Albina L. Groleau
BERLIN -- A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Albina L. Groleau, of Berlin on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish with Father Richard Roberge and Father C. Peter Dumont as celebrants. The cantor was Madeliene Jeffrey, accompanied by Susan Ramsey as organist.
The pall was placed by James Beaton and Father Richard Roberge. Serving as readers were great-granddaughters, Amy Michaud and Ginny Lessard. The offertory gifts were presented by granddaughters, Lise Michaud and Diane Elder. A eulogy was given by Reverend C. Peter Dumont and granddaughter Lise Michaud.
Interment followed the services in St. Kieran Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Leo, Rene and Mark Lessard, great-grandsons, Kellan Lessard and Jay Michaud and nephew Paul Drouin.
There were numerous friends and family members that attended the services.

Thomas Driscoll
BERLIN -- Thomas Driscoll, age 45, passed away unexpectedly in the morning hours of Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin.
He was born in Canton, Ohio, on March 20, 1963, a son of Robert and Phyllis (Bush) Driscoll. He moved to Berlin as a young man and resided here most of his life. He was married to Laura (Secord) and together they raised four children. In earlier years, Tom had been employed by the Brookside Park Apartments as a maintenance man. He loved sports, especially the Patriots and Red Sox and was a very good friend to all. He and his wife had also taken in foster children and pets and opened their home to anyone who needed help. His greatest love was for his family and his wife, who preceded him in death in 2003. He will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his father, Robert Driscoll of southern New Hampshire; his son, Barry Driscoll of Hampton; his daughters, Ann Lepage and her husband Chris of Littleton, Jessica Driscoll and her fiancé Roderick Vancour of Berlin and Megan Driscoll of Littleton. He also leaves behind his brothers. Steven and Robert Driscoll; his grandchildren. Laura, Samantha, Tanner, Krista and Caleb, a niece and nephew and his dear friends Rose and Henry Fortin.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his wife Laura.
A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street in Berlin using the School Street entrance, with the Deacon Merle Albert officiating.
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday, May 9, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. immediately following the service.
Interment will be held at a later date.
Those wishing to make donations in Tom’s memory may do so to his daughter, Jessica Driscoll, 511 Goebel Street #2, Berlin, N 03570 to assist with his final expenses.
Richard W. Anderson
FT. MYERS, FLA. -- Richard W. Anderson passed away April 24, 2008 at Hope Hospice in Ft. Myers, Fla.
Mr. Anderson, 76, was born in Somerville, Mass., to parents Ralph and Katherine O’Connell Anderson. He was educated in the Somerville, Mass., school system, served in the US Army in Korea and subsequently worked in the Bell Telephone Co. System for approximately 35 yrs., retiring in 1990. He lived in the Conway and Moultonboro areas and wintered at his home in Fort Myers, Fla.
Surviving Mr. Anderson are his wife Roberta, of Moultonboro; son, Gary, his wife Melissa, and grandsons Ethan and Gary of Sanbornton; five stepchildren, Mark, Russell and James Boisvert of Maine, Paula Boisvert of Florida., John Boisvert of New Hampshire; his brother, Ralph and wife Evelyn of Medford, Mass., and niece Gail Anderson of London, England.
A funeral Mass will be held June 25, at 10 am. at Our Lady of The Mountains Church in Intervale. Burial will follow the Mass in Conway NH Cemetary.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Richard W. Anderson, Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Ft. Myers, Fla., 33908, or the American Cancer Society.
Olive Thibodeau-Dumontier
BERLIN -- A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Olive Thibodeau-Dumontier, of Berlin on June 7, 2008 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish with Fr. Richard Roberge as celebrant. The cantor was Madeleine Jeffrey, accompanied by Susan Ramsey as organist.
The pall was placed by her son and daughter in law, Edgar and Mary Lou Thibodeau. Edgar also placed the cross. Serving as readers was her grandchildren, Katie Salatino and Michael Thibodeau, Jr. The offertory gifts were presented by her great-grandchildren, Katie and Matthew Salatino.
Interment followed the services in St. Anne Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons, Jay, Michael and Paul Thibodeau; her great-grandsons, Brett and Michael Thibodeau, Jr., and her grandson-in-law, Michael Salatino.
There were many friends and family members that attended the services.

Sara Jean Buckley
BERLIN -- A Celebration of Life was held for Sara Jean Buckley, of Berlin on Monday, June 16, 2008 in the chapel of the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home with Sr. Monique Therriault officiating. Recollections of Sara’s life were shared by her friends, Danielle Couture, Jamie Lee Cooney and Chloe Harrington. A poem was read by family friend Lucille Hickey and a letter from her brother-in-law to be was also read by Sr. Monique.
Reflections of Sara were written down during a time of remembrance and presented to the family as a keepsake.
There were many family members and friends who attended the services.

