Eleanor E. Dow
SEABROOK - Eleanor E. Dow, 76, of 43 New Zealand Road, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, in Exeter Hospital.
She was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Newburyport, Mass., the daughter of Alexander and Vera (Carlson) Kallio.
Mrs. Dow was employed by Welpro Shoe Co. and Adhesive Technologies.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
The widow of Milton Dow, she is survived by two daughters, Pamela Fish of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Sandra Boisvert of Exeter; one son, Harry Dow of California; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joyce Kimber of Newburyport.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Alton D. Eaton Jr.
SEABROOK - Alton D. "Zilly" Eaton Jr., 73, of 46 Adams Ave., died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, in Exeter Hospital.
He was born June 9, 1927, in Seabrook, the son of the late Alton D. and Eliza B. (Eaton) Eaton.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict serving for 16 years in the Army and with the U.S. Army Reserves for eight years. Following his retirement from the service he was a part-time police officer in Seabrook and was employed in the security department at the Seabrook Greyhound Park.
He was a former member of the Raymond E. Walton American Legion Post No. 70 of Seabrook.
He is survived by his wife, Edna A. (Blaisdell) Eaton of Seabrook; two sons, Harry L. Blaisdell and Alton D. Eaton III, both of Seabrook; one daughter, Charlene M. Mills of Seabrook; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Helen D. Knowles, Altina S. Eaton and Necia P. Thurlow, all of Seabrook, and Dora L. Lounsbury of Merrimac, Mass.; three brothers, Arthur H. Eaton of Seabrook, Samuel L. Eaton of Northwood and Franklin D. Eaton of Vermont; three sisters-in-law, Tekla Eaton, Audrey Eaton and Charlotte Eaton; and 21 nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, Raymond Eaton, who died in 1993.
There are no calling hours and it is requested that flowers be omitted.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
Elizabeth H. Ellis
EXETER - Elizabeth Hunt Ellis, 84, of Langdon Place, formerly of North Hampton, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, in Exeter Hospital.
She was born May 26, 1916, in Glendive, Mont., the daughter of the late Ralph L. and Sarah (McCullough) Hunt. She moved to Exeter in 1998 coming from North Hampton where she had lived for 30 years.
She was a 1933 graduate of Gould Academy, Bethel, Maine, and a 1937 graduate of Bates College, Lewiston, Maine. She did graduate work at the University of Maine and Boston University.
Mrs. Ellis taught at Hampton Academy Junior High School for 12 years, retiring in 1969. She had previously taught English and history in Maine and in the American School at Wheelus Air Force Base, Libya, North Africa.
She was an active member of the Seacoast Teachers Association; the Winnacunnet Scholarship Grant Fund; and the ACBL Bridge Club. She served on various committees at Exeter Country Club where she was a playing member of the New Hampshire Women's Golf Association.
The widow of Carl C. Ellis, who died in 1997, she is survived by two daughters, Susan Halliday Smith of North Hampton and Sally Halvorsen of Bethlehem; and three grandchildren.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 29, at 1:30 p.m. in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.

Marjorie V. Lord
HAMPTON - Marjorie V. Lord, 71, formerly of 78 Dearborn Ave., died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood.
She was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Amesbury, Mass., the daughter of the late Leeland and Margaret (Dearborn) Lord.
She attended Amesbury schools and was a graduate of Hampton Academy and attended Burdett College, Lynn, Mass.
Miss Lord was a bookkeeper for the School Administrative Unit No. 21 in Hampton for 16 years and at the Rockingham County Nursing Home for 14 years.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church; of the Women's Guild of the church; and and was a volunteer at the Rockingham County Nursing Home.
She is survived by several cousins.
Funeral services wee be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will be in Bartlett Cemetery, Amesbury.

