George Beesley
EXETER - George Beesley, 83, of RiverWoods Drive, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at the Lodge at RiverWoods.
He was born Aug. 6, 1917, in Chicopee, Mass., the son of the late Frank M. and Jessie E. (Miles) Beesley. He had resided in Lynnfield, Mass., for 55 years before moving to Exeter five years ago.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a bachelor of arts degree. He served as president of the Alumni Association, Class of 1939.
Mr. Beesley was the founder of Beesley Associates, a management consulting business in Boston, and served as president for 20 years.
He was a member of the Lynnfield School Committee and was active on the school building committee and other town organizations.
He was an active member of Centre Congregational Church, Lynnfield.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor (Cook) Beesley; two sons, Richard C. Beesley of Atlanta, Ga., and Peter Beesley of Marblehead, Mass.; one daughter, Martha Gardner of Atlanta; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Centre Congregational Church, Lynnfield.

Lillian Garceau
EXETER - Lillian (McLean) Garceau, 99, of Sherwood Forest, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Charlwell House, Norwood, Mass.
She was born April 28, 1901, in New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Mullin) McLean and had resided in Jamaica Plain, Mass., before coming to Exeter.
Mrs. Garceau retired from R.H. Stearns and had also been employed by Salada Tea.
The widow of Frederick D. Garceau, she is survived by two friends, Josephine Parker of Exeter and Dorothy N. Cook of Westood, Mass.
Funeral services were private. Burial was in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.
Arrangements were by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.
George W. Lonergan Jr.
PORTSMOUTH - George W. Lonergan Jr., 71, of 140 Court St., died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, in Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
He was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Boston, the son of George and Drucilla (Carter) Lonergan. He had resided in Point Pleasant, N.J., before moving to Portsmouth 10 years ago.
He was a graduate of Millburn (N.J.) High School and attended Georgetown University, Newark College of Engineering and Union Junior College.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Lonergan was employed by Torwico Electronics from 1956 until retiring in 1989.
He had a great appreciation for music and enjoyed movies, reading, the New York Jets, the New York Yankees and the New York Times.
He is survived by one sister, Mary J. Coombs of Greenland; two brothers, Peter J. Lonergan and Martin P. Lonergan, both of Hampton Falls; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Portsmouth.
Arlene C. Marcotte
EPPING - Arlene C. Marcotte, 88, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood.
She was born Nov. 19, 1912, in Epping, the daughter of the late Arthur and Jeanette (Johnson) Tarleton and was one of 16 children. She resided in Epping for most of her life, and had lived in Hampton briefly before moving to the nursing home.
She was a 1931 graduate of Epping High School.
Mrs. Marcotte was employed by Sam Smith Shoe Co., Newmarket, for many years.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Daughters of the American Revolution in Epping.
The widow of Earl N. Marcotte Sr., who died in 1982, she is survived by two daughters, Irene Cote of Epping and Betty Poliquin of Hampton; two stepsons, Earl N. Marcotte Jr. of Texas and Kenneth Marcotte of Barrington; one stepdaughter, Audrey Castle of Exeter; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Hersom of Rochester; three brothers, Donald Tarleton of Somersworth, Olen Tarleton of Rochester and Richard Tarleton of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 8 Pleasant St., Epping.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Wayne VanGundy officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Epping.

Eldora L. Morel
EXETER - Eldora L. (Denoncour) Morel, of 277 Water St., died Dec. 29, 2000, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood.
Mrs. Morel was a longtime resident of Epping, and had resided in Exeter for 10 years.
The widow of Theodore Morel, she is survived by one brother, Eldon Denoncour of Exeter; one sister, Ann Fortier of Exeter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Albert, Herbert and Norman Denoncour; and three sisters, Veronica Demasky, Helen Graney and Evelyn Kearns.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated January 1 in St. Joseph Church, Epping, with the Rev. Ronald Corriveau as celebrant. Spring burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Epping.

James E. Phillips III
HAMPTON BEACH - James E. "Buddy" Phillips III, 58, of 20 Kentville Terrace, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, in Exeter Hospital.
He was born July 11, 1942, in Cambridge, Mass., the son of the late James E. and Grace M. (Walton) Phillips Jr. He was raised in Quincy, Mass., had resided in Brockton, Mass., from 1967 until 1997 and began spending his summers at Hampton Beach in 1983. He wintered in Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.
He attended Boston College High School and served with the U.S. Army Reserves.
Mr. Phillips worked in management for Bell Atlantic for 32 years retiring in 1991. Following his retirement he was a handyman in the construction business.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton, and a former member of Our Lady of Lords Church in Brockton.
He was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dorothy Y. (Belanger) Phillips; one son and his wife, James E. and Suzanne Phillips IV of Taunton, Mass.; one sister, Barbara Jean Coughlin of Norwood, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. Burial was in High Street Cemetery, Hampton.
Memorial donations may be made to the Seacoast Visiting Nurse Association, 29 Lafayette Road, No. Hampton, NH 03862.

Norman R. Rollins
EPPING —Norman R. Rollins, 69, of Pleasant Street, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, in Exeter Hospital.
He was born June 27, 1931, in Epping, the son of the late Clifton A. and Addie Belle (Remillard) Rollins and resided in Epping and Raymond.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Rollins retired from Newbury Trucking in 1993 after 10 years of service. After his retirement he was a security guard for Errco until his death.
He was a member of the Maple Wheadon Post No. 4479 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Raymond and the Richard A. Mitchell Post No. 51 American Legion of Epping.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Annette R. (Bernier) Rollins of Epping; two sons, Norman L. Rollins of Tamassee, S.C., and Ricky R. Rollins of Epping; two daughters, LuAnn C. Boyanowski and Sheila D. Ebitson, both of Raymond; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, with the Rev. Ronald Corriveau officiating.

Giacomo Rossi
EXETER - Giacomo "Jack" Rossi, 87, of Exeter Rose Farms, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at his home after a sudden illness.
He was born May 6, 1913, in Dover, the son of the late Battista and Rosina (Iamarta) Rossi and had resided in Exeter for more than 60 years.
Mr. Rossi was a rose grower at Exeter Rose Farms, which was owned and operated by the Dagostino family.
He was a communicant of St. Michael Church, Exeter.
The widower of Caroline "Lena" (Dagostino) Rossi, who died in 1969, he is survived by one daughter and her husband, Evelyn and Neve Dimock of Stratham; two grandsons, three sisters, Josephine Gutjahr of Flanders, N.J., Lena Bohley of Rochester and Edith McManus of Dover; one brother, Louis Rossi of Somersworth; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, John Rossi; and two sisters, Theresa Wooten and Magdalena Rossi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Front Street, Exeter. Burial will follow in Exeter Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.
Beverly J. Brown
SEABROOK - Beverly J. Brown, 62, of 113 Cimarron Drive, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, in Exeter Hospital.
She was born July 13, 1938, in Somerville, Mass., the daughter of the late Douglas and Conchetta (DiJulia) Munroe and had resided in Seabrook for nearly 40 years.
Mrs. Brown was a stitcher for the former Barr & Bloomfield Shoe Co. for several years.
She is survived by one son, Douglas L. Brown Jr. of Rochester; three daughters, Catherine L. Brown and Rhonda L. Brown, both of Exeter, and Whonda D. Wolterbeek of Hampton; two grandchildren; three brothers, Donald Munroe of Tucson, Ariz., Richard Munroe of Newton and Robert Munroe of Rochester; one sister, Claire Smith of Newton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in 1992 by one son, Mark D. Brown, and one brother, Douglas C. "Sonny" Munroe.
Funeral services were held Monday in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton. Following cremation, interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook.