Irene C. Judson
BERLIN -- Mrs. Irene C. (Phaneuf) Judson, 79, of 155 Willow St., Berlin, passed away on Friday June 27, 2008 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. She was born in Berlin on May 24, 1929, the daughter of Henry and Blanche (Gagne) Phaneuf and had lived many years in Connecticut and returned to Berlin in 1987.
Members of the family include three daughters, Carol Porto and her husband Carmen of Berlin, Martha Levesque and her boyfriend Bob Seibel of Sarasota, Fla., and Debbie Judson of Berlin; five grandchildren, Kim Porto and her fiancee Jody Simon, Melinda Beaulieu and her husband Jeremy, Stephanie Grondin, Wesley Grondin and John Grondin; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Rene Phaneuf of Connecticut, Raymond Phaneuf of Gorham and Arthur Phaneuf of Connecticut; two sisters, Rita Landry of Delaware and Louise Phaneuf of Glencliff; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Franklin Judson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday evening, July 3, at 8 p.m. in the Chapel of the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday July 3, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m.. Marjorie B. Roberge
BERLIN -- Marjorie B. (Lozier) Roberge, age 90, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital.
She was born in Berlin on April 17, 1918, a daughter to the late Cyrille and Charlotte Lozier. She attended St. Joseph Grammar School and Berlin High School. She was a member of Union Local 75. She worked for Brown Co./James River as a packer in the towel room for many years. She retired several years ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her beloved husband Lucien W. Roberge. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Leo, Ernest, and Clarence Lozier and her sisters Evelyn Brown, Doris Eastman, Rose Levesque and Lillian Lozier.
She leaves behind her sisters, Claire and Lorraine Lozier of Berlin. She will also be remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday, June 27, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street in Berlin, using the School Street entrance.

Jane Ouellet
BERLIN -- Mrs. Jane (Valley) Ouellet, formerly of 275 Finland St., Berlin, passed away on Saturday afternoon June 28, 2008 at the Coos County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown, following a long bout with Alzheimer’s. She was born on July 27, 1921 in Berlin, the daughter of Joseph and Ruby (Smith) Valley and lived in Berlin most of her life. She graduated from Berlin High School in 1940. For 18 years, she worked at the J.C. Penney Store and later owned and operated the Simon Davis Smart Shop and Labnon’s Department Store and retired on October 18, 1976. Her many interests included board member of the Salvation Army since 1976 and many years as its chairman. She also chaired all of the following: VFW Post # 2520 Auxiliary, Coos County Republican Women’s Club, Northern Lights, Women’s Club, Berlin Business and Professional Women’s Club. Her main interest was entertaining people and she was a master chef. Some of her guests were George Bush, Gov. Mel Thompson, new industrialists in Berlin, etc. She was a member of Good Shepherd Parish.
Mrs. Ouellet is survived by her husband, Leo Ouellet of Berlin; one sister, Catherine Knights of Bowie, MD; a sister-in-law, Irene Markovich of Berlin; a stepson, John Ouellet of Londonderry; a stepdaughter, Paula Dzioba of Fremont; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Adams, and by two brothers, Joseph and David.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday morning July 2, at 10 a.m. at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will be in St. Kieran Cemetery next to her parents. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
Robert L. Caron
BERLIN -- Mr. Robert L. Caron, 67, of 152 Denmark St., Berlin, passed away on July 2, 2008 at his home. He was born in Guildhall, Vt., on December 23, 1940, the son of Majorique and Georgette (Valade) Caron, and lived most of his life in Berlin. He had been employed by the local paper mill for many years, prior to his retirement. He was a skilled woodworker and also enjoyed gardening and camping.
,Members of the family include his wife, Irene (Fontaine) Caron of Berlin; one daughter, Roberta Peters and her husband Jesse of Gorham; one granddaughter, Kelsey Peters of Gorham; one sister, Lucille Laramee of Berlin; two brothers, Armand Caron and his wife Juliette of Stark, and Peter Caron and his wife Mona of Berlin; his mother-in-law, Germaine Fontaine of Berlin; good friend, Wendell Wheeler; nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dog Midnight. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Jeanne Normand.
At his request, there will be no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations in his memory may be made to AVH Home Health and Hospice Services, 59 Page Hill Road, Berlin, NH, 03570. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
