Eileen A. Johnson
HAMPTON - Eileen A. Johnson, 82, of 66 Carolan Ave., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at her home.
She was born Feb. 8, 1919, in Lowell, Mass., the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary J. (McCabe) Rourke and had been a resident of Hampton since 1979 coming from Andover and Peabody, Mass.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Hampton Monday Club and a former member of the Friends of Lane Memorial Library and the Seacoast Newcomers Club.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond E. Johnson; one daughter and her husband, Dianne E. and William Rogers of Hampton; one son and his wife, Richard M. and Doreen Johnson of Hampton Falls; and four grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one son, Raymond E. Johnson Jr., and one sister, Rita M. Rourke.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in High Street Cemetery, Hampton.

Mary-Jane Kilian
NEWMARKET - Mary-Jane Kilian, 65, of Piscassic St., died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Seacoast Health Center, Hampton.
She was born June 30, 1936, in Passaic, N.J., the daughter of Robert C. and Grace (Niebank) Ballard. She was raised in Wood Ridge, N.J., and had resided in Amesbury, Mass., for 10 years before moving to Newmarket three years ago.
She was a graduate of Pace College, New York City, with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Mrs. Kilian was a founding partner of K&F, LLC, Certified Public Accountants in Stratham. She was a licensed CPA in New Hampshire and Florida.
She was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; the New Hampshire Society of Certified Public Accountants; the N.H. SPCA, where she served as treasurer and on the board of directors; and was a coordinator of Seacoast Women's Network.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Paul B. Kilian of Newmarket; three children, Paul D. Kilian, Catherine A. Tang and Marylou Rice, all of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren; one brother, Robert C. Ballard of Tampa, Fla.; and four cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Main Street, Newmarket. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket.

Laurene M. Morron
EXETER - Laurene M. (Daly) Morron, 78, of 17 Hampton Road, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, after a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Rutland, Vt., the daughter of James and Persiss (Pickett) Daly and had been a longtime resident of Danvers, Mass., and Beverly Hills, Fla.
The widow of Lyle Morron, she is survived by one son and his wife, Rodney and Linda Morron of Seabrook; two grandchildren; and one brother, James Daly of Virginia.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Steven J. Harrington Jr.
EXETER - Steven John Harrington Jr., 52, of Winter Street, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, in Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born Jan. 24, 1949, in Lynn, Mass., the son of the late Steven J. and Dorothy (Shaw) Harrington Sr. He was raised in Peabody, Mass., and had resided in Portsmouth for more than 20 years before moving to Exeter four years ago.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving for eight years and was a 20-year member of the Air National Guard.
Mr. Harrington was an operations specialist at Pease Air Force Base for several years.
He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, Portsmouth.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working around the house and collecting miniature houses.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Sheffield) Harrington of Exeter; one son, Christopher Harrington of Portsmouth; one daughter, Shannon Harrington of Portsmouth; four stepchildren, Bill Robare of Raymond, Danielle Robare of Epping, and Nicole West and Rusty West, both of Exeter; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild; one sister, Janice Evans of Danvers, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Exeter. Burial will be in Exeter Cemetery, Exeter.

Mary R. Ingraham
EPPING - Mary R. Ingraham, 70, of 98 Old Nottingham Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at SunBridge Nursing Home, Beverly, Mass.
She was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Ipswich, Mass., the daughter of the late John and Mary (Burns) Counihan.
She was educated in Hamilton, Mass., grammar schools, was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Beverly, Salem Hospital School of Nursing, Salem, Mass., and received a bachelor of science degree and a master of social work degree from New Hampshire College.
Mrs. Ingraham was employed at Exeter Hospital and Hampstead Hospital, Hampstead, for 17 years.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Ingraham of Epping; two daughters, Mary E. Smith of Brattleboro, Vt., and Susan Wildes of Epping; three sons, Edward Ingraham III of Burlington, Ky., Peter Ingraham of Orlando, Fla., and Andrew Ingraham of Dover; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Bonnaci and Jane Haviland, both of Beverly; and several nieces and nephews.