Margaret A. Reilly
HAMPTON - Margaret A. Reilly, 70, of 753 Ocean Blvd., died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at Exeter Healthcare.
She was born Oct. 12, 1930, in New York, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (O'Donnell) McDermott. She was raised in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston and had resided in Hampton since 1973.
She was a 1960 graduate of Regis College, Weston, Mass., where she received her bachelor's degree in psychology and education. She did her graduate work at The Botolph School, Boston, where she received her elementary school art degree.
She was a novitiate at Sisters of St. Joseph, Framingham, Mass., and for 18 years was an educator assigned as Sister Kathleen Mary for the Diocese of Boston. As a Sister of St. Joseph's Educational Community in Boston, she taught grades 2-8 at St. John and St. James Schools in Swampscott, Mass., Our Lady School in Chelsea, Mass., St. Matthew's School, Boston, and the Kennedy Public School in Brockton, Mass. She later served as the assistant principal as well as a teacher for grades 4-8 at Sacred Heart School in Hampton from 1981 until 1991.
She most recently was co-owner of Mary Margaret Greenhouses in North Hampton with her daughter and had worked as a consultant with her late husband for Rand McNally and Company in the educational division.
The widow of Richard M. Reilly, who died in 1985, she is survived by one daughter, Julia M. Reilly of Hampton; one sister, Kathleen Beatty of Natick, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton. Burial will be in High Street Cemetery, Hampton.
Sarah G. Smith
EXETER - Sarah G. Smith, 71, of RiverWoods Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, in Exeter Hospital after a sudden illness.
She was born April 19, 1929, in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of Newell and Louise (Wyatt) Garfield and had resided in Exeter for 5 1/2 years. She summered in Cuttyhunk Island, Mass.
She was a graduate of Miss Porter High School and Vassar College, where she received her bachelor of arts degree in political science.
Mrs. Smith worked for the Central Intelligence Agency for several years before her marriage.
She enjoyed writing.
The widow of Peter H. Smith, who died March 25, 2000, she is survived by two daughters, Sarah Smith and Lisa Wright, both of Portland, Maine; one son, Peter H. Smith Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren; two brothers, Newell Garfield of Blue Hill, Maine, and Wyatt Garfield of Princeton, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Christ Church Episcopal, 43 Pine St., Exeter. Private burial will be in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cuttyhunk Methodist Church, Cuttyhunk, MA 01713.

Patricia Souther
SEABROOK - Patricia Souther, 82, a former longtime resident of South Main Street, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, in Concord Hospital.
She was born Nov. 28, 1918, in Lawrence, Mass., and had resided in Seabrook from 1953 until 1993 when she moved to Epsom Manor, Epsom.
She was a graduate of Lawrence schools.
Mrs. Souther worked for Souther Shellfish for several years and for the former Ideal Laundry in Amesbury, Mass.
The widow of Abram P. Souther, who died in 1987, she is survived by one son and his wife, Abram and Nancy Souther of Epsom; her twin sister, Catherine Eaton of Amesbury, Mass.; one brother, Nicholas Frank; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one brother, Steven Frank.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Wildwood Cemetery, Seabrook.
Austin H. Wagstaff
HAMPTON FALLS - Austin H. Wagstaff, 65, of 23 Victoria Drive, formerly of Exeter and Marblehead, Mass., died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Wagstaff was employed by A.C. Lawrence Leather Co. of Danvers, Mass., for many years, and by Victor Graphics of Baltimore, Md., and Office Supplies New England.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Gerrish) Wagstaff; one son, Thomas Wagstaff of Wrentham, Mass.; two daughters, Cynthia MacLeod of Hampton Falls and Katherine Shoubash of Bow; and seven grandchildren.
At Mr. Wagstaff's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

Jane F. Cooper
SEABROOK - Jane F. Cooper, 54, of 47 Weare Road, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at her home.
She was born March 12, 1946, in Dedham, Mass., the daughter of Katherine R. (Mahoney) Monaghan of Norwood, Mass., and the late Melvin Monaghan and had resided in Seabrook for 20 years.
She was a graduate of Dedham High School and from Mount Ida College, Newton, Mass., with an associate's degree in business administration.
The widow of Franklin Cooper, who died in 1975, in addition to her mother she is survived by one son and his wife, Steven M. and Maria Cooper of Newmarket; one daughter, Stacey M. Cooper of Newmarket; one grandson; and one brother, J. Barry Monaghan of Norwood.
Private services and burial in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham, will be held at the convenience of the family.

Tyler Michael Eaton
SEABROOK - Tyler Michael Eaton, 14 months, of 102 Railroad Ave., died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, in an accident in his home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1999, in Exeter, the son of Chris M. Eaton and Amy E. Wasson.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Ed and Yvette (Tirone) Wasson; his paternal grandparents, Stephen and Linda (Schrempf) Perkins; his maternal great-grandparents, Joe and Merlene Tirone; his paternal great-grandparents, Harold and Dorothy Schrempf, all of Seabrook; his paternal great-grandmother, Altina Eaton of Brentwood; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services were held Thursday in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton. Burial was in Wildwood Cemetery, Seabrook.
