Paul Norton
SOMERSWORTH - Paul R. Norton, 63, of 76 High St. died Tuesday November 23, 2004 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital following a sudden illness.
Born in Lynn, MA January 14, 1941, he was the son of the late Arthur E. and Helen E. (Marks) Norton, Sr. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Boy’s High School of Lynn, MA and attended Norwich University for one year.
He was retired from Thermopool where he worked in shipping and receiving. He also had been affiliated with the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars.
He moved here from Sanford, ME ten years ago.
Family members include one son, Michael Norton, one daughter, Michelle Norton, one sister, Nancy Norton Pike of Alfred, ME; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, Rev. Arthur E. Norton Jr. in June, 2004.

George Pennock
SOMERSWORTH - George I. Pennock, 56, of 7 Bernier Street, died at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dover, NH on Tuesday, November 23, 2004.
Mr. Pennock was born April 17, 1948 in Laconia, NH, the son of George A. and Helen (Grace) Pennock. Mr. Pennock graduated from Laconia High School in 1966 and was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH. He moved to Somersworth, NH thirty-six years ago and was employed at Saybolt for several years as a petroleum chemist. Mr. Pennock received a liver transplant in February of 1990. He retired in 2000 due to illness.
Mr. Pennock enjoyed reading and had an appreciation for sports cars.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Marie Joanne (St. Pierre) Pennock of Somersworth, NH; a daughter, Robin A. Wilson, of Lakeland, Florida; two aunts, Jean Hamilton of Laconia, NH and Cynthia Walker of Randolph, Vermont; one uncle, James Pennock, of Gilmanton, NH and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents.

Lucienne Vezeau
SOMERSWORTH - Lucienne R. Vezeau, 89, formerly of 28 Franklin Street died Thursday December 9, 2004 at Rochester Manor.
Lucienne was born in Somersworth on January 30, 1915 and was the daughter of Octave and Annie (Vigneault) Nadeau. She was raised in Somersworth and graduated from St. Martin Academy. Mrs. Vezeau was a resident of this community all of her life.
Before retiring, she had been a stitcher with the Somersworth Shoe Company. She was a communicant of St. Martin Catholic Church.
Family members include her husband of 69 years, Richard H. Vezeau, a daughter Mrs. Rachel Mascis and her husband William of Somersworth. A son Normand Vezeau and his wife Elizabeth of Wells, Maine. Lucienne also leaves a sister Grace Gagnon of Somersworth. 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A brother Michael Nadeau and 3 sisters, Eva Dumont, Rose Saindon and Lorraine Michaud predeceased her.

Theresa Gagne
SOMERSWORTH - Theresa Yvette Gagne, "TUT", 78, formerly of Somersworth, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Riverside Rest Home.
She was born in Dover on Aug. 29, 1926, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Credit) Caron.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph E. Gagne, who died in 1982. They had raised their family in Somersworth.
She was a longtime active member of the ladies American Legion Auxiliary Post 69 of Somersworth and also the VFW. She will be remembered for her friendly, kind, caring manner and her outgoing love for life.
She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her four children, Debra A. Lambert of Farmington, Doris E. Morrill of Rochester, Paul E. Gagne of Windham, Maine, and Frances T. Desharnais of Dover. She had 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jeannette Lapointe
SOMERSWORTH - Jeannette Lapointe, 70, took her final trip on Nov. 14, 2004. Destination: Heaven!! Where she is with Jesus to whom she gave her life years ago and now takes her place in the Community of Saints. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed.
Jeannie lived in Somersworth her entire life. She was an active communicant at St Martin Church and joyfully participated in the parish as a member of the Ladies Guild, Our Lady of the Rosary Prayer Group, Eucharistic Minister, baking for fairs and cooking potatoes for the breakfasts. She especially loved singing in the church choir and was eternally grateful for the privilege to sing with her beloved choir.
Jeannie enjoyed sketching flowers, especially roses, which now adorn the home of her family members and friends. Her greatest joy was visiting with her family at home or on vacations across the country.
She was predeceased by her parents, Lucien and Florence Fortier, her brother Richard Fortier and her granddaughter Theresa Lapointe.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Alphonse Lapointe, her loving daughters and sons-in-law Claire Menard and her husband Norman of Berwick, ME, Diane McHugh and her husband Brian of Glen, NH., her sons David Lapointe currently proudly serving in Iraq and Philip Lapointe of Somersworth, NH.
Remaining are her sisters Rachel Masse and her husband Martin, Pauline Adams, Lucille Hebert and her husband Bob and Loraine Porrelle., her brothers Martin Fortier and his wife Dianne, Donald Fortier and his wife Valerie and Ronald Fortier.
She leaves behind ten very special grandchildren and one cherished great grandson, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
She will be fondly remembered for her compassionate, kind, caring, prayerful manner and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
The family wishes to thank the caring nurses from Seacoast Hospice. They especially thank her loving and caring healthcare provider Lynn Devlin of Salmon Falls Family Healthcare in Somersworth.