David P. Lee
CHEVY CHASE, Md. - David P. Lee, 62, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, in Suburban Hospital following a stroke.
He was born in Portland, Maine, the son of Thomas A. and Sarah J. (Murphy) Lee.
He was a 1957 graduate of Cheverus High School and a 1961 graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He received his juris doctor and his master of laws degrees in labor law from Georgetown University Law Center.
Mr. Lee was vice chairman and general counsel of the National Railway Labor Conference. He joined the NRLC, a collective bargaining organization that represents most of the nation’s freight railroads and conducts national negotiations with unions representing rail industry employees, in 1966. After moving with the NRLC to Washington, D.C., in 1968, he became general counsel in 1972 and vice chair in 1983. He appeared before 28 presidential emergency boards, bodies appointed by the president to make recommendations to Congress on railway labor disputes. He was very active in legislative matters, representing railroad interests before Congress. He appeared before numerous study commissions and panels examining railroad labor relations.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ann Lee of Chevy Chase; four children, Brian Lee of Baltimore, Maura Lee of Washington, Megan Hilal of Oakton, Va., and Dr. Michael Lee of Boston; two grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Gorham of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and Elizabeth McClain of North Hampton; three brothers, Thomas Lee of Westminster, Calif., Rev. Robert Lee of Portland and Richard Lee of South Portland, Maine.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Maryland. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress St., Portland, Maine.
Local arrangements are by the Conroy-Tully Funeral Home, Portland.
Irene L. Heps
HAMPTON - Irene L. Heps, 66, of 44 Milbern Ave., died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, in Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
She was born June 13, 1935, in New York City, the daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Kapitan) Schoko and had resided in Hampton since 1995 coming from Furlong, Pa. She had also lived in Switzerland, England and New Jersey.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Irving G. Heps; one son, Kenneth R. Heps of Missouri City, Texas; one daughter, Carolyn I. Duffy of Hampton; four grandchildren; and one sister, Jane Jordan of Newark, Del.
Calling hours will be held Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Cranford H. Couch
PORTSMOUTH - Cranford Harvey Couch, 76, of 75 Taft Road, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at his home.
He was born Dec. 10, 1925, in Athens, Ga., the son of Calvin R. and Ellamae (Evans) Couch.
He attended Athens schools and was a graduate of Clark County High School.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korea serving as a chef. During World War II he served on the USS Ray (SS271).
Mr. Couch was a chef at the University of New Hampshire retiring after 25 years of service.
He was known as the Mayor of Taft Road; was a member of the Fleet Reserve of Portsmouth; and the Submarine Veterans of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Merwyn E. (Thompson) Couch of Portsmouth; one son, Calvin R. Couch of Portsmouth; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Ernest Couch, Harry Couch and Olaf Couch; and one sister, Frances Matthews.
Funeral services were held Thursday in the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, Portsmouth.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Margaret E. Brown
NORTH HAMPTON - Margaret E. Brown, 88, of 34 Maple Road, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at Exeter Healthcare.
She was born Jan. 10, 1913, in Grand Manan, New Brunswick, the daughter of the late Roy C. and Hattie J. (Naves) Nesbitt, moving to Exeter as a child and to North Hampton in the early 1930s.
She attended Robinson Female Seminary, Exeter.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church, Hampton, for many years, and was very active with the North Hampton Woman’s Club and the Ladies Union of the United Church of Christ of North Hampton. She was a volunteer at the North Hampton School Library and the Nearly New Shop at Trinity Episcopal Church for many years.
The widow of Hayden M. Brown, who died in 1970, she is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Beverley and George Frenette of North Hampton and Pauline and Richard Waters of Hampton; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Josephine Dining of Clearwater, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Todd N. Carter, Viva N. Brown and Evelyn N. Callahan.
Services were held Thursday in Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Peter Lane, rector, of-ficiating. Private burial was in Little River Cemetery, North Hampton.
