to Raymond Davis Jr. of Hampton.
In addition to her fiancee, she is survived by her mother and stepfather, Gail (Norrish) and Bill Oxley of Seabrook; her father and stepmother, Carlos and Silvia Batista of Medford, Mass.; one sister, Joanne Batista of Seabrook; her paternal grandparents, Tiberio and Maria Batista of Cambridge, Mass.; her half-brother, Carlos E. Batista of Medford; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge St., Cambridge, Mass.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton. Burial will be in High Street Cemetery, Hampton.

Francis T. Bergin
WALTHAM, Mass. - Francis T. Bergin, 85, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Brighton, Mass.
He was born in Waltham the son of the late Thomas F. and Anne Louise (O'Rourke) Bergin and was a lifelong resident of Waltham.
He was a 1934 graduate of St. Mary's High School, a 1938 graduate of Manhattan College, New York City, and received his master's degree in civil engineering from New York University in 1941.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II serving in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands. He served with the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 26 years, retiring in 1976 as a lieutenant colonel.
Mr. Bergin was the chief engineer in the construction division of the Metropolitan District Commission from 1946 until 1981. As an engineer with the MDC he participated in many major construction projects in the field of water pollution control, water supply and flood controls.
He was a member of the Exeter Country Club; the New England Water Control Federation; the Boston Society of Civil Engineers; many professional water and water control commissions; and a former member of the Waltham Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Helen L. (Ryan) Bergin; eight daughters and six sons-in-law, Maureen and William Terry of Arlington, Mass., Kathleen and David Santacroce of Pawcatuk, Conn., Helen and Dwight Kranz of Hampton, Joan Bergin of Waltham, Virginia Bergin of Arlington, Eleanor and Douglas Erickson of Pepperell, Mass., Regina and Michael Jackson of Chelmsford, Mass, and Susan and Leonard Connaughton of Arlington; one son and his wife, Dr. Francis T. and Carol Bergin Jr. of Bethesda, Md.; 24 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Bergin of Waltham; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one daughter, Alice Bergin; three sisters, Louise Bergin, Margaret Bergin and Mary Collins; and three brothers, Thomas Bergin, Edward Bergin and Joseph Bergin.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday in St. Mary Church, Waltham. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.

Norma K. Cutrone
TAMWORTH - Norma Kay (Drake) Cutrone, 59, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, in an automobile accident in Manchester, Vt.
She was born Sept. 3, 1942, in Lynn, Mass., the daughter of the late Charles A. and Olive E. (Cook) Drake. She was raised in Lynn and had resided in Tamworth for 35 years.
She was a 1960 graduate of Lynn English High School.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Marnie Cutrone of Naples, Fla., Michele and James Killeen of Everett, Mass., and Amy and Michael Rogers of Tamworth; two grandchildren; one brother, Charles A. Drake III of Hampton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday in St. Andrews in the Valley Church, Tamworth.

Louis A. Pick
EXETER - Louis A. Pick, 91, of RiverWoods Drive, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, in Exeter Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 29, 1910, in Cleveland, the son of the late Adolf and Julie (Laronge) Pick. He was raised in Cleveland and had resided in Shaker Heights, Ohio, for many years before coming to Exeter seven years ago.
Mr. Pick owned and operated Louis A. Pick Funeral Supplies.
He and his late wife enjoyed and were subscribers of the Cleveland Orchestra and were season tickets holders for the Cleveland Indians games.
The widower of Elsa (Hollander) Pick, who died in 1994, he is survived by one daughter, Linda, and her husband Dr. Gary Kraus of Amesbury; three grandsons; four great-grandsons; and one sister, Eleanor Tannenbaum of Los Angeles.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Gertrude F. LeRoy
SOUTH HAMPTON - Gertrude F. Lamprey Terry LeRoy, 88, of Hilldale Ave., died Monday, March 25, 2002, in Exeter Hospital.
She was born June 4, 1913, in Kensington, the daughter of the late John and Ethel (Blake) Lamprey. She was a longtime resident of Amesbury, Mass., and Bayonet Point, Fla., and had resided in South Hampton for 10 years.
She was a 1932 graduate of Amesbury High School and was active with all class reunions.
Mrs. LeRoy was a clerk at Evangelines in Amesbury.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hampton Falls and was formerly an active member of Market Street Baptist Church in Amesbury.
She was instrumental in organizing the Lamprey Family Reunion held every year in Kensington.
She and her late husband organized the first Humpty Dumpty School Fair which is held in the Horace Mann School in Amesbury.
The widow of Maurice E. LeRoy, who died in 1992, she is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Donna and Leonard Sands of South Hampton, with whom she made her home, and Beverly and William Drew of Amesbury; two sons and their wives, Kenneth and Anita Terry of Amesbury and David and Sharon Terry of Merced, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial services will be held Monday, April 1, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Hampton Falls, with the Rev. Kenneth Lawrence officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will be in Village Cemetery Kensington at a later date.

Ruth C. Caverhill
AIKEN, S.C. - Ruth Collishaw Caverhill, 76, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Caverhill was a member of Town & Country, Wise Outrageous Women, Kalmia Landing Homeowners and the University of New Hampshire Marine Docents.
She is survived by one son, Robert Caverhill of Atlanta, Ga.; and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel, Aiken, with the Rev. Martha Ebel officiating. Burial will be in Exeter Cemetery.
Loretta J. David
SEABROOK - Loretta J. David, 87, of 74 Washington St., died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at her home.
She was born Oct. 10, 1914, in Spencer, Mass., the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Chagnon) Balcom.
Mrs. David was employed by CBS Hytron and Towle Silversmith, Newburyport, Mass., and as a cook at the former Greenleaf Nursing Home, Salisbury, Mass.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Newburyport, and enjoyed entertaining.
The widow of Ovila David Sr., who died in 1993, she is survived by two sons and their wives, Ovila "Ollie" and Agnes David of Amesbury, Mass., and Dale and Marie David of Seabrook; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one sister, Roberta Bourque.