Elizabeth Michaels
SOMERSWORTH - Elizabeth L. Michaels 90 formerly of 38 Myrtle Street, died Saturday November 20, 2004 at The St. Ann Health Care Center, Dover.
Elizabeth was born in Somersworth on December 10, 1913 and was the daughter of Joseph and Louise (Conway) Roy. She was raised in this community and was a graduate of Holy Trinity Grammar School and Somersworth High School Class of 1932. Mrs. Michaels had lived in Somersworth most of her life.
Before her retirement, she had served as a secretary of the GE Employees Association with 28 years of service. Elizabeth was a communicant of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was a member of the Dover Seniors and Somersworth Seniors Organizations.
Elizabeth enjoyed playing cards and loved knitting and crocheting.
Her family includes a son, Richard Michaels and his wife Dorothea of Somersworth, and a daughter Marsha Miller and her husband David of Rochester. Other family members include her 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren nephews and nieces. A dear nephew Edward DeForrest whom she raised in his younger years.
She was predeceased by two brothers Henry Roy and Alfred Roy, by her sister Laura DeForrest. Her husband Frank H. Michaels pre deceased her in 1979.

Joseph Nadeau
SOMERSWORTH - Joseph P. Nadeau, 67, of 26 Crystal Springs Trailer Park died Wednesday, Nov, 10, 2004, at his residence.
He was born in South Berwick, Maine, May 27, 1937, the son of Theresa Nadeau and the stepson of Ed (Charlie) Vigneault. He was educated in Somersworth Schools. He served in the U.S. Army.
He had worked at Mayberry Shoe Co. and later at Gasses’ Service Station in Dover until it closed.
Survivors include two aunts, Ida Nadeau of Dover and Estelle Delano of Somersworth; two uncles, Jean Robert Nadeau of Dover and Leopold Nadeau of Rochester; three stepbrothers, Armand Vigneault of Sun City, Ariz., Gerard Vigneault of Asheville, N.C., and Roger Vigneault of Dover.
Delphine Michaud Auger
LADY LAKE FLORIDA - Delphine Michaud Auger, 93, of the Villages died Thursday November 4, 2004 at Lady Lake Specialty Care Center in Lady Lake
Born in North Woburn, MA on April 17, 1911 the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Pomerleau) Couture. She attended schools in Berwick, ME and had lived in Newburyport, MA, Somersworth, NH and South Berwick, ME prior to moving to Florida about 6 years ago.
She is survived by two daughters Dorothy Anderson and her husband George, Carol Gaudreault and her husband John all of “The Villages”, FL, a stepson Antonio Michaud and his wife Margo of Port Richey, FL, her grandchildren Carol Harmon, Cornish, ME; Leanne Anderson, So. Berwick, ME; Dale Anderson, Conway, NH; Bradley Gaudreault, Center Conway, NH and Janell Gaudreault, LaGrange, GA. She also leaves 8 step grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and 4 step great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her husbands Ludger Michaud in 1950, Robert Auger in 1976 and three sisters Regina Perchey of So. Berwick, Dorothy Couture and Bernadette Couture both of Somersworth, and stepchildren Edgar, Albert Edward and Oscar Michaud and Bella Cox.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael’s Church, Young St., So. Berwick with Rev. John Skehan, pastor as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Rollinsford, NH beside her first husband, Ludger Michaud, father of her 2 daughters and 6 stepchildren.

Evelyn Cheetham
SOMERSWORTH - Evelyn Rachel Cheetham, 81, of 407 Main St., died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dover, N.H.
She was the widow of the late John Cheetham, who died in April of 1983.
She was born April 15, 1923, in Dover, N.H., the daughter of Robert and Bride (O’Rock) Goddard. She was a graduate of Dover High School and McIntosh College.
She worked for Clarostat Manufacturing of Dover for 35 years as an inspector, retiring in 1994.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Kurt (Ruth) Lane of Somersworth; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Hebert of Somersworth and Mrs. John (Lucille) Ocheltree of South Boston, Mass.; one grandson, Jason Lane; one great-granddaughter, Madeline Elizabeth Hadwen; two nieces, Shirley Lock and Jennie Bickford; two nephews, Forest Kimball and Johnnie Ocheltree, Jr.
Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, N.H. with the Rev. David Slater, pastor of the First Parish Church, Congregational of Dover, officiating.
Relatives and friends may call today from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, one hour prior to the funeral service.
Burial will follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery, Dover.

Robert Grogan
SOMERSWORTH - Robert Allen Grogan, 83, of 20 Colonial Village, Somersworth, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at his home.
He was born in Kittery, Maine, on Oct. 7, 1921, a son of Walter and Grace (Hutchins) Grogan of Traip Avenue in Kittery. He attended local schools, including R.W. Traip Academy.
He was a foreman of the supply department at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, retiring in January 1982 after 36 years. He served his country for four years as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II in the 43rd Bombardment Squadron and was discharged in 1946.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and politics. While reading three newspapers each day, he had many opinions on local and national news items. He coached the American Legion Little League team in Kittery for many years. In recent years, he enjoyed doing genealogical research.
He was predeceased by his wife Pauline (Watson) Grogan and a brother, William E. Grogan.
Survivors include his loving family, who will miss him dearly; his sons, Thomas A. and his wife, Janice Grogan, of Eliot, Maine, and Robert W. and his wife, Michelle Grogan, of Milford; and five grandchildren, Kendra Grogan and her husband, Ethan Jule, of South Berwick, Maine, Cory Grogan of York, Maine, Adam Walter Grogan of Whitefish, Mont., Matthew Grogan of New York City, and Justin R. Grogan of Rye; and three great-grandchildren, Amelia Jule, Noah Jule and Jocelyn Grogan.
A graveside service will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in Orchard Grove Cemetery in Kittery. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations in his memory be made to the Kittery Little League c/o Jeff Edwards, 9 Payne Road. Kittery Point, ME 03904. Arrangements are entrusted to J.S. Skyler Malo
SOMERSWORTH - Skyler Andrew Malo newborn infant son of Brian and Danielle (Donnelly) Malo of 6 Pinewood Drive, died Tuesday November 9, 2004 shortly after being born at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
In addition to his parents he is survived by three sisters Sierra Malo, Savannah Malo and Sienna Malo, his maternal grandmother Jeannine Chevalier of Somersworth, his paternal grandparents Claude and Elaine Malo of Dover and his great-grandparents Norman and Blanche Chevalier of New Bedford, MA. He also leaves his aunts & uncles Christopher and Alex Malo of San Antonio, Texas, James and Casey Malo of Dover, Kevin and Jessica Donnelly of Wakefield, Amanda Rounds of Somersworth and three cousins Joshua Malo of San Antonio, Jenyca Donnelly and KJ Donnelly both of Wakefield.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of The Angels will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday November 12, 2004 at St. Joseph Church, 150 Central Ave., Dover, relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in St. Mary New Cemetery, Dover.
Rita Boucher
Rita M. Boucher, 85, of 21 W. Green Street died Friday October 22, 2004 at St. Anne Healthcare Center, Dover after a period of failing health.
Rita was born in Somersworth on September 8, and was the daughter of Emile and Mary (McGee) Boucher. She was raised in this community and was a graduate of St. Martin Academy and Commercial School. She had been a resident of this community all of her life.
She had worked several years as an office worker with the Internal Revenue Service and retired from General Electric as an assembly line worker with over 30 years of service.
A devoted member of St. Martin Catholic Church, Rita served as an Eucharistic Minister and as a member of the Choir. She was also a member of St. Martin Ladies Guild. Rita also served others in need as a volunteer at Frisbie Memorial Hospital and as a volunteer at the food pantry.
Family members include a brother Paul Boucher of Rochester and a sister, Jeannette Shaw of Somersworth. Several nephews and nieces.
Friends and family may call at Bernier Funeral Home 49 South Street, Somersworth on Tuesday from 6 to 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00AM in St. Martin Catholic Church, W. High and Maple Street, Somersworth. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Somersworth. The family respectfully declines flowers.
